Disable unwanted scrollbars from iview

Hi,
I need to get rid of scrollbars from iviews that I have added to my portal page. I have now 4 iviews in my page.
I referred to this thread : How to remove an unneeded scroll bar from an iView?
Changed the Isolation mode from URL to "Embedded" - but somehow the iview doesnt seem to come up on my page.
I have set the Height type as "fixed" and have disabled the tray features.
Please let me know what I am missing out.

Hi Ashwini,
How about trying to remove the "Show Tray" and "Show Object Name in Tray".
They can be found in the Property Category - "Appearance- Tray".
Do the above if you do not need the name of the iview to be shown and that you do not require users to do activities (like refresh, details..) on the iviews.
I had the same problem on my News iview where I have 2x scrollbar. They are resolved via the above approach.

My portal page have 2 iviews and one of them is Webdynpro iview; these iviews are placed in the page horizontally. Page and webdynpro ivew both of them have unnecessarily horizontal scrollbar. At least I want to remove horizontal scrollbar from iView. (Our portal version is 6.0 SP 18). It looks like that it is not possible to do this by changing any iView property. Even I checked theme properties but figured out nothing.
Who knows more and can help me?

Its possible to remove the horizondal tool bar in an iView.
Either you can change/modify the content that making horizondal tool bar or Customize the Layout
in portal.
Download the layout par file and upload into NWDS. Create your own layout/ changing the width of existing one. If you are modifying the existing layout, then that may effect all other pages where that particular layour is beeing used.

JDev/ADF Faces 11gR2.3: UI Shell, how to disable scrollbars from logo

I have set a header logo by using the UI Shell template property "logoImagePath" attribute. Upon running the page, I notice that if I resize the browser window width to a smaller value then the image width, horizontal and vertical scroll bars appear. This is not desirable and I'm looking for a way to disable the scrollbars. Any suggestions on how to solve this issue?

I guess for this you have to alter the template. I don't have the ui shell template at hand but my guess it that the image is child of a panelgroupLayout of type scroll. When the browser window is resized below the width or height of the panel group you get scroll bars. To change this you have to remove the panelGroupLayout and just use a group.

Can't remove unwanted vertical scrollbar from JSP

I can't remove an unnecessary vertical scrollbar from my JSP when the "<DIV>" on the screen is wider than the screen(i.e a horizontal scrollbar is necessary).It does'nt matter how much info is removed from the page the vertical scrollbar remains as long as the "<DIV>" is wider than the screen.Has anyone else experienced this problem before?.

The data displayed is all necessary for the functionality of the screen (i.e different calculations and figures being checked, similiar usage as an excel spreadsheet online).So it is necessary to have a horizontal scrollbar but I do not want a vertical scrollbar as it does'nt provide any functionality as the page fits perfectly into the screen height wise.

Let me explain a little more. I had downloaded a lot of free books in the past as a trial when iBooks was first released and since then I have decided I no longer want them, because of this I hid them from the purchased section of the iBooks store. The 5 books left are ones I decided to keep as seen in the following picture.
This is how it appears in iBooks on my mac. There are 4 books downloaded and 1 book that I have decided not to download at this time. I would still like to keep this book available in the cloud incase I want to download it again in the future. You’ll notice that hide iCloud books is not selected, if I wanted to hide the book that I have chosen to keep in the cloud, but have not downloaded yet I could.
This is exactly how I think this feature should work. If you have hidden a book from your purchases it should not show up in the mac Ibooks app. (I am aware you can never actually delete a purchase, just hide them and that hidden purchases can be restored to your account from within the account management section of the iBooks store).
The iOS app is working differently for me. Here is a picture of the purchased tab on the iBooks store in iOS Ibooks. Again notice that pictures of Lilly is still yet to be downloaded. This is how I expected it to look.

It could be that Restrictions are set on the iPhone to prevent deleting apps:
Open the Settings App
General
Restrictions (the button will indicate if it is on, and you will be prompted to type the security code)
Either disable Restrictions or Turn Deleting app back on

The Windows bar already functions as a tab bar. Those tabs are called "windows." So, I find Firefox tab windows superfluous. How can I disable them completely from Firefox 23? I don't need what is essentially TWO windows bars covering up the entire width of my widescreen monitor's image! I already have a Windows bar at the bottom of my screen and, if I really wanted to, I could change ITS position to the top of the screen, so that it would LOOK like the Firefox tab windows bar. Firefox TABS are, essentially, a superfluous SECOND WINDOWS BAR.
Here are my reasons for why I'd rather use Mozilla's Firefox, than Microsoft's Internet Explorer or Google's Chrome. Let me clarify even more. The Firefox add-on you mention does not remove "tabs" windows. It only HIDES the "tabs" bar when there is only one "tab" in that window. It DOES NOT end "tabs." It does not turn "tabs" off.
I know this, because, even with the add-on you recommend, the "tabs" bar often re-appears when I open a link, which--for some unknown reason--Firefox defaults to opening in a second "tab" within the same window, rather than putting it in a new Windows bar window. This, of course, disregards what I want to happen.
I want to use my Windows bar to control my windows. I do not want my Firefox browser controlling my windows--which it calls "tabs." Can you tell me how to shut off "tabs?"

Can I disable an Ipod from ITunes/Other Questions

Hi all! I am new to this forum and to using IPods/ITunes, so I am still trying to learn as much as I can about them. I made the mistake of getting my very irresponsible young teenage son an IPod (Gen 3) Touch. I have asked him several times to hand the device over to me so I can review the browser’s history (I am not even sure if that is possible, but I was going to try). I am I have major concerns regarding the websites he may be visiting. I am not trying to violate his privacy, but if it was a problem showing me the device - why won’t he hand it over - so that raised some major red flags.
So...my questions are:
Can I disable the device from ITunes? Or can I just delete the device from my ITunes Account? Would he still be able to use it?
I think I found a place on ITune where there was a place I could pick what parental controls that I wanted, I set those up - but I found this feature after he started hiding the device? Can this feature still work remotely without syncing?
Is there a way to view the browsing and internet history on the device (even if he would delete it)?
I am not sure if this would make a difference or not to answer my question, but when I had to set up the ITunes account, I did have to provide credit card information to start the account.
I do have my daughter’s new IPod (Gen 4) Touch also linked to the same ITunes account.
One more thought...can I just delete the ITunes account totally and start a new one for my daughter? Would this disable his device?
Again, I am very new to using an IPod. I can get around using them (and selecting the correct features) with a little direction though.

The parental controls feature in iTunes only works for iTunes, not for a portable device. There are similar restrictions on the iPod, but those can only be set on the iPod itself.

No, sorry, if he clears the history, there's no way to view it.

You can start a new one, but that won't affect any existing accounts. You can change the password on the iTunes Store account he's been using. That would block him from being able to purchase any new content through that account. But you can't stop him from opening up a new iTunes Store account by using a prepaid iTunes card, available from almost any grocery store.

No.
Without being able to have the iPod in your hands, the only way you can affect it would be if you had set up the Find My iPod feature before giving the iPod to your son. If you had, you could then lock the iPod or wipe the data on it. Otherwise, there's nothing you can do until he gives you his iPod, at which time you could set up the Restrictions and, if you wish, download a web browser that allows you to set site restrictions and force him to use that browser.

My apologies if this has already been answered. I'm using Messages on my Macbook. I am trying to find if there is a way to disable new chats from moving above old chats. The way it works now, I use Messages for work, and when I have 3 people messaging me at once, the messages keep doing a musical chairs back and forth switch.
I've looked through all of the settings and have not found anything. Let me know if I'm explaining this poorly and I'll try and communicate it better.

Sorry, I thought I should start a new thread for a new question.
With my JInternalFrame, I have it minimized initially when it is created. Now, how can I prevent the user from opening or "restoring" that frame? Basically, I just want the "title" bar to appear, and disable the frame from opening up.

I have the App Store icon in the Dock. When there's an update a red number appears on said icon. Well, I went to check on the updates and it's for 4 different applications I either no longer have or use. One of them is an update for Lion OS users. I'm still on Snow Leopard, so it doesn't even apply to me.
So there they sit... I'm not going to download the updates... so how do I get rid of them?

If there are updates available for apps you have deleted, try this.
Go to ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore
Move the Cache.db and Updates files from the com.apple.appstore folder to the Trash.
Empty the Trash, restart your Mac.
For any apps you still have installed but do not use, the updates will still be available from the Updates top of the App Store window and show on the red badge on the App Store icon in the Dock.

How can I delete an unwanted template from 'My Templates'? I created this in error and cannot find a way to remove it. Thanks for all help.

Pages stores those you created & saved as templates in (your account) > Library > Application Support > iWork > Pages > Templates > My Templates. The user's Library is hidden in Lion but it is easy to open. In Finder, hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu & your users Library will appear about halfway down the list.
I suggest you update your profile to show your current version of OS X. Click on "Your Stuff" at the top right of this page & choose profile (bottom of the list) then click edit.
