I want that in my dynpro application at run time user can not change settings for this purpose i have set a personalization parameter WDDISABLEUSERPERSONALIZATION = X like that. it is working fine in dev and QA but not working in PRD
Kindly help in this regard

Hi
Most of the time if it is not working then the systems are not in the same support package level.
are these three systems are in the same support package and also the clients are same in the three systems ?

Hello Experts,
We have implemented SRM business package.We want to disable right click "User settings" option from all the applications presented in SRM BP.
I know a way of disabling "User settings" by passing WDDISABLEUSERPERSONALIZATION parameter. We dont want to follow this approach as there are many applications and it would be difficult to change all the applications.
My question is do we have any settings ( may be in sicf ) which could disable "User settings" centrally for all WDA application on that particular server?

How to disabled 'user settings' in ALV by right clicking

Hi,
How to disable the 'user setting' context menu and corresponding popup after right clicking in the ALV.
I already tried parameter wddisableuserpersonalization = X but still I can do a right click and go to user settings.
Hope you can provide the right solution/method etc.

In my opinion this has nothing to do with auth settings... Has everything been transported cleanly?
You should double check the settings on your Acceptance machine, especially considering WD_GLOBAL_SETTING. If User-Personalization is allowed here, it will overwrite everything else.
Maybe also check WD_ANALYZE_CONFIG_USER on Acceptance machine and delete all personalizations for the user you are testing with. I once successfully messed up my Personalization with conflicting entries there...

Is there an option to disable the user settings for External Job Boards ? The user settings where candidate can save default keywork search etc (which unfortunately stays for other candidates unless the default value is discarded.)

Please check the following link on how to set up the WDDISABLEUSERPERSONALIZATION parameter:

and then set up the parameter for the standard hrrcf_a_unreg_job_search and try to run your WD application.

User Settings in ALV - need to disable

Hi - I need to disable the user settings for ALV, I try from if_salv_wd_std_functions ~ set_dialog_settings_allowed( abap_false ) but is working fine for the screen, if I go to the column and do right click, the user settings are enable at the column level.
Is there any way I can disable the column user settings?

Hi Jason,
I simply set the WDDISABLEUSERPERSONALIZATION parameter of my component's apllication to 'X' and now i don't see the usersetting option when I right click even on the column of the ALV. You can try that.
To do so: double click on your application, go to the parameters tab, make it editable, in the parameters column get 'WDDISABLEUSERPERSONALIZATION' parameter and set its value as 'X'.

"Disabled User Operations" - - DVDSP default settings??

In Menu > Advanced there is a section titled "Disable User Operations", and by default DVDSP has selected a number of Playback Controls to be DISABLED:
Still Off
Pause On/Off
Forward Scan
Next Program
Previous Program
Should I leave these default DVDSP settings? Wouldn't it be better to let the user have full control? ie: I should not disable anything?

It is up to you and what you want the user experience to be. But for menus those make sense to disable

How to disable the user settings for the transparent container

Hi Experts,
I have an form designed using VC - model, which as a input field and button. When i compile and deploy every thing works fine. I get the form as the output.I am able to call this form in the portal and I am able to get the page.
Issue: When i right click on the fields in the form I get "User settings for the input field AA" and gives me an option to Hide the field. Which the users doesnot want.
I tried it on the VC runtime where i don't get the right click option.
So kindly help me out in resolving this issue.

Hi Ketan,
If you have chosen the Rendering Client as WebDynpro HTML(by default it is set so) for the callable object, then you would invariably get the 'probelm' you're facing.
Instead you could set for the Object Definition -> Rendering Client as WebDnpro Flex in the Callable object (in Guided Procedures). Now you would not get that hide option.
But one simple question, why would the user want to right click on the field? Even if he hides the fields, he always has the option to make them visible again

Takes up to 5 min "Applying User Settings" with events ID 6005 6006 after a reboot - Win Server 2008 R2 Standard 64bit

Has anybody seen the issue below showing in the logs? The time for the logs messages switch from the real time (17:57) to some random time (10:55). There seem to be a disconnect with the time. I noticed right when the status message while logging in switches
to "apply user settings", the time get screwed up on the gpsvc.log file and switches to the random time (10:55) and keeps reporting that random time till "apply user settings" process completes and switches back to regular real time (17:57).
I made sure the server is synced up with w32tm /resync command. Tried different DNS settings. Tried dis joining and rejoining to the domain. tried to block inheritance on GPMC to that OU. Created new domain user. Deleted local profiles. All with no luck and
same behavior which is taking up to 5 min "applying user setting" only after a reboot. If I log in and out without reboot, it would log in just fine within seconds.
Any thoughts or suggestions are appreciated!

The numbers in parenthesis are PID.TID of gpsvc.exe. So we see a thread
change, and this usually indicates that a different logon process has
begun. Could you try to map this log entries to events in the group
policy event log?
But to be honest: No, I've never seen such a behavior in gpsvc.log :(
I'm almost sure that a service is responsible, but how to identify it -
I don't know. There's no auditing for system time changes, AFAIK.

I am getting the error"1013009 Administrator Has Temporarily Disabled User Commands" while executing a report script in Essbase 11.1.1.3

Possible Cause
When a database is being restructured or any application/database on the server is being copied, you can get this message.
or
When a cube is being restructured, commands are restricted because the integrity of the cube has to be stable and no one is allowed to access it.
or
Copying an application requires that the Essbase security file be in read/write mode and therefore other applications are not accessible until the process is completed.
Possible Solution
In Application Settings, verify that the Allow Commands or Allow Updates options are not selected.
If not selected select those..and try

Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 - Windows Server 2013 Standard - When logging in user hangs on - "Applying user settings" message

Dear colleges,
Thanks in advance for viewing and suggesting!
Now for whatever reason it is the XCHG server is not responsive at all when launching ECP from the other computer on the domain. When logging in to the virtual box EXCH server is hosted on it hangs on the "Applying user settings" message for
an about an hour when finally logged in 4 or 5 XCHG services won't start... I don't remember exactly which ones - "...Mailbox Transport..." is one of them.
I read about the similar being an issue with Win 2008 R2 and EXCH server 2010, and followed the advice that I needed to add some entries to the registry - didn't help, disabling IP6 (which by the way makes no sense as XCHG needs one) - still didn't help.
Would you suggest to rebuild virtual server and reinstall EXCH all together as troubleshooting Windows issues may be lengthy?

Thanks folks! I think I have a clue what's going through don't know how fix it yet.
The problem is with DNS unable to resolve my main domain vwc.local. It makes some XCHG services to time out when starting. The error messages in the event log suggest about domain being unavailable
to contact.
When I tried resolving vwc.local with nslookup and ping it pinged THE OLD domain's IP address. When I setup server at home I specified this old ip address but changed it to a new one when I
moved box to the office. In the office everything worked very well - I introduced office's desktops to vwc.local, built a virtual box, introduced it the domain as well. Everything was good up until I started messing with XCHG. Now the domain is not resolvable
even though I made to be pinged to the new address by updating network adapter settings at the main server by selecting some checkboxes. But the vwc.local is still not available at VW where the XCHG is hosted on. When I open Server Manager/AD DS/AD DS
manager it gives me an error message about the DC being unavailable to contact.
How do I fix this domain mess now? Now I have 3 issues to deal with:
1. My remote desktop stopped working due to trial expiration even though I licensed server for 5 RDSCALs. This is a known issue with RDS and AD DS roles hosted on one physical box. Nobody seems
to know the step by step solution to the issue. I just got bunch of recommendations that I already followed. It looks like I need to call Microsoft and have them deal with their buggy software altogether.
2. DNS/domain issues described below. Something very weird. May I try re prepping the AD DS on the main server. I didn't try that may be I will.
3. XCHG not receiving messages from the outside.
:) Let's just focus on DNS/domain for a moment.

Travel & expenses: Remove User settings option

Hi,
we have implemented Travel & Expense module in Portal using ABAP web dynpro. We are at EP 7.0 EHp2.
Navigation : ESS -> Travel & expenses -> My Trips and Expenses
Here If the User perform Right Click option then he get the option for : " User settings" and if he choose User settings then he further get the option to select the column / tab's to hide or unhide.
So we want to disable the right click option for the user OR at least remove the option of User Settings from User.

Hi Vishal,
as far as I know, the right click cannot be disabled. I have two suggestions:
1. Modify the WebDynpro Application and add the Parameter WDDISABLEUSERPERSONALIZATION = X.
2. Alternatively (this is what we did) you can call the application WD_GLOBAL_SETTING in SE80 and globally disable all user personalization for all applications. This avoids endusers from calling helpdesk because "fields are gone" etc. pretty well...

User settings in VC

Hello,
At runtime in Portal, when you right click on the VC application, you see the context menu of "User settings of Transparent Container - Generic" -> Hide Transparent Container, wherein the user could actually hide the whole VC application!
I would like to know two things:
1. How could I disable that option for the users?
2. How to unhide the Transparent Container?
To unhide certain parts / areas of the application is easy but I would like to know how that could be done for the whole application.

I am facing a similar problem for a textedit control in my abapwebdynpro application.
I read through the forum and came to that it is some personalisation settings issue. I tried the solution they said also. But still my control is hidden.
I went through your document attached in the reply of the above post also. But I don't have the admin logina and moreover this is for a single control of an application.
Can you please help me out.

WDJ - Right click- User settings , not working at all times

We are working on SAP Netweaver 7.4.
We have developed WDJ applications in PO server and are displaying the application in SAP EP using the remote iview method.
Our requirement: We need to show the users , right click ->User settings so that they can modify the view.
Steps taken: The allowuserpersonalisation has been set to True.
Issue:
Not all of the remote WDJ application are showing the User settings.
For e.g: If it is working for WDJ application A, it is not working for WDJ application B.
Here is where it gets more confusing !!!:
If role A contains WDJ application A and role B contains WDJ application B.
then:
1) if WDJ application B is assigned to the role A, then the User settings start working for it
2) if WDJ application A is assigned to the role B, then the User settings still work for it
3) if WDJ application B is assigned to the role C, then the User settings do not work.
Can anyone please help?

normal right mouseclick is disabled as of 710 I guess, I assume you mean the ctrl+alt+right mouse click, right?
Also , I am not sure I fully understand your A-B-C example. Can you please elaborate it in a less abstract way? Can you show concrete examples what is not working regarding the end-user personalization? Are all wd java applications running in a non-standalone way when you test end-user personalization?

User Settings JDialog

Hi,
I have a jdialog in cardlayout which acts as a user settings frame for my main application. On each of the panels is some user settings function (general, file settings etc.). On each of these panels i have action listeners to handle the events that relate to each section. All this works fine but what i would really like is to have 3 'master' ok, cancel and apply buttons to approve all the actions the user has made. This approach is more in keeping with how most applications behave. I have no idea how to begin on this, i would think some kind of pending actions list would be needed which would enable the �apply� and �ok� buttons once there is actions waiting but I�m not sure how to pass these actions from the individual panel buttons. Any help, advice or sample code would be greatly appreciated.

What i need to do is create something like this with an ok / cancel / apply button however the difference is that the body pane of the example is just a simple panel. what i need is a cardlayout and a change made to any of the cards must filter through to the option pane and as such enable / disable the correct buttons and gather the actions needed. Is there any way i can achieve this? any help or example code would be greatly appreciated.

Adobe CS6 - AAME 3.1 - User settings

Hi,
Am trying to create an Enterprise Deployment Package for Adobe Creative Suite 6 applications individually. I have created the MSI file using AAME 3.1. I have also tested the installation in my Build i.e Windows Everything works well and good so far. Now, I have captured the User settings and HKCU Registries to suppress i.e say First launch or Welcome or startup screens.
Now,
I am looking for way to add these User Files and Registries in the AAME Tool Generated MSI. will that work ?
or
Can I create a Transform for MSI and add these files to the Transform file? will that be possible?
or
Is there any PROPERTY that can adde to the MSI to disable first launch screens?
