Disable voice at login

My daughter's iBook G4 (10.4.11) has the text-to-speech and field outlining turned on for the account login screen, i.e. as you select each field in the login screen the field gets a black outline around it and the computer voice announces the name of the field -- like Assistive features for disabled users have been activated.
I've checked that the Universal Access preferences are not enabled.
She does have Speech preferences turned on for one of the two accounts on her machine, but that should not turn on the assistive behavior during login, as far as I know.
I removed speechsynthesisserver from the login items, and it seemed to fix the problem for the subsequent login, but it returned after logging out.

Click here and follow the instructions.

Thanks for reaching out to us, tobrien459! May I ask what readouts you are getting in order for me to make sure I provide you with the most accurate information?
I'm thinking you are looking for this:
From the Home screen, press the Left Soft Key
    Menu > Settings > Accessibility > Easy Set-up.
    2. Follow the screen prompts to choose settings for
Full Readout, Menu Readout, Digit Dial Readout,
Alert Readout, TXT Message Readout, Browser
Readout, and Flip Open & Talk
Let me know if this is what you need.

  • How to disable voice commands on a N82?

I have recently bought a Nokia N82. Since I started using the mp3 player, I have been dialing random people, and I realized it happens when I am wearing the provided headset (HS-43). The largest button on the headset remote activates voice commands.
The problem is that the headset remote is hanging where my arms are when I'm resting them on my stomach. This has caused quite a lot of random calls while I'm in a conversation (not wearing the earplugs ;-). Luckily I haven't said anything that could get me fired from my job, yet :-)
My question is; how do I *completely* disable voice commands?
(I would have assumed something trivial like "go to voice commands, settings, disable" - but I can't seem to find that option?!! :-(

me too have the same problem...
its difficult to remember to remove the headset every time you remove it from the ear...
R u sure this feature cannot be disabled?
    Regards,

are you talking about voiceover where the phone is reading things out loud to you? you have to double tap things in voiceover in order to select them. you'll need to go to settings > general > accessibility > and turn off voiceover there

    I have already gone to

dated all the way back to 2012, I have decide to leave well enough along and not let the GUEST button bother me.
I rarely if ever take my Mac out of the house so I have not given much thought to theft or loss, but, in the event of it leaving my house by another way, the slim possibility of recovering it is worth the annoyance, I'll get over it.

Just to confirm you want to stop users creating Financial reports using the Reporting Studio? If so then you would remove the role of "Report Designer" in there provisioning.

Thanks John. We just want to disable user using FR report prepared in Reporting Studio and put under "Explore" of Workspace. We found that we can't do that once the user is login into Workspace. The only way we can do is to setup the security setting of each FR report based on the group setting.

Not without login as admin.   To avoid using credentials to login to SQL, use Windows Credentials instead.

  • How do I disable voice over from my ipad while it's locked?

How can I disable voice over from my ipad while it's locked? I accidentally activated it on my mum's ipad and now she's panicking! Haven't been able to put in her password so a little bit of help asap would be appreciated. Tried double tapping the passcode in but still didn't work! Thanks

How did you turn it on, via Settings or a triple-click of the home button ? You could try triple-clicking the home button and see if that turns it off, and if it does you can then change what a triple-click does via Settings > General > Accessibility > Triple-Click Home.
If that doesn't turn it off then you can either turn it off directly on the iPad (you need to use a tap-to-select and then double-tap to activate/type process and 3 fingered scrolling ; so to type a digit of the passcode tap the digit so that it gets a box around it and then double-tap it to type it) to go into Settings > General > Accessibility and turn VoiceOver 'off', or you can do it by connecting to your computer's iTunes : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4064

  • Disable Voice Dialling 7.1

Anyone has an idea how I can disable voice dialing from the lock screen on 7.1?
It used to be under security (passcode) but the option has vanished in 7.1

    Hello
I just updated my Iphone 5 to iOS 7.1.
When my iphone is in my pocket I activate voice control all the time by mistake and so I call random people all the time.
I just really want to turn voice dialing off, until iOS 7.1 I fixed this problem by going to settings-->general-->pass code lock on-->turn off voice dial
But now when I wanna do the same there's no option anymore to turn voice dial off...
    Can anybody help me?
    iPhone 5, iOS 7.1
This solved my question by pesun  on Mar 12, 2014 1:20 AM
solved, it just deleted my settings with the iOS 7.1 update.
    1. Turn Siri on --> settings --> general --> Siri
    2. (just for the case you deactivated Siri here, not sure if you need to do that)
settings --> general --> restrictions --> Siri on
    3. settings --> passcode --> Turn Passcode on --> Allow Access when Locked --> Siri OFF
and it works better than before since you can't activate Voice Control anymore when your iPhone is locked...

  • Disabling certificate-based login

    Hello all,
does anybody know how to disable certificate-based login in SSL sessions? We are running iMS 5.2.1.
My webmail server should run on HTTPS but only accept password-based logins. Our users don't have certificates so certificate-based login is not needed. When I connect to webmail with Netscape Communicator 4.8 I get annoying message "No user certificate ... you do not have a Personal Certificate to authenticate yourself. The site may choose not to give you access without one."
    Thanks, Vito

    Yes it does.
    I tried this.
Apparently, the server doesn't need to trust its own
    certificate's CA
But remember that your clients MUST trust
your CA in order to avoid the popup window saying
that the certificate advertised by your server belongs to
    an untrusted Certificate Authority
(add the CA's certificate to their personal database)
    Good luck,
    VIncent MAZARD
