"disable voice control" is supposedly a features in iOS5?

How do you do it? NO, not VoiceOver. Not Siri. But plain 'ol voice control. Why is this listed as one of the 200 new features of iOS5?

yes and yes. I did state that i've tried resetting my phone (holding the buttons) and turning it off (holding the lock button until it asks to slide to power down.)
That is not a reset. A reset is when you hold both buttons until the silver apple appears.
The next step would be to restore the phone as new. If that doens't work, take the phone in for servicing.

are you talking about voiceover where the phone is reading things out loud to you? you have to double tap things in voiceover in order to select them. you'll need to go to settings > general > accessibility > and turn off voiceover there

  • Disable voice control

How can I disable the voice control in my Iphone 3GS? Is really annoying and workless. thank you!

    Worse than worthless.
When I have my bluetooth headset turned on, the slightest wrong nudge autodials a random contact.
Not helpful when the headset is in my pocket or glove compartment.
Perhaps if at least the contact list had a "voice dialable" flag so I could only try to match numbers
I would actually use voice dialing for...

  • Disable voice controls on 4s?

i have a 4s and my home button no longer works (thanks to my teething 14 mo old) so i had to disable siri and now my voice control is dialing everyone constantly! help! everything the internet says to do doesn't work!!!

    Hi!
I will explain exactly my problem:
I have a simply BT handsfree, when in enter on car it pairs automatically with the n97.
I have to say that i use the handsfree only to play music on the car... is the main function for my use.
Ok, when is just paired and i try to push "play" on BT "HF" the mobile starts the voice command tutorial, the last week i've activated by mistake the voice commands and at this moment the phone waits for a command, not plays music.
It's very curious because when just buyed the handsfree it just directly plays music when i push "play" on it, i want to understand the reason because actually it doesn't works like the first days.
I've checked that if i push 3 times the volume buttons on handsfree it "activates" the music function and i can push play button to listen music.
I really don't use voice commands, i don't like so much... this is the reason of my question, if it's possible to disable it totally to avoid voice commands waitings...
Sorry for my bad english, i try to write as best without using a traductor
    thank you!

  • How do you off voice control on iPhone 4?

Hey, recently my phone has this problem that the voice control kept activating itself when I am using my phone sometimes and even when I was away from it. It automatically calls a random someone from my contacts after activating itself, so it gets very embarrassing when my friends asked why did i called them. Help please

You can't disable voice control. The only setting is to turn off the Voice Dial feature: Settings->General->Passcode Lock->Voice Dial

  • Voice Control randomly turns on

I have a problem that is driving me crazy. I purchased a 32gb iPhone 3GS about 3 months ago and I have had an issue with the voice control since the day I brought it home. I have an auxiliary audio jack in my car so I always connect my iPhone to my car stereo to play music. For some reason whenever my iPhone is connected in this way the voice control constantly comes on.
I understand that holding down the home button on the face of the phone is what is "supposed" to bring up the voice control option but that is not the case in this instance. Rather I will be listening to music, or simply pick the phone up while connected so I can change the song (but before I have actually touched any part of the phone) and the voice control will come on - stopping the song and forcing me to hit "cancel" in order to get back to the music. This is incredibly frustrating because it's happening while I drive and what makes it worse is the fact that since the phone is on voice control, and connected to my stereo, whenever I move it the sharp crackling from sound going through the microphone is broadcast through my car's speakers.
I have read through a few threads and there doesn't seem to be any way to deactivate voice control - but I could be wrong. Does anyone have any idea how to permanently shut off voice control? Has anyone else had this same problem? I can't figure out why this would be happening or what I can do to prevent it. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I'm having the same problem except it happens when I'm trying to use voice dialling. I speak into my bluetooth headset to dial a number and it starts up my music or other things. I did find something on youtube on how you can disable voice control altogether by downloading some program but haven't tried it because I don't know if it will disable all voice control including voice dialling or just voice control for the rest of the phone. Here's a link to what I found on youtube...... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wE46y1bUpfQ
If anyone tries this could you please post to let me know if it disables voice dialling. Thanks.

  • Silencing the iPhone Voice Control

My iPhone sounds a confirmation tone whenever I press and hold the home button to activate voice control, even if it's in silent. The only thing I can do is go into voice control, and turn the volume all the way down, but then it stays silent when the phone is in ring mode.
Is this behavior default? If it is, it makes no sense.
What can I do about it? (I talked to an Apple representative and he said I could disable voice control via restrictions, but said ability has elluded my efforts)

You can disable access to voice control when the iPhone is locked, Settings>General>PassCode Lock>Voice Dial Off.
But, that is the only way to disable it. You can leave feedback here:

  • Disabling Controls in the Full Featured User Interface

    Hi Ppl,
I do not want few controls (variables view, stack view) to be displayed in my full featured User Interface. What is the best way to do this. Are there configuration parameters(UserInterface.xml) that could make these controls  in visible. Or Should these controls be make in visible only through the Visible Property.
    Thanks

    Hi Dennis,
Will Deleting the controls solve the purpose ? I tried moving the controls from the visible part of the front panel. but when the code was run the controls came back to their original position. Then I discovered that the full featured user interface has some code to set the position, size etc of the controls. This part of the code also checks the number of controls present. So I was wondering if just editing the configuration alone could disable the controls.
    Thanks

  • The new Voice Control feature

Hi there. While looking at the features of the new iPod touch, I noticed that the Voice Control thing from the iPhone 3Gs would be included in it. Will it be included on an iPod touch software update if you have a second generation? Because I'd quite like to have it on mine. If not, is there any other way of getting it on mine, like do I have to buy the earphones with the Remote plus the Mic?

It does not appear to be. It is also not on the "current" 8 gig Touch. There has generally been at least one significant feature that you have to buy the newest iPod in order to get. I suspect that Voice Command is going to be that feature. Sorry.
