Disable ZEN-Partition
we have a zen-partition on all PCs. we will disable it, but the policy
does not work. So how can change the linux-scripts so that this partition
will no long be used?

how do you do that?
you could check the runme.s file in /bin and put the part which disables the
linux partition into a imaging script.
If you have already compiled drivers or have linux.2 please put them on

Linux script - disable ZEN-Partition
we have found out that we start with the zupdate.sig for activating some
new jobs. But what we need is a 2-3 line script to disable the zen-

Problems disabling the "Create ZEN partition" with PXE
I have a new PXE server running ZEN7 on OES2. I have been able to get all the functionality of my older PXE server on Netware, with one exception. The Linux-based PXE server prompts to create a ZEN imaging partition every time a system is imaged. I have this disabled in the server policy, which appears to be working in every other aspect (like showing the menu everytime PXE boot occurs). Any ideas?

Disable data partition in Micropho
I'm going through the Zen Microphoto PDF manual and I can't seem to find an option to completely disable the data-only partition. I know I can do this on the Zen Micro. Is this option available on the Micrphoto I don't actually own a Microphoto so I can't test it out physically. Thanks for the help!
The Removable Disk feature is the same on the Zen MicroPhoto as it is on the Zen Micro. You can choose the size, or to disable it.

Disabling Table partitioning set at ORACLE_HOME level
DB version:11.2
OS : Solaris 10/ AIX 6.1
We had 1 Database (wmprod) running from an 11gR2 ORACLE_HOME installation which had Table partitioning enabled using
the following commands
-- Shutdown all instances running from this ORACLE_HOME
cd $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/lib
make -f ins_rdbms.mk part_on
$ORACLE_HOME/bin/relink all
-- Startup all instancesI created two other DBs from this ORACLE_HOME. Later i realised that the 2 new DBs created didn't need Partitioning and we don't have licences for this option for these 2 DBs.
We cannot disble the table partitioning at ORACLE_HOME level using
make -f ins_rdbms.mk part_onbecause the 1st DB (wmprod) needs Table partitioning functionality.
Is there any way we could disable the Table Partitioning at DB level for the newly created 2 databases ?
Edited by: GarryB on Sep 7, 2011 3:05 AMHi,
You must install a New Oracle Home, and move your database to new Oracle Home with feature disabled.
Also to enable or disable a particular database feature for an Oracle home, shut down the database and use the chopt tool.

Zen 7 Boot CD works with Zenworks 4.01 ir7 BUT???
Hi,
I just tried the Zen 7 Boot CD from
http://www.zenimaging.info/downloads/zenworks/
The Zen 7 Boot CD does detect the network card for the Dell Optiplex 745,
where as the Zenworks 4.01 ir7 boot cd does not.
I tried installing a Zen Partition from the Zen Boot CD, modifying the
settings.txt first to my environment. The Zen Partition installed fine!
I then configured the Zen Partition.
What I'm noticing is the Zen Partition from the Zen 7 boot cd takes an
extremely long time to load, where it says "Initializing Hardware". It
takes a few minutes to initialize hardware then it checks the imaging
server for Work To Do.
The previous computers on my network uses the Zen PArtition from the
Zenworks 4.01 ir7 boot cd and it loads a lot faster.
The imaging server on our Netware 6.5 SP5 server is Zenworks 4.01 ir7.
Could the reason for the Zen Partition created from the Zen 7 boot cd
taking an extremely long time to load at the "initializing hardware"
coould be because the imaging server is actually Zenworks 4.01 ir7?
Some one suggested that I try the Zenworks 6.5 SP2 boot cd from
http://www.zenimaging.info/downloads/zenworks/
to install the Zen Partition, but I couldn't find it at this link.
Does anyone know where I can download Zenworks 6.5 SP2 boot cd?
Thanks for your help!On Thu, 15 Mar 2007 20:06:13 GMT, [email protected] wrote:

no, it is because it uses a different kernel and has a lot more drivers to
test

How to install OS to Disk 1 Partition 1 with MDT 2012
Hello.
Sorry for my poor English.
I got some pc which have more than one harddisk.I need to deploy windows 7 pro to the second disk.
So,At fist ,I need to format the fisrt partition in seconde disk,i disable the Partition And Format sequence and i add a new sequence name Format Disk 1 Partition 1 to do a command: diskpart.exe %scriptroot%\d1p1.txt。the content of d1p1.txt
is below:
select disk 1
select partition 1
format fs=ntfs quick
assign letter=c
active
exit
but it is fail to do this, because the letter c had sign to the first disk partition 1.If i change the letter in d1p1.txt to another one ,the unattend.xml will not work! I had try to use another diskpart script to remove
the letter of first disk partition 1
select disk 0
select partition 1
remove
select disk 1
select partition 1
format fs=ntfs quick
assign letter=c
active
exit
it will work. But when i login to the windows first time,i will get a error:"Unable
to find the SMS Task Sequencer and the Tasksquence stop.
any one can help me? thanksIf you want to keep the original partition, I would recommend using the client task sequence in a "refresh" mode, start
\\server\deploymentshare$\scripts\litetouch.vbs from the old PC (*NOT* from WinPE), and start the deployment from there.

Disable PartitionListeners on service prior to cluster shutdown
We're running a Coherence cluster of 70 storage nodes and a further 10 storage-disabled tcp-extend nodes, all running DefaultCacheServer.
I have a PartitionListener configured on a distributed cache service which sends an email to a distribution list in the event of a 'PARTITION_LOST' event. However, currently when the storage-enabled processes are stopped (by killing the processes), we get spurious emails with partition losses due to the cluster being shut down.
Is there a tidy, built in way to disable the partition listeners across a cluster before the storage nodes are stopped, and avoid sending these spurious mails? Note that the mails are not sent by the process that is currently stopping, but by one of the other processes when the PartitionEvent is detected.
I've tried using of Cluster.shutdown() but this does not stop the listeners from being called. I also tried using Cluster.isRunning() in the listener to determine whether to send the error email, but it appears the cluster gets restarted (and isRunning() returns true again) if CacheFactory.getCache() is called after Cluster.shutdown() has been called, so this is not a safe mechanism either.
My current solution is to register each partition listener as a JMX bean on the management service (Registry) as it's instantiated, and expose a disable() method. I then run a standalone java class which joins the cluster and iterates over those registered beans calling disable on each one, prior to stopping the storage processes.
The above solution works, but am I missing a built-in way of doing this? I'd rather use an out of the box solution if there's one that fits the bill.
Thanks in advance,
Giles TaylorHi Giles,
I don't think that there is a feature for this particular purpose, as for Coherence the death of a node is a usual event, it does not have the concept of "I am going to kill all nodes, now".
However, it is very easy to to implement it on your own.
Just have a special-purpose cache, on which you register an event listener. The event-listener listening for a certain change in the cache (e.g. you put a specific value to a specific key, to indicate that full shutdown will commence now) should then set a static flag which indicates that full cluster shutdown has started and therefore you do not need to send emails on partition loss from now on. Alternatively you can do the same thing with an InvocationService (that invocation service needs to be started on all nodes). Alternatively you can also put that special entry simply into a replicated cache (so checking it can be locally carried out).
Then in the partition listener you just check the static flag or the replicated cache, according to whichever approach from the previous ones you chose, and you send the mail only if you did not indicate that full shutdown is commencing.
Then if you want to do a full shutdown, you first carry out the action according to the approach which you chose, and only then start to kill nodes.

Repair recovery partition of hp dv6 7002tu without using disc
i installed windows 8 64bit after buying this notebook and i didnt installed it's original windows 7...now i want to install its original windows 7 from recovery drive which is by default "D" drive but this drive contains only 1 recovery folder and 3 files of 1kb sized each but this partition says 3.08gb free of 22.0gb....now when i start my laptop and hold F11 or shift+F11 then screen becomes blank and error beep sounds continously....this shows that my recovery drive is damaged now how can i repair it without using any hp recovery disc drive....??
Hello shah129,
You’re having a problem running a recovery from the recovery partition. When you upgraded to windows 8 you disabled that partition.
In order to go back to Windows 7 you will have to order the recovery media from hp.com.
Let me know if this helps. -
Cache Memory Allocator \ Short Term Memory Allocator Issues
Hi all
I have a number of identically configured (High School) Servers which are giving me the same memory errors (some more frequently than others) and I've run out of ideas.
They are all HP Proliant DL360 G6 Servers, NetWare 6.5 sp8 with eDir 8.8 sp5.
The error messages are :
"Cache memory allocator out of available memory." followed by "Short term memory allocator is out of memory. xxx attempts to get more memory failed. request size in bytes xxxxxxxx from Module SWEEP.NLM"
The module referred to is always "SWEEP.NLM" (Sophos Anti-virus). A Server reset solves the problem but it is normally back within a month.
I've posted below a config.txt and segstats.txt from one of the servers.
I would be grateful if someone could help me with this as it's now becoming a 'headache'.
Cheers
Neil Hughes

Somewhat. From the time of day, and the loading of commvault modules
inbetween, this looks like a combined backup / AV scan issue. The
requests of Sophos are comparably big in size, and they vary a lot. That
will lead to fragmentation of your memory, until the memory can't be
allocated in one chunk any more. It also *seems* as if Sophos actually
scans the data while it gets backed up. That is *bad*.

I get the same error when I execute "startWeblogic.cmd" from domain folder and bin folder.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.Hi,
Few comments here...
1) Seems your environment is not setup correctly but that is not the big cause here.....
2) This one is important, it seems that you installed weblogic using a different account and are trying to run it from a different account.
So the account with which you are trying to run weblogic does not have proper permission on
MW_HOME\user_projects\domains\bifoundation_domain\config\fmwconfig\bootstrap\cwallet.sso
Right click on the file and go in properties ..
Enable full control, modify,Read and execute, read and write permissions for the user you are trying to start weblogic and apply it.
if this simple steps doesnt work, please enable more logging by adding "-Djava.security.debug=jpspolicy" to startup option and grab more details.
Good Luck let me know if this works. -
Can't boot my device OS or Bios
hello ..
First of all my deice is HP Pavilion 14-b109sx Ultrabook
her's what happened ..
well ... I just bought this new notebook ,Its really light and it booted really fast and the design is good ... problem is i wanted to make a second partition out of C partition which was more than 600 GB
So i opened disk management from windows trying to shrink it to a 100 GB partition then make a second partition next to this one .. unfortunately windows couldn't shrink to less than 300GB ... that wasn't fine by me i needed these 200GB so i downloaded some tool that allows such a change , meaning i forced windows to take that action even when it kept telling me that its not a good idea
that tool needed a reboot to make the change
1-resize C partition to 100GB
2-Create new Drive 500GB
(numbers are not exactly as i wrote them its a little bit more i just don't remember the exact values)
I rebooted .. when it booted again that tool had a preboot operation to change C before it's mounted .. I guess thats what happened .. i dunno. However , the tool didn't complete the job , It closed immediately and the notebook rebooted to findout windows 8 complaining and not able to start
i thought i was the only one who came across this problem but when i googled i found out that this oftenly happen when you make any change to c partition or when you try to dual boot windows 8 with any other OS
I did found a solution to this using a tool that does automatic repair to the C partition to get the bootmgr fixed correctly
*** I had to enable an option from Bios called Legacy Support
***When that option is Enabled I must reboot to be able to get to bios again otherwise i keep booting to winodws when ipress F10 to get into Bios same as recovery and same for F9 (boot device option) i need to open up winodws and restart to be able to get into any of these
before i get started with the repair i resized C partition as it was before Shrinking
the tool made made me able to boot windows 8 sucssesfully but not recovery
when i try to boot into recovery using F11 stroke it continues booting like i did nothing at all (BTW it says System recovery mode at the lower left corner when i press F11)
I Tried to boot into recovery from Hp recovery tool at windows but it said (Disabled : recovery partition is removed) under the recovery option so i used the same tool i used to shrink the partition to find any lost partitions on the hard drive since there was 400MB unallocated at the beggining of the HDD and it did find partition named WINRE , I restored it then the (Disabled : recovery partition is removed) note was removed and i could initiate booting into recovery mode , when i did it rebooted the notebook but i got the same result booting into windows instead .
i found threads online saying if you hit the restart button while pressing shift key you will get to recovery menu , and it did got me into recovery menue with all the options as before but once i try to do reset or even opening command prompt i got an error with a code 80070490 asking me to restart (Like i had any other option -_-)
At this point i should've known that I MUST ask for help before i make things even worse , but i Didn't
I found another forum suggesting using EasyBCD to correct bootmgr settings, I downloaded it and i found an option to automatically fix mbr settings (I love anything that says automatically ) i pressed it and rebooted
now
I can't get to Bios
I can't boot Windows
I can't boot recovery
I can't boot anyother Device
(I ruined it)
that was the story of my life
All i ever wanted was a second Partition , I didnt know it was a complicated task undwer Windows 8
Currently i had the Legacy support Disabled so i can't even boot any other usb drive to fix this
removing HDD is not an option (Warrenty will be void)
There was something written about UEFI i didnt really understand it but they said it's a new alternative boot method that will replace Bios so i figured it had something to do with Bios not being able to work
I need help ... my notebook is as useful as A brick right now ...
If any further information is needed just tell me
thank youHello Rhythm0303
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand that the computer appears to be ruined after trying to add a partition. Unfortunately, I do have to agree with you. There is no other valid troubleshooting can suggest. Since it is new, I would contact HP phone support for hardware assistance.

Error while running / creating webcenter portal app
Hi,
I had a fresh installation of Oracle JDeveloper Studio Edition Version 11.1.1.6.0. I installed the oracle.webcenter.customization_bundle and oracle.webcenter.framework_bundle as well. Now whenever I want to create a new Webcentre Portal App it's missing out the folders like application sources, in Web content it's missing out 'images' and 'oracle' folders.
Now even if i open a webcentre app taken from a different machines and run I'm getting this error.

How to resolve it?Hi,
The path to your JDeveloper installation has a space in it - "D:\Oracle middleware1". This is known to cause issues with the Integrated WLS.
I suggest you reinstall JDeveloper into a directory without space for e.g. D:\Oracle_Middleware_1 or even better a shorter path like D:\OR_MW_1.
