Disabled Features

I am trying to install a new printer that I bought last year (because it matches the 3 other printeres I have). I just recently tried to download the drivers from the disk that came with the printer. I realize that the drivers needed to be updated, so I downloaded the drivers from HP website for my HP Officejet Pro 8600.
Issue 1. I keep getting a message during the download that states "Disabled Features- an adminstrator has disabled some features of the selected device. For more information, check with an adminstrator o rconsult the device documentation."
Issue 2. After finishing the install, and attempting to print, I get blank spacing where words should be printed, intermittently throughout the whole document.
Question- Is this caused by the "disabled feature" warning? If so, how do I correct it? If not caused by the "Disabled Features" warning, how do I fix it?
(FYI: I have uninstalled, and then reinstalled the drivers from the HP website 2x already, and attempted to reinstall from the disk that came with the printer)

I would like to help with the printer and printing issues you're facing with your Officejet 8600 connected to your Mac running 10.9.
I would like to know the following:
At which point of the installation do you see the message "Disabled Features, an administrator has disabled some features of the selected device", during the download, before the install starts, during, or at the end, for example?
How are you connecting the printer to your Mac (USB, Wireless, Ethernet)?
Can you print a quality page and let me know if there was an issue with the quality of the page or if it printed? (Select Setup, Reports, Print Quality Report)
Include any steps you have tried as well.

Way to enable the Webkit disabled features in non-application sandbox?

Are there any plans to re-enable the webkit-disabled features at least for the non-application sandboxes? For example - if you have an iframe that is hosting a pure html5 application, then it would be nice to use the html5 application cache feature, this way we do not have to write custom code to use the air/flash version of persisted storage.
In other words: Is it in your roadmap to provide a sandbox that can run with all webkit features enabled? Such that a pure HTML5 app can be written and deployed on the web and via air.

How do I tell Apple to fix their software like apps that play sound even though the sound is turned off and not being able to disable features you hate like game center

Apple is suppose to be the pinnacle of usability and, yet, I want to throw my new IPhone 4s as far as I can and watch is smash into a million pieces on concrete. Seriously, I've already got three things that irritate the **** out of me. First, there are Apple apps that insist on playing sound even though the sound is turned off. If I flick a switch to turn the sound off, I want the sound off!!!! Second, if I do not want a totally unnecessary feature like Game Center, I should be able to disable it. I completed most of the Angry Bird levels with 2 or 3 stars and now I have to start over from square one. Maybe, this happened when I upgraded to the 4s but it sure seemed to happen when I joined Game Center. Tomorrow, I am going to reset my 4s to factory defaults to try to get rid of my Game Center account. I don't want Game Center! I do need Game Center! I hate Game Center! Finally, I had an alarm go off to wake me up and there was a Snooze button but no button to turn the alarm off. I flicked the slider to access the main screen expecting to see something to turn the alarm off but there was nothing. The alarm just kept alarming. I had to warm boot my IPhone to shut the alarm off! Really, Apple!!!!

The sound is turned off. Only, some Apple apps like YouTube and Siri make sound when the sound is turned off. It is very embarrassing when this happens at work. My question was how do I tell Apple to fix this?
Turning off game center does not work. The games just prompt me to sign in when they are started.I have tried everything I can find online to stop this behavior. It is annoying and should not happen. My question was how do I tell Apple to fix this?
The alarm went off. There was a green thing that looked like a button but pressing it did nothing. There was a red button that said snooze. I did not want to snooze. I wanted to turn the alarm off. I slid the bar to unlock the phone and there were no running apps with a button to press. The alarm just keep running. I have not had this problem since it first occurred. The alarm now shuts off when I just unlock the phone. It may have happened because I had another alarm app running. The two may have interfered with each other. I would like to tell Apple about it.
It also annoys me that the button that closes apps leaves the phone app running. If I press on a number at 6:00 AM to get information about who called me, the phone automatically dials the person back and my natural reaction is to press on the button to close the phone app but the phone keeps dialing this person at 6:00 AM. It is a bad design. I would like to tell Apple about it.
Finally, I looked all over Apple's site to try to find someplace I could send them a polite message to let them know that I was not happy with these "features" but could not find anything. It is extremely frustrating to have issues with a product and not being able to tell the manufacturer about it. So, you grow up!.
When trying to fix the Game Center issue, I saw a link someone posted to report issues with the IPad to Apple. The answer I am looking for is where is the link to report issues with the IPhone.

Since I disabled features in the people widget, I cannot access gmail

I was so annoyed at the people widget covering up my emails that I disabled all the features IN it instead of the whole widget (which I have since learned how to do) and now I cannot access gmail with firefox. I can with internet explorer though, but prefer to use firefox.

Touch pad disable feature

On the HP ENVY 4 Notebook PC There is a feature which disables and re-enables the touchpad by tapping twice in the top left-hand corner (where there is a small grey rectangle to indicate the position to tap to tun the touchpad off and on). What is the procedure for disabling this feature? (I find I often accidentally disable the touchpad accidentally and would rather the feature was switched off)

Hi,
Open windows Control Panel and open Synaptics ( you can also access this via Mouse....Settings tab....Settings button ). The option you need to disable is' 'Double tap to disable touchpad' - the exact location of this setting can vary depending on the Synaptics version you have and to some degree the hardware. An example of its location in Synaptics 8.1 can be seen in the image below - just remove the highlighted check mark, click Close and then Click Apply.

Disabling Features Permanently

I work in a Graphics Department and I have an annoying boss who doesn't seem to understand what's so wrong with playing his iTunes radio really loud for everyone to hear. I'm generally pretty knowledgeable when it comes to figuring things like this out, but strictly on PC's mostly. We use Macs in our department and I'm just not as familiar with the inner workings of them as I'd like to be.
So my question is, is there anyway to permanently disable the Radio feature in iTunes without setting Parental Controls? Is there some file or setting I can change to just cause the Radio not to work at all? Or even go as far as block some ports to prevent it from connecting?
Don't know if I'm breaking any forums rules or anything by posting this, but not really intending to do any harm. Just to save our ears from crappy music.

Edit the user form you are using and check the "No Default Buttons" option (in BPE)
or if editing the XML should look like below

This will remove ALL default buttons, so you will have to explicitly add the buttons you would like to have in the form as part of the form code.

nevetheless offer a version of sort where one can supply a function pointer to do

1. Wouldn't it make sens to document that, so that when one wants to sort at
least one knows about aq workaround?
2. Also can you explain me, what binary compatibility would break if this particular
function was enabled. It can't be there, and I have the impression that you switched
off too much, that is there will be some functions that really MUST be disabled,
whereas others don't do harm, but there is no preprocessor switch to distinguish
between them.

If you still have an iPhone handy and have the SIM card you used for the phone, then temporarily put your SIM into the other phone and go into Settings and turn of iMessage. If not, the only alternative that I know of is the Support profile, However, you may what to search the More Like This section on the right side of the thread to see if any of the entries there have a green checkmark meaning they are answered.

Photoshop glitches my screen and disables features

Hi guys, I need some help. I was using Photoshop last night with no problem. However, when I opened it this morning, this happened. That small white square is the canvas and most of photoshop's features no longer work. That giant white L-shape is actually cutting off my entire viewing area. However, often times that white shape isn't white at all, but extremely glitchy. Case in point...
I can't think of anything that would've done this. The only thing that's been done to my Mac since last night is that I did a system software update. That's it. Does anybody know what's going on or seen something similar? This makes Photoshop completely unusable.

So I did that and it didn't work, though now I'm seeing more random things in that glitchy area, including stuff from my desktop that seems to slightly affect how I view the document if clicked.
I am really confused...

Safari update need to disable feature

Ever since I got the latest safari update, when I start typing a domain to visit safari brings up suggestive sites to visit as I type and I keep getting directed to different places unless I type the entire domain name. How can I turn this feature OFF?

You can turn on Private Browsing for a temporary work around. From the Safari Menu Bar click Safari/Private Browsing.
You'll see a pop up dialog explaining exactly what Private Browsing does.

Mplayer-svn disables features?

I just installed mplayer-svn through the AUR. For some reason, opengl is on the list of disabled video outputs.
I have a pretty nice nVidia 8800GT, which definitely supports opengl. Am I just mistaken and mplayer-svn is still "allowed" to use opengl2 through gl2, or is it completely ignoring opengl in all of its variations?
It's also possible that I'm asking a dumb question =-)

I tried to rename the file to .avi in case that was the problem, but it didn't help. The filetype is actually mp4 (and trying it with that extension didn't go anywhere).

How do I sign out of iCloud on my iPad, I can only select the disable feature and I want to get the software back to pre iOS.8. My account tracker app will not sync now because the update was installed.

I Always down load the updates but now I find that my account App does not sync. I cannot seem to be able to revert my software back to the pre IOS 8.0 update.

Unable to locate disabled features of Dreamweaver on Mac OS X?

I'm college student trying to follow this Adobe tutorial: Server behaviors, Databases, and Bindings in Dreamweaver CC
I'm sing Dreamweaver CC 2014 on Mac OS 10.9 (Mavericks). My goal is to get MySQL connection abilities within Dreamweaver.
So here's my question. The tutorial says that a file should exist here:
/Applications/Adobe Dreamweaver CC/Configuration/DisabledFeatures/Deprecated_ServerBehaviorsPanel_support.zxp
I'm able to get this far:
/Applications/Adobe Dreamweaver CC 2014/Configuration/
But inside this Configuration directory, I am not able to find a directory titled DisabledFeatures. I have installed Adobe Extension Manager CC, restarted Dreamweaver, all to no avail.
Any ideas what's going on? Alternatively, if you could just provide me with a direct link to the .zxp file(s) that would be great. Just need to get this working, please. Thank you....

In DW CC 2014, Server Behavior extension is available through the AddOns page, Can you please try the following steps:
1. Download/Install the latest Adobe Creative Cloud Application from creative.adobe.com and make sure to turn on File Sync.
2. Launch Dreamweaver. Goto Windows menu>>Browse AddOns.
3. Search for Server behavior in the AddOns page.
4. Now quit Dreamweaver.
5. After quitting Dreamweaver click the Install button against the Extension in the AddOns page.
7. Wait for some time for a notification to be displayed in the Creative Cloud Application. After successful installation of the extension you should receive a notification the Creative Cloud app saying "You installed the AddOn Server Behavior & Database"

How can I disable toolbar features when opening a file in a browser?

I am trying to create an application that loads a pdf in a browser and want to disable certain toolbar features so that the user is incapable of ever seeing them. I know how to do this manually by going to the toolbar settings, but the user can easily enable them as well doing the same process. How can I code this to enable and disable features of adobe reader without having to change the registry keys or by doing them manually? Is there a way to do this? Is there a command that I can type in the command prompt to do this? I am working in C++ on a windows app.
Basically, I am asking how to edit any/all Edit>Preferences by coding it or through command prompt when launching the pdf without having to do it manually.
