My ipod is diabled for 40 or so years. (This happens everytime I shut it off.) Usually, I plug it into my ihome and it works again but it isn't. MY home button doesnt work and I dont want to loose everything on it can someone help??

Connect the iPod to its syncing computer and restore via iTunes. If itunes *** for the passcode and you can't enter it, place the iPod in recovery mode and then restore the iPod. For recovery mode see:

Forgotten Restrictions Passcode Help
You will need to restore your device as New to remove a Restrictions passcode. Go through the normal process to restore your device, but when you see the options to restore as New or from a backup, be sure to choose New.

Sounds like a case of entering an incorrect passcode over and over. Only fix is to follow the instructions in that article you reference, HT1212, and it may take a couple tries to get it to work right.

As long as the apps are still available in the store, and you use the same iTunes account as you originally used to buy them, then you should be able to re-download them for free, and if you are in a country where you can re-download music then you should be able to re-download them as well : what you can re-download for free will appear under the Purchased link under Quick Links on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes

i have not used my i pod in a while mainly due to me getting the i phone and i pad but i decided to use it the other day and found that it says "I pod disabled for 22067896 minutes" (42 years) tried to restore in itunes but it says i have to enter pass code to connect. but ill be 61 before i can connect it =( what do i do

So I am trying to get into manage my account on appleid.apple.com. My ultimate goal is to edit my primary email address so that I can switch it over. I have had an iTunes account for years with no issue. Lately, I have been receiving the dreaded "This Apple ID has been disabled for security reasons" message every few weeks on my iPad 2(currenly, my only iOS device). I go through the process of reauthorizing my password and info and it works again for a while, then happens again some time later. It's getting annoying. I'm not sure what's changed. Only two computers are authorized to use my account and I am the only one who can log into either of them. No one knows my info and I live alone.
The only thing I can think is that it's a bot spamming my e-mail address and passwords in an attempt to hack my account. If that's the case, am I really going to have to go through this every few weeks just to use my iPad? Don't get me started on how stupid it is to have to type in your password to update existing apps. And that's usually when I find out, not when I actually purchase one.
Is anyone else having this issue? I'm wondering if it's more widespread. Some time ago, a chinese app was mysteriously purchased on my account. Apple refunded the purchase and reset my password. That was about the time that all of this started. The reviews on the app left no doubt that it was happening to numerous people and I have no idea how they would have forced a purchase on so many user accounts.

Slim "Id "x" respawning too fast: disabled for 5 minutes"
This error drives my crazy I changed to slim after the recent change of gdm.
Since I changed, when I boot my PC this error always occurs. Only solution so far is either to wait for 5 minutes or to change to another TTY#, login and try init 3 and then init 5 (which only works sometimes but most of the time delivers the same error).
The error doesn't occur when I REboot the PC.
I start slim via inittab with "x:5:respawn:/usr/bin/slim >& /dev/null"
I already tried the German Arch-Forum but got no reply.
There is a topic http://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=81159 with the "solution" to change inittab
"x:5:respawn:/usr/bin/slim >& /dev/null"
to
"x:5:once:/usr/bin/slim >& /dev/null"
but this doesn't work for me, slim then refuses completly to start.
I'd prefer to use the inittab method and not the daemon method...

"generally" X seems to work fine. I use Openbox without any problems. If I try /usr/bin/slim from init 3 it says: "Stale lockfile found, removing it" and then nothing happens - the console just stays on.
I haven't changed my Xorg for ages, I still use the same X configuration (besides updates) that I had years ago with kdm and then with gdm. Even when I switched from gdm to slim I just follwed to wiki and changed the Inittab line from gdm to slim.
Heres my Inittab and my Xorg.conf (to be honest I'm not really fit with Xorg configuration...)

EDIT: It seems to work now! Slim started without any errors. I will test that for some days to see if the problem is really gone now.
Just out of curiosity:
A lot seems to have changed in Xorg.conf since my old ~2years old config was made.
I had to turnoff boot logo manually and set Option "Composite" "Enable" but now everything seems to work by default?
Do you see any flaws in my xorg.conf? Any ideas for improvements (except metamodes)?
