Disabled iPad - WiFi Only - MDM Unlock Possible?

We have about 100 WiFi only iPads controlled an MDM. If a use forgets their unlock pin on campus (while they are connected to our WiFI) we can use our MDM to remotely unlock the iPad. However, if the user locks themselves out at home and then brings their iPad it in a "iPad Disabled. Please connect to iTunes." state, the iPad does not reconnect to our WiFi and so our only choice is to wipe and restore. (Most of our users that get locked out do not have iTunes setup on a desktop.) Is there any setting we could use to make even a locked iPad attempt to connect to our wireless network? Being able to remotely unlock instead of wiping would save us much time and trouble. I would not mind using something else (like apple configurator) to unlock the iPad locally. I just don't want to have to have wipe as my only unlock option. This problem occurs on iOS 5 and 6.

i bought my 4g iPod touch just 3 months ago fromt the US. Internet speed was just fine and working consistently while i was using a d-link router.
my Wi-Fi network is password protected and since has not affected the speeds on my pc or my iPad (wifi only). However, just 4 weeks ago, i bought a new router, an Aztec one. That has not improved or worsened the speeds on my pc or iPad, but worsens only my iPod touch, even though it says its connected and has a full signal strength.
Here are the symptoms:-
1. iMessage is now really slow as after i click send, the loading bar at the top lags.
2. i can't go on to google or any site or app that involves internet connection e.g. Facebook, Twitter
3. I can't purchase or get apps from the App store as the searching takes way too long.
4. Now as i pull down the notifications bar, it shows temperature but no stock; i can't even access the Stocks app
5. I can see the temperature for the day on the notifications, but i cant see the details for the rest of the week like i was able to
6. I now cant read any updated emails on Mail as it takes way too long
I live in a country called Brunei, and speeds are the worst there, yet they shouldn't be this slow especialy when my friends and other devices are working.
So, what's wrong? Is it my new router?

Have you tried a simple reset of your iPod to see if that helps? To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.
Otherwise, have you tried any of the troubleshooting mentioned in this Apple support document?

Does iMessage works on an iPad WiFi only(no 3G)?

I´m trying to activate iMessage on an iPad Wifi only(no 3G), but it fails saying there´s a problem with my network connection, the same network i use my iPhone 4 where iMessage seems to be activated.

I´ll have to find out what´s wrong, because Safari does work. I must say its a Ad Hoc connection with my PC at work, where the network uses proxy. But navigation on Safari works fine on the iPad. I´m going into Setting - Messages - and there it asks me to put password and start the session. After sometime it says the session couldn´t be started.

Apple don't do trade-ins, they will only potentially replace your iPad with one of the same generation/spec - in the US that will be $249 for the iPad 2, and $299 for the iPad 3 and 4 (and Air).
Or (and if it's offered in your country) you might be able to get something for it from Apple via their recycling programme e.g. in the US : http://www.apple.com/recycling/ .

Does anyone know if the wifi chip in the wifi only ipad and ipad 3g are the same? Sometimes all the radios are on one chip which might indicate a totally different chipset for the two ipads. I am having trouble with slow internet speeds on my wifi only ipad. My iPhone 4 and Core i5 iMac are on the same network and are just fine. Try ... Tap Settings / General / Reset / Reset Network Settings
I thought maybe I could swap my wifi only model for a 3g if the wifi chip was different.
If Resetting Network Settings doesn't make a difference, take your iPad in for service.

You can use an iPhone as a personal hotspot (if your carrier supports it), or get a mifi device and use that as a mobile hotspot for it - the iPad will see them as wifi networks.

If you have set up that iPad to disable after 10 wrong passcodes, then yes. But you can turn off that setting. It's right at the bottom of the 'Passcode Lock' settings panel.

Yes you can if:
1: Your cellular provider offers a data tethering option.
2: You have subscribed to this option.
Speed will be as it is with your existing iPhone.

I have found a lost ipad wifi only, locked with passcode ... what now ?

i have found an ipad and i would like to help find the owner but the ipad is locked with a passcode so i cannot connect it to the internet so that owner can find it on find my ipad i have uploaded a pic of the back of the device with the serial number, i have also reported this to the local authorities

The best thing to do is to turn it in to your local police. Should the owner have reported the iPad as stolen, you could be liable if you hold onto the iPad. If the police have refused to accept the device - and I'd insist on that in writing if they have so you're covered in case of any legal issues - there's not much you can do. Even if the owner registered the device with Apple, Apple will not give you any of the owner's information. Normally Apple won't make any attempts to contact the owner themselves, though you can contact Apple anyway and ask.
