Disabled iphone 3gs due to wrong passcode

hi all,
i have given a lock code but by mistake i have forgotten my code and tried to open it by using the wrong code.now the phone is being disabled.
it says "iphone is disabled connect to itunes" and when i connect it to itunes it says
"itunes could not connect to the iphone "named" because it bis locked with a passcode, you must enter the passcode on the iphone before it can be used with itunes.
how to solve this problem
Thanks

Place your iPhone into what is called Recovery mode. If successful, this will require restoring your iPhone with iTunes. The Passcode Lock is not included with your iPhone's backup so you can restore your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup.

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.
You may have to force iPad into Recovery Mode

You need to restore your phone as new or from a backup made before that passcode was set.

  • I pad has been disabled as kids typing in wrong passcode to many times. I pad says connect to I tunes, tried to but pc asks to put in passcode to enter I tunes but as its disabled I can't type in a passcode. Any ideas ?

iPad has been disabled as kids have typed in wrong passcode too many times. Have tried to connect to iTunes to restore it but can't as PC says to enter passcode but I obviously can't as iPad is disabled. Any ideas ?

You have to restore the device within iTunes. You want to use the same computer that you always sync with so that you can restore your app data and settings. You can restore with any other computer, but you will lose everything on the iPad.
You will need to restore using Recovery Mode. You can read about it here.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4097
    Recovery Mode Instructions
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off iPad: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for iPad to turn off.
If you cannot turn off iPad using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the iPad turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to iPad. When you reconnect the USB cable, iPad should power on.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the recovery mode alert that iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode.
    Use iTunes to restore iPad.

  • Iphone 3GS update went wrong - plugging in via USB causes instant PC crash

I have (had) an iPhone 3GS, working well. I decided it was time to do a sync, and an update was suggested. A back up seems to have been created from the sync (visible in itunes), however there were messages afterwards that my PC had recovered from a serious error. The update became a restore and update, and I was given the choice to restore to my backup. This process appeared to go well enough, though at the end my PC kept crashing and trying to reboot but as long as my iPhone was connected via USB the PC could not reboot.
Furthermore, a whole stack of info from my iPhone (all texts, all notes, around 600 out of 800 photos, settings, apps etc) has disappeared.
Now every time I try to connect my iPhone to my PC it instantly crashes. Other things (eg headphones) still work in the same USB ports (I've tried multiple, front & back).
I can see an itunes backup was created, but cannot connect to itunes on my PC to ascertain if there is any more data from the back up (namely my notes & photos). Any suggestions from similar experiences would be most welcome!

    Success.
After a bit of a dig around google searches, it seems there's some sort of glitch between Apple and Logitech webcam device drivers.
I removed the Logitech drivers, and voila! iPhone no longer causes instant meltdown of pc.
My question now then, how do I work out if my incomplete restore can be turned into a complete restore? I was game enough to hit the restore button in itunes and it only gave me the option of returning to original settings, thus erasing what is currently on there. I cancelled that move!
I would like what I have (all contacts, at least!) plus the disappeared old stuff (pics, notes, texts would be nice)...
Am i right in understanding that iTunes will only keep one backup and any subsequent ones will replace the previous one? I'm nervous that if I backup what i have there now, it will replace a good backup that I really might be able to restore in full.
    Any thoughts on this?

  • TS2634 My iPad is now disabled because someone entered the wrong passcodes too many times.  I connected to iTunes and I got an error code that the iPad's passcode needs to be entered.  What do I do now?

My iPad2 was being used by my wife.  She put a passcode on it.  She hasn't used this iPad for a while and forgot the passcode.  She entered what she thought was the 4 digit passcode but the iPad did not accept it.  She tried different combinations and eventually disabled the iPad.  Now it has this message:  "iPad is disabled connect to iTunes".  I connected it to iTunes and iTunes is asking for the passcode to be entered into the iPad before it can be synced?  I can't enter the passcode because the iPad is disabled.  Please help how I can solve this.  Thanks.

You may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the iPad and resync/restore your content to it.

  • IPhone 3GS sync'd wrong profile

My wifes 3GS froze and needed to be restored.  The computer she was using to previously sync with died a couple of months ago and she never created a new profile on my computer.  So after she restored her iPhone on my computer it sync'd all my contacts, apps, music, etc... What are the steps we should take to erase all of that stuff off her phone and create a new profile for her on itunes.  Thank you in advance!

Not possible to sync one iOS device with another iOS device. You can sync multiple iPods and iOS devices with iTunes on the same computer and each device has its own sync preferences with iTunes.
What exactly did you do since it involved more than just syncing?

  • IPhone 3GS stuck cycling on passcode screen

Something odd has occured to my iphone.
This morning, I discovered that the iphone is essentially cycling through the passcode screen, but as soon as it loads, it crashes, and a few seconds after that it loads a new passcode screen. It keeps going like this for ages. Keypad is non-responsive. Occasionally it somehow manages to get to the homescreen, but the icons disappear and reappear every 5 seconds or so, nothing else works.
Tried hard reset by pressing home button and power button for about 10 seconds, after turning it back on, it straight away starts cycling the passcode screen again. Is there anything I can do bar a full restore?
    Many Thanks.

A restore would be the next step in troubleshooting.  The iPhone backup includes information such as mail settings, text messages, notes, call history, contact favorites, sound settings, widget settings, certain network settings, and other preferences including settings and data from third-party applications and photos in your camera roll.  These will be restored from the backup.  Your music, videos, and applications as well as your Contacts, Calendars and Photo Albums will be reloaded by iTunes as they were before the restore.  This article gives all the details and shows you the screens you will see during the restore:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Try a restore from your backup first, if it isn't successful, set up as a new phone.
If still not successful, make an appointment to see the resident Genius at your nearest Apple retail Store:  http://www.apple.com/uk/retail/geniusbar/

  • Help! iPhone 3gs reset went wrong and nothing helps

Is there anyone in the world that can help me?
The audio memo notes app was broken. Wanting to fix it, I did a soft reset. That didn't fix it. I finally did a full reset and it solved the problem. When I connected my iPhone to my computer it suggested that I reinstall from a backup. But as I did that, there was an error (probably because I wasn't connected to internet). My iphone is giving me the blue iTunes icon and usb cable image.
Now, whenever I try to connect my iPhone, iTunes tells me that there is an unfinished backup. It doesn't even give me the option of starting from factory defaults:
So in the screen capture, you see that it says I can restore the phone to factory settings by clicking on the botton.
It seems to work fine until it tries to validate it with Apple. At that point it gives me an unknown error 9:
Is there anyone in the world that can help me?

Thank you JayPe for trying to help! I'm hopeful again because of the ALT key tip. I looked all over the web yesterday, but you're the first one to mention that trick!
I've tried what you told me, but it doesn't work. I get a message saying the firmware isn't accepted by the phone. Any other ideas? An older firmware that would work for sure? I tried all the iOS 6's I could find to no avail.

if the Device has been Modified... this will Not necessarily work.
