Disabled Keyboard-Shortcuts on every boot-up

Hi.
Can anyone tell why the keyboard-shortcuts for "dock, exposé and dashboard" become disabled every time the Mac starts?

BTW - when a game freezes in fullscreen, I find that my force quit command is disabled. Any workaround? I'm sort of disappointed that some Mac game seem to disable all my shortcuts.

  • Disabling keyboard shortcuts in Flash CC

From looking at past threads, it appears that Flash users were once able to disable keyboard shortcuts in the Flash player window when testing their programs.  This option seems to have gone away in Flash CC (or has hidden itself very well).  This is problematic for me since I'm relying on key presses to dictate which frames my program goes to, but can't test to see if things are working properly without disabling Flash player shortcuts first.  Does anyone know of a solution to this problem?

ned is correct.  that feature (unfortunately) was 'deprecated' in flash pro cc, http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flash/cs/using/WS3e7c64e37a1d85e1e229110db38dec34-7fc2a.html (the 'The Test Movie command and keyboard controls' section).
in addition to neds suggestion, another poor option is to test in your browser.

  • How can we disable keyboard shortcuts on webpages?

I am using the add-on firemacs, which allows us to edit text with emacs key-bindings.
The problem is: some key-bindings (set by firemacs) are overwritten at several webpages (e.g. Evernote and StackExchange).
For example, Ctrl-b moves normally the text cursor to the previous character in a textarea. But in the textarea at any site of StackExchange, Ctrl-b creates `**strong text**`.
Is it possible to disable keyboard shortcuts without disabling shortcuts for firemacs?
The trivial solution is to disable JavaScript. But I want to know a possibility of other solutions.

StackExchange links to a bunch of other sites, so I looked at the superuser.com site. The specific script that creates the interactive features of the editor is http://cdn.sstatic.net/Js/wmd.en.js. It's minified so I can't figure out the call needed to remove the keypress event listener. (Actually, I'm not sure I could figure it out even with the full source, as I don't use jQuery.) Maybe it's a question for StackOverflow?

  • Disabling Keyboard Shortcuts for LDAP Accounts -Workgroup Manager...

I work in a school and all our students are on LDAP accounts. Recently some of the kids realized that hitting Ctrl-Opt-CMD-8 inverts the screen display. You wouldn't believe the amount of havoc this has created at school, especially when they do it to a kid’s account that doesn't know how to fix it.
Keyboard and Mouse are NOT one of the items under preferences for either groups or accounts in Workgroup Manager. Does anyone know if there is a way around this, or an alternate way of getting rid of the keyboard shortcuts for Universal Access, for either groups or accounts?
    Thanks
      Mac OS X (10.4.6)

Within the Workgroup Manager pane for Preferences, there is an option to manage Universal access. Within that section, there is a tab for 'Options'. You will want to change that management to 'Always' and leave the box for 'Allow Universal Access Shortcuts' UNchecked. This will, in effect, disable the usage of the shortcuts for a User or a selected Group account.
    Hope this helps out!!

  • Disable Keyboard Shortcut for Open Adobe Bridge

Is there a way to disable the keyboard shortcut which opens Adobe Bridge from Illustrator? Often when I'm working quickly I accidentally hit this (option command o) instead of (shift command o) to outline type. It halts everything to open Bridge, which I never use, and drives me crazy. Is there any way to disable this command?
Any help would be greatly approciated!!

Go to Edit > Keyboard Shortcuts > Menu Commands > File and remove or modify the default shortcut for Bridge.

No, Firefox is user choice rules over the "wants" of individual websites as far as disabling contextual menus and the keyboard commands.
Placing a transparent image over the image will keep the less technical user from saving the main image. If they do try to save it all they'll get is the transparent image overlay.

  • How to disable keyboard shortcut for Type-And-Transfer

    Hi,
I'm trying to create a macro in Excel that I want to use the ctrl+shft+h keyboard shortcut. However, Lenovo's Type-and-Transfer tool has hijacked that shortcut so everytime I try to use the shortcut within Excel it launches the Type-and-Transfer tool. I've looked everywhere and cannot, for the life of me, figure out how to disable this keyboard shortcut from launching the Type-and-Transfer tool. Anybody have any idea?
    Thanks in advance,
    jd

    Hi,
here is what I would check in:
    Registry:
    - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\IBM
    - HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\LENOVO
    - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\IBM
    - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Lenovo
<sorry as I don't havea system with this shortcut type I cannot find the exact same key combination>
My second thought is going more in the direction of an application, that is called Keyboard Customizer
Try this one, if that will fit your request.
Let me know any update, that you can give on this situation.
    Cheers

  • How to disable keyboard shortcut "Control Shift Down"

    Hi,
I'm mildly surprised that I couldn't find the answer to this little problem I have.
I'm running a PC version of Excel through VMWare under Mac OS X 10.7, and it works perfectly fine except that the keyboard shortcut for selecting continguous cells in a column - Control-Shift-Down - produces a weird "slow-mo" version of F10, which is showing all windows in the current application.
First of all, I hardly see this "feature" to be of any practical use as you can accomplish the same (without the slow-mo effect) by hitting F10 by default.
Secondly, this prevents me from doing something actually useful in Excel which is selecting continguous cells in a column.
Can someone please give a tip to disable this useless shortcut? I've looked everywhere in Keyboard settings in Preferences without success.
Can't believe no one else has the same issue.
    TIA
    -Wk

Thanks a lot for your post. I tried your suggestion and indeed got the Excel short-cut back. It wasn't obvious as "Mission Control" and "Application Windows" are mapped to F9 and F10 (rather than the ctrl-shift-down" combo).
It's ok since I don't really have any use for shortcut launching "Mission Control" or "Application windows".

  • Disable Reply All button via Group Policy without disabling keyboard shortcut

At my organization, we've used Group Policy to disable the Reply to All button in Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010. When you use the setting in the ADM files for the respective versions of Office to disable a Command bar ID, the Reply to All button is disabled,
however they keyboard shortcut (Ctrl + Shift + R) is still active. This forces our users to think a bit more before using the Reply All function.
The keyboard shortcut continues to work, because there's a separate setting to disable the keyboard shortcuts. The same is true for Office 2013's GP templates, however, it does not function as expected.
When I use the Office 2013 admin templates and disable command bar ID 355 (Reply All), it disables the button as expected, however it also disables the keyboard shortcut for Reply All without actually setting it as disabled in the disable shortcut keys.
Has anyone had success disabling a command bar ID without disabling the associated shortcut keys? If so, how did you do it?

    Hi,
This issue has been fixed by this hotfix:
    Hotfix 2881040 for Outlook 2013 June 10, 2014 (Outlook-x-none.msp)

  • How do I disable keyboard shortcuts in Fireworks?

I have been unable to type anything inside of Fireworks CS6.  Somehow my keyboard shortcuts have been activated and my mouse's left-click option is disabled.  I'm sure this is just a matter of hit a combination of keys, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere.  I am using the Mac Maverick OS.

I used to use the keyconfig extension to change keyboard assignments:
    http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=72994
There may be other addons that will do it too.

  • Is there any way to disable keyboard shortcuts?

The number of times we've been doing a stream and someone has accidentily hit the spacebar and killed the stream is very anoying.
Is there any way to disable the keyboard shortcuts so this isn't an issue?
    Many Thanks,
    Ady

This might go into too much detail but I suspect since you're referring to a basic system function you're going to have to address this at a pretty basic level in the system operations which isn't always easy without major hacks.

  • Disabled keyboard shortcuts in adobe applications

My employer provides Mac OS X 10.4.11. I am not in a position to upgrade this, therefore cannot go beyond Firefox 3.6.25. I have recently found keyboard shortcuts in Adobe Photoshop (7) and Illustrator (10) do not work when I'm logged in to my hotmail account, or on the logout page at uk.msn.com. This happens in both Firefox and Camino. I need hotmail open, anyone know a workaround for this? (Not too technical please!) (I hate Safari, but am having to use it for now.)

The suggestion to look on the Adobe site lead to the solution. This is the best answer from Adobe:
Solution 1: Bypass the keys' default OS-level commands.
Note: Use this solution only if your keyboard has a key labeled Fn.
To make Mac OS interpret F1, F2, and so forth as function keys instead of as OS-level command keys, hold down the Fn key when you press a function key. For example, in an Adobe application that uses F1 as a keyboard shortcut, hold down Fn and press F1.
You can also make Mac OS interpret F1, F2, and so forth as function keys by default. (If you do so, then you can still perform those keys' OS-level commands by holding the Fn key when you press them.) If you want to make this change, then do the following:
    1. Choose Apple Menu > System Preferences.
    2. Click Keyboard & Mouse.
    3. Click the Keyboard tab.
    4. Select the option Use All F1, F2, Etc. Keys As Standard Function Keys.
    5. Quit System Preferences.

  • How can I disable Keyboard ShortCut???

    Hi everyone,
I use to write my PL/SQL in SQL Developer because the great features it offers. But I've noticed when I press ctrl + down or ctrl + up in the editor, it inserts code from the history, a very interesting feature, but it is a bit difficult to me, because I accidentally puts a lot of code when editing...
I want to know if I can in anyway disable this feature...

you can disable it in the accelerators settings.
The actions are called: SQL History: append from next, and append from previous
    good luck

  • Does anyone have simple instructions for disabling keyboard shortcuts? Thank you.

I'm really tired of popup boxes when I type 't', 'k' , 'p,' etc., not to mention emails getting sent before I complete writing them.

This happens when you are just typing normally, not holding down Ctrl, Alt, or other modifier keys?
I wonder whether this could be caused by one of your add-ons. Could you test in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
Not all add-ons are disabled: Flash and other plugins still run
After Firefox shuts down, a small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset).
    Any difference?

  • How add my keyboard shortcuts to Premiere Pro CC?

I have my own keyboard shortcuts. Every time a path to shortcuts was like this:
    C:\Users\**myaccount***\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Premiere Pro\6.0
But in CC version there is no. Where I have to paste my shortcuts to have it in Adobe Premiere Pro CC? A path is different?
I even try to search a .kys files and finally found in a different place like:
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014\Keyboard Shortcuts\en_US
And past it that, but... it still doesn't work! So if that... what else I have to do to that simple think works!
I want shortcuts from Adobe Premiere CS 6 works on CC. Is that possible or CS6 shortcuts to CC version doesn't work anymore?
    PS
Why such shortcut like "CTRL+K" is meant "Add edit"? Shortcut CTRL+K makes "a cut". Why a name of it is so different like "add edit"?

If these plugins are ZXP files, you can install them with Exension Manager CC. If not, you have to copy them to the appropriate folder manually.
