Disabled softkeys when keyboard visible
After several days of searching I cannot find a single reference to the problem I am experiencing with my Lumia 800, which is this:
Whenever the virtual keyboard is displayed on the screen, the menu softkeys (displayed by the current app, not the 'back' 'windows' and 'search' keys) cannot be selected.
This makes it impossible to send mail, comment on facebook status etc.
I cannot beleive that every other Lumia user out there thinks this is acceptable, so either I have a faulty phone or there is some trick I am missing.
My previous phone was an LG Optima7, also a WinPhone, which did not demonstrate this behaviour and, despite being lower spec hardware was a far nicer phone to use because of this.
I have tried a reset and, right from the start in the process of entering live ID I found I had to get the keyboard to disappear before I could select the 'next' button.
ASTONISHINGLY poor integration of phone and OS for a 'flagship' model. :-(
Oh, and why does Nokia think it a good idea to prevent me from using my existing linked-in and twitter accounts? Again, not something that happened on the LG...

I have *exactly* the same problem on a Lumia 810, and it persists even after resetting the phone multiple times. Did you ever discover a solution. I'm one step away from smashing this worthless phone, and I'll never buy a nokia again.

Can you disable IE's keyboard shortcuts?
When using Internet Explorer 6 on Windows XP with Forms 10g rel 2 some of the function keys have definitions that interfer with Forms functions. Does anyone know how you can disable these IE keyboard shortcuts?
Example the F1 key in Internet Explorer displays Internet Explorer's help.

[email protected]Not sure if this is the best answer but running in a separate frame eliminates the ie shortcuts. This makes the app run in it's own MDI. Oracle apps does it this way. Saves a lot of headaches.

Showing Yellow icons after every 15 to 20 Min and internet stop working.when we enable- disbale the network connection then will internet start working fine.Some time network connection is disable but when we renable that connection it will stuck on enabling
and will not renable till i am not restart that machine. I have 350 Machine in network but facing this issue in 25 machines. Kindly help me on this issue .

So switch a LAN card fix this issue...seems a compatibility issue or maybe some packs or programs you installed recently cause this issue.
Have you manually check the network adapter driver from the PC's manufacture website? sometimes, it will be a time delay before Microsoft push out the driver update.
Check if issue exists in safemode with network, this mode will launch Windows with limited sets of files and drivers.
if you have a restore point, restore the pc to a previous point at which the pc is functioning fine.

When i Log into instagram it say my account is disable but when i log in on another iphone my instagram account log's in. When i try logging into another account on my phone it continue to say disable. i also tried to make a new instagram on my phone but it wont let me. i deleted the app over and over again but it still wont let me log into any instagram account. HELP !!I just asked the same thing and did some research. Some people have said that the UDID code is like banned from instagram, but your account isn't. I'm able to use it on my phone but not on my iPod.

My Ipod Touch is disabled and when I connect to Itunes to recover it, it states that itiTunes could not connect to the iPod touch “iPod touch” because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPod touch before it can recover.
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Forgot passcode or device disabled
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode. -
My daughter has entered the wrong passcode too many times on her iPOD Touch, it is now disabled. When I connect to iTunes, it will not let me go any further until I enter the correct passcode. I no longer get the option to do this, all I get is iPOD disabled. Help Please
Restore the iPod from the computer to which the iPod is synced. For information and instructions, see:

Windows 7 and XP Disable wireless when connected to hot wired

We are facing IP address shortage due to redundant network connections from laptops because every laptop uses two IP address when connected to wireless network and hard wire. Does Windows 7 and XP natively has the options to disable wireless when a laptop
is connected to hard wired? I know the wireless can easily disabled by manual process but problem is user don't have the knowledge or don't bother to do that. So if there is a way to use GPO to configure this would be ideal -- no 3rd party solution please.

TLThere are no Fail proof ways for Win 7 or 8 to make sure that AT ALL times Wire is used over WIFI. The metric setting is ignored by MS. I know cause my metric for the wired is 10 and for the WiFi is 9999, but at all times the WiFi is used instead of the
Wired. This is by design as Microsoft being as inept as always did not properly design their operating system. This is a DESIGN DEFECT, which Microsoft will not admit to, despite the fact that it could be caused by no other method EXCEPT incompetent design,
ignored during quality assurance testing etc. The reason there are a million people looking for a fix for this design flaw is that there is NO fix available. MS will not fix it as they got your money and could care less. Being that they are among the most
evil and greedy companies currently in business is why it will never be fixed. I dare them to prove me wrong and fix the obvious design defect. I double dare all who read this to log in to the MS tech net and demand that they fix this DESIGN DEFECT.
Any developer qualified to design an OS should have no problem permanently fixing this and Microsoft has NO EXCUSE for not doing so with an update!!!!!! All they have to do in the code logic is ask the system if the device getting an IP etc is using a "radio"
then it asks all the other devices that are getting or have gotten an IP if it was gotten via a radio, If during any of these quires the answer is I DID NOT get my IP from a radio connection then that IP path gets priority and all the others, IE WiFi gets
disabled. Then if there is a change in the network, loss of connectivity for example, the process is repeated and when everything say's it got its IP from a radio then the WiFi takes over. So in a nut shell every connection is looked at to see if it is from
a radio based device or a hardwired based device, NOT using metrics since that apparently can not be counted on, the prof is in the 500+ PCs I just setup, ALL OF WHICH GIVE A SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER METRIC TO THE WIRED, but still choose the WIFi. The order of
the connection establishment should not matter since the test is performed on every connection and as soon as one is found that is not radio based, it is left on and all others are turned off. Common sense really. This is NOT ROCKET science! Just good common
sense programing.
So I challenge everyone who reads this comment to add a demand for MS to fix the DESIGN DEFECT once and for all.
That's all I have to say. If there is a script as some of the suggestions here mention that can do it, if there is a single 3rd party product out there that can do it, then there is NO EXCUSE for MS not to provide a PERMANENT OFFICIAL MICROSOFT CERTIFIED
FREE fix for this DEFECT. And yes it can only be classified as a DESIGN DEFECT as common sense say's you would AT NO time under normal operations EVER want the MUCH slower WiFi, 100 mbps compared to 1000 mbps for wired to be in charge. EVER! Even if
the wired nic is only 100 mbps, some cheep junk laptops have the indecency to come with a 100 mbps nic instead of a Gigabit, the Wired is still better 99.99999% of the time.
And one last thing this IS THE ONLY REAL ACCEPTABLE ANSWER to the original question, and all the others just like it who EXPECT, with GOOD REASON, that COMMON SENSE, would be in charge NOT ignorance and defective designs, and that AT ALL TIME WIRED RULES
OVER WIFI.

PS Not all systems have switches on the outside for disabling the WiFi. My HPs don't and trying to train all the users on how to MANUALLY disable it and when to do so etc is like trying heard flock of sparrows, it's not happening, NOR SHOULD IT NEED TO! -

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to update.
2. Connect your device to your computer.
3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
4. Select the Summary tab.

If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake

3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
start with step 2 again.

How to disable trackpad when mouse attached?
I used to be able to disable the trackpad when i was using a mouse by going into trackpad system prefs. With the new version of trackpad, I can't seem to do that. Is there a way to disable the trackpad when my mouse is attached?
I would like to be able to disable the trackpad too, as I was before 10.5.06. At present I get an otherwise useful instruction video when I hit 'trackpad' in 'system preferences'. Since I have seen the video before and know by now what the trackpad can do, I really miss the earlier available option of disabling it when I don't need it.
Any advice on how to solve this issue would be appreciated.

I cannot disable the full keyboard navigation
Hello I have quite a problem.
As it says above, I cannot disable the full keyboard navigation option, whenever I try to, it re-activates itself in the preferences, even if I just change tabs and return within the preferences.
Furthermore, the keys seem to activate oddly, as I do not know of any shortcuts bound to the S key (JUST the s key), which commonly causes Itunes to skip forward a track in whatever playlist I am playing.
I have tried changing the other preferences, and I can change them with no difficulties, it is just the Keyboard navigation that is giving me problems.
Any help would be appreciated.

You can bypass that problem (change disposition:attachment to disposition:inline) using the Inline Disposition extension. It has been around for a while, but I haven't tried it myself: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/inlinedisposition/]. Maybe that's what you need for Gmail.

Disabling JavaScript when pdf is opened in browser
Is it possible to disable AcroJS when the pdfs are opened in browser?
The setting "Enable JavaScript" in Preferences/JavaScript seems to disable JS only for pdfs opened natively.

RaduOK... I'm still puzzled. There seems to be something else that controls whether Acrobat JavaScript runs or not.
If I'm loading a pdf stream though a http GET, JavaScript in Acrobat is run even when the setting in Edit->Preferences is disabled.

Problem importing translated .inx back into original indesign CS4
