Disabling boot component validation in Bitlocker

Since there's no easy way of figuring out why Bitlocker is going into recovery mode, we are considering disabling the boot component validation for Bitlocker and leverage only disk encryption. Either way, how can one disable the boot validation component
in Bitlocker. There doesn't seem to be any documentation on that. Is this the right way?
Windows Components\Bitlocker Drive Encryption\Operating System Drives\Configure TPM protection validation profile. Enable and uncheck all options from there.
Is this correct? And if so, does this mean that the disk will never go into recovery mode on that same machine provided that the TPM chip hasn't been tampered with?

So if I'm getting this correctly once the computer is BitLocked, once you turn on your computer with anything else hooked up (USB, Printer, scanner...) You get prompted that something changed?
I am seeing this also. If we disable PCR5 (the one associate with MBR) via local group policy and leave everything else default we do not see that issue at boot time.
Are there any objections with doing this practice? At this point aside from trying to disable USB at boot I see no other option.
I have found this exact problem I have described all over the web and have no real solution. Leo Huang you have helped me in the past and if you can give a recommendation with back up data I can show the management we will be forever
indebted.

I have made an entry on registry file as suggested under HKCU section.
HKCU\SOFTWARE\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\11.0\AVGeneral\bValidateBytesBeforeHeader=dword:00000000
This didn't work.
Should I create an entry for "Adobe Reader" instead of "Acrobat Reader" ?
Have no entry on HKLM for neither of them.

Disable pop3 certificate validation in SSL

I use pops with SSL to connect to pop3 server.
I need to disable the certification validation at the connection establishing.
I saw some example in http://www.exampledepot.com/egs/javax.net.ssl/TrustAll.html which make trustAll for URL connection.
I assume the solution should be related to the following line:
props.setProperty("mail.pop3.socketFactory.class", "javax.net.ssl.SSLSocketFactory");

Disabling boot to disk

Hello,
So I was going to install Windows 7 on a separate partition on my MacBook. I used the start up disk utility under system preferences and selected the disk to boot too. The installer isn't working correctly and I'm unable to eject the disk using the eject button. Now I'm in and endless loop booting into the disk and I can't get back into OSX. Is there a way to disable booting to the disk without being in windows? Please help! I need to have my computer functional by tomorrow

Hi, I'm also interested in knowing how one can disable booting from CD in this laptop. There is is a seriously disfunctional BIOS in this computer. I mean how the hell did Toshiba forget to add such basic option as "Disable boot menu" or at least let someone delete unneccessary boot positions from the boot menu? And, at the same time, You dare to promote Windows on your laptops, when everyone knows that there are many applications that could delete/change user accounts from SAM databases (which is used by Windows). I'd like to know if Toshiba does something in direction to cover those security holes.

How to disable boot chime in Yosemite?

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to disable the boot chime in Yosemite. Previously I was able to do this by way of a terminal command (sudo nvram SystemAudioVolume=%80) but this doesn't seem to work in Yosemite.
I know why the boot chime is useful and why I should just mute my speakers before shutting down, but I just want it disabled once and for all.
Besides the use of 3rd party apps, is there any way to disable it?

I had this scrapped from someone else's post.
Basically what it does is when you log off, it mutes the volume. On log-on, it un-mutes so your normal volume returns.
-Create scriptfile for muting:
sudo nano /opt/local/bin/mute-on.sh
#!/bin/bash
osascript -e 'set volume with output muted'
-Create scriptfile for unmuting
sudo nano /opt/local/bin/mute-off.sh
#!/bin/bash
osascript -e ‘set volume without output muted’
-Make both files executable:
sudo chmod +x /opt/local/bin/mute-*
-Check if any hooks already exist (these will be overwritten, so make sure it is OK for you)
sudo defaults read com.apple.loginwindow LoginHook
sudo defaults read com.apple.loginwindow LogoutHook
-Add hooks for muting
sudo defaults write com.apple.loginwindow LogoutHook /opt/local/bin/mute-on.sh

hey ya'll, so I've been trying to figure out how to turn off the boot jingle, and really loud beep when you plugin/unplug the power supply, on the ideapad u330. I've checked the bios, and there's nothing there that pertains to the noises, nor can I find anything within vista.

I'm very much with you on being able to disable these sounds.. Looking around I get the feeling that there is no way, but at least we should make enough noise about it that it is covered in a BIOS update or something.
It is very annoying, particularly the power disconnection sound. It is disturbingly loud and I haven't even used it in public yet. Boy, this is going to be a problem in the library..

How to Disable client side validation for the message text input

I have scenario where i need to by pass the client side validation for a message text input
Scenario is
I have a message text input field(say XYZ), i set the max length for the item as 20
Now when im trying to enter the greek characters into it, it is allowing me to enter till 20 characters
But when i try to submit the form ..my client side validation is firing..
The Error says the XYZ is too long
The problem is, in greek each character takes two bytes.(In english it is only 1).While entering the content it allowing 20 characters and when validating it is checking for bytes(if we enter in greek the length will be 40 bytes not 20)
I cannot increase the max length .coz i have restrict the character length to 20 only.(english or Greek).
Please help me in this regard.

40222 Disabled item failed validation.

When I run a Forms app, I receive this error message after I click one of its buttons:
41012 Invalid value for field Renewal_Type
40222 Disabled item RB.Renewal_Type failed validation.
There is a radio group by that name in one of the blocks, although it has not been assigned to a canvas. I think the developer of this app may have intended it for another form that he was going to build, but never got to it; thus it's disabled. Is that what causes this error message or is it something else? How can I fix this? Thanks.

How to Disable Boot to PXE w/WinXP Pro

Is there a way to disable my 3000 J115 from trying to boot in the PXE environment. The pc came with Vista Home Premium and I just downgraded it to XP Pro. I did change the boot devices so that it would look at the CD first but have since changed it back to HDD first. Any suggestions?

I looked at the issue which you are facing, may be the dates are been defaulted at the runtime.
Firstly you can to find the FM or program which is upating this dates, as there is no settings in customizing for this.

I finally took the initiative to find and download an older version of Nokia PC Suite that actually worked, after I lost trust that waiting for new versions of the software would fix some of the issues in previous versions.
I got version 7.1.18.0 coz the previous version 7.1.26 refused to convert any songs.
Everything's fine now. All I have to do is never update again.
The only problem with this version is it still doesn't like to convert some songs. But I doubt any versions in the future will attempt to fix this, so it's actually safer staying with this version, where the updates usually come with new bonus problems.
Anyone else who is fed up with the updates in Nokia PC Suite being actually worse and coming with even more problems than the previous versions can get the old version here: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/desktop_software/other_tools/nokia_pc_suite.cfm

Is there any way to disable runtime schema validation

At runtime Kodo appears to validate that all of the tables and columns
referenced in the mapping table exist in the datebase. Is there any way
to disable this. It takes an extremely long time for the validation to
complete and although it may be useful during certain stages of
development or to verify a new deployment it isn't really all that
desirable.

I think It would be more appropriate than a custom dialog.
