Disabling Copy/Paste of Catalog Objects into MyFolders

Hi,
We want to enable personal Storage space to users but would like to restrict them from copying objects from shared location to MyFolders.
Any help/suggestion would be of great help.

Hello, I'm trying to create a .pdf document that is a "how-to" guide. I'd like to disable copy/pasting from 95% of this document, with the exception of a few sections that i'd like my users to be able to copy and paste and use as email templates. I've gone ahead and set pasword security settings and un-checked the box for "enable copying of text, images, and other content". Is there any way that I can enable copy/paste for just a few small sections of my document? or is it an "all or none" function?

Registration Applications - Emai and Repeat Email - Disable Copy&Paste

The standard behavior of Emai and Repeat Email field of Registration Applications allows Copy&Paste.
I would expect to have standard behavior to not allow Copy&Paste otherwise 'Repeat' don't make sense. May i know the reason behind standard behavior Copy&Paste options for the Email fields?
Can I disable Copy&Paste of the Email field by enhancement, if yes, how?

Can We Paste Photoshop Smart Objects Into Illustrator (as Linked/Embedded)?

Since raster editing is much more limited in Illustrator, is there a way to link or embed an individual Smart Object from Photoshop into Illustrator? I know there is an option to Place a file into Illustrator. But what if I have a larger Photoshop document with many Smart Objects in it, and just want to copy and paste one of those into Illustrator, but also have it update when I update it in Photoshop. Is this possible?

Copy and Paste won't have a link to the original file. Only Place can have that.

I have seen this before for ALV grids, but am not sure whether it was a missing feature or infact an intended and possibly optional one.
I suspect the former case to be true, so you will need to use SAPGui engineering to disable it and ensure that the users cannot connect from a machine they have control over to the server or an older SAPGui version. These sort of preferences have typically also been HKEY_CURRENT_USER settings so you might have trouble retro-fitting it as well.
Which SAPGui version are you using? There is a new "SAPGui Security Center" available in 7.20 which might offer this control (amongst several others).

@ Nishant: Personally I have used the camera on my iPhone but some installations ban cameras, so I bought a "Teach yourself photographic memory in 21 days" course and have not looked back since. I can also count cards if they let me see them...

Can't copy/paste or move objects.

Entire Edit Menu, other than "Clear" is grayed out – can't copy/paste anything. Also can't move objects with direct selection tool. Reset preferences and still have same problem. Ideas?

I just had this problem as well. I'm using InDesign CS6, MacOS 10.6.8 where my cut & Paste grayed out and after I made any kind of object. Even though I could select it, I couldn't drag it/move it UNLESS I used my arrow keys to do so. I tried deleting my prefs and restarting InDesign multiple times as listed above but after a full shut down and restart of my machine I finally saw operations return to normal.
Just an FYI.

Copy / Paste Styles between objects?

Can you copy/paste styles between different objects in Motion 5?
I know I can save a Style as a name and then select it from the style list. It would be great to just copy a style and then select another object and paste. Can you do this?

Motion lets you drag and drop parameters on different things. If the action is "not allowed" you won't be able to do it. That said, if you have a rectangle located somewhere on the screen and you want to line up text over the rectangle, just drag the Position parameter of the rectangle onto the text layer in the layers list.
For "like" objects, for instance: shapes, you can drag the Outline and Fill panels (the entire panel!) onto another shape and all of the contained parameters will be copied over. So, if you have a red outlined (say 10 px wide), blue filled rectangle, and you want the same properties on a circle, just drag those panes (click on "Fill" And "Outline") onto the circle.
If all you want to do is save styles of shapes, or text, that you've created, then for shapes, on the Style inspector theres a Shape Style dropdown at the top of the parameters list. Click that and Save Shape Style. Whatever your current settings are, they can be saved and reselected from that menu. For text, at the top of the Style inspector, you'll generally see Normal (in whatever that layers font is.) Click on that bar and select Save All Basic + Style Attributes.

Numbers: Copy/Paste from multiple tables into 1 single Table?

I would appreciate some guidance in creating a copy/paste script from multiple numbers tables into a different single table within the same numbers document.
The columns in the source table are in different positions to the destination table.
So for example, i would want to copy…
Sheet 1, Table 1 Cell A3 copy to Sheet 2 Table Z Cell B2
Sheet 1, Table 1 Cell B3 copy to Sheet 2 Table Z Cell C2
Sheet 1, Table 1 Cell C3 copy to Sheet 2 Table Z Cell E2
Sheet 1, Table 1 Cell D3 copy to Sheet 2 Table Z Cell F2
Sheet 1, Table 1 Cell E3 copy to Sheet 2 Table Z Cell G2
Sheet 1, Table 1 Cell G3 copy to Sheet 2 Table Z Cell I2
Sheet 1, Table 1 Cell J3 copy to Sheet 2 Table Z Cell H2
and repeat the copy/paste on subsequent rows of each table until there is an empty row in Sheet 1 Table 1 (or if this is difficult, say set the repeat to a max of 30 rows).
The script would then need to move on to Sheet 1 Table 2, and do the same copying to Sheet 2 Table Z (from where the previous copy/paste finished in Table Z).
Repeat process would finalise with Sheet 1 Table 6.
The Paste part would need to be pasting values, as the cells in the source tables do contain some formulas.
At the moment this is all done manually and does take some to to undertake.

are you trying to aggregate data from severl tables into a single table? If so you whould be able to do this without a script. The function indirect() will allow you to construct the proper formula, which you may fill over (in the same row) to the appropriate cells, then fill down.
Here is a small example:
There are three data tables ("Table 1", "Table 2", and "Table 3"). And a summary "Table Z"
In table Z make the first row a header (as shown):
Use column A to enter the Sheet name and colomn B to enter the table name.
In row 1 (the header), enter the cells you want to get
in cell C2 type (or copy and paste from here) the formula:
=INDIRECT($A2&"::"&$B2&"::"&C$1)
now select cell C2, copy now select cell C2 thru H2, paste
now select the cells C2 thu H2, hover the corsor over the bottom edge of the selection, and drag the yellow cirlc down as needed to fill the formula down.
Update the sheet and table names as needed for each row

Copy & paste details in bookmarks (into excel)..?

If you go to bookmarks > show all bookmarks, if you then click on a bookmark & copy it, only the address is copied, none of the other details in any visible columns e.g. 'Added', 'Visit Date' etc
How can I copy & paste my bookmarks into a program like excel with all these details also tabulated...

Disable copy paste iphone

Is there a way within ios 6 or jailbreak to disable "hold to copy/paste?" Ever since upgrading to ios 6, which I hate, it seems that hold to copy is more sensitive. Maybe not, but it seems that way to me. Now when I try to push a button on my phone, whether a game or in the browser, instead of pushing the button, it tries to select the text of the button for copying. It is very annoying.
Somebody please help with a suggestion. I know apple won't ever suggest it, but my phone is off warranty and I'm willing to jailbreak to stop this from happening. I'd rather have a non-jb fix though.

Disabling copy paste screenshot function from webdypro output

Hi,
I am working on a webdynpro application. I have used formatted text view element the outout view. The requirement is when this text is displayed in output it should not be copied pasted nor screenshot can be taken for security reason.
This means when I execute the program and the text gets diesplayed in Internet Explorer copy paste function should be disable.
Printscreen option should also be disabled.

I don't believe that anyone ever said that you could disable cut and paste. This too is a function of the browser interacting with the OS. There is nothing that you can do from Web Dynpro to effect that.
I did a google search to how to avoid cut and paste in the browser. Even with full control over javascript and the HTML rendering (which you don't have in Web Dynpro) this is very difficult to do. Some suggestion are to use a CSS with a transparent image overlay or to render an image with the text. Even some of these approaches can be worked around by someone persistent enough - by viewing source for instance.
Also avoiding the screenshot is pretty much impossible and certainly isn't the responsibility of the application.

I am using Fios Windows Live Hotmail, and I'm unable to Copy, Paste, or Insert into any messages.
Right click, Control V, nothing,
Prior to Fios, I used MSN Hotmail and did not have these issues.

Thanks...Tested again with your suggestions. see what happens in the Two screen shots: first with normal German format and second with the same "source" table with decimal points... weird. Replacing the decimal separator in the Format panel helps to paste values with points. But look what happens if you copy mixed values in the table... values with decimal point become dates!
(note: for this test i'm using Keynote'09... same happens in Pages anyway.)

This doesn't happen in Numbers'09. in Numbers you can paste whatever format and it translates commas from text tables without problem.

How to disable Copy/Paste to a field in Siebel 7.8

Hi Gurus,
Is there a way to disable paste into a certain field in Siebel 7.8?There is a way to do that in normal HTML but is it possible in Siebel.

One option that comes to mind is to intercept the HTML that is generated for the field on the applet and append to it with the HTML/Javascript that would prevent the pasting.
For example on the login applet we put some code in capture the enter key since it did not work out of the box.

Disabled Copy & Paste in 29.01 is like losing an arm!! Need do-able workaround ASAP.

I am beyond furious that all the workarounds that made copy and paste function have now been disabled in 29.0.1. The FF overlords are imposing their will on the masses. I am an adult and can make security decisions for myself. Losing cut & paste is like losing an arm. Before I switch another browser, does anyone know a workaround to restore this critical browser function? I have seen the javascript idea but it's a bit complicated. The Clipboard Helper plugin and altering configuration no longer work. No add-on works either. I am desperate for an uncomplicated fix. Anybody?!

You should still be able to use the keyboard shortcuts (Ctrl+V, Ctrl+C, and Ctrl+X) to paste, copy and cut.
