Disabling GeForce 4 IGP

I am about to add my GeForce 4 ti4200 to this unit. I presently have the GeForce 4 IGP. Will it be OK to leave the drivers etc. for the IGP and just install the card into the AGP slot? (Adding Detonator drivers as well) I was wondering if I should purge the driver etc.Disabling in CMOS?Will some of the utilities for this board like nView also work with the GeForce 4 ti4200?Look forward to ideas. Thanks, tbt 8)

Got it going! Man I had a heck of a time. This XP had kept loading the supported drivers for the card before I could blink. Seems the XP home with service pack 1 supports GeForce 4 ti4200 cards and up.I didn't have near the problem with my Hewlett Packard when I added my GeForce 3 ti200 card. Oh wait, it came with a TNT card and no onboard video. I forgot.
I want to take the time to Thank anyone and everyone for the support on these boards for every newbie that comes through like myself. :]
Thanks again,, tbt

  • CS4 and IGP Geforce 8200, not supported why?

    Hey,
I have a motherboard with a Geforce IGP 8200 Chip.
The openGl is 3.0. So I think the opengl in Photoshop have to work or is the IGP to weak?
With a ATI 4670 it works fine and this card is not listed in the kb eather.
    Thanks

    Hey,
yes we are talking about CS4 and I updated everything: directX,
I have drivers for the IGP 8200/ 730a. The normal WHQ Driver 182.50 WHQL @ Nvidia has integrated the 8200.
    And I have a normal motherboard ( ASROCk K10N78-1394):
    Supported Cards:
    GeForce 8400 GS
    GeForce 8400
    GeForce 8300 GS
    GeForce 8300
    GeForce 8200
    GeForce 8100 / nForce 720a
    GeForce 7950 GX2
    GeForce 7950 GT
even with the nVidia nForce 15.26 driver (Version 15.26 for: nForce 980a, 780a, 750a, 730a ...) there is no chance. So I think the IGP are unsopported by Adobe?

  • Issue The Witcher 3 - GT60 2PE Dominator Pro 3k

    Hello,
I have an issue with the Witcher 3 Wild Hunt :
I've just installed The Witcher 3 (using the DVDs) with all the patchs (1.01 to 1.04). When I start it (with GOG or the EXE) I have a small blacksreen opening (not fullscreen) and nothing else for many minutes, until I kill the task (no answer) in the task manager.
I've tried many things based on what I saw on the internet :
     - Reinstall the game with/whitout the DLCs = nothing
     - Update my nvidia Driver and my Geforce experience application = nothing
     - Disable Geforce Gaming experience = nothing
     - Move / rename / delete Galaxy.dll file in the game folder
     - Update visual C++ 2015
After more research I found there might be an issue with the nvidia opimus technology. I have a MSI Laptop GT602PE Dominator Pro with an Intel Chipset and a Nvidia GTX 880M.
     - I've tried many things based on this post on your forum (forums.cdprojektred.com/threads/36977-Game-crashes-on-start-up?highlight=optimus)
     - I've tried this : en.cdprojektred.com/support/min-reqs-not-met/
     - I reconfigue many things in the nvidia pannel (Manage 3D settings / Global settings tab / Power Management Mode settings, select "Prefer Maximum Performance" / Preferred Graphic Processor settings, change from "Auto select" to "High Performance NVIDIA Processor")
     - Desactive the Intel Chipset ---> At this step the game finally launch ! But I can't play it even with the lowest settings (I play 1 frames every 20 seconds). Maybe, when I desactivate the chipset intel, the computer doesn't find the Nvidia card. I don't know.
Does anyone having the same issue ? Or get a solution ?
    Thanks for your answers.

Can you use MSI System Information Export tool to export and share us your configuration.  Otherwise we don't know what goes wrong on your system, thank you.

  • N580GTX Lightning Strange OC Issues

    Hi All,
I'm not new to overclocking however this latest issue has me absolutely stumped.
Recently bought a MSI 580GTX Lightning and when testing it in evga OC Scanner and Furmark the OSD on stock clocks shows a high FPS.
However once you touch the core voltage in MSI Afterburner the FPS on the OSD in either scanner drops.
e.g The card on stock is 832/4200 and shows around 333fps in the OSD
Bumping this up to 932/4200 without any voltage adjustments increases the fps to 400 in the OSD.
Increasing the core voltage from +10mv to +200mv will drop the fps to 190/200 in the OSD. I can get the card stable at 970/4600.
I haven't really tested it in a game environment, but from what I've done so far it doesn't seem to be limiting.
Any ideas? Should I be concerned? Lol

    Believe I found the problem.

Hi zunaid, check this out : >>Disable GeForce GTX 580 Power Throttling using GPU-Z<<, but  I never do that because mycard already has OCP unlocker ^_^
I also never run Furmark again as it draws too much power and can damage your card.
Btw I think there is no new BIOS for GTX580.

  • Lenovo N500 and Win7 x64: fails to resume from sleep or hibernate

    Hello!
First of all, sorry for my bad english. I have bought an N500 laptop on the previous week. I'm using Windows 7 x64 on my desktop PC for months without any problem, so i thought i give it a try on my new notebook to. I choosed the x64 edition because my notebook has 4GB of memory plus the 256MB dedicated memory of the GeForce IGP. The installation went fine, it detected all the hardware in the laptop (except the memory card reader, but i found out that the Vista driver works fine with it). My only problem is, that if i try to hibernate the machine, or put the notebook into sleep state, most of the times it doesn't wake up from it, just simply reboots. If i resume from hibernate it provides me the option to delete the restoration data and do a clean boot. It's very annoying because defaultly if i close the lid or just simple leave the machine for a while, it goes to sleep automatically (i turned it off for now of course, but i like to use). It does it even after a fresh install, if i didn't install anything by hand. Windows Update offers me prelease GeForce drivers, but if i install those the problem still remains. As is see there isn't any Windows 7 drivers for this laptop, just Thinkpad series have Beta drivers for this OS. Or just i didn't find them on the site? I will try to install Windows 7 x86 this afternoon to check it's the 64bit OS which makes the problem or not.
Can somebody suggest me something to solve this problem?

I have the same problem here. lenovo N500 Windows 7 7100 64bit. Have Mobile Intel 4 Series Express Chipset Family, That recently got official driver from intel (I dont think that's the problem anyway).
    Everything work fine with 32bit.
Look around everywhere, no  Success yet

  • MSI 4670 Video Card and NVIDIA/ATI drivers on K8NGM2-FID

I installed an MSI R4670-2D512 video card yesterday and had a problem with drivers that I'd like to understand better.  What I did was uninstall all the NVIDIA drivers, install the board, install the ATI drivers, and update the ATI drivers (with reboots).  In the end, I had no LAN connection, and XP's hardware warnings (and Device Manager) showed no "Other PCI Bridge," "SM Bus Control," and "Video Controller."  Reinstalling drivers from the motherboard's CD got all those going again, but I'm wondering if that's created any underlying NVIDIA/ATI conflicts.  I've disabled GeForce 6150 under Display Adapters, leaving the 4670.  That covers the video controller, but should I do the same for the other two?  And should I have even needed any of the three?  Thanks.

    Show us what you mean.
Actually, I misspoke: video controller and Display Adapters were in different categories.  What do you want to see?  Under Display Adapters, both the ATI 4670 and GeForce 6150 are listed.  I disabled the latter (right click, disable), so there's a red X through it now.  The three yellow '?' that were under Device Mgr > "Other Devices" are no longer there.  They were listed at the time under "Other Devices," but once those motherboard CD's drivers were reloaded they dispersed to other locations with new names and the Other Devices category disappeared.  I'm guessing one of those three is now called the "NVidia NForce Networking Controller," since when the problem arose there was only a "1394 Net Adapter" under Network Adapters.  I couldn't find the other two, hence I wouldn't know what to show you.

  • MSI Z68A-GD80(B3) random freeze problems

    Hi,
This newbie around here has a problem:
The following system freezes randomly without warning:
    MB:    MSI Z68A-GD80(B3)
    CPU:    2600K
Cooling: Corsair H60 (temps idle mid 20's, under load <60C)
    IGP:     Integrated, using DVI
    RAM:   Corsair vengeance 1600 , 4x4 16GB (9-9-9-27)
HD:     Corsair M4 SSD 256 GB
    OS:     Win7 x64
    PSU:    Chieftec, 80+, 650W modular
    No other components/peripherals installed/attached
When BIOS /UEFI is set to all defaults: system will run normally with no freezes, as soon as I hit the OC genie button, the system starts up normally into windows, but will suddenly freeze at any given time under full load but also under idle.
I've read all relevant threads about this "behavior" and I know I'm not alone, but after really trying every conceivable idea as suggested by many knowledgeable persons on this forum I'm completely stuck.
    Things tried so far:
Manual adjustments in UEFI withou using OC genie button
Use one ram stick in slot one, (incl running at default 1333Mhz)
Use various Dram voltages (default 1.5 V and tried all possibilities up till 1,65 Volt)
Use various Vcore voltages till 1,45 Volts
Between all those various scenarios CMOS has been reset and cleared
Does any of you have any suggestions of where to proceed from here in order to get a stable OC'ed system?
    Thanks in advance.

There are two things to consider.
    1. The individual CPU speciman you have may just be one that does not allow much in terms of overclocking. This is the part that is the hardest to accept but the fact is that testing has provided the following results.
    Quote
The results below are based on the range of the CPU turbo multiplier when overclocking.
Results are representative of 100 D2 CPUs that were binned and tested for stability under load; these results will most likely represent retail CPUs.
    1. Approximately 50% of CPUs can go up to 4.4~4.5 GHz
    2. Approximately 40% of CPUs can go up to 4.6~4.7 GHz
    3. Approximately 10% of CPUs can go up to 4.8~5 GHz (50+ multipliers are about 2% of this group)
So the luck of the draw is always present, unfortunately
    2. You are using the IGP. This will affect the overclockability of the CPU to some extent. By how much, I don't know, but on my 1156 socket i3 it had quite a large effect. If you know someone with a low end GPU that you can test with, then disable your IGP and retest to see if the results are any different.
A couple of things to check. What BIOS version do you have, and if there are any later BIOS' that address this ?
Reseat your CPU, inspect the CPU pad indentations at the the same time and check for any bent pins on the socket or any foreign matter in between the pins.
Recheck all your power connectors, especially the CPU power connector for proper seating.

  • Poor scores when overclocking N580GTX Twin Frozr II/OC GPU

    Hello everyone,
As the thread title says, I can't get any better stable score than the poor one I get with GPU's @stock settings on benchmarks when I try overclock my N580GTX Twin Frozr II/OC GPU
Here is the score I get with @stock settings on KMARK BENCHMARK Preset: Extreme (1920X1080 fullscren) (60 sec) & FurMark Benchmark Preset: 1080 (60sec)
On KMARK BENCHMARK Preset: Extreme (1920X1080 fullscren) if I try to up the Core Clock speed, even to 810 MHz, I get a scrambled animation and +/- 14 FPS
I tried to up the Core Voltage, same probleme, animation is still scrambled, and there are the screens :
On KMARK BENCHMARK Preset: Normal (1280X720 fullscren) the animation is stable BUT the more I increase the Core Clock, the lower FPS I get
I was able to run the KMARK BENCHMARK Preset: Normal (1280X720 fullscren) (60 sec) with a Core Clock @1000 MHz Core (Core Voltage uped to 1150 Mv) before the driver crashed.
So, it was +/- stable with a Core Clock @990 MHz but with extremly low FPS ! Same for Furmark benchmark preset @720 (60 sec)
Already too many screens on this post won't add on top of it
My main concern is WHY do I get lower score / FPS when I try to OC the GPU? Should be the opposite, that's the purpose of OC stuff.
Can I get better score / FPS with this GPU ?
How do I proceed to OC my GPU ?
I run latest MSI AfterBurner tool, then rise the Core Clock of 10 MHz, then run a benchmark till driver crashes.
When the driver stop responding with the set Core Clock, I raise the Core Voltage of 10 mV steps till the test passes and so on
But again, I've never got any better score / FPS while uping the Core Clock / Core Voltage it's even worst
What are my sys specs ?
PSU : Cooler Master GX 650W
SSD1 : OCZ AGILITY III 60Go with W7 64 bits installed on it + drivers
SSD2 : OCZ VERTEX III 120Go for apps / games
HDD3 : WD 500 Go for storage etc.
Thanks for reading, I know it's a long post but I tried to be precise as possible to desribe my issue.
Note: I see on my Mainboard an ATX 6-PIN Power Connector (just above the PCI Express 2.0x1 slot) on which I didn't connect any cable.
I only connected the ATX 8-PIN Power Connector (on top left) and the ATX 24-PIN Power Connector
Maybe the GPU is under-powered ? (It's my first build, and I'm scared to plug a wire on it)
Note 2: OC GENIE button is on

    Read this link. http://www.techpowerup.com/134460/Disable-GeForce-GTX-580-Power-Throttling-using-GPU-Z.html
The higher you push the card the more restrictive it may become due to throttling.
Test your card in real games and see how it performs there.
Very interesting indeed, and very disappointing same time. I followed the instructions for GPU-Z and nothing has changed, scores/FPS remain the same.
Again, first build, first OCs, I must do something wrong, but anyway, for that price range, not being able to get better results is extremly disappointing.
Had lot of hope coming to post on here as I read many good support from all of you.
But looks like my case is desperate

  • Geforce 970 disabled my sound card!!

Hello everybody! This post is my first one in the forums. Nice to make all of your acquaintances!
My issue is the following. My system is an X58 board, and it had an old Geforce 9800 as well as a Sound blaster Z Card. Everything was working perfectly, without any issue whatsoever. I recently upgraded my video card for an MSI 970 GTX 4G. When I installed the card drivers, I allowed them to install Nvidia HD Audio. Big mistake
Nvidia HD Audio installed a whole heap of HDMI devices, for some reason made my Sound Blaster device disappear from the device manager, and now Windows cannot even detect my sound card! And I don´t even use the HDMI connector! I use DVI!
The steps that I have taken to try the correct the issue are the following:
    1) Set my preferred audio device to the Sound Blaster in the Audio Control Panel. Result: Does not work, since the Sound Blaster is not even being detected by Windows.
    2) Uninstall and reinstall the 970, but without selecting Nvidia HD Audio. Result: No dice; Windows now installs generic drivers for the Nvidia devices, and it still will not recognize my sound blaster.
    3) Reformat!!!  Result: Fail, Windows still does not recognize my Sound Blaster, and it still installs generic drivers for the Nvidia Audio by default.
    4) Disable and reenable onboard sound in the BIOS. Does not really help because that works on the crappy Realtek integrated card that my board includes, for which I precisely bought the Sound Blaster to replace.
    5) The only way my Sound Blaster works again is by completely removing the 970 and going back to my old 9800. So the card works; it is not fried.
So it is pretty safe to assume that the culprit is the 970, which is causing some sort of hardware conflict. I have seen various users complain about the same thing with nvidia cards when doing a Google Search. However, no proposed solution in the forums has brought me any luck in my case.
So Nvidia and MSI, what the heck? If this problem has been going on for years and in various occasions, shouldn´t you guys have a fix for it already? And most importantly for me, how can I fix it in my case??? The 970 works great as a video card, but who made you guys think that it is an audio card too??
    My specs:
    XFX X58i
    i7-920 stock clocks
    12 Gb RAM
    Samsung 840 Evo 256
    Sound Blaster Z
    Old: EVGA Geforce 9800 1GB
    New: MSI GTX 970 4G
    850W PSU, XFX Black Edition
    Windows 7 Pro 64bit

Hi Nichrome! Thanks for your answer!
Thankfully, I was able to solve the issue. Apparently what caused the problem was that in this particular motherboard, you can´t just arbitrarily plug a pcix card in any slot; they have to follow a certain order. I had the 970 in the first slot and the sound card in the third slot, because I wanted the fans on the 970 to be unobstructed. But I switched the sound card to the second slot and voila! Problem solved.
Just to be safe, and for whoever else might be reading this post, when reinstalling everything, I installed the geforce with generic drivers first and then disabled the generic hd audio device that installs automatically. Only after that did I plug the sound card and installed it without any problem. When installing the Nvidia drivers, I made sure to NOT install the HD Audio stuff. Holding a rosary and garlic, as well as threatening the pc with a wooden stake also seemed to help!

  • OpenGL features are disabled with GeForce FX 5200 [CS4]

Yeah my video card is kind of old, but it should support OpenGL shouldn't it?
Anyway I've installed the latest drivers and even tried Adobe's "force old card" reg hack and still it doesn't work.
Is there something else I may be missing?
    Thanks

I don't think so. You really might be one of the unlucky ones who aren't worthy of Adobe's new vision of the future. ;-) Regrettable, but I guess you can't sue them over it, so maybe Santa can bring you a new card for Christmas...

  • CS4 is Constantly disabling GPU enhancements

Each time I open CS4 and the initial image I get this message, "Photoshop has encountered a problem with the display driver, and has temporarily disabled GPU enhancements. Check the video card manufacturer's website for the latest software."
I'm writing to the Adobe Forum because GeForce feels they are not the cause of the problem. Here is what I've done toward resolving this problem:
As a side note let me add here that after upgrading CS2 to CS4 this error message appeared religiously. That caused me to purchased an Nvidia GeForce 9600 GT display adapter w/ 512mb memory. Prior to installing the new card I downloaded their newest drivers for this card after removing the old drivers. Originally I had a GeForce 7600 card. The error message continued with the new card. I've searched the settings within CS4 trying to find an option that would resolve the problem. This machine has a new motherboard, a D945GNT Intel board. It will support 64-bit however I'm currently running XP Pro 32-bit, SP3. It also has a new Pentium D dual core processor. I have 4 GB of RAM.
Have I overlooked a setting in the CS4 program that will resolve the issue? The graphics are slow to regenerate if you move in or out. Bridge is slow to generate all images in folders. As I view the tutorials on the Net I see normal regens where mine are slow. And last but certainly not least, other programs are slow to open. I've done several virus scans and turned up nothing. I've run chkdsk /r on all of my drives. I've run defrag on all my drives as well as Disk Cleanup.
I've got a copy of Vista Ultimate heading my way. I'm prepared to wipe the c-drive and begin over. Do you think my problems will go away after the new operating system in installed or is this my second bad 9600 GT video card?

    Folks,
I tested several older and newer cards with the new CS4 enhancements on Win XP SP3 workstations. Here my lowdown (or 2 cents):
Issues on all cards, no matter what:
-All cards did have the one issue when displaying an image on a 2nd monitor: Background showing through. Just maximize the image window and the problem is gone. This happens to all my 6 video cards, no matter what driver, brand or GPU!
How to avoid the "GPU Message" and reduce drawing issues:
Here two cards that deliver a pretty decent price/performance (nothing is perfect, really). Key: The DEVIL IS IN THE GPU SETTINGS DETAILS! With these settings, we had a good performance with brushes, clone/healing, zooming and NO MORE GPU MESSAGE:
    NVidia GeForce 8600 - 512MB
Use the following settings, and the error messages are gone:
    -Vertical Sync: Yes
    -3D Interaction: Blank/Disabled
    -Force Bilinear Interpolation: No
    -Advanced Drawing: Yes
    -Use for Image Display: Yes
    -Color Matching: Yes
    ATI Radeon 4670 - 1GB
    -Vertical Sync: No
    -3D Interaction: Blank/Disabled
    -Force Bilinear Interpolation: No
    -Advanced Drawing: Yes
    -Use fro Image Display: No
    -Color Matching: Yes
I really believe that you will encounter issues no matter what brand, type or age of GPU you're using. The Trick is to find the perfect GL settings for your card. Based on my research, the OS seems to have no impact.
    Hope this helps,
    Cheers,
    Bruno
