  • How do I disable message notifications

    I do not want my text messages to interfere with what I am doing on my macbook. How do I disable notifications on macbook pro so they only appear on my iPhone??

    Great! You'll find that iPhones and Macs go together like peas in a pod. Greater than the sum of their parts.

  • Cannot disable message notification sound

    This is a little weirder than it sounds.  I have unchecked the incomming message sounds.  Its always worked just fine.  But as of today when one of my contacts messages me I get the incomming sound notification.  Its unchecked.  I even tried disabling sounds in skype.  It still kept doing it.  Whats stranger is this is the only contact that makes the sound notification.  All the others are still silent.    I tried enabling the incomming sound with a custom sound file that was just silent.  Even this didnt work.  I have updated skype to the latest version and I'm running win7.  Any help would be great.  Thanks.

    I have the same problem, double notifications sounds because skype is running on desktop and in browser. I am sorry but why is this unlinking of accounts in every thread a accepted solution. This not a solution. I am fed up with the answer of unlinking your microsoft account from your skype account as a solution.  I was forced into linking my accounts to keep my msn-messenger contacts , so UNLINKING IS NOT A SOLUTION for many people, why on earth do i want 2 accounts for the same company their services. The other solution of signing out/going invisible is also not a solution. Since if you make yourself invisble , you turn invisble everywhere. If you sign out , well you sign out of your mail client. See ,I  could live with the enteir integration of skype in outlook but come on guys. This is going on like 3 years now and still you are clueless that a browser is fine for outlook but for IM it just lacks fine tuning.  The new skype integration looks at least a lot better but :a) again no settings for the skype part in outlook, at least a mute button would be nice. If I am working /relaxing /listening music , the only way to get skype in outlook.com to shut up is mute browser , mute OS , sign out or unlink accounts ,....?c)You call it beta software , with no option to opt out of beta unless unlinking account ? <- this one really baffles me

  • After updating to Firefox 7.0.1, menu bar for Google, yahoo, Facebook (message, notification, profile, home) and others site are disabled. How can solve this problem?

    after updating to Firefox 7.0.1, menu bar for Google(web ,image, video, map etc),yahoo, Facebook (message, notification, profile, home) and others site are disabled. even I cant log out from different sites cz the log out bar is completely disabled. I tried with Firefox 4;5 and 6, same problem exist . I tried by active all add ons for facebook, same problem exist. If I use internet explorer , I don't find such problem with it.
    How can I solve this problem?

    Thanks a lot for your swift response. And sorry if it was a bit too hectic to go through my detailed query (which I did because it was misunderstood when I asked previously). As I've mentioned above, I was informed that updating to 5.0.1 would '''require''' me to '''delete''' the current version and then install the new one. And doing so will involve losing all my bookmarks. I guess I should have been more specific and detailed there. By losing, I didn't mean losing them forever. I'm aware that they're secured in some place and deleting and installing the software doesn't harm its existence. What I meant that if I install the new version, I'd have to delete the old one. And after installing the new version, I'd have to transfer them (bookmarks) back from wherever they are. Get it? When it updated from 3.6.9 to 3.6.13, and from 3.6.13 to 3.6.18, I didn't need to follow that process. They were already present on their own.
    BTW, I'm having no problems with 3.6.18 but after learning about the existence of version 5.0.1, I'm a bit too eager to lay my hands over it.
    Thanks for your help; hope this wasn't extremely long.

  • Is there a way to disable previously viewed iMessages from appearing as Messages notifications when waking my MacBook Pro from sleep?

    Is there a way to disable previously viewed iMessages from appearing as Messages notifications when waking my MacBook Pro from sleep?  Regardless of whether I am using iMessage from  my iPhone or iPad, when I open my MBP, I get attacked by Messages notifications for iMessages I've obviously already seen or responded to.  Is there a way to change this?  Are others having this issue?
    Additionally,  previous iMessages sent or received from those  devices sometimes don't populate into the Messages window on the MBP.  I haven't been able to identify when or what causes this; sometimes it just doesn't seem to work (and I verified that the messages sent/received were, in fact, iMessages and not SMS).
    Thanks - any help or insight would be appreciated!

    First you need to determine what laptop model you have; then we can help you. A Mac Book Pro cannot run OS 9.1.
    With your Mac booted up, click on the  at the far left of the menu. Then click on About This Mac. It will show what version of OS  you are running. What is the version?
    A MBP will be running something like version 10.x.
    If you are running version OS 9.x, you don't have a Mac Book Pro.
     Cheers, Tom

  • How can I disable the notification sound for remaining credit messages

    My operator sends me a message after every call and text which tells me what remains of my monthly allowances. This is very useful and I don't want to turn it off. I've just got myself a Z10 and the only thing that annoys me about it is that I have not yet found out how to disable the notification sound for this type of message. The device is stock with the latest firmware and no apps.
    I can change the notification for normal text messages in the settings, but there is no obvious entry to change for these messages. Does anyone know how to do it?

    If the message comes in the (bell) notifications it can only be switched OFF globally.
    If it is a text message, you can create a contact with the number, then Setting - Notifications - Contacts - Customise - Phone Calls, Email Messages, Text Messages, Other Messaging

  • Possible to disable all notifications in iOS 5?

    In iOS 4, when I wanted to take a nap, I would go to settings->notifications->off.  That would disable all notifications, so I would only be woken by a phone call or a text message, not by a notification.  In iOS 5, I no longer see a way to turn off all notifications.  The only way to do it is to silence or turn off my phone, but then I will miss important calls and text messages.  Is there a way to turn off all notifications while leaving the ringer on, without having to turn off the notifications app-by-app?
    If not, I hope Apple restores this functionality.

    God, this is annoying.  I tried the workaround suggested to turn off cellular data and wi-fi.  This almost solved the problem.  But I quickly discovered that it didn't work quite the way I expected it to.  I turned off data and wi-fi and went to take a nap.  I was awoken by a reminder (apparently, those are activated by the iPhone, rather than pushed by the cloud).  And then, when I re-enabled cellular data and wi-fi, I received an iMessage from my wife that she had sent a few minutes earlier.  I had read elsewhere that SMS/MMS would go through even if data and wi-fi were turned off, but apparently that's not the case with iMessages (if someone else has experience with this, please confirm).  In iOS 4, I could turn off notifications with the click of a button, in which case I would be awoken by text messages and unbothered by calendar reminders, which is exactly what I wanted.  Now all I've got is a clumsy workaround that gives me the opposite result.
    I read that if you plug something into the headphone jack, you'll only hear the iPhone speaker if the phone rings.  I'd be interested to know whether you hear the speaker when an SMS/MMS/iMessage arrives as well (which is what I want), and in no other circumstances.  Maybe I'll experiment with this after I finish my nap.  If someone else knows whether this is an effective workaround, please post here.
    And if anyone knows of a better workaround, please post that as well.
    By the way, I've left feedback at
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html I encourage all of you to do the same.

  • Ios 8.1.2 message notifications not working

    Hey guys,
    so I have a problem with notifications. I don't get any for certain Apps.
    Hardware: iPhone 5S
    OS: iOS 8.1.2
    App-Updates: All up 2 date.
    Problem: messaging notifications aren't working for: WhatsApp Messenger, Telegram Messenger, Wire, BBM Messenger.
    Problem description: I don't get notifications (Lock screen, on app notifications (red dots on the app), drop down notification center, sounds) for above named apps. Notification settings are set, background app refresh on all apps are activated. This also happens on wifi, so it's not a 3G only problem.
    But notifications are working for: Instagram, Facebook Messenger (ew), tumblr, Twitter.
    What I've tried so far:
    - restarted iPhone
    - reset App notification settings (disable, re-enable)
    - reset App background refresh settings (disable, re-enable)
    - uninstalled and re-installed apps
    - in-App log out and log in again
    - set ringtones (message tones) to standard
    - leaving the app open in background (works only for Telegram)
    Has anybody of you another ideas for me? Bc I'm already a little bit p*ssed off. I need at least the messenger notifications working and I'm running out of ideas. Every suggestion is greatly appreciated.
    And I know that it might be a 3rd party problem but what I don't get is that Instagram for example wasn't updated and worked, but in contrast WhatsApp, Telegram and Wire were updated but notifications don't work, not at all for WhatsApp and Wire. Did Apple change something at the APNs? And why didn't such things happen when Steve was still alive? I'm already a little bit angry at Apple for all the problems in the last few months.
    Anyways, like I said, every suggestion would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks guys!
    Regards,
    Lex

    iOS updated to verion 8.1.3;
    WhatsApp updated to version 2.11.15.348;
    Problem is not resolved on my iPhone 4s.
    This problen is not present on iPhone 4s of my wife with same configuration.

  • Disable signature notifications?

    Is it possible to disable the notifications and the blue bar from the signature panel?
    I have been going back and forth Acrobat's preferences a few times but I can't seem to find an option to disable the signature notifications like "At least one signature requires validating." or "Signed and all signatures are valid."
    I don't need that functionality and it wastes a lot of screen estate for such a small warning, basically it is just an empty blue bar stretching from left to right with a few words in it. What's that  about? And I have to click it to make it go away.
    I've unchecked Verify signatures when the document is opened in Preferences > Security but unfortunately that didn't help.

    In addition to turning off automatic verification, turn off the forms document message bar: Edit > Preferences > Forms > Always hide forms document message bar

  • Disabling Push notifications for SMS

    I'm fairly new to iOS, and I'm trying to find a way to disable the push notifications presented on events -- like when you receive a text message.
    It would be great if there were a way to NOT have push notifications pop up and potentially interrupt whatever I'm doing -- but still have the badge update on the Messages app icon to indicate something new and unread.
    Can this be done, or do we need to wait and hope that Apple puts the webOS notifications guy they hired to good use? My last phone was a webOS one, so I got spoiled with that very slick and arguably "better" notifications system.
    <Edited by Host>

    Apple Development:  This needs to be addressed.  Like the others, my experience on the device is being interrupted by SMS notifications.  I'm watching a movie on my iphone, but my twitter feeds (which goes to my SMS) interrupts the movie constantly with SMS notifications.  Each one pauses my movie, I have to press close, and then unpause.  Really annoying.  There should be a setting to turn-off SMS notifications and let the App Icon's badge counter take care of notifying you of new messages.   Seriously.  This is an annoying issue that should override any perceived benefit of compelling users to "close" SMS message notifications.  Seems like a simple fix, too.  Please help us development.

  • How can I disable Message ?

    Using a Samsung Galaxy S5. I recently received a text message in the Verizon Message+ app even though I have me default messaging app set to Messages. How can I disable Message+ so that all incoming text messages will go to the Messages app? I find Message+ very unintuitive and difficult to use and I do not ever want to use it. Thanks.

    Did you check the Messages app? I would suspect the message ALSO will show up there. Messages may be the default messaging app, but ALL messaging apps installed on the phone can and will read any messages coming into the phone. It appears you simply have notifications turned on for Message+. If you don't want to get notifications for Message+, simply turn those off in the settings for that app.
    Of course you can disable Message+, but I personally think that is an extremely useful messaging app. With it, you can read your text messages on multiple devices so you don't always have to have your phone at your fingertips. Message+ will sync your texts between your phone/tablet/computer so you can send/receive them at whichever device you are currently using. I don't think the stock Samsung GS5 messaging app will do that.
    Regardless, many people think that is a useful facet of Verizon's Message+ app(and the explicit reason I personally prefer this app over many others, including iMessage on an iPhone), but I can see why some people would prefer not to have this capability. Different strokes...

  • Avoiding patches vs disabling update-notifications

    This refers to the sublime-text-nightly AUR package. It is my understanding that we should disable update notifications, since they mean little to the end users as they have to wait for the packager to update the software anyway.
    In this case the software is supplied as a precompiled tarball which will automatically, when started, call home and check for updates. This can be disabled in a system-wide or in a user specific configuration file. So the options are either to do nothing and for the user to find the option themselves if they wish and disable the update notification, or to patch the default configuration file when packaging to disable the update notifications.
    Which is the recommended approach?

    I don't have access to the source code, so removing it at that level isn't an option at all. Instead modifying the shipped configuration is exactly what's on the table.
    Just to clear confusion, I'm not the AUR maintainer, this was 1. so I know what to suggest to the maintainer and 2. To know for the next time this happens. I have written a PKGBUILD which applies this patch and it's here: https://github.com/sakaru/PKGBUILD/blob … y/PKGBUILD
    The build() function is:
    build() {
    # Patch the default Preferences package to disable update notifications
    cd "${srcdir}/sublime_text_3/Packages"
    unzip Default.sublime-package Preferences.sublime-settings
    patch Preferences.sublime-settings < "${srcdir}/disable-update-notifications.patch"
    zip Default.sublime-package Preferences.sublime-settings
    rm Preferences.sublime-settings
    tomk wrote:I'd just use a post-install message advising users that they should disable the update check themselves.
    Perhaps that's the best option

  • How can i disable sound notification on ROSA?

    My rosa has too many "unit not responding" alarms.
    i want to disable only sound notification for "unit not responding" on ROSA
    Sent from Cisco Technical Support iPhone App

    Hi Eun Jin-ki
    Do you want to disable sound notification for only "Unit not responding" messages? Or do you want to disable sound notification for any message. You can disable the sound notification for all messages or enable only for specific message levels via the menus option Messages/Options. You can also try the option "Repetitive Alarm Suppression" on this Message/Options page to suppress repetitive alarms over a configurable period. Of course, this will apply to both the sound and the pop-up notifications.
