Disabling phone ring sound?

I have two Macs.  When my iPhone rings, both Macs start ringing as well.  Is it possible to disable this sound on one of the Macs?  I'd still like to see the visual notification.

  • Disable/Enable Phone Ringer?

What's the easiest way to turn off/on the Phone Ringer?  I know I can do it by going to Settings>ringtones+sounds>Ringer, but this is not very convenient when you need to temporarily disable the Ringer for meetings, etc. at work.  There must be a faster/easier way, but I haven't found it yet -- and God forbid I have to read the manual.  Thanks!!
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    very easy...
tap the up or down volume key, then just tap the right icon in the top right of your screen to alternate between ring+vibrate/vibrate or ring/silent
the difference between the two is only dependant on if you have enable the vibrate feature.

I spoke to the reseller today and they aggred to exchanged it. They didn't elaborate on the actual cause but thought that it had to be a hardware issue.
It could either be the issue that Euvix suggested or it could be as simple as the outer speaker is simply not working.
Anesi, did you use the phone before the upgrade? Looking at what you've written I take you didn't so I would go back and get it exchanged.

  • Since upgrading to iOS 6, none of the sounds are working. I checked to make sure the volume is turned up and that sound is on. But nothing, except the phone ring works when I get a call n

Since upgrading to iOS 6, sound is not working on my iPhone 4S. The phone ring works but nothing else, including Siri.

My wife's phone had similar symptoms, at least with the text notification alert not working.  I have narrowed it down to happening after we use the new navigation feature in the Maps.  When we power the phone off and back on, the alert sound seems to return.  I haven't tried just "killing" the Maps app after we use it...perhaps that would work as well.

    Hi Guys,
My iPhone is stuck in a mode where it thinks the headset is still plugged in.
I cant get any sounds through the speaker. Cant hear sms or emails arrive. If the phone rings i hear it but pple cant hear me or i cant hear them.
The phone works fine with the headphones plugged in.
I have tried all the usual solutions, inserted and removed the headset (at least 50 times)
    Soft reboot
    full restore
Nothing seems to work. I have searched on this and it seems to be a well know issue but there doesnt seem to be any firm solutions that i can find to fix the problem

If no change after inserting and removing the headset at least 50 times, powering the iPhone off and on, an iPhone reset, and restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the backup, the iPhone has a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at an Apple Store if there is one nearby.

  • HT4528 Since updateing with the new IOS 7.1 on my 4s, I have NO sound coming from my speakers or volume control, but I DO have sound when my phone rings.  How do we fix this problem?

I updated my phone last night with the new iOS7.1  my phone worked fine before updating.  Since updating, I have no sound from music or videos, but I do have sound when my phone rings.  anyone know how to fix this?  I have already done a restore that did nothing.

Clean iPhone charging port with toothbrush and small amount of isopropyl alcohol. If still problem the faulty part is charging port assembly with flex cable, lower mic, and connector of home button flex. Apple handles this problem with replacement iPhone 4S with Warranty or AppleCare coverage, if no coverage it is $199.

I had this problem with my 4s a couple of times when I'd taken the headphones out and it hasn't registered it. My solution was easy, all I had to do was turn the phone off and then on again.
Although I'm sure you've already tried this its a sometimes forgotten and very easy solution to a lot of problems. I hope you find out what's wrong.

  • When making a phone call, can't hear the ringing sound

On my iPhone 5s, when I'm calling someone, I don't hear the usual ringing sound until the person picks up. I'm not talking about the touch tones when dialing a number, nor am I referring to the ring tone when I have an incoming call. Simply the every-two-seconds ringing indicator once you've dialed a number, before the person picks up. Once someone picks up, the call quality is fine.
This started happening randomly this afternoon. I've had the phone for about a month; currently on iOS 7.1.1.

The only option you have is to put the phone on mute using the side control when you answer the phone.

  • How can I Divert or sound engaged if phone rings w...

    Hi,
If I am currently on a call using my online number & then someone else tries to call that number.
Is it possible to have my phone either sound engaged or divert to voicemail/alternative number instead of ringing out?

Definitely monitors. It doesn't matter how
well your room is tuned, nor what kind of mics or
mixer you have, if the actual speakers are not up to
par. If your speakers are putting out inaccurate
sound, then you'll never get a good mix. Not to say
that a well-tuned room isn't well worth the price.
I'm just saying that if you have to choose one or the
other, go with the monitors. Then, when your budget
allows, tune your room, or get Neumanns, or
    whatever.
But, get powered speakers, so that you don't have to
put the signal through a crappy amp before it gets to
    the speakers.
For under $500, I'd probably suggest the
    M
ackie HR624. Sweetwater is listing them
    her
e for $449.99. They're good speakers for the
price, they're powered, and they'll definitely give
you a more accurate picture of what you're doing than
a home stereo system, which is build more for
    "excitement" than studio accuracy.
Edited to add: P.S., if you can afford an extra $150,
I'd recommend stepping up to the Mackie HR824, which
is a little bit bigger speaker. Sweetwater sells them
    for a little over $600.00
Wow, I couldn't disagree more. I'll take a good room before half-as*ed monitors any day.
Monitors are CRUCIAL for good mixes, so I would save my money and get something that will last me for 20 years or more. Don't skimp on analog components (preamps). Don't buy cheap transducers (mics, speakers).
A $500 input into most rooms will make a world of difference, and will improve the music SO much more than a pair of HR624s, which, while not a bad set of speakers by any means, are not something I'd consider as my "20 year" set of monitors. By contrast, those MiniTraps will ALWAYS be useful.
