Disabling progress status window permanently

Is it possible to permanently disable the square progress status window that appears when I convert documents to PDF files?

I just canceled out of one yesterday afternoon running under LV 8.2 with no issue. If you are removing the old data, did you shutdown the app using the DB?
If that doesn't help the only answer I know of sounds like I am being a wise-arse.
Post an zip that demonstates this issue then "take two upgrades and post back next year."
I don't mind locked VI if they work. When they don't I have no choice but to be frutstrated. The lock-down tie-up with Shared variables combined with what appears to be poor testing (historical trends recall funtion swapped start and stop times because developer did not use type defs, intermittant lock-ups of the DB on multiple machines with absolutley no tools to troubleshoot, ... ) has resulted in me NOT recomending DSC for an app for a couple of years now. The only reason I still touch it is I have apps running DSC for ten years and they have to keep running.
Sorry to dump on you. If we ever meet we can discuss who is more disappointed.

  • Apogee Dither in Logic 9: Should there be a status window that says "Dithering" and a progress bar like in Logic 8?

    When I used Logic 8 there was a status window post bounce for the application of dithering from 24 to 16 bit. In Logic 9 there is not a status window: After the bounce it's done processing audio. I'm using the Apogee dither. Is this a change, i.e. can the dither be applied real-time or something else that I haven't considered, or is this an error? I've bounced a bunch of audio since I downloaded Logic 9 on a clean box, and it never shows a status window for the dither. I enjoy using a dither because I can hear a difference in quality in how the dither preserves some data from the 24 bit spectrum, instead of truncating ("removing," or "leaving out") the 24 bit data (I believe that it's the lower 8 bits that are truncated, if no dither is applied). I'd appreciate anyone who knows leaving a reply, because I'd hate to release audio and find out later that the quality bits were left out. Thanks!

    This seems to be integrated into the bounce process. Try it out with a sine wave @ -80 dB or lower.

  • Issue with disabling teredo with Windows Server 2008(non R2)

     Hello,
    I am not able to disable teredo on Windows Server 2008 (non R2) .When I try to run the same set of commands on Windows Server 2008 R2 it works fine.I have followed the instructions as in the below link

    C:\Windows\system32>netsh interface teredo show state

    I have also tried changing the below registry to disable teredo , that didnot work as well.
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip6\DisabledComponents DWORD value set to 8.But the teredo status for the netsh command remains the same even after reboot.
    When I try to disable the 6to4 or isatap it works fine.I have checked in device manager ->network adapters with show hidden devices enabled, but I dont see teredo adapter even when teredo is enabled as per netsh.Also I dont see teredo adapter in add
    legacy hardware- > network adapters - > Microsoft devices , but I see isatap and 6to4 adapters in there.
    Can someone please help me..
    Thanks in Advance

    Hi,
    In device manager, add legacy hardware, install Teredo adapter, update the drivers. Reboot and check if you can modify the status.
    If this failed, reset tcp/ip stack.

  • Page Count Missing From Print Job Status Window

    When I print a multi-page document from TextEdit or AppleWorks, the Print Status window does not show the page count. Instead it always shows "Sheet 1 of 1".
    Both TextEdit and AppleWorks show the document as having four pages. A print preview from AppleWorks confirms the document does have four pages. Yet when the document is printed the Print Status window continues to show only "Sheet 1 of 1" with no indication that the document actually has a total of four pages. Nor does it show which pages is currently printing.
    I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8. If I recall correctly, previous versions of Mac OS X showed both the total page count and the currently printing page number, which incremented as the job printed. As it is, there is no way to know the progress of a large print job.
    Any idea what is wrong?
    Thanks.

    Could some check their print status window while a job is printing? Does it always show "Sheet 1 of 1" or does it show the page count that increments as the job prints?
    Thanks.

  • Error updating a progress palette window

    I am updating the progress palette window for each file executed using the fileIterator code that Bob was kind enough to provide. I am updating the status text with the name of each file. This works the first and second time, but on the third iteration I am getting the error:
    Processed ( 0 ): 2005-01-12_0026nanaimo%20second%20growth.jpg
    Processed ( 1 ): 20050104_0004.jpg
    {LiveObject("StaticText").property(0x027f9a58)} is undefined
    When I look at the statictext member it no longer has a text field in the data browser.
    Has anyone encountered this type of error?

    Rory,
    I assume you're playing with the BridgeTalkIterator?
    If so, when you add your message to the Iterator queue, the arguments are:
    btIterator.addMessage( target, script, filename )
    If you include the file name on the addMessage call, it will show the filename in the progress palette for you.
    As for the amazing disappearing statictext element, I have no idea how that could be happening from the iterator itself.
    Could you post the line(s) of code you are using to update the progress palette? It's possible you are overwriting a key property or method name of the statictext element.

  • JApplet / application init / start progress status feedback

    We used to put up a separate JFrame during the initization/startup of our applets/applications for status messages. While o.k. for Java Webstart / application modes (& maybe standalone applet mode), this was not pretty for customers embedding our apps in portals.
    So, the goal became to show custom progress/status on the "gray screen" initial applet contentpane until our app desktop is ready to show. Known threading / painting issues during applet startup made this task somewhat non-trival.
    Searched around here on the jdc & found a nice little Moving Ball class & used that as a base for the play app below. Thought I'd post this back to jdc in case anyone else finds it useful. The JApplet code has a main, so same code should work for the app whether deployed as a (plug-in) applet, application JAR or Web Start app.
    The code should show a RED moving ball during init, a YELLOW one during start and a GREEN one after start method is done (w/ball x position update in scrolling pane)....
    import javax.swing.*;
    import java.awt.*;
    import java.awt.event.WindowListener;
    import java.awt.event.WindowAdapter;
    import java.awt.event.WindowEvent;
        cforster: Uses Ball painting code (from jdc) & separate status area to simulate JApplet
        startup msgs to be shown to user during applet init...
        Point is to show status during applet/application initialization (init / start) methods...
        Can JAR this up & try in appletviewer or using 1.4.2+ plugin, etc.
        With main() also usable in application / Webstart mode....
        If going the application route (or double-click JAR route), need JAR manifest.mf like:

  • Hide document window and set progress bar window in front...

    Hi everyone,
    We have created the batch script to generate artlink reports from multiple inx files and writing it into a text file.
    Our script will open each document from the selected folder and generating the art link reports. From starting to end of the process the progress bar window will takes place to show the status of the process. The concern is, the progress bar window has been sent to back after opening of each document. Is it possbile to minimize the documents window, so the progress bar window alone displayed in the screen as front most window.
    Can anyone look into this and help me out. Thanks in advance.

    Hi Thomas,

  • Resizing windows permanently?

    Sorry if it's too trivial, but I can't figure out how to resize a Finder window permanently (when I resize a window, close it, and then open it again, it'll just open in the default size).
    Thanks in advance for your help...

    How to set a preferred view
    There are several ways you may open a given item in a new Finder window for the purpose of saving a view, but this method is the simplest. Follow these steps:
    1. Close open Finder windows.
    2. Click the Finder icon in the Dock.
    3. Choose Preferences from the Finder application menu.
    4. Click "Always open folders in a new window" to enable that option.
    5. Open the item for which you wish to set a view. It should appear in its own new window.
    6. Set the desired view in the new window.
    7. Close the new window.
    8. Repeat Steps 5 to 7 for any item you wish to set.
    9. If desired, click "Always open folders in a new window" to disable that option.
    10. Close the Finder Preferences window.
    And this is from the Finder's Mac Help (Help menu):
    Changing how items are shown in Finder windows
    You can change the way applications, folders, documents, and other items appear in Finder windows. For example, you can choose to view items as icons, in a list, or in columns. You can also change the size of the icons and the icon text.
    To see the items in a Finder window displayed as icons, in a list, or in columns, click a View button along the top of the window.
    To change additional characteristics of the current view (for example, to show only specific columns in list view or to change the icon size in icon view), choose View > Show View Options. Then make your choices.
    If you chose icon or list view, you can change all windows that use the same view or only the current window. To do this, select "This window only" or "All windows" in the Show View Options window.
    To change the size of a column when in column view, drag the bottom of the column divider (where the two vertical lines appear). To change the size of all columns at once, hold down the Option key as you drag a divider.
    To always use column view when you open a Finder window, choose Finder > Preferences and click General. Select "Open new windows in column view."
    If you choose icon or list view, the Finder saves your view settings. The next time you open the window you will see the same view settings you chose previously.
    You can also customize the items that appear in the toolbar of Finder windows, or you can change the overall look of windows.

  • Can I stop Time Machine from showing the little status window?

    Hello,
    I have Time Machine backing up successfully to an attached USB drive. I've only had it for a couple of days, but I noticed it started popping up a small "status" window whenever it's backing up. It's the same style window you get when you're downloading something. Is there an option so that doesn't pop up when TM is active? The icon on the top is enough notification for me. This one is kind of annoying!

    Pondini wrote:
    There is a small window with a progress bar, when Time Machine is doing it's initial full backup. Surely you're not seeing that every time?
    Not every time, but definitely more than once. How could I post a screen shot here? I can if needed. I don't think it was a full backup, since it said it was only about 20 GB in size.
    If it's really doing a full backup each time, something is clearly wrong. If in doubt, Click here to download the +Time Machine Buddy+ widget. It shows the messages from your logs for one TM backup run at a time, in a small window. Navigate to the most recent backup that showed the window, then copy and post all the messages for that run here.
    Also tell us how much data is on your system (the +Estimated size of full backup+ under the exclusions box in TM Preferences > Options), how large your TM drive is, and how much data is on it (via +Get Info+ on the drive).
    Estimated size of full backup 49.37 GB
    Size of TM drive 320 GB (it's actually a 1TB USB drive, but I partitioned it)
    Data on my MBP drive: 49.54 GB
    As I type this it's doing another backup, but no progress bar, and it's only 18.9 MB
    Anyway thanks for the tip on the TM Buddy. Here is the log from the last big one it did from when I posted the question...looks like there are a bunch of errors! FYI in the logs below "Time Capsule" is what I called the USB drive partition. It's not "the" Apple Time Capsule.

  • Show build status window programmatically

    Is there a way to show the build status window progress bar when the application builder is started programmatically via the BuildTargetBuildSpecification.vi? Since it takes quite some time to create a build for our applications (> 1 h) it would be nice to see how much time it is left when a build is started.
    I've seen the question posted before about this (http://forums.ni.com/ni/board/message?board.id=170&message.id=204846&query.id=1234930#M204846), but that was some years ago... There are quite many vi's in the AppBuilder directory but most of them are undocumented and not that easy to guess how to use.

    You might be able to use the paintImmediately() method. Here is a thread that gives you and idea of how to use this method:

  • Updates in progress - status non-compliant

    I deployed my latest software updates (Patch Tuesday) a few days ago to my XP client collection (yes - I know it's going away soon :)) and I see that looking at the Deployment Status they are reading as
    In progress but status set to non-compliant.
    Strangely I had pushed the same deployment to my test collection a week previously and they had installed normally.
    I had a look at various logs and everything seems to have no discernible errors but looking at a sample of the computers in question shows that the updates have NOT installed.
    Opening the 'more details' pane for each computer shows that the software updates are set to a status of
    required.
    Confused as to where to look now to troubleshoot.
    My software update deployment to my Windows 7 collection is successful. No errors in the deployment status window.
    Any help or pointers are appreciated.
    Thanks,
    John

  • Write-Progress -Status span mulitple lines

    Is it possible for Write-Progress -Status to span multiple lines? The status is showing the file being copied and to the location it is being copied to, which can get very long and runs off the console window. I have tried adding `r`n but that doesn't
    work, so I am thinking it is a no, but figured I would ask.

    Don't Retire Technet

    The progress bar in Write-Progress is based on the width buffer size of the console window. If the width buffer is greater than the actual console window width, then it will spill off of the console.
    There is no way to my knowledge to make this span multiple lines other than to write your own type of progress bar or to make a proxy function for Write-Progress.

  • Hide wireless status window

    Hi,
    I am kind of annoyed by the "Wireless status" window popping up everytime I switch my wireless status. Is there a way to suppress this?
    OS: Win7 x64 (but a Vista solution should work ^^)
    Thanks in advance : )

    Hi Ryan,
    Thanks for your answer
    I'm creating an Addon that integrates a DLL with LabVIEW. Inside the DLL's code, I'm using some of the LabVIEW functions to transfer data (as you suggested). I'm also using a function called DbgPrintf, included in extcode.h. That function opens a "LabVIEW console"... it is a window called "Debugging window" and it's not a Windows console. In the documentation explains the following:
    LabVIEW has a debugging window you can use with external code to display information at run time. You can open the window, display arbitrary print statements, and close the window from any CIN.
    DbgPrintf("");
    /* print an empty line, opening the window if necessary */
    DbgPrintf("%H", var1);
    /* print the contents of an LStrHandle (LabVIEW string-->, opening the window if necessary */
    DbgPrintf(NULL);
    /* close the debugging window */
    I would like to use this to allows users to debug the DLL from LabVIEW. That way an advanced user would enable the Debugging window and see what is going on. The problem is whenever I include a call to DbgPrintf call in my code the Debugging window is shown. That might be confusing for non-advanced users. So I was looking for a way to enable/disable that Debugging window from LabVIEW.
    Do you have any ideas/suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Sara
