Disabling Security Center options

I've found in the User Policy Package | Win XP Group Policy where you
can disable Windows Auto Updates and disable Windows Firewall. But is
there anyway to stop the Alerts from popping up saying that the firewall
or update settings are disabled? I know how to do it manually, but is
there anything on the GPO that can be pushed out?
Thanks

  • Disabled Secure BOOT option in G580 Bios options

How do I disable this setting in the Bios?  Do I have to turn in off in Windows 8 first?
I have the option but I can not arrow to it and turn it off or on.  Only way to disable it is by brute force and turn off UEFI boot option and set it as Legacy.
    I am obviously missing something.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You don't have to disable it ........... Just when you are shutting down the device Press (SHIFT + SHUTDOWN from the power menu) .........
    This will do it

  • Group Policy item for Security Center

What's the easiest way to do this?
I want to disable the security center popup.Windows XP Pro SP2, zen 3.2sp2
Roaming profiles (for students, a single volatile profile is in use).
I've attempted a few things to get this screen from showing up. I run
fortres, but the security center screen comes up before fortres has
initialized on the machine. I've tried wiping out the wscntfy.exe, but it's
    self-repairing.
I tried to build an adm to add to the user extensible policies in the
package, but it's either being ignored or I've got the wrong key
    (HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Security Center\FirstRun=dword:00000001).
I noticed that if I turn off the notification on the workstation, it appears
to be in the LM hive and sticks around for subsequent users. But the next
user to use the machine has the thing pop up everytime (because the
notification that they have seen the screen once disappears when their
    profile is wiped out).
I guessed that this is the time that I would truly have to switch over to
Windows Group Policies rather than relying on the unsupported user
extensible policies (which have been working fine for me for quite some
    time).
But when I tried to get the security center in the group policy editor
(launched from console 1), it isn't there at all. How do I add the proper
snapin to this editor so that I can apply security center settings?

I am unable to connect to the iTunes Store.  This issue began yesterday, 3/11/13.  I previously have been able to connect to the store successfully on this computer which runs Windows 7 and Security Center since November.  I also used the iTunes Store on my previous computer for several years.  I am able to connect to the store with my new iPod Touch 5th generation.  I did a Google search for Error Code -1202 but did not find any pertinent results.  I would greatly appreciate any assistance in troubleshooting this situation.  Thank you!

  • Security Center has detected Malware on your computer!

Is this an apple update or virus? I received a gbn.upatenotice.aa stating WINDOWS REQUIRES IMMEDIATE ATTENTION - URGENT SYSTEM SCAN NOTIFICATION! PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!! ATTENTION! security center has detected malware on your computer! Affected Software: Apple Mac 10.6/10.5/10.4, Microsoft Windows 7, Microsoft Windows Vista, Microsoft Windows XP. They want you to click on the http://www.updatemn.com/ For the link to become active, please click on 'Add to contacts' skype button or type it in manually into your web browser!
I just downloaded skype Sunday. However I noticed about a week ago when I opened a itunes song the wrong song would play.
    Any recommendations?
    Thank You!

Fake alerts, fake clean up utilities, even fake look-alikes pretending to be a well-known product. Such as reported today on ZDnet:
    http://www.zdnet.com/blog/security/from-rogue-av-to-fake-disk-clean-up-utilities /7804?tag=mantle_skin;content
And they want you to be foolish and do something and install software (program, disable firewall, downloads 2nd item of malware) including ransomware or just crash the computer and hope it takes out the directory and more.
Sounds like Skype users might need some type of protection from scams, adware.
There are infected sites. For Firefox you can block javascript and minimize some of the adware/malware served (sql injection has been around for years now).
A site can see your IP address, OS, etc and there are or is one or two adware attacks that have a Mac component to them. But rare.

  • How to disable remote wipe option for mobile devices

    Hi,
I have integrated environment of SCCM 2012 R2 and Windows Intune. I am managing Windows phone, Android and IOS devices through this setup. I was trying find an option to disable remote wipe option in the SCCM Console. Only selective wipe should be available.
Can you please help me on how to configure this setting.
    Regards
    Leela

I got the below response from the micososft intune team.
"Issue Definition: Cx would like remote wipe disabled
    in the Admin console.
Scope Agreement: Disable remote wipe feature from account.
You will not be able to block this feature using Microsoft Intune.  System
Center Configuration Manager might be able to control this feature.  You
might consider opening a case with their team.
The other thing to consider, is to limit the amount of Admin users you have.
Anyone that is given Admin rights in Microsoft Intune will have the ability to
    use the wipe feature.  "
I have raised a ticket with SCCM 2012 team, awaiting their response.
    Regards

    HI!
I have the same problem =)
I have fixed this issue using the "app.fs.isFullScreen = true;" statement.
Doing this you don't see toolbar anymore.
You can use "hideToolbarButton" instruction and, maybe, you can obtain a more interesting result.

    Hi,
The Windows Security Center is part of the Operating system and can't be removed. If you want to disable it:
    Start>Run>services.msc [enter]
Scroll down to Security Center and double-click it to open the Properties. Stop the process from running and change the startup to "disabled".

  • [SOLVED] Disable Secure Boot on Asus Zenbook UX32A

Hi all, I hope I have posted in the right section, please move it otherwise.
I'm trying to install Arch on an Asus Zenbook, but I cannot boot installation media (an USB stick, in this case), as it requires the EFI binary to be signed, and only simple way out is to disable Secure Boot.
Unfortunately I'm not able to disable it from UEFI interface, as it is grayed out. Solutions I've found searching the Web suggested to set a password to BIOS, but even this way I wasn't able to enable it.
Notebook came with Windows 8 built in, and I upgraded BIOS to 214 version.
    Thank you.

Details of the user interface vary greatly from one computer to another. I've got some notes on disabling Secure Boot on an ASUS P8H77-I motherboard here, but they may not apply to your notebook, or there may be an extra trick. Along the latter lines, look for "fast boot" and "CSM" options and try fiddling with them to see if the Secure Boot option becomes alterable.

  • Chrome - have to disable security settings

When I launch my edge animate file and load in Google Chrome, it is saying that my site is not secure. I have to disable security settings to view.  Have I loaded the file incorrectly? What is the work around for this? I cannot have my users disable their security settings to view my site.

    Hi James
We need more info on this to understand the problem. Do you load the Edge Animate runtime over Adobe CDN or use the runtime locally? (You can check about these option in publish settings). Can you please share your composition with us so that we can take a look at it and narrow down what is actually causing a security issue?
Also can you pl see if your issue is similar to this forum post : Publish folder not displaying site in Chrome

    Hi Rishi,
Thank you for your reply, Our portal version is Netweaver731 SPS07, Here we didn't find the parameter “ ume.logon.logon_help” said by you, but instead of this we have “ume.logon.logon_help.security question”, and its already have value "false". We also found security question option disabled under user admin options.
Here screen shots are for your reference.
Note: In our case "security question" showing in the road map but it’s not active and not asking for security question while resetting the password, and this issue is after upgrading from NW7.0 Ehp2  SPS11 to Netweaver731 SPS07.
