Disappearing Calendars & Events

My issue: when opening iCal there's about 20 seconds where my calendars and events will display in the window, albeit with the wrong colors. Then they vanish. The calendars, the events... everything. The problem seems to involve syncing with MobileMe, but I can't figure out what's going on.
I've tried trashing files and using Reset Sync Data in System Preferences, namely:
~/Library/Application Support/iCal
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.iCal.plist
This worked the last time I had this issue, and works as far as getting my calendars and events back into iCal but as soon as I sync the problem returns.
Next I tried opening iSync and using Reset Sync History. No dice.
Then I tried replacing the database. I made a backup of my iCal calanders after restoring them via the method described above and trashed these files:
~/Library/Application Support/Sync Services
~/Library/Application Support/SyncLocalCopy
I restarted but nothing changed.
I'm totally baffled. Any help here would me much appreciated. Thanks!
P.S. I'm using iCal 2.0.5

I had the same problem after syncing with MobileMe, only my calendars disappeared after aprox. 3 secs. The problem stayed even though I completely turned off every connection with MM I could find.
I´t seems to be fixed for me (so far) by deleting the file "User/..../Library/Application Support/Sync Services/Local/data.syncdb" (not the entire folder).
What this does to MobileMe sync or information there, I don´t know, and judged by all the issues people seems to be having with iCal and MM I don´t intend to find out either. I´ll wait and hope for an update. Maybe MM works better with OsX 10.5 ?

Many of my contacts and calendar events have suddenly disappeared. Can they be retrieved?

Mine too. I have a J Home and J Work calendar. The J Home calendar is completely gone and had all my personal events. I checked iCloud and it is gone there. No one has access except me. I opened my calendar on my iphone this afternoon to add an appt for my son. The data was there and basically disappeared in front of my eyes. I didn't touch the calendars menu until everything was gone so it wasn't me. I'm losing my mind right now. Everything is gone...just gone.
I just noticed my wife's shared calendars also no longer appear on my phone or iCloud. Both of her calendars appear on her iCloud and they still say they are shared with me. That's just f****n great. iCloud broke something and I'm the one to suffer. I'll bet anything Apple won't do anything to help as they don't back up iCloud data. I'm sure they do as they are required by law, but they won't admit it. SONOFA!!!!

Calendar disappeared! Last week I updated to IOS7. Today as the clocks ticked over in Australia to 2014 my contacts and calendar events disappeared. Help!

Please help. With the beginning of 2014, my calendar events disappeared. I turned the iPad off, the. On again and repeat events reappeared, but all once off events/ appointments are gone! Everything was there before midnight, but I discovered around 2am, 1.1.14 that everything was gone. Bug? Help! Please.

Are your contacts stored in an MS Exchange server, in iCloud, or some other source? Setting the Sync to less than All Events should not delete events, but only stop showing them on your device. However, Outlook also has a setting to actually delete events older than a certain date. Have you checked that?
If you log in to iCloud.com (and you are syncing with iCloud) what do you see? Whatever is there is all you can get on the iPhone, unless you can restore from another source.
I also suggest enabling iCloud Backup (settings/icloud - Storage and Backup). This will create a new backup any time your phone is connected to power and WiFi, so you will always have a current backup, painlessly.

Very strange! All of my calendar events have reappeared. This has happened one week after downloading iOS 7
The calendar however, is not easy to use.
The typing function on the phone has become even slower. Have to wait for each letter to show on screen.

How can I get my missing calendar events back? They are still on my 3Gs Iphone which I have not yet updated to IOS5.

Plug your phone into the wall charger for at least 30 minutes...make sure you have a sim card in the phone...then:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.
Make sure you have no anti-virus software running or any firewalls...turn all of that stuff off.

Why do all my Calendar events on my iPad 2 disappear when I try to edit an event?

Ever since I updated my iPad 2 to iOS6, a strange quirk occurs with Calendar. If I try to edit a Calendar event on the iPad (no matter what the event is or when it is), all the events in my entire calendar disappear from iPad. They don't actually "delete" themselves because I can then click on Calendars and add my Gmail calendar back. This is extremely annoying, though, and I'd hate for it to decide to wipe them all out food good one day. Has anyone else experienced this bug, and have you found a solution?

You can sort Events manually, but you cannot sort within Events manually. So I'm not sure what you're asking here.

Help!! My calendar events disappeared!! D=

My calendar, contacts, and notes had been only stored on my iPhone, so I decided to sync them with Outlook so that I could restore them if I lost them on my iPhone. While my contacts and notes synced perfectly fine, my calendar events disappeared completely from my iPhone and did not appear in Outlook either. Everything is correctly checked to sync on the info tab. Please help soon! This was the only place I had my calendar stored and I need it back!!!

I just had this happen as well and have found many threads on this issue. Do a search. I don't use outlook but I know I read other people who do. I'm using iCal. I found this link but not sure it would help you.

Notifications for calendar events disappearing

Upgraded from the Yosemite beta and everything seems good, except for one detail. I use the rewinders for my calendar events as a to-do list as they remain on my desktop. But now, my event reminders pop up correctly, but they disappear during the day, including all-day events. I want them to stay on the desktop until I dismiss them, like with Mavericks.

Within the Calendar app, tap Calendars at the bottom center of the screen. Tap on Show All Calendars. Also, ensure all your calendars are switched ON (green side showing) in your email account settings.

Calendar events disappeared after updating to iOS 8.1

i updated to iOS 8.1 yesterday. I had all my calendar events in my iPhone calendar app and WeekCal app this morning. This afternoon, they disappeared. I checked my iCal on my computer. The events are all there. How do I sync the events. I prefer them to go into WeekCal, but at this point, either is fine.

Things I have already tried:
- logging out of itunes, then restarting
- unlinking the device via the 'view Apple ID' menu
- updating to iOS 8.1.2
correction to my original post, it is not all purchased movies and shows it is trying, just 9 specific ones.

My calendar events keep disappearing from my iphone5 a few days after I put them in. I tried all the fixes listed in other questions, but it's not a matter of syncing or not, the appointments disappear and they're not anywhere else either. I need the appointments to stay on my phone, I don't add appointments any other way or on any other device, and when they're gone, I have no idea what I'm missing. It's screwing up my work schedule because I don't know what has disappeared.

Make sure that you do not use "Clear Recent History" to clear the "Browsing History" when Firefox is closed because that prevails and prevents Firefox from opening tabs from the previous session.

Calendar events disappearing ios6

I'm unable to add a calendar event from my phone without it disappearing. I add an event, it shows up in the calendar and then disappears within 10 seconds; never to be seen again.
The calendars are turned on in icloud and my mail accounts. I'm not using Exchange.
Anyone else having this issue?

I should note that it appears to be happening only in past months. A bunch of my calendar items in September have disappeared and when I go to add them back, they don't stay. The delete themselves after a few seconds.

Calendar Events Disappeared

My iphone calendar events have all disappeared and I am unable to add new events. It says the calendar is not "set". How can I "set" the calendar and find the events I've already added??? Help!

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPhone?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPhone shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds).

Exchange Calendar Events Disappearing from iPhone after Editing

iPhone 6 running iOS8.
Exchange calendar events are disappearing from iPhone right after I edit them from my phone. But they are still visible on my MacBook in Outlook.
It used to happen very rarely but lately it has been happening very frequently. Haven't been able to find a pattern and re-create it.
Tried searching online for this issue. Found quite a few threads about calendar sync issues, including the GMT bug but haven't been able to find this exact issue that I have been facing.
Any suggestions will be highly appreciated.

I have the same problem and it has nothing to do with filing or moving emails, for instance just before I logged in here to find a solution for the problem, I had just received and email on my iPad. I was reading it then clicked on a link. When I finished reading the link In Safari and went back to the email, it was gone. I have replied to an email then come back to it and it was gone. This had nothing to do with viewing the email on a ore device. This is a real problem I have asked about before and no one seems to know the answer.
