Disappearing charts

Charts disappear when moving between pages in a report. A crosstab and other text remain justthe chart object and contentents disappear.

It is a combination X/Y stacked bar and line chart combination on the top half of the page and an embeded cross-tab in the bottom of the report. The report utilizes a number of formuals for genreating data, footnotes and chart annotations based on report selection and data.
The charts have been updated montly for almost a year and works fine until this month when a new data row appeared. The chart for the new data appears briefly but when you scroll from that page ALL charts dissappear from the report. I tried to send a JGP of a successfull chart with no success. Additionally I just tried moving the data filtering to a new stored procedure to help reduce memory demands. The results were the same.

Secondary Axis Disappears in Pivot Table Chart

I'm using Excel 2010 and have a pivot chart based off of a PowerPivot table with multiple slicers. The X or secondary axis disappears randomly and the only way to get it to reappear is to go back into the chart property and re-assign the value to the secondary
axis.

I had the same problem. It happens when filtered results doesn't contain values for series i used in the secondary axes. When i toggle off filters and turn back to all results the pivot chart "forget" the secondary axis setting....
Anyone have find a solution?

Data Disappears from Line Chart in Preview Mode

Help! Line chart data present in design mode, but disappears when in preview mode. I have a dashboard that I update monthly. Simple line charts. Now, the line chart data is visible while in the design view, but does not show up when in the preview view or even when converting it to a PDF or Powerpoint. SWF issue? Inputs are needed!

Hi Stan,
The answer to, why the data disappears in runtime mode, depends on how you retrieve the data in your dashboard.
It seems that you have some sample static data in your spreadsheet that shown in design mode. But chances are that this data is set to be overwritten in runtime mode, if you import your data using QAAWS, Live Office or similar.
I would suggest you to add a "spreadsheet table" component (found in the bottom of the Selectors category in the components browser) to your dashboard. Set the spreadsheet table to display some of the cells in the spreadsheet that you expect to get populated during runtime.
In this way you can verify if data is actually present in the relevant cells during runtime.
By the way - this is also a best practice method to test data-retrieval in Xcelsius.

HT204365 when i am in the Top Charts "store", the categories drop down list, next to the library button at the top right corner disappeared..how do i get it back?

on my ipad, in the ibooks app, the categories icon disappeared next to the library icon in the top left hand corner, when i go the the top charts in the store..how do i get it back?

Try 1 of 2 things.
Double tap the Home Button on the iPad > you should see the Dock tray with your apps in > hold on iBooks until you see the app jiggleing with a red circle and white line > tap that red circle > re-opoen iBooks.
If that does not work repeat above but do not open iBooks after you close it, now power off your iPad and turn it back on. You can power it off by holding the power button on top of the device for about 5-10 seconds.

On Pie chart rotation - the labels disappear

I am using followig to rotate a pie chart:

So, when a user tries to drag the pie chart, the chart
rotates. The
chart rotates fine but the labels disappear? why would this
happen and
any solution to this.
Also, I would like to use some other event for rotation
instead of
dragComplet. I would like to do it when user clicks left
mouse
button+moves the mouse (both on the outside of the chart)

Are your fonts embedded? Rotating non-embedded fonts makes
text disappear during rotation.

Flash Chart Disappear on refresh

I am using Apex 4.0.
When using flash charts it works fine until you use asynchronous update.
The chart just disappear .
When you refresh the page it is back but only until the asynchronous update.
I have the problem with the dial and line graphs.
It worked fine in the previuos release of apex.
I have tested it wiit IE8 and Mozilla Firefox
Any ideas ?

The patch that Dimitri has referred to only contains a fix for the APEX 4.0 asynchronous chart update issue with Flash 5 charts. This patch has also been incorporated into our 4.0.1 patch release. Can you please elaborate on the "problem with multiple series scatter chart" that you've referred to? If you could also provide a testcase on http://apex.oracle.com, I'd be happy to take a look.

LUMIRA: Values disappear in column Chart

Hi Experts,
I have been working with Lumira, I am using column Chart, but when I put in the dimension X Axis the Dirección. I cannot see all the values (we have nine directions). These values disappear.
If I change the chart to position “Horizontal”, I can see more values but not all.
Could you help us with this issue? Someone has reported this problem?

Disappearing tolerance lines on xy chart

I don't understand why my limit lines are disappearing on my xy chart. They should follow the green signal which starts from 0,0 up to 12,12, then back down to -12,-12, then back to 0,0. This is hard to see because the data points overlap. As soon as the limit lines reverse, they disappear. I am using part of an example code for tolerance checking. Any constructive criticism is welcome as I am trying to learn many aspects of LV. Thanks!

Conditional Formatting for Charts in Drill down - Disappears

Hi All,
I have a "Vertical Bar Chart" that is plotted against Time on Y-axis and Unit on the X-axis; it has drill feature selected.
The chart also has conditional format specified and the color of the Vertical bar will change on a condition. Eg: The bar will show Red color if the Average Time taken is more than 60 minutes for an Appliance Unit. All this works fine.
Problem
As the chart has Drill feature enabled I can drill down on the chart say from Year - > Month -> Day. The issue is the conditional formatting disappears when you drill down the chart.
It looks strange as the main chart shows Red color for a Unit and when you drill down I don't see the conditional format applied any more.
Did anyone had similar problem, is there any work around here.

Hi,
Create a dummy column and in fx write this,
Case when Table."Average Time" >60 then 0 else 1 end
Add this also in th part of chart axis,
Go to conditional formatting set the formatting on the dummy column when 0 set to Red color.
Now you will have the conditional formatting even if you drill down.

Chart Disappears in Infoview

Hi All,
I am using Business Objects XI 3.1 FiPack 1.2.
I create a simple report in Webi and select some objects say run query.
I get correct results now I select any type of chart from Template tab and drag drop on the report.
The report disappears and no graph is seen but the strange thing is I am able to see the graph in View Structure of the report.

This is known issue in Xir3.1.
Cause for the issue is:
There is a missing/corrupted file in the Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 installation.
The missing file is: HS_PGSDK32.DLL
Resolution
This resolution applies for Business Objects Enterprise XI 3.1 installations on Windows:
In the Business Objects Enterprise Installation, go to the following folder:
< installation folder>\Business Objects Enterprise 12.0\win32_x86
Copy this file (HS_PGSDK32.DLL) from any working machine into win32_x86 folder in the problematic machine
(Or)
The HS_PGSDK32.DLL file can be found in the installation disk from: BusinessObjects_Enterprise_XI_3.1\RTM\win32_x86\packages\package\pgsdk4we.cab.
The HS_PGSDK32.DLL is also attached to this note.

HT4059 Categories tab under Top Charts in iBooks disappeared

The categories tab from Top Charts has disappeared and is stuck in one category. How can this be fixed?

Everything was maximized so that wasn't it. When I went into another project schedule it did not happen at all.
This was a dumb user error problem. :-( The horizontal scroll bar disappeared because all the columns fit on the screen so there was nothing to scroll. However I wanted to stretch out the most far right column (the Notes column) so that it would print
nicely on legal landscape paper and it wouldn't let me. Of course I fixed it by widening a different column which brought the horizontal scroll bar back.
What's weird is I never had this problem with MSP 2010 (probably just coincidentally) so of course I wanted to blame 2013 since I just got it. :-)

Chart axis titles disappearing with image capture

I have the following code which generates a png file from a
UIComponent (a panel with a chart in it). I have two different
methods which are called to generate the image. One is
automatically generated every few minutes, the other generates the
image when a user hits a button to "save" the image. Both generate
the chart fine, except that the automated version cuts the axis
titles off for some reason. What is going on?

Maybe you need to register for the event on the chart, not
the panel that
creates it.

Drawing On Chart But It's Disappearing

I created a column chart and added an annotation element to it:

I added a creation complete method to draw on the canvas. The following function is called on creationComplete.

This works fine when the chart first loads but if I update the chart series the line goes away. I have added a call to the 'drawSteps()' function in my method that updates the chart series as well but it didn't work. I don't understand why changing the chart series would cause this to stop displaying though, especially considering I call it again when the series is changed. Can anyone help?

Other things may be drawn into the graphics object, and those things might clear what is there first. It might be better to draw by overriding updateDisplayList()
