Disappearing email on iphone 5c

I have an SMTP email account. I sync it to my iPhone 5c, my Macbook Pro, and my iPad. Frequently mail that I have received on my iPhone will disappear. Mail that I have discarded is in the Trash folder, mail that I've sent is in the Sent folder, but received mail that I have in my Inbox simply disappears. I've fiddled with the settings and can't find any setting that would periodically dump email from the Inbox. Appreciate any ideas.

On several ocassions already I have opened an email with iPhone Mail and while reading the email accidentally disappears and cannot be found or recovered either in the iPhone or in the main Gmail database. I could not find the email by searching, Sender, Subject, All Mail, Deleted Messages, Spam or Trash Folders. The last email I was reading was important and it disappeared to oblivion while using the iPhone, a very, very frustrating problem.
In the past I had a similar situation two-three times but later I was able to find the email in Deleted Message folder or in the back of a string of email with a particular Sender. Now iPhone just disappears the message completely. Unreliable using iPhone unless one insures that your PC or Mac Book already has the email downloaded before attempting to use iPhone to read the email content. It does not happen all the time just periodically and also makes me wonder if the email was Recalled by Sender and whether an email once received, opened and read it can the deleted by Sender!?????

Sometimes when i reject a coming call then i try unlocking screen , swiping to the right is not working only draging notification center and contol center works but i cannot click on any toggle only click home button to close both, in order to fix the problem i have to reboot the iphone or answer a coming call .

Reset the phone. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until you see the Apple logo and then release. After the phone restarts, check your mail app.

Yahoo's servers are notoriously bad. Yahoo will have to fix the problem. It's not an Apple problem, or an AT&T problem (except for the fact that AT&T chose to contract their email service out to one of the worst providers on the planet).
Try downloading and using the Yahoo mail app from the app store.

How to delete massive amounts of email on iPhone

Hi. I have over 1500 emails in an earthlink.net email account on an iPhone running iOS 8.1 and want to mass-delete all but the last 3 months — say 120 emails. Is there a way to do this other than one-by-one manually?

I think my experience has been that, if I delete my road runner webmail emails, it has no effect on e mail already downloaded to my MPB or iPhone 5s.
I read a nifty-sounding 'trick' for deleting piles of email on an iPhone, but the tipper said not to try it on massive amounts or it would freeze up the iPhone. You check the top email (which activates the 'Move' button so it becomes clickable). Then holding the Move button, unclick the top email and wait, holding down 'Move' (while, seemingly, nothing's happening). Once all the email has been moved, you are presented with a screen with the option to move the moved mail to trash. My deleted emails on iPhone 4s are not being deleted from server

I'm facing a problem with my iPhone 4s when deleting emails. Unfortunately, they are not being deleted from the server. I tried setting the account in pop and imap with settings to delete from server and trash ticked. Still they keep on appearing in Outlook which is a double work to do. Please advise.

I'm no expert by far, but have had issues with this before.
IMAP should allow your iPhone to remove messages from the server.
But have you made sure both the iPhone and Outlook are connecting via IMAP?
If your iPhone does remove the messages from the server, but your computer is using POP, then the computer may download the email before it is removed form the server by your iPhone.
This was my issue, that my computer had already downloaded the message, and POP does not check later if it is deleted.
If you delete a message from Outlook does it disappear on the iPhone?
Alternativly you may need to check the email server settings.
Who is your email provider?
They may be able to check if IMAP allows you to remove emails.

How can I get access to edit and delete the Yahoo calendar from my iphone? I never schedule anything from the Yahoo webpage. All my appointments and reminders are scheduled from the iphone.

My Yahoo email account worked just fine on my iPhone 4S for the last 2 months. Then this morning I started receiving the apple.imap.mail,yahoo error. I tried all of the steps above in solving the yahoo email issue including numerous hard re-sets and deletions of my yahoo account settings without any success. So I gave up trying to use the default Yahoo setup option. I added my Yahoo account back as an "other" type email account and then had the option to choose to set it up as a "POP" account instead of an IMAP type. I then just used the server settings recommended from Yahoo Help for a Yahoo Plus Email POP (or just google yahoo plus email pop settings). This works and I am back in business.
I'm not sure if this will work for yahoo mail classic accounts.
Frustrating that this issue seems to have been going on for quite awhile and Apple still as not made any acknowledgement of this issue or proposed a fix for those of us that can not resolve the issue with a reset.

Try going into Notes, then tap Accounts at the top left, and then tap All Notes. You can also try going into all of your email account settings and make sure Notes are switched on for all (green side showing).

.mac account disappeared from my iPhone

Two odd things happened this past week - maybe at the same time, although I can't be sure.
1) My .mac account disappeared from my iPhone. My POP3 account remains.
2) On my laptop, in Apple Mail, three new mailboxes for the .mac account suddenly appeared under "On My Mac": Deleted, Junk and Sent. They never used to be under "On My Mac", so I'm wondering if this is somehow related to the .mac account disappearing from my iPhone.
I still get mail to the .mac account on my laptop, and it still shows up online when I go to the .mac website.
Should I just go ahead and try to add the .mac account back onto my iPhone or is this likely something more complicated?

Hello, did you resolve this? It's happening to my .Mac/ iPhone now. I've only recently set up my .mac account, and it's now disappeared off the iPhone twice in the 2 days I've had the email account.

Yahoo mail has suddenly disappeared from my iPhone 5 inbox

I've had Yahoo email on my AT&t iPhone 5 for a year. Yesterday, with no action on my part, and no changes to the settings on my iPhone, all my Yahoo emails disappeared from my iPhone inbox, and no new emails sent to my Yahoo email address are appearing there. The Gmail inbox on my phone is fine. I can access my Yahoo mail on a browser, but not on in my iPhone inbox. I have reset network settings, deleted my Yahoo mail account, re-booted the iPhone, and re-added the Yahoo account. Nothing helps. I have no idea if the problem resides with Apple, Yahoo, or AT&T. Has anyone had the same problem? What can I do?

When setting iCloud my contacts disappeared from my iPhone

I sync my iphone 5 with outlook as well as my ipad mini.
I created an icloud account to be able to use the find my iphone app.
It asked me what to do with my contacts and I chose merge.
My contacts have disappeared from my iphone an there are no contacts in icloud.
My ipad mini has the data since I have not configured icloud in the ipad.
What do you suggest to get the contacts back to my iphone?
And what do I need to do to configure icloud on the ipad without deleting the contacts

Thank you for your suggestion. I tried that and when I slid the bar to off , I was asked what I wanted to do with the icloud synched contacts, leave on the iPad or delete or cancel. I selected leave on the iPad and then the synch symbol came on screen, it stayed that way for over 30 minutes, in that state. I then rebooted the iPad and it came back , I went to the screen and the setting for iCloud contact was back to on. The contacts were still not there. My mail was still not working. I turned mail off and on , I received some email but not all as I compared to my iPhone and I tried to send an email it still did not send. I went back to the settings iCloud and turned contacts off again, I answered leav on iPad again and this time left it like that for an hour and had the same results.

Suggestions for Coordinating email on iphone 4 & computer

I'm looking for solutions to best coordinate emails between my PC & my iphone 4. Currently using Outlook 2010 & IMAP, but spam filter won't work. Previously used POP3 but as soon as an email was downloaded to computer the email disappeared from my iphone. Thanks.

IMAP is your best bet. As you observe, though, there is no spam filter on the iPhone. If the computer is running and filters spam to a folder, it should be reflected on the phone relatively quickly.
Otherwise, you'll need to use server side spam filters. G-Mail does a pretty good job for me and it can be accessed as an Exchange account on the iPhone allowing for true push, not to mention sync of contacts and calendars over the air.

Go to the Search screen an enter "camera". If the app appears then you have simply misplaced the icon. Look at all of your folders and pages of your Home screen, or, as a last resort, go to Settings/General/Reset - Reset home screen layout.
If the app does not appear that function has been blocked. Go to Settings/General/Restrictions. If it is enabled you will have to enter your Restrictions passcode.
If it is not blocked in Restrictions and you have a Corporate MS Exchange email account on your phone your IT department may have blocked the camera. If this is the case there is nothing you can do about it other than deleting the Exchange account and the associated security profile (in Settings).

Lost email on iphone ; can't receive

Hi,
last week my email disappeared off my iphone 3gs running 4.2.1 (8C148a). New email won't download. Since then I've tried a hard reboot, deleted the account, then set it up new. I can send emails but can't receive; the sent email also doesn't show up in my sent folder. It will say connecting, downloading, and updated, but nada. This is work email; they use 2007 Microsoft Exchange, and Activesync. First time I've had a problem. My non-mac IT guys say nothing has changed on their end. Email still exists, no problems, on my computer. Last, I tried creating my Gmail account on the phone, and it just says can't receive email because I have a bad i.d, which is not the case.
