Disappearing favicons from bookmarks

Posting this issue on behalf of my father. He has a bunch of commonly visited sites bookmarked on his iPad "desktop", and until recentlh, the icons for said bookmarks were the favicons from the bookmarked sites. Now they have all been replaced by a generic geometric grey/white icon.
Is there any way to fix this without recreating every bookmark? He's not sure exactly when it started, but if I had to guess, it probably happened when he upgraded to ios8

I Think that you guessed correctly because the same thing happened to me. I cleared Safari, restarted the iPad, reset the iPad and none of that worked. For some of the websites, I just started opening the websites that had the generic looking icons and when I closed Safari, the icons returned to what they should have looked like. That didn't work for all of them so I created some of them again and deleted the funky looking icons.
I Don't know if there is a simple fix, but if there was, I didn't find it.

Hi KDSXflat, the userChrome-example.css file is not necessary. The correct spelling of the file you want to create or edit is userChrome.css. The location for the file can be discovered as follows:
(WIN) Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Show Folder" button<br>
(MAC) Help > Troubleshooting Information > "Open in Finder" button
Then look for a chrome folder. If there is no chrome folder, create a folder named chrome and open it. This is the proper location for your userChrome.css file. More info: [http://kb.mozillazine.org/UserChrome.css].
Due to changes in the design of the Bookmarks Toolbar, please use the updated style rules instead of the rules for Firefox 3.6. Here are some examples:

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
If you wish, you may be able to salvage the malfunctioning extension by uninstalling and reinstalling it. That will revert its settings to the defaults.
If extensions aren't causing the problem, see below.

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

I am launching an Infoview in a new web browser from the netWeaver portal through a link.
The favicon for potal is changed on the portal server.
How I can change the InfoView logo[Favicon] from the browsers address bar?
If anybody knows where that image is located on the BOE server where I can replace the icon with my company icon?

Hi,
the icon has the name favicon.ico and can be found in the root folder of the Web AS /Portal.
Favicons are images of the size 16x16 or 32x32 pixel in the Icon format (image/x-icon) and files have an .ico extension.
You can either change the standard sap favicon directly on the WebAs server wich needs might be done after each support package.

Hi, I'm trying to remove a chat from bookmarks, but I can't because the button is not clickable.
It's a group chat and I have been removed from it so I guess this is why the button is no more active. Is there a way to do it anyway?

After some regular updates I can open a site from bookmarks only by right-clicking on it and "open in a new tab". Have this problem also on my PC and a notebook. (Win 7 & Win 8). Didn't add any new add-ons lately, seems like they all work well.
My Mozilla Firefox is ver 31.0

When Safari launches, tap in the address field (the one on the left) and type "www.google.com" then hit the "Go" button.
After the page finishes loading, hit the "Action" button (the middle button on the bottom button bar that looks like an arrow coming out of a rectangle) and select "Add to Bookmarks" to add the Google page to your bookmarks.
After that, you can hit the Bookmarks button (the button that looks like an open book in the bottom button bar) to access the Google bookmark you just created.

if it's missing from three devices, I imagine that you may need to connect to it via ethernet cable & see if the wireless id is set to be hidden, as well as checking the setup pages to see if wireless is actually operating correctly.
Something like iStumbler or WiFi Scanner should help you determine that too.
