Disappearing Items
After browsing some photography in a 360 panorama website, my google 'SEARCH BOX' in the address bar disappeared and is now all inclusive. When researching reasons I came upon the ominbar extension and the how to get rid of it in Application support which I found but have yet to find SIMBL or omnibar...BUT, in looking, I also discovered in the Safari dropdown box that 'EMPTY CACHE' and 'BLOCK POP-UPS' is also gone!!! Lord knows what else. Anyone have any ideas how to get this stuff back and what could have possibly happened :/ Thank you!!!!!!!
Me again...I DID go to Customize Toolbars under View and both (default also) say 'search google or enter an address' with reader on the end.

Disappearing items with new update
i updated to the most recent version of muse and was asked by a client to make a slight change to their site. i checked the new version at the business catlayst address and was glad i did, as items have completely disappeared from the new version.
thankfully the old version is still live so you can compare.

you can see when you click the links at the top of the page that the screen will scroll horizontally. on the old version this leads to a black content box. the new version, however, leads to nothing at all. give it a moment, and the links also stop sending instructions to scroll altogether, and the only way to move around the (empty) site is to scroll manually.
the boxes have not moved in the site file. they are still exactly where they were but the behaviour has completely changed and they do not render in the browser (i have looked for them everywhere!).
i tried rebuilding the entire site in a fresh file and found exactly the same problem.
what is going on please, and how can i fix it?You seem to have some invalid HTML in your mixcloud embed code. You have a div that isn't closed. Edit that HTML and add in that closing div, and you should see improvement. If not, let me know.

Hi,
I've previously had problems with tracks randomly disappearing from the browse menu of my iPod. The items would still be in my itunes as well as taking up space on the iPod, but just would not show up on the iPod menus, such as "songs", "artists", etc. Awhile ago, I noticed that if I filled out the "Album" field of the track (even if I just put "unknown"), the tracks would not disappear. Any track left blank was susceptible to vanish. I thought that my cleverness had solved the issue, until recently.
Now, similar things are happening to my videos. Both videos marked as "TV shows" and "Music Videos" are now disappearing from their menus. If I go to Itunes and right click and "mark them as new", and then re-sync, they once again come up. However, that's a tedious and repetitive solution for an issue which has to have a better fix. If you could let me know, that would be great.
Finally, I've only started uploading Music Videos to my iPod. I've noticed that you can play the MUSIC only, off the music videos, from the music menu. My question is: Do the music videos come up if I shuffle songs? Is there a point for me to have both a music track AND its music video, if I use the shuffle songs feature frequently and want to conserve space?
Thanks in advance for all the help!Regarding the tv shows and videos that you have to mark as new...with your iPod connected to iTunes and selected in DEVICES, click the tabs for TV Shows and/or Videos and check your syncing prefs. You may be set to only sync new episodes. Set it to sync all and this should fix the problem.
Regarding the music videos in your music files, etc. You don't have a music file and a video file. It's the same file showing up in two different menus. And, yes, the "video" will play with your music when you Shuffle, but you can do Get Info on the file in iTunes and set it to Skip When Shuffling. Be aware, though, that if you have the video in a playlist and shuffle the playlist (with ithe file set to skip), it won't shuffle then either. -
Disappearing Items on Finder Bar
Folks,
I don't know what I may have done, but the items on my finder bar have all disappeared, including the clock app, the wireless indicator, the Spotlight icon keeps flashing and then disappearing... The only items displayed are the menu names (Finder, File, Edit, etc) and the SMS Fan Control app. Yes, I am referring to the menu up on top of the desktop. Is there a file I should delete to reset the items on the Finder bar?
Any help would be much, much appreciated. Oh, and by the way, it works fine on other accounts, except mine (Admin). Thanks all.The always useful and helpful Apple Forum Folks. Thank you so much! That solved my problem. Truly appreciated. Now I can sleep in peace

Little Big Planet 3 disappearing items
All the items ive collected from the Ziggurat have disappeared and are not re-appearing for me to collect. Also some items from levels have disappeared after being collected and wont re-appear either. This is still after updates. 1.09 and 1.10
I'm having the same problem. In the in-game store, it's showing that I need to pay for it again, but on the store from the PS4's main menu, and the store on my PC (see pic) there is a FREE version being shown alongside the paid one. Every time I try to download it, I get an error. This is extremely frustrating, and there is no way I'm paying for the same content twice.

Disappearing items in jre1.5/1.6 but not 1.4
I have a program that has a bunch of boxes with info and are colored differently depending on that info. Everything runs fine with jre1.4 but as soon as I up it to use jre1.5/1.6, whenever I click on a box it disappears. It shouldn't do anything, there is no click event. I can refresh the screen and the icons come back. Unfortunately the hard part is that most of the code is from a 3rd party so its proprietary and I don't have access to it. I'm wondering if anyone else has had any issues like this after upgrading 1.4 to 1.5 or 1.6.

Windows 8 Start Menu Disappeared Items
When I logged in my windows 8 I was surprised when I found that most of the tiles that were in my start menu disappeared even the desktop tile and the store tile.
I found an article that suggests downloading the apps shortcuts and pasting them in this folder
%ProgramData%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs
but when I opened this folder I was surprised again to find all my tiles shortcuts there
Nothing is missing at all even the desktop shortcut and store shortcut are there
So, what is wrong?
Why don't these apps show up in the start menu?
I don't remember doing any thing the last time I used my laptop except uninstalling and reinstalling Visual Basic 6Version 8.1 windows start menu back, You also can use third party software is very simple, allows you to select various types of Start Menu Display

ICal Update Fiasco: Publishing to web site
This latest update seems to be a total disaster!
First, the disappearing items from all calendars. After syncing them back from MobileMe, all my calendars now show up under a MobileMe directory instead of On My Mac. What about if I didn't have a MobileMe account? What if I cancelled my MobileMe account? Would I lose everything forever?
Now, the calendars that I have published before inside iframes at my web site will not update.
I have several, but previously I just had to specify "http://ical.me.com/cwhaley/Toronto_Live Music" as the SRC in my iframe and the latest version of the calendar appeared there. Now, no events have been updated since the latest update fiasco. Can this be fixed?
The previous Publish routine was so simple. Now it's a mess.
Help!It's very frustrating! At least you seem to still have your On My Mac Calendars. Mine disappeared and I don't know how to get back to having my events on my computer. I have some duplicate calendars (for no reason) but they're all on MobileMe. I don't want to be a slave to that service.
Unfortunately, Apple employees don't contribute to these forums. It's all volunteers... folks who apparently know a little more than us.
Generally, I've been happy with the help I've been getting through Apple Discussions, but no one seems to understand what's going on with these latest iCal problems.
I'm used to help within a couple days. These iCal problems go back to mid-December.
I guess we'll just have to be patient, but I really depend on iCal to be stable and reliable.. both on my desktop and my various published calendars. -
Forms 5 Runtime crashes when using wheel mouse

We get Invalid Page Faults when using a wheel mouse in Forms
(Forms 5.0.6.8.0). When scrolling up to the first record the
message 'At first record' occurs. Then we get a ORA-00001 error
(!?), followed by the invalid page fault and forms runtime
crashes. Other actions (scrolling down, scrolling up, but not to
first record) work fine. I suppose there exist a patch to solve
this problem, but I wasn't able to find it. Could someone please
help me ?

KoenCrashing is normal Forms 5 behavior. Why should a wheel mouse
make it better? :-)
If you use Patch 10 (get it on metalink) for D2K Forms 5 on
Windows (and a good mouse driver), this problem is almost gone.
But be warned:
Patch 10 introduces other more serious bugs (serious printing
problems with HP printer, and such funny things as mysterious
disappearing items items in large forms ... we stopped the
rollout of Patch 19 half the way) , and these bugs
will never be fixed 'cause D2K R2.1 is desupported since
december 1999.
So choose your fate.

Menu tabs disappear completely after login and appears if only i press on item node at hire level
I'm using a Menu Model to Create a Page Hierarchy in my adf application on Jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0
it is in three levels level 1 have 2 item nods (home - Help) displayed as buttons
level 2 contains 5 item nods about the managements displayed as tabs
level 3 is about reports displayed as list
the point I have apply security in the application using Adf security wizard and i assign roles and users and grants
all works fine but level 2 tabs disappear completely after login and appears if only i press on Home item node at run time
I create 2 users (admin) has all roles and can view all tabs in level 2 of my navigation and another user (emp) which can view one Tab page in level 2
Point 1 --the item nod are rendered according the #{securityContext.regionViewable['oracle.view.pageDefs.RentManagPageDef']} (EL ) expression language
and other item nod render property are set as the same but in the page name definition
it works fine
_ Point 2 in my page template I set #{menuInfo.rendered} for renderd property of the command navigation item
it works fine
- point 3 I add a go link in my template to explicit perform log in log out from the app and redirect the user to the required page

the problem is in the level 2 navigation tabs which is diaper after explicit log in the app directs the user to the correct page successfully

in another words i log in as user (admin) i get directed to the successful log in page in the link go but level 2 tabs are invisible or not rendered at all I click on Home button in level1 navigation the tabs
become rendered or viewable and i navigate normally
I log out as admin the level 2 tabs becomes invisible again
then I log in as (emp) i get directed to the successful log in page and level 2 tabs are still invisible or not rendered
I click on Home button in level1 navigation the only one tab the user emp authorized to it gets rendered (appears)
and its semi correct behavior because this is what I want him to see only

So I doubt maybe problem in the El or the way I use to control rendering item node
or there additional step to stop all the tabs disappear after login
I hope please some one Help or tell me what i have to read about in the developer guide or interface developer guide or article on the web

One test to run is to print the outcome of the security evaluation (e.g. output text) to see what it returns.

Contacts and calendar items disappear when exchange server is off
Hi All
I've been having this problem for a few weeks now and it's most frustrating. My iphone is setup to sync over the air to our corporate exchange server. It seems that when the server is down for repair/patching ALL my contacts and calendar items disappear from my iphone. This doesn't seem to happen if the phone is out of signal?
I know that I can sync directly with Outlook, however this would then mean that the phone is only updated when synced with my laptop at work. If I sync both over the air AND with Outlook, I get duplicates of everything in my calendar.
I'm not restoring my iphone to factory defaults to get rid of the duplicates and go back to over the air sync only.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get calendar and contacts to work "offline" when the exchange server is down?
Main PC is running Windows 7 and exchange is 2007. This problem is only recent, I think in the last month of two. Nothing has changed other than the last few firmware updates from Apple.hi, cheers for the info. That would make sense, however how come when I'm out of signal and not connected to wifi, the data doesn't also disappear as that too would render the server "unavailable".
Is there a way to make the iphone keep a copy of the data much the same as "offline mode" in Outlook where you can still browse your email, calendar and contacts when the server is offline, and it picks up where it left off when the server is available again?
I appreciate this may not be a "problem" as such, but is frustrating as all my contacts and calendar live in Outlook and I can't function without them

ICal Tasks/To Do Items Keep Disappearing, plus search function doesn't work
Ever since I upgraded my Mobile Me calendars about two or three weeks ago, which as I understand makes my calendars now LIVE on the Mobile Me cloud instead of directly on my computers, I have had nothing but trouble with iCal. I use Bento with iCal for my project management system — I use the iCal Tasks for my basic information, and I added extra fields in Bento for other details I like to track. Anyway, the upgrade completely unhinged where those two came together so that the basic information that Bento was getting from iCal no longer matched with the extra details.
But that's no longer my problem. I fixed that easily by completely changing the way I track things now — I did away with the extra fields and decided to have Bento work directly and only with the information in my iCal app.
Still, another problem came up, the one I need an answer to. New tasks I entered through Bento, wouldn't KEEP on iCal. They'd show up momentarily, but a day or two later, they would be gone.
I thought I fixed it a few days ago when I discovered that Time Zone Support wasn't checked on iCal. I made sure it was checked on all my computers AND on Mobile Me because I suspected that Tasks were disappearing every time my computers synced with Mobile Me. It seemed to work fine after making sure everything supported time zones. I even synced a few times, just to test it, checked all calendars at all places, and whatever Tasks or To Do Items I added from within Bento appeared to sync fine, appear at all the proper places, at all instances of the calendars, AND stay put.
BUT I just discovered tonight, that the new Tasks I entered in the last week for one of my calendars have ONCE AGAIN disappeared. For some reason, though, the new tasks I entered for another one of my calendars managed to stay put. I have no idea why one calendar was affected and another wasn't.
The point is, I can't for the life of me figure out why my newly entered Tasks keep disappearing. Is it an iCal thing? Is it Mobile Me? Is it because I am entering the tasks/to do items from within Bento? What?
And the icing on the cake? The search function on the iCal app on one of my computers no longer works. I will search for a task/to do item that I KNOW is there and can actually see on the side bar, but it will not pop up in the search results. I searched online about how to fix that, but none of the fixes work — many of them, I believe, are outdated and so can't work in my case.

glass (Atleast in windows) is just for decor showing
you its a search field, its not an actual button like
it would be in most Microsoft/Windows apps

I purchased several older James Bond movies 2 years ago that have all disappeared from my iTunes and are no longer available. Will I be refunded for these items?
No you won't be refunded, it's your responsibility to keep copies of your purchases. Have you not got copies of them on backups ?

I just got a new eMac G4. I'm running on the Tiger system. Every time I log out of my system and log back in, all my desktop files/items are gone. So every morning, I run the Disk Utility, "Disk Repair Permissions" and that fixes it and brings back all my files, until the next morning (after I've been logged out for the night). I also have been absolutely unable to save anything or download anything to my desktop. It would seem to me that running the disk repair should fix it once and for all...I shouldn't have to keep doing it?
Also, I have to log out every night b/c I work in a small office in which we have many different people coming through the office who we don't know in the evening for classes. I can't turn off my computer in the evening b/c that is when my computer is backed up on the network.
Any suggestions?

Does the disappearing desktop happen if you log out during the day, or only after the network backup occurs? Do you know what program is used to perform the backup (i.e., Retrospect, Backup)?
While not a solution, there's a possible workaround: in System Preferences/ Security, check the box for "Require password to wake tis computer from sleep or password" and don't log out at the end of the workday. If you put the computer to sleep at the end of the day, you'll need to set System Preferences/ Energy Saver> Options to check "wake for Ethernet network administrator access". Sleep in OS X versions earlier than Tiger would interfere with the performance of the cron maintenance tasks, so it'd be better to avoid putting the computer to sleep and instead set the screen saver (via System Preferences/ Dashboard & Exposé) to have a hot / activate corner and use that when leaving, with Energy Saver set for system sleep = Never, unchecked put hard drives to sleep, and display sleep set to something like 15 to 30 minutes. The maintenance tasks are handled differently under Tiger, through, so it's a matter of preference whether you use sleep or screen saver to lock the computer when you leave. -
My items will not post to my iphone and other events have disappeared What is going on?
Check icloud.com to see if your calendar events are still there. If they are, add any missing ones from your phone, then go to Settings>iCloud, turn Calendars off, choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (they will still be in iCloud), then turn Calendars back on. Then try adding a new event on your phone and see if it appears on icloud.com now.
