Disappearing Podcast Favorites

I lost all of my Podcast favorites recently which was a pain, as you can imagine. Has anyone else had this happen? Is there a way of backing it up so it doesn't happen again? This list is different to my iTunes list of podcasts, the two don't seem related in any way.

It WAS working fine on my system too, until recently.
I have rebooted / reset the Apple TV and rebooted router, all to no effect.

  • Podcast Favorites Disappearing and Reappering on Apple TV

About 6 weeks ago all my Podcast Favorites no longer showed up. After this weeks (9/25) Apple TV update they appeared again. The new ones I entered over the last few weeks are also listed.
Why did I lose the favorites originally, and what can I do to prevent the Apple TV podcast favorites from disapperaing in tthe future?

Cool!  Fixed my playlist issue too!

  • I upgraded to Yosemite OSX 10.10.1 and most of the the favicons disappeared in favorites folders.

I upgraded to Yosemite OSX 10.10.1 and most of the the favicons disappeared in favorites folders. So much slower to find folders.

Returning to Mail Preferences - Junk Mail, in the section
    When junk mail arrives:
select mark as junk mail but leave it in my inbox
This should then give you the opportunity to mark it as Not Junk
and after several days it may improve.
I say 'may improve', based on my experience of when I upgraded to 10.5 a few years ago.  It took a while to learn what I kept insisting was not junk. It is a slow learner but it got there.
P.S. When you are satisfied it is identifying junk reasonably accurately, you can change the Preferences setting back to  'Move it to the Junk mail box'

  • How to make podcasts favorites?

can somebody tell me how to add podcast to favorites so i can brows to them via my ATV
i can't find a button to do this in the store?

First, you don't select podcast favorites from the iTunes store. You must get an tv. You select your podcast favorites (or create favorites) from the tv by selecting "add to favorites". If you have an Apple tv and if you've looked at podcasts from that device, you surely have seen the add to favorites menu selector. Sheesh!

  • Podcast favorites hangs

My podcast favorites now just hangs interminally.
Podcasts are available thru the providers list.

  • Podcast Favorite's List not removing podcasts

I have having some problems with my podcast favorites list. I cannot seem to be able to remove podcast from the list. When I click on "Remove from list" the option changes back to "Add to favorites", but when I go to the favorite's list all of those podcasts still show up.

I am experiencing the same issue. The latest update 2.3.1 did not fix it either. If I choose "Add to Favorites" it will simply add another instance of that podcast to my Favorites list, if I then choose "Remove from Favorites" it will only remove the new instance that was added, not the existing one that had been there all along.
    Cheers,
    Louis

  • Desktop link keeps disappearing from Favorites pane

On my 10.9.4 MacBook Air, all of a sudden I have the following weird problem. The "Desktop" link is missing from the left panel of Favorites on any Finder window. I drag it there, and next window I open - it's gone again! What is going on?!?

I've heard of icons disappearing in OS 6.  While I don't have a solution, I do have a work-around if nothing else is suggested by others.
I've moved my favorite icons to the top of the All tab on my homescreen.  This way, I still have my favorites within easy reach and if I need to access something else other than those, it's right below them on the same screen.
Not terribly technical, I know, but it works for me.
(By the way, to move an icon on your homescreen, highlight it with the trackpad, press the menu key to the left of the trackpad and select Move.  Then move it to your desired position on the homescreen and click the trackpad.)
    - If my response has helped you, please click "Options" beside my post and mark it as solved. Clicking the "thumbs up" icon near the bottom of my response would also be appreciated.

  • Folder from Network drive keeps disappearing in favorites sidebar

I have a couple of folders from our network drive that I have dragged into my favorites sidebar. However, every now and then they randomly disappear and I have to re create the shortcut in the sidebar again. Is this just a bug in the system? Does anyone have a similar problem and/or solution? Thanks!

I have this problem with some of my Mac's in our company.  We are on OS X 10.9.4 and it seams to happen mostly with AFP shares to a Mac Server.  But I have also seen it with SMB shares on Windows servers.

  • Names of Contacts Disappeared from Favorites and Recents

Without changing any settings, the names of contacts in my Favorites and Recents have disappeared.
The phone numbers for them are there, but the names are hidden.
Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks,
    JS

This just happened to me. See the thread named "Contact on Iphone no longer has phone numbers" (here: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1613112&tstart=0).
If you browse your contacts, you'll see that they have no phone numbers on them. Something is going squirrelly with the push sync.
The solution in that thread worked for me: On your Mac, goto System Preference -> MobileMe. Goto the Sync tab, and click advanced. Reset Sync Data, making sure you sync all data on MobileMe with info from this computer. That cleared it up for me. Hope it works for you too!

  • Podcast favorites no longer work

My atv2 won't play podcasts from favorites anymore. Worked great for a while and then it shows connecting to iTunes and just keeps spinning. Everything else works fine. I can get podcasts to work by searching for them manually but after saving them a favorites and trying to play them from the favorites menu it fails

I have the same problem... It seems the favorite podcast list will never load up anymore.  It happened for me after applying the 4.2.2 update.  More frustration.  I'm trying to figure out how to clean off the favorites list and try something else, but it looks like the only way is to perform a factory restore to wipe everything out.
Now that I think about it, I had other updating problems with it as well with the last update and ended up having to restore/reset several times.  Maybe updating is not a good thing to do?

  • Podcast favorites screen

When using my second gen Apple TV, calling up the Favorites screen listed under Podcasts worked well for a while,  but then took longer and longer to display my Favorites. Resetting the Apple TV worked at first, but now the Apple TV refuses to show the favorites even after minutes of waiting. How do I fix this once and for all?

I stand corrected, iTunes 11.3 is available. (There's a surprise!)
Given how bad the iTunes 11.2 update was, I will not be updating my iTunes until I understand what the issues are going to be. So currently, I have not yet experienced the Podcast splash screen, so don't know what the problem is. However, I've no doubt someone will post here shortly, to let you know how to get past it.
Sorry I can't be more help at this time. It does sound like the splash screen that appeared in iTunes 11.2 though, so surely they haven't messed this up as well?

  • Managing Apple TV Podcast Favorites

It was easy to set up which podcasts I wanted in my favorites list, but I can't figure out how to unmark individual episodes of a podcast that I don't want to watch so it doesn't keep the blue dot next to those episodes and count them in the number of unwatched episodes in that particular podcast.
    Thoughts?

Thanks for the update. I can't test it out again now because my fiancee is watching wedding shows on our TV (another story for another forum, I suppose), but I'll try again doing that specific thing and also try again using my white remote if that doesn't work.
Just to make sure, I am supposed to:
    1) Choose a specific podcast and go to it's list of episodes (the one that gives you the option to add to/remove from favorites at the very top and lists all the episodes below that)
    2) Highlight the episode I want to mark/unmark
    3) Press down on the enter button and hold it pressed it
    4) A menu of options will come up that I can choose from
Let me know if that there is anything wrong with that. I'll let you know if I can get it to work when the wedding shows are over.
    Thanks for all your help.

  • Organizing podcast Favorites - How to?

We'd like to be able to sort/organize our podcasts as listed in the Apple TV 2 Favorites heading. Currently the podcasts appear in random order. Has anyone had success with this?

Ah,thanks for a great solution. Just a note - apparently this does work with the basic Apple Remote, but not with the REMOTE App for iOS devices. I have gotten the podcasts to wiggle by holding down the Options button in the lower left corner of the Remote "control" window, but haven't been able to get the icons to move using the Remote app.
Again thanks so much, our podcasts are now orgaized!

  • Audio Podcast favorites

    Hi,
It's seem's incredible but i can put in favorites the audio podcast on itunes, how can I do ?
It is really a big mess this soft !

It WAS working fine on my system too, until recently.
I have rebooted / reset the Apple TV and rebooted router, all to no effect.

  • Podcast Favorites and 2.3 Update

I had several podcasts as favorites before the 2.3 update. Now I cannot remove them. The old favorites are there, but not marked as favorites. If I mark them as favorites, then they are duplicated. Unmark them and the duplicate goes away.
In other words, any podcast that was marked as a favorite before the 2.3 update is now just "stuck" there.
Any one else see this? Any solution?

i had an issue with a podcast not being removed in v2.2 so i don't think it is v2.3 that has introduced that issue.
i think it is more to do with the podcast itself though, as i noticed a few of mine had changed the artwork associated to it, and i had to remove and re-add it for it to correct itself.
i think some podcast owners are changing things in the background in their xml files and it is confusing the appletv.
