Disappearing "saved photos" album

I recently restored my iPod Touch due to a lot of problems, but after restoring, I noticed that the "saved photos" album in the photos app had disappeared. (I backed up from a file that did contain saved photos)
Taking screenshots, saving photos off Safari, and rebooting all have no effect. Every time I return to the app, the saved photos album will still be gone.
Has this happened to anyone else before? If so, is there a way to fix this without a complete restore?
Note: I have less than 200 photos in total of all the other albums, so it can't be the 10000-photo bug.

i have exactly the same problem. the "saved photos" folder in the photos app has been being away since i updated to 3.1.3.
is there a working solution for this?

  • Missing "Saved Photos" album

So I'm using a wifi only model that I bought off a friend (who stepped up to the 3g version). He had a bunch of stuff on his so the first thing I did was do a restore in iTunes. It all went fine except that when saving photos from safari and dropbox, nothing would ever show up in the photos app (it just said I could add photos in itunes). A little googling around shows that there should be a Saved Photos album where these are added, but I don't have one.
I hooked it up to my mac and tried syncing a few photos from iPhoto. Those shows up properly but I still have no Saved Photos and no way to save any photos anywhere.
tl;dr: Saving photos sends them into oblivion, there is no Saved Photos album

    Try this:
    • Hard reset - hold the sleep/wake button and the home button simultaneously for about 6 seconds, until the iPad tunes off. Then turn it on again.
    • Go to "Settings - General - Reset" and choose "Reset All Settings"
    • If it does not help, restore the firmware with iTunes - IMPORTANT, don't let iTunes use one of your backups… set it up as a new device.

  • PC Mac: How to move "saved photos" album?

I am moving my iTunes library from my PC onto my MBP and I need help on moving my ENTIRE iPod touch's content off its iTunes onto my Mac. I have done the songs/apps/podcasts via the "Share" option.
Anyways, I want to sync my iPod Touch w/ my MBP's iTunes asap and just need help so the pictures (from the "saved photos" section transfer over as is; I have over 6200 of them, ahem.
Unless, of course, the "saved photos" album stays the same even if you switch to another iTunes or would it get erased when synced to a new library? I HATE ITUNES FOR THIS VERY REASON. They need to come up w/ a more efficient to transfer iTunes-to-iTunes, the hassle is way too much.
I would love if anyone has better ideas on how to switch iPod touch content over from a PC iTunes to a Mac iTunes.

To move iTunes from Windows to Mac see here

Photos on your Touch don't sync with iTunes but with photo programs such as iphoto or Photoshop elements. If you've never done this then photos saved on your iPod are only on your iPod. iTunes will backup your iPod, including your photos, when you sync with iTunes but you won't be able to browse them on your computer this way.
If you've moved over your entire iTunes library as mentioned above then you will be able to continue syncing and backing up your iPod with it as normal.

  • Problem in my Saved Photos Album

I recently updated my iPod with the latest software in Apple. But when I checked my Photos icon, my Saved Photos album is not visible. I tried to scroll it down and I saw the album placed on the very top, hidden behind the "Album".. What am I supposed to do fix this?

  • Deleting out of Saved Photos album

The Touch's Saved Photos album has some photos and screen shots that I would like to delete. The screen shots will not open Is there a way to delete them? thanks

Yeah, it's not going to show up under C. So, after you've plugged in your iPod, and look at your "Computer" (used to be "My Computer") listings, you don't have anything under Portable Devices? Actually, I guess I don't know what view you're using to look at your drives. I have mine set to... well, I have my XP machine here at work. But it's sorting by Type and showing in Groups - with Details... should be something along those lines. If you can set your Computer page up to use those things, then Portable Devices should be the last group, I believe.
Sorry this doesn't seem to be working for you!

  • Photos in Saved Photos folder wont go away

How can I clear out the saved photos album in Photos?
I was trying to save an image from my email to use a wallpaper but for some reason it did not properly download and i attempted again and i noticed there are 3 icons with a camera in them and when it ried to import with iphoto it told me they were errors and could not import them.
do i really have to delete my entire iPad just to erase these corrupt image files?
I just updated to 4.2 this morning with a clean install, not an update (So i resynced all my content).
    thanks

Give this a shot, if your on Mac OS use spotlight and type in Image Capture, with your iPad plugged in, select the iPad from the list on the left, it should pull up your saved photos album, it will also display the corrupted images that are shown on your iPad...select them, and at the bottom click the delete icon and the should immediately disappear from your iPad.

  • How do I import photos from my ipad that are not in the saved photos folder

I do have a saved photos album and was able to import those. However, I have several other folders and I can't figure out how to get the photos from my iPad to my new iMac. Or for that matter, into the saved photos folder. This is my first experience with iPhoto. Any help? Thanks!

If you want to remove all of your synced photos .....
Connect your iPad to your computer and launch iTunes.
Select your iPad under the devices tab in the upper right or in the left sidebar, if you have the sidebar enabled.
Click on Photos at the top of the iTunes window on the right.
Uncheck the "Sync Photos From" heading
Click on Apply in the lower right corner of iTunes.
IF that doesn't work, create an empty folder on your desktop and call it "Empty Folder". Select that folder in the "Sync Photos From" heading in the photos tab of iTunes and then click on Apply. That will also remove all synced photos.

  • IPad saved photos do not appear in iPhoto*

I have about 20 photos (screenshots) saved in my iPad photo album but when I open image capture or iPhoto they both say that there are no photos available for import. How do I transfer these images over? I also have photo sync on in my iPad settings but its not syncing to my desktop.
I am using a first generation iPad.

They were automatically saved to my 'Saved Photos' album. Id really love to not have to email myself every pic one by one. Seems like it should be easy to do??
It is very easy to do when it works - I have done it quite a few times.
and @Demo, I do have iPad clicked in both iPhoto and Image Capture. Both say I have no photos.
The usual route that I take when these things happen is to quit both apps on the Mac, reboot the Mac, restart the iPad and then try again.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
See if that helps at all.
If you do have to email the photos - you can do it in 4 emails - but I realize that you want to resolve this issue and I don't blame you!

  • Making new photo albums and slide shows

Is there a way to make new photo albums or slides shows on the iPad? I wish to organize photos and create slide shows while I am on the road, away from my sync computer.

The only way you could do this would be to first delete all photos in your Saved Photos album and then add the ones you want to use in your slide show one at a time (each photo you add is placed after the one previously added). Currently, by using the iPad alone with no third party apps, the only way to add photos to the Saved Photos album is either from Safari (touch and hold an image until the "Save image" dialogue comes up) or from email. On the iPhone originally, this was where photos you took with the camera went. Without the camera, it's left a bit stranded on the iPad.
The other "Photo Library" album is changeable only through an iTunes sync. If you put all the photos you want to use in your slideshows there, you could email them to yourself and then put them in the Saved Photos album one at a time. But that's awfully tedious and you can only have one Saved Photos album available at a time, so you'd have to do that with every slideshow you wanted. Not much use, I admit.
Until Apple improves the photo app on the iPad, it's not at all a versatile or very useful thing.

  • 'Saved Photos' as wallpaper....

....since these are images NOT in iPhoto how do I delete individual images? I have duplicates that I would like to remove but have not yet figured out how to do so.
Settings --> Brightness & Wallpaper --> Wallpaper --> Saved Photos
I don't see any way to delete images in this area.
Anyone have any idea how this can be done??
    Thanks.

Go into the Photos app, select the Saved Photos album (you might need to select the Album tab at the top in order to see the different albums). Then click on the icon in the top right (the box with the arrow coming out of it), tap on the ones that you want to delete (if you select one by mistake then tap on it again), and press the Delete button at the top when you've finished. You can only delete photos saved from emails, websites or transferred via the camera connection kit this way - those synced from your computer need to be unselected/unsynced via iTunes.

  • IPAD, unsecured link sys and external saved photos

Before I got my Airport Express, I connected to someone's unsecured link sys wifi so I could check out safari and email with my IPAD.
Problem is it sometimes switches from my airport express back to their link sys.
Can the owner of the link sys wifi store Photos from an Internet web site to my IPAD's saved photos album?

    Chris CA wrote:
    No.
Strange. I went into photos this afternoon and there were several photo I did not save. I deleted them. Looked later and a new photo had been saved.
I found my wifi had changed back to the unsecured link sys wifi.
I used the "forget" button on the link sys network. Will see if it switches back

  • Sending photo albums/events to Grandma's iPad

    Hi,
I want to send multiple photos to my Grandmother's iPad (preferably to the Photos application) without her having to sync with a computer. I see how you can "Save <N> photos" which were attached to an email, but they just end up in the Saved Photos album. How can I send or import an entire Event or Album?
    Thanks,
    Arya
P.S. I didn't know which forum to post this in.

Clarification: They all end up in a single, flat album, Saved Photos. The more I think about it, the more OK I am with the flat hierarchy, since that's what's displayed first anyway, but it would be nice if they could be organized (or even better, sent pre-organized into events, so I can do it instead of Granny having to figure it out).
    Thanks in advance.

  • 3.1.2: "Saved Photos" bug

There seems to be a hidden photo in the Photos app on my iPod touch. It says there is 1 photo in my Saved Photos album, but tapping on it shows nothing.
    Here is a screenshot:
Is there a way to fix this without restoring?

Were you able to solve this issue? I am experiencing the same problem with (1) Photo listed in the Saved folder - however, there is no photos in the folder.
I jailbroke (sp?) a while back, but since, have restored it as well. I haven't noticed any problems or issues with the ipod Touch - outside of the photo issue.
    Any luck?
    Thanks.

  • Syncing iOS Photo Albums

I'm looking for the most effecient way to manually "sync" my iPad and iPhone photo albums. Specifically, I'd like to have all the same albums, pictures, and videos on both devices. (One could also add an iPod into the mix as well.)
I like the devices to be "synced" for two reasons: 1) I simply prefer to have all my content available on both iOS devices, and 2) I have found that if content is not "synced" between devices it becomes hard to organize.
This process must be done manually for a few reasons: 1) Photostream/iCloud pics are temp, 2) Photostream/iCloud doesn't sync albums, and 3) Photostream/iCloud doesn't support videos.
Below I will outline the method am I currently using, and I'd like feedback if there is an easier/better/different way to accomplish the same. (If there is a way to automize any of these processes using additional 3rd party apps, please let me know.)
    1) Manually create the same albums on each iOS device. Ex. Create Family, Work, and Hobby albums on both devices.
    2) Manually (of course) assign iPhone pics/videos to iPhone albums and iPad pics/videos to iPad albums.
    3)  Use Photostream to automagically transfer pictures betwix devices. Pull pictures from Photostream and manually assign to corresponding iPhone/iPad albums. Ex. Take a picture with iPhone. Assign it to "Family" album on iPhone. Then, on iPad, pull same picture from Photostream and assign it to "Family" album on iPad.
    4) Use PhotoSync iOS app to manually transfer videos betwix devices. Pull videos from "Saved Photos/Camera Roll" and manually assign to corresponding iPhone/iPad albums. Ex. Take a video with iPhone. Assign it to "Family Videos" album on iPhone. Then, use PhotoSync app to send video to iPad. Assign video from "Saved Photos" album to "Family Videos" album.
    5) If you delete or remove from album a pic/video on the iPhone, manually do the same on the iPad and vice versa.
This is the method I use. Again, I'm seeking feedback about whether there is a better way to accomplish the same.
    Thanks!
