Disappearing text on rotate

why is it that when I use transform to rotate a dynamic
textbox the text no longer appears when i test the movie?

Are you on a Mac? Which DW are you using?

Disappearing Text in PDF

Hello,
Thanks ahead of time for reading this, and for your help.
I am in the process of filling out a very important (and, um, large) pdf issued by the IRS, and a very strange thing continues to happen.
After I type text into fields (or check boxes), save the pdf, and then open it up again, the fields look blank. When I select the field in which I had previously typed, the text becomes visible once again. When I move the cursor into another field, however, the newly-visible text (which had been invisible) becomes invisible again. The text in the new field then becomes visible.
I've been all over the web trying to find an answer to this problem, and although "disappearing text" seems to be an issue, I've been unable to find an answer.

Not necessarily a bug, but something different between how Adobe and Preview (and other OS X apps like Mail) handle displaying pdfs (I've noticed a few of these differences, actually).
Most likely the problem in your case is with layering (for example, many tiff image viewers do not support the layered tiff format that photoshop can create). You could try flattening the image before you save.
How did you create the pdf? Save As in CS3? If so, you could try the Print command and then save as a pdf from the button on the bottom, which would use OS X's pdf engine instead of Adobe's.

Numbers does not have rotated text within cells. You can place a text box over the cell that has rotated text but you cannot rotate text within a cell.

Is it possible to set text and rotatation in stored table formats?

I have a table that is a good candidate to be a table format because it will be resued many times. The heading text will not change and some of the text is rotated, so I'd like to store that too. Is there a way to do this in FM9? Here's a sample of what I'm aiming for. Any portion (text itself or rotation style) that can be set in the table format tag would be helpful.

I'm reasobably sure that table formats can't have any text in them. Tables with formatting and canned text are one of the things I use most frequently in my Auto-Text definitions. Auto-Text is a plug-in I wrote that is useful for inserting canned items into FrameMaker documents. You can learn about it here:

Why the Text disappears when I rotate it using Free Transform Tool?

My Text is visible before rotating it to verticle position using Free Transform Tool. But when once it is rotated to verticle position the text disappears from the Stage. And it is not an animated Text as well? What is the problem?

If the textfield is manually placed on the stage, you should be able to select the textfield and click the button for Embedding that is in the Properties panel.

Disappearing text...

I'm using Word 2003 and Acrobat Professional 9.0.0. Occasionally when converting from Word to PDF, lines of text disappear in the converted PDF. If I reconvert without tagging, the text does not disappear, but I want to keep the PDF's as tagged for accessibility. Any tips would be appreciated. Many thanks...

Can you please detail what kind of text are you talking about . Which font the text is in , what formatting is used .
If you can share any file which produces such issue would be of much help in resolving the issue.

Disappearing text in .pdf attachment

I created a .pdf using Photoshop CS3. The original image is a .jpg to which I have added text.
The background to this is I want to send a (relatively) secure letter with company logo.
I attached it to a Mail message.
Mail (v2.1.1) automatically shows me the image (as it does with all graphic files) but the text that I put on it had disappeared.
I then sent it (to myself) The text was still missing.
I then saved it to my desktop and opened it with Adobe reader (v8.1.0). The text re-appeared.
I then opened the the file using Preview (v3.0.9) the text was gone again!
I think this a bug. Can I do anything about this?

Disappearing text in a form

I’m new to live cycle and have set up a flowable form which I seem to be having some issues with.
As each sheet of the form needs to contain the company branding, the name of the member of staff completing the form and the date, I have set it up using a master page which includes some images for the branding, a text field for the name and a date field, all the other content for the form sits on the subform page one so the text field will flow onto numerous pages if required.
When text flows onto more than one page anything that has been typed in the text field set up in on the master page disappears and has to be re-entered, all other text fields within the form are fine.
Why does this happen and how can I stop the text from disappearing?

Did you set the binding of those masterpage fields to 'global'?
Every repeated masterpage represents a new instance with its own data window.
To have the same data in all the instances the binding needs to be global.

Disappearing text and image

I created letterhead in Pages for my lil brothers film production company. Saved. Exported the document to Word. Sent it to him. So far so good. Looks great. Each time he opens the document in WORD and trie to alter the text by selecting and typing over it both the text and the graphics disappear.
Is there any way to correct this? I really love the letterhead and have been having problems recreating it in other software.

Thanks for a quick response. I see yr point. The thing is I am setting up a table cell editor and a renderer. It is easy to set up the editor with a combo box. For the renderer, I am using a default cell renderer and I want to make it look like a combo box as well. Since the default cell renderer extends JLabel, I do something like

comboBoxRenderer.setIcon(image);
comboBoxRenderer.setHorizontalTextPosition(JLabel.LEADING);
which does not get me the effect I want. I can put more pixels between the text and image using setIconTextGap. But it is not fool proof. I think I will try yr approach, but then it gets a little complicated. Would have been good if there is simpler way. I will appreciate yr thoughts

How do I make email inbox disappear when i rotate to portrait

My email inbox does not dissapear when I rotate my ipad to portrait. Is there a setting that I've not checked?

In portrait mode, you can make the inbox disappear either by swiping to the left on the open email or by tapping on the Inbox button.

Disappearing texts iphone

On my iPhone running iOS 5.0.1, I have too frequently had texts arrive in my Messages application but then disappear immediately. Sometimes I see them appear in the top banner, but then when I open Messages, they flash for a moment, then disappear. I compare my screen to recipient's screen and sure enough, what I imagined I saw, they did send.
I have done a reset of the phone, turned off the phone, etc, but nothing has stopped this from happening. It is not common but it has happened many times.
Thoughts?

No answer yet. At least it is a bit more comforting that it is not just me. 6 people noted by post as a problem for them too. When it happens, it is unique to that specific receipt and text. Following texts from that person come in fine. It is just a random thing but it occurs too often to give me comfort. I never know what I've missed in a conversation when someone later tells me that they already told me something that I did not get. :-(

List of apps causing disappearing text sounds?

I have read that some apps are whats causing text alert sounds to disappear, as these programs somehow get info thru text messages and they therefore disable sounds.
So far what i have gathered is
Weatherbug
AIM
Loopt
i have none of these installed on my phone but the text sounds are still disappearing, i just deleted MLB at bat and ill keep deleting apps until the sounds stay. Im assuming its only programs that update info everytime you log in such as news and weather programs etc. Anyone have anything else to add to the list?

I haven't installed Os x 7.8 yet as i came accross this list today and it really made my eyes pop at the number of apps having issues with ML. That being said, I read a heap of people ******** about their apps not working and i sort of got ****** 'cause it took me 2 minutes to find this list, cost me nothing and I'm not angry at anyone except those who click before thinking and ripping up apples rep with disinformation or simply commenting before even taking a look at the tech specs for installing a new OS on their machines.
You two obviously don't fall into that category by looking at your conversation here!

Disappearing text in Captivate 7

Help! I am using Captivate 7 and have recorded a module in which I am using a mix of standard Text Captions and Smart Shapes. All is fine until I save and close the file, then re-open it. On reopening, all the text in all the Text Captions and Smart Shapes disappears, and I have to click on each individual object, on each slide, for it to then magically re-appear! Has anyone encountered this issue and found a solution? Thanks! J

Sounds like a corruption. Can you (trying to list up in sequence):
restart Captivate, problem still persists?
restart your system, clear cache in Captivate before opening project, problem still persists?
close Captivate and clean preferences; there is a file to run in the subfolder Utils under the Captivate installation folder.
When cleaning preferences you'll lose all customisation. Here is a post that can help you retrieve some custom things: Captivate 8.0.1 Install? Keep your Customisation! - Captivate blog
It doesn't matter if this was written for CP8, the location of the folders was the same in 7.

Disappearing text in display item

Facing a silly problem whereby text in a display item, which is populated automatically through the new form trigger disappears mysteriously when run on the web. The text appears fine in client-server mode. I have tried changing background colors for the display item and text color too.... in vain. But I can see that the display item is present, it is the text in it which is missing.
Any ideas?

A couple of options. Create a timer and write a pl/sql procedure which will do all those things for you, like changing background/foreground colors of your text/display item and replacing text imitating its movement. Or use image item instead with animated gif or something.
