Disappearing web clip from dashboard, yet sound remains

Wow this forum is amazingly helpful.
I have one more little bug on my laptop. I made a web clip of a youtube video just to try out the feature and put it on my dashboard. Once I was on the dashboard I clicked that small "i" in the bottom right corner. Now usually that makes the clip flip over and you can edit it. This one flipped and disappeared all of a sudden. Now I wouldn't be bugged if any other clipping disappeared. However the sound from the video of the youtube clip remained. So now every time I go to the dashboard and if I am online the sound will go on from the video. I tried adding another clip to see if flipping that one will make it disappear as well, but it just nicely flipped and I was able to edit it. Also when I clicked that x in the bottom left corner to show me the rest of the widgets I was able to delete this last clip that i added. However the first one that disappeared still wouldn't show up.
Is there anyway to make it show up or reset the dashboard?

delete com.apple.dashboard.plist and widget-com.apple.widget.web-clip.plist from
username/Library/Preferences and log out/in. This should do it.

How to remove web clip from dashboard?

I cannot seem to remove a web clip (from Reader) that is now located on my dashboard.
When I go to dashboard, web clip immediately directs me to the web page.
My dashboard is being held hostage by this web clip. I have tried going to Library>Preferences to remove com.apple.dashboard as per another posting - but cannot find it.
Can anyone help me remove this web clip?

** Broken "Web Clip" in Dashboard **

I tried to use "Open in Dashboard..." feature in Safari 3.1.2 but the Web Clip I chose just didn't want to show up in the Dashboard.

which preference files did you try to remove?
delete the files com.apple.dashboard.plist and widget-com.apple.widget.web-clip.plist from homedirectory/library/preferences
and enter the following command in terminal:
killall Dock

Getting rid of web clip in dashboard

I've got this web clip that plays in the background whenever I click on the dashboard. Don't know how to get rid of it. If I click on the "i" symbol, there is no option to delete, just selecting a different theme.

click on the + in the lower left corner of the dashboard. every active widget will get an X in its upper left corner. clicking on the X will remove that widget.

OK, tried to follow some recommendations after doing some web surfing, so it's ok with sending videos or active links to Dashboard, however my main reason why I created this thread was that when I make Web Clip containing login field of a site (Gmail, YahooMail) it DOESN'T work. So this is what confuses me mostly. Is there no other way to make it function properly?

Web clip to dashboard

I am trying to get a web clip to my dashboard, I have my web page, I have clicked " file " and selected open in dashboard, I have then selected the portion of the page I want on my dashboard, and then click " add " But on my dashboard I now have a window but the web clip is not showing in real size, it is magnified and I can only read one small corner of it. How can I get it real size.

This feature was never really implemented very well. And Apple has dropped Dashboard App development a couple years ago. Probably better to save bookmarks and reading lists. My biggest complaint is the clip never maintained its place after turning off Dashboard. It only lasted as long as Dashboard was left open.

How do I make two audio clips from different mics sound the same in premiere?

I have a video I am working on. we used two different mic and camera options. One is a lavaliere mic that was too hot and picked up a lot of fuzz, and the other was an on board mic that was just a little echoey from the office walls. I found that some clips were better on different versions. so I want to put the two different sets next to each other in video and make the sound be the exact same. That way no one notices the differences in audio.
Any help is appreciated.

Hi. Although not perfect, I'd add an audio mixer effect and adjust the highs, mids & lows on both of them to help their audio, respectively, sound more similar. Often when I shoot, my Boom mike (backup) is much fuller sounding than the lavs. are. Lavs are inherently lacking in the low end, and the boom is often too hot on the low end. So I would add Audio Mixer effect, and lower the low end on the boom slightly, and highten the low and mids just a bit on the lavs. Even taking a little highs off the lavs makes it sound a bit more like the boom.
As far as echo is concerned, you probably can't do to much about that unless you have an external graphic equalizer/limiter. Lot's of times I just add some music in the background, which helps a lot to hide echo from the mics.
Finally if you tape/record/film in a location that has lots of background noise like, background people, cars or rain or wind or general white noise "hiss", then you should record a minute or two of the location without any dialogue. This is is known as "Wala" recording. You can add a little of this to your whole track, or just on the mike track that doesn't seem to pick up the ambient sound, thus making it sound more like your other mike.

Dashboard Web Clip Problems

I have no problem creating web clips for dashboard and following their creation they appear in Dashboard and look fine.
The problem is that if I restart the computer or turn it off or log off and switch users, then when I return half or more of my dashboard web clips do not appear and give me this message ‘Web Clip was made using Safari’s ‘Open in Dashboard Feature’, open Safari”.
Why is this happening and how can I fix it besides recreating the dashboard web clip?

Anyone help us out here?
I haven't had a clip work yet, although I've only tried 5 or so. It is not a great incentive to try more when none of them work. ::grin::

Web clip problem after Safari 4

I get problems with Safari web clip as dashboard widget after switching to Safari 4. The widget window size changes and the update of its contents fails. Any fix?

I have the same issue. I have a Mac Pro w/ 2x2.8GHz Quad-Core Xeon 8GB Ram. So I don't think its a resource issue. I have a bunch of web clips on my dashboard. When I open the dashboard random ones will show only black. If I close and reopen those that were black might load and others will be all black. The issue didn't arise until I upgraded from Safari 3 to Safari 4. FYI- I tried recreating all of the webclips with Safari 4 just incase the issue was that they were originally created with Safari 3, but I still have the same problem. The clips are from all sorts of sites with a wide range of complexity. They all are affected at one point or another.
Any help would be appreciated, this is pretty annoying and begins to make me feel like I'm back on a PC.

WEB CLIP SECURITY THREAT???

My Dashboard was not active, wherein I have 3 web clips stored. Suddenly my system started to hang, and I force restarted the Dock. When I did I regained control of the system. And I checked the console and found the following disturbing message. Is this a security threat with web clips and how could it activate without my opening the Dashboard?

I say NO!
I say that is Kelly Blue Book's website you are attempting to clip, that site has problems on a good day and rarely works
at all with Safari. Try it with Firefox 3.1 and I bet it works just fine.
Could be your version of Safari/Javascript, but it usually bombs when it pops up with your zip code. Delete the clip
in Manage widgets and it should be fine.
The latest downloadable version of Safari from Apple's download is 3.1.2, when you download that update it it says
Safari311UpdLeo.dmg when it SHOULD be Safari312UpdLeo.dmg, but it doesn't matter I cannot get it to update my
Safari Version 3.0.4 (5523.15) (just did it 5 minutes ago).
I'm finding I use FireFox 3.1 more and more since every time I pick up Safari it doesn't display a site or is completely
broken. If you only have one browser installed, well, you are missing a whole lot of what you visit.

The admins applied a patch to my version of the OracleAS 10g Version 9.0.4. and now I able to register a provider with the same URL but different Provider Name. I added My Yahoo Web Clipping from the Portlet Staging Area. That works fine but when I click on the check mail link in the Web Clipping Studio it gives me the following error. I have tried several times and I get the same error....

Can I put a "web clip" on my iWeb page.

So you know how you can have a "web clip" in dashboard where you select part a webpage and it lets you see it in a little window, I want to do that in iWeb. I want to take a part of another website (not the whole page, just a section in the middle) and add it to my site. How can I do this?

That's about all I know about it. You will have to experiment with the numbers in the code to get the part of the page you need. I just tried to create a test and got it somewhat OK but know know really which numbers do what. It was a blind hit or miss at this time. Cannot remove Safari web-clip widget from dashboard

I created a safari webclip with a very high aspect ratio (it was longer than the height of my screen) and added it to the dashboard. When I went to click the i to edit the settings, it rolled over and is now completely off my screen such that I cannot access it to close it or remove it.
How can I go about removing this dashboard web clip widget with it being off my screen (but still using memory)?

Interesting dilemma.
One thing to try:
In the dashboard, click on the little plus sign so you get access to the "manage widgets" button.
There you can disable the "web clip". Maybe that will make the errant clip go away. I think if you
subsequently re-enable "web clip" you will get that functionality back but without that messed up clip.
