Disappearing website...

Hi all...
First post here, which I guess is a good thing...
OK, I'm successfully publishing my website using iWeb as I've done for years now...
But online, I'm getting a prompt:
"Safari can’t open the page “http://www.(my website).com/” because Safari can’t find the server “www.(my website).com”."
Might this be an issue with Mac?
Anyone else having problems with their website disappearing??

OK, the domain name is RadioFreeOlga.com...
The folks who registered it say:
"Your domain name was renewed through 2014. The problem is not the domain. It is the DNS Hosting."
So-ooo, I paid 100 bucks for 5 years for what I thought was all I needed to run my site using MobileMe and iWeb--domain name registration...
So they want another 150.00 for DNS Hosting...
A rip-off??

Disappearing websites

I use the Favorites for websites I visit frequently. I have it sorted into different folders, one being Most Visited. That folder holds sites that I visit daily. Starting last Friday, some of the sites in that folder have been disappearing on a random basis. I can restore the sites but they might disappear again. Any help in solving this problem would be appreciated. I am on OSX 10.8.2.

I could not get to Disk Utility. When I boot holding CMD+R I go to a screen that alternates between pictograms of how to put in batteries in the mouse and how to put in batteries in the keyboard. Booting holding the Option/alt key takes me to a screen showing three hard drives, the main drive, a restore partition and my external backup drive. Selecting the restore partition takes me to the same alternating pictogram screen described above. I cannot get past that screen.

Go to a Website no longer disappears when cursor in blank field

Normal windows standards dictate that an empty field show blank when a cursor is put in it. However, starting with FF15, the Go to a Website verbiage does not disappear. Is there a config to make this go away? Confusing, because your never sure quickly if the cursor went into the field.

"The placeholder will only disappear after you have typed at least one character." What?! Are you kidding me?!! This is not acceptable!
I restored my computer just to go back to Firefox 14.0.1, and then I shut off updates. And it's going to stay like that permanently until this is solved.

How can I stop partially filled out "Contact Us" websites from disappearing

If I want to contact a supplier to complain about a problem with his goods, on his website I find a form "Contact Us". This form usually has mandatory lines for my name, e-mail, address, phone number, etc.which must be filled out. Then the subject matter is supposed to be typed up in the space provided on the Form.
Many times such a Form suddenly disappears from the screen, before my typing is complete. Some of such disappearances are triggered by hitting the "Return" on the keyboard, when I want to start a paragraph. Obviously such a website is set up to understand this button only as "Enter" (because there is no proper "SENT" button) and thus sends the form up line uncompleted.
In any case, it suddenly disappears from my computer. The recipient will have no idea what the incomplete form is really about, and thus will not respond. What is really troubling is that when I go to my FF History and reload the form, or reload from the back-button, the form will only re-appear totally empty, and all my previous typing on the same form is lost.
Is there a way to set FF Preferences to prevent the disappearance of the completed content?
If not, there should be, both to stop the whole thing from happening over and over again, and secondly to provide an e-mail like record of what comment was sent by me.

As long as a text area has focus then the Enter key should add a new line. 
If you are in a single line input field then the Enter key will submit the form.
It is best to use the Tab key to move to the next field when filling a form.

In the Safari menubar at the top, choose View, Show Toolbar.

On my 1st visit to a certain website, Firefox _very briefly_ asked whether to remember my username and password. I was too slow: the dialog bar disappeared and now, I cannot find where to enter that logon info for my daily returns to that site.

On only the very first visit to a website, Firefox _very briefly_ shows a "Do you want Firefox to remember this password?" dialog bar at top right of screen.
The first time that I used Firefox to access this particular, and very often visited site, I missed that dialog bar. It disappeared before I had a chance to mark any one of the three boxes and now, I must enter my log-in information anew at every log-on to that site.
There _must_ be a way to get Firefox to give me a second chance for entering this info, but I cannot find how.
Can someone please help?

After first closing the site's browser window, I cleared the cookies with no problem.
Next, I opened up the page that is causing my problem. The Microsoft Security window opened up as it should and it was blank.
The option of whether I was using a public or a private
computer was blinking on 'public' as it should and I changed that to 'private'.
The lines for 'Domain/Username' and 'Password" were blank, as they should be at this time.
I entered whatever I had to on these two lines, then clicked on "log In". At no time, however, did the Firefox toolbar at top of screen (picture file attached) appear and ask whether to remember that password. Yes, the page now opened - and we are back to Square One.
I am aware that when entering the URL in the address box, a dropdown box opens and contains quite a few URLs identical to the one I am entering just now, or at least connected to pages of the same site.
I am wondering whether that is what's messing me up? But how can I clear these entries of "websites visited in the past from Firefox's memory?

When I open another Tab and type in a website address, after the site loads the URL in the navigation bar disappears. Why?

When I open a new tab and type in the website url, after the website loads the website url disappears. In order for me to get it to come back, I have to right click on the navigation bar and click undo. why is this?

Did this happen immediately after the reset or at a later time?
Does this only happen on a new tab?
What is the current setting for the new tab page as set via the browser.newtab.url pref?

Hi there, I had a free subscription for azure and I had one website that has now disappeared and I don't understand why since I was told that the website would still be available even after the subscription expired, and I was told that more than

$210 ) to spend on all Azure services is exceeded. If it is expired, then you might have to go for Pay-as-you-go

Firefox 26.0 on Mac will not display the website top menu bar so you make category selections. The menu appears briefly and then disappears.

After the update to version 26.0 (Mac), when visiting the Google Play website, the website menu bar which allows you to select categories disappears. When the page is loading, it will momentarily appear along with the 'gear' icon on the far right (for setting preferences). I have cleared cache, etc. and it still does not function properly.
The site functions properly with Safari and worked prior to this last update.

When you say you cleared cache, etc., did you also remove your Google cookies?
If you haven't tried that yet, and in case this is based on some kind of saved cookie-based setting, after save any pending work, while viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Tools menu > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove google.com cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
On Windows 7, the page is served with that category list hidden, and then a script slides it into view. It sounds as though that part is working fine for you, but then it is losing visibility after that. You don't have any extensions which appear to hide page content, so I'm not sure what is going on there.

Java Applet Disappears From Website

When I add a java applet to my web site on .Mac (inside the proper folder on my iDisk), it will run for awhile, but then will disappear. What is happening?

I created an applet from within a mathematics program called GeoGebra. I stored it on my iDisk in a subfolder in the /Web/Sites folder. I know it is in the right place because it runs fine on my website for 1 or 2 times, but then it will not run and I get an error message that the file can not be found. When I go to my iDisk and look in the folder where it was stored, it is no longer there. I know very little about html programming and java, and I don't understand where it goes. Is it because .Mac doesn't recognize java?

Status Bar disappear and Window autoresize on certain website

I have a problem with Firefox 5 (it was autoupdate from 4), the status bar sometime appear sometime disappear (it just appear on this Ask a New Question web page. I could not bring it back as I would like to anytime. On certain website the windows size automatically adjust to slimmer and taller (eg after on fastmail site reading email). It also gave strange problem on google search page from time to time (?? ABE ??what is it how to fix), sometime I got it sometime didn't.

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
*Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

I can't locate the browser window that I was signed in on. Help...I don't want to get a zero, but don't know how to get back into the website under my original log in & get back to my half completed assignment.

Please try this: In Firefox '''History''' ('''Alt''' + '''S''') and check if it is listed in either '''Recently Closed Tabs''' or '''Recently Closed Windows''' or in the list below. If you cannot find it click '''Show All History''', on the left of the window click '''Today''' below '''History''' and on the right look for the site entry corresponding closely to the time when you lost it. If you cannot see the column heading named '''Visit Date''', you may have to enable it by right-clicking on the column header strip.
Also please note that the online course site may have redirected you to another site for the test, so it is also a good idea to look into site entries that may match the time.

Why, after selecting it as a link to an external website, does the word disappear under a black box

I would like to create a link to an external website. But when I select the words and then type the url containing http:// in the "Link" field, the words disappear under a black box. How do I correct this?

Without the link applied, the page looks fine in the browser. But I am trying to figure out what is going on in the CSS file that would cause this. When I move the mouse over the design view, I notice that outlines forming boxes appear. They overlap the text that I want to create a link with. I tried deleting a box that overlapped the text, but doing so didn't work. I tried increasing the z index, but that didn't work. I tried applying an id instead of a class, but that also didn't work. I'll keep working on the css file. Thank you.

My Website Disappeared!? DW CS4 & Powweb

I designed a new site using Dreamweaver CS4. My web host, powweb, helped me with the configurations under Site|Management over the phone, and it showed up great on the internet!
I then realized I misspelled a word in the index.html homepage.
I edited it and pressed File|Save and then Site|Put.
A pop-up asked me if I want to also transfer Dependant Files. I clicked "Yes", and then my laptop died. When I plugged it in, I realized my whole website had disappeared and left just a dark blue page.
I called both support centers, and Adobe wants $39 for info, and powweb says everything looks fine in their system.
I am a newbie with all of this, so please be thurough in your advice, if you can help.
Can anyone help me fix this?

The good news is that your website is alive and well. It has not disappeared.
It seems that you have not defined a site in Dreamweaver so all your links in your webpage point to your local hard drive

ICE flashes on, then disappears, leaving only the website

I've been using Incontext Editing on a site for around 4 mos. All of a sudden, the people who I've set up with editing or publishing (as well as my account) can't access Incontext Editing. I've tried the following:
Changing their permissions from editor to publisher, and back
revoking their ability to make edits and then reinstating
pulling the site off of ICE, then setting it back up again
Here is what happens - If I, for instance, revoke and then reinstate one of my editors, they'll be able to log in, and make changes. BUT, later on that day, they lose capabilities. They'll log in, be asked for their password, and the incontext editing frame will appear around the website. But only briefly. Then it disappears and reverts to the regular website with out ICE editing controls.
It's there, and then just as quickly as it appears, it disappears.
Does anyone have any ideas? Nothing on the site has changed dramatically, so I'm stumped.

I'm having the same problem with http://www.indigo-healingarts.com.
The same behavior happens for me and my clients.
This is happening only for the one InContext Editing sites, although I have 6 others.
Site hosted at GoDaddy
If they log into incontextediting.adobe.com and navigate to the site through their site list, we have the same problem.
