Disappearing widgets when moving them onto image slider composition

I am trying to figure out why when I have a multi-image composition slideshow that I place the social networking widgets on to, they showed up on each image as it went through the slideshow.
Now, for some reason when I just relocate the widgets that are on top of the same slideshow composition, they lock themselves to just THAT particualr image in the show now. I need/want them to continue to be on top of all of the images as they display over each image as it rotates in the composition.
I am sure its simple, but I can't seem to find it. I have the same problem with more than just widgets, but all are associated with keeping them on TOP of all images that show in a slideshow.
Not sure if this is a bug or not.

Here is what I would do:
Import images in Lr. Then immediately after import, all images are displayed in <Recent/Previous Import> - Grid View.
Let's say there are altogether 5 different people in various combinations on all of these images.
I'd select all images that show John and create a new keyword "John" that is then immediately added to these images.
I'd select all images that show Anne (even if they also show John) and create a new keyword "Anne" that is then immediately added to these images.
Some of these images have only one keyword "John" or "Anne", some have both keywords.
I'd select all images that show "Carla" (irrespective if they also show Anne or John or both) and assign the keyword "Carla" to them.
Etc.
I'd probably would create these keywords under a new keyword that would have the name of the Event. So my keyword list would look like this:
- John's birthday party 2013
- - John
- - Anne
- - Carla
- - Jeff
- - Kent
Naturally you could also create keywords such as "John & Carla", "Carla & Anne" .

White Balance Selector Disappears when moved across the image

Hi
I am using LR 4.4 on an iMac.
Does anyone know why the White Balance Selector tool would disappear when moved across an image?
it seems to change to a vertical line with an arror top and bottom.
The areas of the image on which it disappears seem to be consistent, in other words, it disappears on the same portion of the image eveytime.
UPDATE: Since posting the above a few minutes ago I've noticed that my cursor is behaving eractically. For example, on a different image to the one used above, in the library module using the Loupe the cursor changes from a magnifying glass to an arrow pointing to the right. It does this on the same part of the image every time.

Weird cursor problems are a FEATURE of the APPLE os.
There are complaints on the APPLE os system website since 2005.
The last time I checked there were 30 pages of discussions about this on the apple site
https://discussions.apple.com/community/mac_os/os_x_mountain_lion.
I don't think APPLE has a clue as to how to fix this. It is seen in many apps, photoshop most commonly, lightroom,textedit,exxcel, and others.
Pray that something happens in soon to be released 10.8.4.

Lightroom 3 breaks stacks when moving them

Can anyone else confirm with me that if you move a collapsed stack of images to another folder, that it will only move the top image and unstack all the images? I've tried this is windows and mac. I reinstalled lightroom 2 on a new computer and it does not do this.

Same problem using an iMac.
With LR 2 selecting files then moving them with drag and drop moved only the visible files, but when you later moved the remaining members of stacks to the new folder, stacks were still intact.
With LR 2 right clicking on a new folder and selecting move selected files to this folder moved the entire contents of any stack even when lower files in the stack were not visible and selected.
With LR 3, you must open and select every member of a stack in order to move the files and keep the stacking from being destroyed.
Since I have tens of thousands of files in thousands of stacks, I am very irritated with this change or bug and look forward to its repair.

Photoshop CS2 redraw garbage when moving around an image window on my G4 laptop

Hi.I recently had to reinstall Photoshop CS2 onto my Mac Laptop 1.5 GHz PowerPC G4, running system 10.4.11, which required a new hard drive after the old one died. I am immediatly encountering a serious redraw/image repositioning problem in Photoshop that I have never seen before, and in Imageready as well. This does not happen in Macromedia Fireworks 8 however.
I am zoomed into an image. Using the hand tool, or the scroll bars or the arrows, as soon as I move an image little messed up line graphic glitches appear and stay in place for the remainder or working with an image, and ultimately covers the image completely after moving around within it a number of times. you can see examples of this in these screenshots I've uploaded:

I've tried trashing & re-installing photoshop completely, tried running it before the updates needed from the original Photoshop application disk, and after. still the same problem.
This occurs only when using the laptop on its own. When I hook it up to my Apple Studio Cinema Display, it works fine. The problem does not occur on the Cinema Display OR the laptop screen! it's very odd. Basically, the laptop is now something I cannot actually use away from my desk until this is resolved.
Has anyone ever encountered this or possibly have any suggestions or advice? Thanks so much!

Hi. Thanks for your responses. There is definitely some incorrectness in the info I provided about the computer. for the Hard Drive, it's odd.. I copied and pasted that from my system profiler.. In actuality the Hard Drive is 74.53 GB. Not sure how that error occurred.
Also I looked again at the computer's memory. I forgot the second larger 1GB memory card when I was copying and pasting from the system profiler. Sorry about that. I was in a but of a rush to get the question out.

Another thing I noticed about the problem I'm facing is that it leaves defects from mouse trails as well in the image window. None of the defects are lasting nor will they print. I close the file and they go away, if I zoom, they stay the same size. I'd agree, it sounds like a video card problem, but the reason I posted here is that only in photoshop and imageready do these problems occur. My guess, if it's the video card is that they are just programs that require more of the system. why my video card would be crapping out now, I have no idea. but I guess that's how it goes.
But why would it work fine when hooked up to the apple cinema display? even on the laptop screen itself the problem is not present. only when the laptop is on its own.
The computer has served me very well for almost 3 years without this problem, so that's why it's something that is not a normal problem that should be expected from this computer. I am grateful to have it & can't afford a new one.. this one is still sitting on my credit card balance. Thankfully I am under the applecare protection plan and will bring it in to the local Mac shop on monday and demonstrate the issue to them.

How can I preserve the date and time of photos when moving them from iPhone to iPhoto and then to other folders on my computer?

In the past I’ve had no problem moving photos from my iPhone 4 into various folders on my computer while retaining their original date and time. I would import into iPhoto, then drag the photos from iPhoto into other folders via the Finder or Adobe Bridge (which is my principal image organizer). The original date and time of the photo would always travel with the jpeg into iPhoto and then into other folders. However, sometime during a recent session transferring photos in this way, the dates of the photos started to change at the point when I copied them out of iPhoto. Within iPhoto itself, the various original dates of the photos are retained. But in Finder and Bridge, copies of those same photos all carry the same (worthless) date: the date and time that they were imported from my iPhone. I can’t figure out what would have changed on my Mac to make it start re-dating my photos. I was happily dragging and dropping photos, and suddently I started to lose the original dates. Did I inadvertently change some settings? (I am running OS 10.6.8 and using iPhoto 8.)

(I use iPhoto only to import from my iPhone; I organize all my images, including thousands of RAW files, in folders on a big external drive.)
Why are you using iPhoto at all? use image capture or drag and drop the photos
The problem is that the files I am copying are getting stripped of the EXIF metadata
eliminating iPhoto from your work flow will eliminate one oppertunity to have this happen For photos in iPhoto it is best to export them rather than drag an drop them - this assures your EXIF and IPTC data is correct and uptodate
Why would I be able, over many years, to retain EXIF metadata in photos imported from an iPhone--then one day find that the same workflow strips such photos of EXIF data?
Because exporting is the supported way to "export" photos - I never drag and drop photos out of iPhoto and I never use thrid party programs on the photos in the iPhoto library - try exporting as suggested above and see if that is the solution

Also I would limit the legth of each line of code. Its hard to read your code when you need to do horizontal scrolling all the time. One way to shorten you code is to do something like the following:
Toolkit toolkit = Toolkit.getDefaultToolkit();
Dimension screen = toolkit.getScreenSize();
Now you can just use: screen.width and screen.height.

KDE desktop icons looks ugly when moving them

If you look at this image: http://i.imgur.com/NGKSX.png you can see the middle icon looks terrible, all the icons look like that when I move them.
What's causing this and how can I fix it? Anyone else having the same issue?

There's not much you can do, there is a patch to folderview plasmoid on http://kde-look.org/content/show.php/Fo … ent=140457, but it was for older kde releases..
I tried it now and it doesn't seem to remember the location, showing only your $HOME, maybe you can talk to the dev for an updated version.
...Or, of course, you can submit this problem at bugs.kde.org, hoping it will be fixed soon.

Image Placement when moving from all images to Quick collection

It would be nice if your position in the main catalog would remain intact when you move from the main group of imgages to the Quick Collection. Presently, you scroll down through thousands of images in the main collection and find an image that you feel might be similar to one you've already added. You go to check the Quick Collection to review your selection and when you go back to continue searching the main collection, the cursor takes you back to the very top of the page of the main collection. You then have to scroll through thousands of images you've already looked at. Is there currently a way around this anyone?
An even better option would be the ability to open the Quick collection or any other Collection and view the images in side by side windows with the main collection. Aperture allows viewing in this manner. this would be a nice addition to Lightroom.

Users inconsistent when moving them from one org ID to another.

We are using SRM 5.0, and every time I move a user within the organizational structure it renders them useless.
When I check users_gen -> Check user and employee data I get the following:
Error: Business partner for <USERNAME> is missing or contains errors
And, at the right, on the column "Object existence/consistency", we get a red light.
Is there a solution for this issue?

Please check in BP relation in BP transaction, for the BP of the user .
Go to BP transation --> enter the BP number of the user --> click on start --> double click on the result --> now click on 'Relation' button
If we don;t have any relation then this is the issue.
If we find more than one relation then this is also an issue.
If we find one entry --> now double click on the entry --> check whether
any error. If there is any error, related to address please correct the address of org. to which the user is connected.
If there is no relation in BP relation, try to recreate it with the following steps, (this can be applicable only if HR Replication - OFF)
For this purpose, position the cursor on the business partner of
the user, select the context menu with the right mouse button and select
'Delete -> Assignment'. Memorize the business partner number and then
assign the business partner to the position again. To check your
changes, start Transaction USERS_GEN.

Clips from Premiere not appearing in After Effects when replacing them with an AE composition

I am attempting for the first time, moving my edit from a sequence in Premiere Pro (CC) to After Effects, in an effort to color correct my clips in Ae rather than Pr. I highlight all the clips in my edit from my sequence, right click, and select "Replace with After Effects Composition." This then opens After Effects as it is suppose to, and has me create a new project. It then shows that I have created a new linked composition, the way it is suppose to, but does not have any clips linked with it. As I understand, your project tab will show both the composition and the clips. I am only getting the composition. What do I need to do to send my sequence from Premiere to After Effects?

I think it's a bug. The same thing happens to me. To work around it, I go to AE and either import the Pr project choosing the sequence I want, or I use the Adobe Dynamic Link command to link to the desired sequence.

When I resize an image 4-5 times it blurs automatica

Can someone please please HELP !!!
When I paste an image into Fireworks and start to resize it
using the mouse. The image starts to blur. The more and more I
resize it say 4-5 times the image becomes un clear. It seems there
is an automatic blur on the image. Never set anything. It does for
every image. If you try opening a jpg or bmp in fireworks and start
to resize it using mouse (drag window to appropriate size) you will
notice the image becomes blurry. Why is this ? Driving me nuts !!!

That is exactly what everyone has been saying.
Make it smaller - you resample the image. Now those pixels
are
lost,period. So when you make it bigger there is a lot less
information
therefore the original quality is no longer there.
If you need to, play around with the size of an image until
it fits the
design by changing the size back and forth. Once you are
satisfied with
the design reimport the image one more time and ONCE make it
the right
size. Or use senocular's tip on making the image a symbol
first.
btw, at you will also get image distortion with your method
in Photoshop.

What is happening in the most recent keynote when I click on a slide and it pulses (larger-smaller) Two of my slides have disappeared in the navigator although if I play through them they are there and the slides have their orignal number--there are just white spaces where the slide should be and I can only get to the slide by clicking through from the prior slide. How do I get the sldies back into the navigator so I can see them. Oddly, they are show up just find on the light table.

Try removing any transitions or builds on these slides, or delete the slides then recreate them as fresh slides.
There are many playback anomalies in Keynote 6 which Apple have said they will be sorting out next year.

When I duplicate or copy slides, my custom theme images turn into big grey boxes with an 'x' through them and a question mark in the middle in their new destination. When I go look at the master slides, I see that there are now two sets of masters, one for the my custom theme and a new one just like it, but with no images.

OK, got it ... the Power ON Factory reset procedures might have changed with GB ...
To get to a Factory reset using the Power up method:
1. Power Off phone
2. Press & Hold the HOME Button
3. Press and Hold the Power ON button.
You come up to the Triangle with the Exclamation mark & android guy.
Press BOTH the Up and Down Buttons at the same time. This brings up the Blue menu of options.
use the Up/Down arrows to scroll thru the choices. Press the POWER Button to Select the menu item you choose.
You can harmlessly test this and just choose to Reboot without doing anything, just to see how it works in case you ever need to do this in the future.
edit: It was concluded in the test group that they changed this process to align it with the new DX2 as the camera button isn't hard-wired like it is in the DX. So likely they just wanted to make this process the same for both platforms. At least it sounds like a good reason...

Have you launched and tired Image Capture? When it's launched with the iPad connected the photos will display in the window. Select those you want to upload and use the Import to: menu and select Other. Navigate to the Desktop and select the folder you created to hold those photos.

How can I make a image slider using Dreamweaver? Is there any image slider widget I could use?

I was browsing through the web when I saw a website which had a really cool image slider. I don't have any idea of how to develop anything similar, but I was wondering if maybe dreamweaver had any widget that has already been developed by someone else that is open source for everyone else to use. Is there anything any?

Ken is referring to a "roll your own" slider that works great. There are lots of those.
None of those are built in to Dreamweaver. None of those will give you a panel within Dreamweaver with which you can build them.
Project Seven does sell widgets that are Dreamweaver extensions.
Adobe is offering another one for free (and you get additional function if you buy it).
Extend Studio offers Power Slider (with a free trial).
And there is Nivo Slider.
These are extensions that plug in and extend what Dreamweaver can do.
