Disappointed with Adobe CC
Hi to all,
My first 12 months of membership to CC is just about up and I must say I am most dissapointed in the whole concept. I decided to give it a go based on Adobes promise of regular updates with "exciting" new features added regularly.
This has not occured!
Most of the updates I have received have been adobe correcting issues that should not have been there in the first place and puting back features that were removed and in some cases, if you keep up with the forums, issues still not resolved. I say this with reference to mainly Dreamweaver while the other two programs I use extensively Photoshop and Illustrator have seen nothing new or inovative to my mind.
Granted there have been a few minor new changes but over all I think Adobe is ignoring their customers and not delivering on the promises made in the marketing spiel
I have received many updates to the CC manager but at $50.00 AUD per month I feel like I am paying a lot for something that would normally be a freebie.
My question to Adobe is when are you going to deliver all the new inovative stuff that we were all lead to believe would come from a CC membership?
Consider that the total cost of the CC membership, when you do the math over the time periods, is similar to the cost of regular upgrades, in the regular upgrades you got a whole bunch of new stuff that was tested extensively before it was released and you still got fixes and tweaks regularly online at no cost.
I like the concept of CC Membership - But in its current incarnation I dont want it, dont like it but am now feel stuck with it !!
Creative Cloud is the delivery system.
Dreamweaver CS6 (ver 12) had 2 significant updates that were not available to perpetual license users.

#2 http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/whats-new-dreamweaver-creative-cloud-release-feb- 2013.html
Subsequently in summer 2013, Dreamweaver CC (ver 13) came out. And I believe that one has received 3 updates so far.

IMO, Adobe is making good on it's promisses.

It seems you can get their salespeople in well under an hour
on the weekends or evenings by phone, but are made to wait so long
for support (customer service or technical support) to clean up any
problems after the sale that you just bail on the call because you
are required to hold so long that you begin to feel the call has
simply been forgotten, and that they will never pick up.
Do they actually pick up? I haven't had a whole day to wait
on a Saturday, so I don't actually know if they do or not. Anyone
had any luck with this?
Secondly, in the Flash CS3 Welcome Screen under "Get the Most
out of Flash" mentions something called "Bridge Home" in the new
CS3 version of Adobe Bridge. So, I opened Bridge CS3 to see what
they were talking about, and it was not where it was supposed to
be, according to the help file. In fact, I can't find it anywhere.
I tried to call and get installation help, but that number is
only available to me while I am at work trying to make money to pay
for all my Adobe products and upgrades. I tried to reinstall the
Bridge, but there's no option to reinstall just the Bridge from the
installation disk, and from what I've read online about the
installation nightmares people are having just getting Flash
installed, thought I'd better quit while I was ahead, meaning I
successfully installed Flash CS3 the first time, and didn't want to
chance losing it on a complete reinstall.
Anyone know how to access Bridge Home when it doesn't show up
in the favorites menu, or reinstall Bridge CS3 without having to
reinstall the whole shootin' match?
Thanks,
Jim Carruthquote:

I was remembering this case while working on something
else...
When you open the Flash splash screen and click on "Get the
Most out of Flash" it takes you here:
http://www.adobe.com/products/creativesuite/gettingstarted/?trackingid=RVJN&pss=fl_9.0.0_w in_en_full__PF_20040226
So what that tells you is if you're in Flash CS3
Professional, choose File> Browse... that's supposed to launch
Bridge CS3.
So when Bridge CS3 launches it's supposed to look like the
screen shot in the above URL. You'd see the "Favorites" tab. Then
Bridge Home would be the first selection in the Favorites tab.
So the question then is, what do YOU see when you launch
Bridge? -
I'm really disappointed with Adobe CC 2014, especially with Illustrator 2014
I was very excited with the "mayor" released announced for yesterday event.
I really was expecting tons of tweaks an improvements to speed up my workflow and some serious new features (specially related to UI design).
This was my wishes list:
- Export individual/multiple objects to separated PNG.
- Export individual/multiple symbol to separated PNG.
- Export entire symbol library to separated PNG.
- Place all symbols in library to artboard (create contact sheet).
- Scripts panel with folders, subfolder, etc.
- Easily assign shortcuts to individual scripts.
- When creating an action that involves Save for the Web it should remember saving preferences. (i.e. image format & destination folder).
- When editing an action, the commands added later won’t be remembered.
- When exporting symbol to PNG via slices the final exported image size sometimes ix 1px larger than it shows in the transform panel.
- Dialog windows won’t appear centered on a Macbook retina, instead they appear offset to center, left.
- Hex color mode in global swatches.
- Sometimes, randomly, when you select and object the selection boundary spans as it various objects where selected.
- Actual size view (100%) should zoom accordingly to the current working area rather than force zoom upon the last selected artboard.
- Ability to enter hex values in ALL color panels more accessible (e.g. gradient color selector).
- Ability to create color groups that include gradients.
- Snap to grid and snap to pixel works inconsistently sometimes.
- Changing a color to a layer in the layers panel won’t change the color of its childrens.
- Smart guides aren’t as smart as they should be.
- Ability to adjust text box to content by double clicking, just like in Indesign.
- Characters/words/paragraphs count.
And this is what I got:
- NOT A SINGLE new feature.
- Just a couple of silly tweaks to anchor points and rounded corners that while useful they don't improve my workflow at all.
- Now I have 2 instances of each Adobe app instilled on my hard drive. That make no sense.
- I cannot sync my shortcuts, workspaces, preset etc. which means that I have to set up it from the ground up for EACH app.
Now seriously Adobe, do you think that I going to renew my subscription the next time?Jacob Bugge wrote:

Lightroom, Assertion Fail, and my utter frustration and disappointment with Adobe
Right now it is after 3AM and I have been trying for hours to get my very expensive Adobe software to work because it decided break even though I had not changed anything since it all worked correctly last weekend.
I have been using Lightroom since it initial beta and rely on it to do my job as a photographer. I upgraded to 5.4 the day it came out, which has not been several months ago. It all that time I have not had any problems. Specifically, a week ago it was working just fine. In case this is relevant, despite having full Lightroom 5 and Photoshop CS6 licenses, I went ahead and signed up for CC while the photographer bundle was still available. Anyway, tonight I came home after photographing and event and went to start the import process only to find that Lightroom decided it wanted me to register again, and then did two "Assertion Failure" popups before completely failing to work. This happens if I just launch the application or click on an individual catalog to open it. My deadline which requires the processing of almost 800 photos is what is now this afternoon.
So far I have:
* Run through the entire Adobe provided steps listed here: Error: 'assertion failed' | Update | Windows
* Tried running the application as admin
* Rebooted the computer
* Uninstalled and reinstalled 5.4 using CC
* Uninstalled and installed 5.3 manually
* Manually installed the 5.4 upgrade on top of 5.3
* Tried Chatting with a "Customer Service" rep. This name is completely false. As a customer, the service I need is for the software that I both bought and subscribed to to work when I need it to work for my job. The person I was selected to chat with told me that they had no way to help me with any sort of technical issue and I would need to call tech support starting Monday at 5AM. This is completely insane. Why are they even available on the weekend if they can't solve technical issues? Who sits around on Friday night with issues important enough to contact support immediately that aren't technical in nature?
This is made even more fun by the fact that it would appear all or most of the Adobe website is offline right now.
At this point I am at a complete loss for how I am suppose to make this work. Any suggestions for solutions other than was I have listed above would be greatly appreciated. If some technically capable Adobe person happens to see this, I would be more than willing to provide any debug output that might be helpful.jgoforth wrote:

Disappointed with product introduction
I am new to FrameMaker. Based on its popularity and others' comments, I'm sure it is a fascinating, feature-packed program that can do a lot for me in my technical writing. However, I am disappointed with Adobe's lack of introduction to the product. Any product should come with material that tells me what is special about it and who is meant to use it. It should also have sample work to show what can be done with the product. Instead, Adobe begins with a Getting Started with FrameMaker that introduces the user interface and screen basics, which are not yet of concern at this introductory stage. Note also that there is a section called "What's new in FrameMaker 9", clearly oriented to past users, but totally ignoring the need of new users to learn about the essence of FrameMaker.
I hope the folks at Adobe are listening and will provide some introductory material. I would be most thankful for it.hmm63 wrote:

I agree that it's hard to find good getting started training materials in the FrameMaker package that you buy. Some versions of FrameMaker were shipped with a training disk, or with training materials on the main disk. I'm not sure if recent versions do.
Recently some Adobe products have come with a 30-day free subscription to Lynda.com online training. Sometimes there's something in the package that tells you about these goodies, and other times you'll get email that tells you about them. You probably have to register your software at Adobe.com. You'll need to create an Adobe user account (free) if you don't have one. The adobe.com site isn't easy to find your way around. On the home page, type register in the search box at the top right, click Product Registration, and the registration log-in page appears. You can create an account if you need to.
Search Google for terms like "adobe.tv framemaker tutorial," "free online video training framemaker," and "framemaker training resources" without quotes for some good links. These searches include content from the official adobe.com site as well as others.
Forum participants are users who volunteer to help others in the community, as they've been helped - passing a torch. You're always welcome to post questions here. It's most helpful to would-be helpers if you state the subject of your question clearly, one question or problem per message thread. And, provide your exact version of FrameMaker; it's the version number (like 9.1) and the build number (pxxx) displayed with Help > About FrameMaker.
And, you can help others who struggle to find good introductory material in the package by posting a formal request at https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform.

Since loading Lion, I've experienced much more instability than Snow Leopard. In particular, Mail crashes with regularity, full-screen apps seem to run slower and show the beach ball more often for longer, etc. I love the features, but I'm disappointed with the performance. Any help coming from Apple? I've been sending them so many reports after crashes, that their file must be full!
Summoning max. courage, I did what you advised. Here is the result. What does this tell you? My Lion 7.2 (mid 2011 iMac) has several annoying glitches (which I have so far tolerated through gritted teeth) but none that have actually stopped me working.
BTW, I see several items involving CleanMyMac which I did not know I had. It is generally villified as a trouble-maker. Spotlight can't find an app. or a utility of that name. How can I get rid of what's there please? Just delete?

How do I remove a blank line in a pdf with adobe pro XI?
How do I remove a blank line in a pdf with adobe pro XI?
Can I combine text blocks into one paragraph that are now given line by line?
Is there a way to add a paragraph to an existing pdf and have the remaining text flow to the next pages? You can't, no, and no. Acrobat is not a word processor, and trying to use it as if it is will lead to enormous frustration and disappointment. Maybe you need to convert this document to Word if you want to do this sort of editing, but don't expect fancy layout to be preserved.

Issues with Adobe and their Acrobat XI Pro product
A couple of problems I am having with Adobe products. First, you tell me I can't get Acrobat XI Pro in Papua New Guinea and yet you allowed me to have the free trial. Now I want to buy it and you won't let me. Second, your chat which says is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week doesn't work. Lastly, I can't change my country of residence in my account. So far it's a very disappointing experience with you. I wonder if there is some other product out there that does the same thing without all the problems I am encountering from Adobe?
Hi vintage kiwi,

The version of Acrobat that comes with Creative Suite 3 has multiple glitches, especially with regard to the interface between Acrobat and Microsoft Word. Making PDF files from Word .Doc Files--the main reason I bought this product (OK, it was also on sale), so it was kind of disappointing to find out that I can't do that. The basic hit-or-miss with Word/Acrobat inter-functionality is most glaring in the PDFMaker addon in Microsoft Word 2003, in which Adobe prevents Word from saving the Normal Template for as long as it is installed. You can uninstall PDFMaker, but then you can no longer make PDF files from .DOC files, period. In practical terms, this means that all of my style changes and keyboard shortcuts get wiped unless I uninstall Acrobat to update Normal.dot, then reinstall it to make PDFs and just not save shortcuts or change styles in the meantime.
Adobe Creative Suite 3 has a ton of gratuitous interface bells and whistles, stuff that's amazing but haven't had a use for professionally (i.e., Flash, since I mainly do composition work), stock photos that were discontinued as a feature right after I started browsing them online... the list goes on. Apparently the only way to report it is this impersonal channel or to pay 40 buck to get treated like a value customer. Sorry, I'm not one of those people who has Platinum Citizenship and can just buy the new version every year and blow eighty bucks when I can't find an answer in the Help menu. I've tried multiple Adobe downloads that were supposed "fixes" for this, and nothing has worked. Third-party online indicate that the Word software was actually pretty solid that year; it's Acrobat that's corrupting the code. I love Photoshop (not that I have the first clue how to really use it), but I am very disappointed with Creative Suite 3 overall. Does anyone know if there is an OpenOffice type product on the freeware circuit that would copy the function of Acrobat and work with a ten year-old version of Word, without the not-working part? And what is the point of all this? CS3 is now 7 years old and Office 2003 just the same. Yes, sometimes software has bugs and compatibility issues. Beyond there is nothing here to discuss on either end, given the circumstances...

How do I get a refund? I have tried to use this converter to change a PDF to a word document or excel document three of four times and it always fails.. I want my money back but don't see any way to communicate with Adobe. i really just want my money back. Very disappointed. Also disappointed that it is so hard to find a way to communicate with Adobe that I have to resort to asking this question in this forum.
You need to use the CHAT link in support to reach Adobe staff. Be sure you know the product name you are trying to cancel, Adobe have lots of products, several converters etc. I think it is ExportPDF you have, most likely.

Form filled on ipad. When opened with Adobe Reader all text is visible, but if opened with Acrobat XI no text is visible- form is blank. Have been using this system for months with no problems.
That suggestion makes sense and likely works, but only if the user is on a machine that will allow them to use Reader. I'm sending this out to a lot of teachers, who are using machines either at school, or are school-issued machines, and they don't have the admin privileges to install software-- even Reader.
so my problem is, if they are stuck on a machine without Reader, and without the possibility of having Reader... it's just not going to work because Preview can't handle these functions.
And, since that is not an acceptable answer with what I'm trying to do... I will find another way to create/submit forms. I think there are some online possibilities I will have to make work.
very, very disappointing and frustrating.

Total Frustration With Adobe Support!
Just a rant about current practices at Adobe......
Adobe's new flagship Photoshop CS4 Extended is hyped as the "Cat's Meow" of photo editing and graphics software. It has some of the most advanced features available including 3D, hardware rendering, advanced stacking, HDR, etc., etc., etc. It actually may be the most fantastic editing software anywhere! But, you can't prove it by me.... Not yet, and maybe not ever....
I can't install it! I have attempted to put it on two of my systems. One a Dell, the other a Gateway. Each has Win XP Home edition. After over six hours of install, uninstall, upgrade video drivers, download 814 megabyte files "twice," install Windows Service Pack 3, etc., etc., I finally called Adobe Support only to be totally disappointed with the non-support.
First, I am subjected to a lengthy wait listening to loud, bad, music loops. Next I'm connected to a "support" person, apparently in India or Pakistan with an accent making it very difficult to understand his "English." He wasn't at all interested in learning about "where" the installation had failed, but just wanted to shovel me off to download a "Windows Cleaner" and "CS4 Cleanup Script." He informed me that I may have to uninstall "ALL ADOBE PRODUCTS" before installing the CS4 Extended Trial.
Now the above statement is just plain stupid, especially from an Adobe representative! Try Adobe Flash, Photoshop versions 5, 7 and CS each complete with dozens of plug-ins, hundreds of actions, specialized settings, etc. How about Adobe Frame Maker with hundreds of projects, Adobe Quick Time, Adobe Encore, Adobe Premier, etc., etc., all with myriad data, plugins, etc. We're talking weeks of reinstall or a complete reinstall of the disk which would, of course, wipe out CS4 EXtended (if it were ever installed - LOL).
So after once again uninstalling the remnants of CS4, installing and running the Win cleanup and CS4 cleanup and reinstall of CS4 Extended - guess what? Yep, failed at exactly the same point - the installation of "Adobe Media Player."
I've wasted two days on simply trying to evaluate CS4 Extended. I've installed a service pack I didn't want or need. I've completely lost Flash thanks to the CS4 Cleanup script and still have no CS4 trial installation. I'm writing this while again listening to bad, loud music loops (for the past 45 minutes).
Listen up Adobe - I've spend many, many thousands of dollars with your company and deserve better treatment. Will I purchase CS4 Extended? It's not likely and becoming less likely with every bar of bad, loud, music loop. Do you actually want to sell your products? Then get some knowledgeable technical support people who can help sort out issues like this and make them available. Don't have some 1st level "support" dweeb who speaks the native language of the country where the support is to be given with an accent so strong that it's impossible for a native speaker to understand. Don't have someone who insults the intelligence of the potential customer with silly statements. In addition to the statement about possibly removing "all Adobe" software before the install, he make the mistake of telling me that this was only "Trial Software" an therefore not necessarily a "stable" and trouble free version. I had to remind him that Adobe states that you simply pay for then receive the unlock code and this "unstable" trial version becomes the "real" and "very expensive" CS4 release version! Give me a break already!!
End rant..... Beware. If you order CS4 maybe you should download the trial version first and be certain it will install and run on your system. I hope you have better luck than I've had.
Best regars,
Lin Evans

[email protected]Hi Marian,
Assuming Adobe actually "reads" the forum, I believe that my statement
was appropriate since there are few, if any, other viable ways of
actually getting the message to them. "Support" is terrible unless one
can get to second tier and that's only available usually "after" you
have spent your money and discovered the issues. It certainly has not
"always" been like this. In the old days one actually could speak with a
"technical" support person and didn't have to jump through the hoops
with inexperienced first tier people who know just enough to be
dangerous! Of course it's more difficult in trying economic times and
taking support off-shore is common to a huge number of U.S. companies
with varying degrees of success. I'm certain that many simple question
could be answered in such a fashion, but not all and though forums like
this are very helpful, users also frequently do not have all the
information necessary to help resolve technical issues.
It is indeed the "trial version" which I downloaded (twice) and with
which I'm having the problems. The solution offered on this forum did
indeed get CS4 Extended on my system. Unfortunately, without the Adobe
Media Player which may, or may not be of significant importance which is
yet to be determined.
Yes, I'm a user of "many" Adobe Products since there has been an Adobe
company, and a user of Photoshop since the first release. My sole
purpose for CS4 Extended is for the 3D output. Otherwise CS works just
fine. I'm not really influenced by marketing, only interested in the 3D
output to video. I write tutorials and templates, for a presentation
slideshow software with which I prepare image "objects" by using chroma
key software to create individual frames from video and animate as still
objects. Having a way to easily output cubes, cones, or other 3D
objects, etc., with chroma key green or blue backdrops is important to
me. CS4 Extended has this feature which I need, and I don't know of
other software presently available and which will fit into my workflow.
Photoshop CS works fine for the majority of my photo and graphic
manipulation, but it doesn't have this new and useful feature which I need.
I'm not upset with Adobe marketing - they actually pretty much advertise
truthfully in this case. Nothing which I've heard or seen from Marketing
at Adobe has really stretched the truth beyond credibility. I am upset
with Adobe's support service. It's gotten progressively worse over the
years and the arrogance has multiplied. There's an old saying which
somehow rings true here: you get what you pay for. One good technical
support person is worth half a dozen of what I'm seeing off-shore. They
are underpaid, inexperienced and generally (in my experience) short and
arrogant with potential customers. This isn't good for business. CS4
Extended is a comparatively expensive investment and Adobe should go
out of their way to help facilitate the installation and use of their
trial versions. After all, that's what will eventually convince the
majority of people to buy or not.
Best regards,
Lin -
I got to vent because maybe others can make sense of this. I
don't know if Adobe just hired new "visionaries" at the company,
driving it in different directions, but they're starting to concern
me a bit. I would like to work in a reasonably predictable
environment, increasing my knowledge and skills in software tools
that provide job security, and to further push your designs and
applications from familiarity.
It seems like every month we hear about more features that
are being removed from the development lineup... functions within
the applications, and of course the well documented stop of support
for the latest MS web development standards, but now we just found
out that they are removing Adobe Stock Photos service for good and
giving people a month to quickly download their images before they
close shop. HUH? What is going on over there at Adobe? I keep
hearing the reason "to focus on other areas" excuse every time a
feature gets hacked, but focus on what? I mean, do they really
think flex is going to replace everything or something? I have no
problem with change provided there's a reason for it. What's the
reasoning in removing a great service like Adobe Stock Photos?
For those that dont know yet...
"As of April 1, 2008, the Adobe Stock Photos service will be
discontinued. You will be able to purchase images through the
service until March 31. We have decided to discontinue this service
in order to focus our efforts in other areas. We appreciate your
support of Adobe and the Adobe Stock Photos service
So, what do you do now?
Conclude your business with Adobe Stock Photos."
LOL... nice Q&A Adobe!Me too. And if iStockPhoto doesn't have what I need, Veer.com
has everything
imaginable, up to the very best quality, and offers a free
service to help
you find exactly what you need.

Problems with Adobe creative cloud offline packages ( Windows )
Hi
When I try to install packages that are created with Adobe Creative Cloud Packager for Enterprise they start installing and then they roll-back in the middle of the process without returning any error.
Not really sure what can cause this as there are not many options to select from when creating the package itself...
Any ideas anyone?
