Disappointed with my windows phone!!(lumia 620)

I bought a new lumia 620 as a back up to my android(htc one x+)..but I am very disappointed with some of these glitches..
1. No notification centre..it's really a pain!
2. Can't pay via SIM card to purchase an app..
3. Can't play high mp4, mkv, flv videos though I think the snapdragon s4 is capable to do it..is Nokia waiting for a developer to put up such an app at the store?!!
4. Limited file download size...!!! It's worst...I got an unlimited data plan and don't really have to care..why Microsoft has to protect me!! Instead they should turn it to a feature by allowing the user to decide the restriction..for example: if u have a 1 GB data plan you should be able to set a restriction which would protect you when your overall usage exceeds 1 GB! I feel as if windows is trying to follow APPLE blindly..why make it so complicated instead of user friendly!!
5. My handset does crash and restarts at least once a day..
6. Battery drains out too quickly..something which is not expected from Nokia
7. Very few apps..most of them are **bleep**..if not they are too costly..I even feel Microsoft should reduce the price of app hosting
8. Whenever I share via Bluetooth..my phone hangs for sure and there is no option other than removing my battery and restarting..
9. If any unsupported file format is downloaded I don't know where is it stored..and eats up my memory...
I am even using APPLE IPOD with which I share a better experience than my lumia...
I am sure to ditch this useless paper weight within a month if no improvements appear..
Sorry if my language is rough but it's my frustration with lumia..and I am fed up..expecting a good update...
And these are what I know is all consumers want..Nokia and Microsoft should think about consumers satisfaction above all!!!

Paying through your mobile account for apps is the responsibilty of your network provider to support this feature for Windows Phone, so you need to take your complaint to them.

WIndows Phone Lumia 928 Newbie

after using Android for the last year and a half, everytime i'd go into a store i'd always pick up a Windows phone and give it a quick go 'round. something about it just made it stand out from Android and especially iOS. since my wife's line was eligible for an upgrade i decided last week to take her upgrade and the plunge and go the with Lumia 928 on Verizon. Windows OS and the phone itself did not disappoint.
within minutes i had the gist of the OS, updated to Amber, and over the last week been customizing to make my device the way i want it.
my son thinks i'm crazy going with a Windows phone since he's a diehard Android fan....but, hey, it works for me and quite happy i made the switch.

Glad that you are pleased with it, although any device running network branded firmware doesn't always reflect device at it's best compared with generic SIM free version. One example is that I believe you do not get FM radio with Amber + GDR2 whilst Verizon 822 does.

Apex 4.2 with WP7 ( Windows Phone 7 ) Bug ?

Hi,
since my upgrade to APEX 4.2 ( comming from 4.1.1.) I am unable to login any application with my windows phone 7/internet explorer.
I'm also unable to login any development workspace from the same phone. On a desktop I don't have these problems.
It's hard to debug but it looks like pages don't get submitted, after pressing a button nothing happens.
In the end login in is not my biggest problem but I need to be able to submit pages from a browser on a phone (any phone/os if possible).
Anybody had similar experience and/or a solution ?
Hope you can help me out since this is important functionality in some of my applications :(
Just checked : The problem also occurs on other browsers on the same device ( installed Safari as a test ). With IE the device identifies itself as :
Mozilla/5.0(Compatible; MSIE 9.0; Windows Phone OS 7.5; Trident/5.0;IEMobile/9.0; Nokia Lumia 800)

p.s. I did not create any extra (mobile) user interfaces in these applications, they should behave the same on a phone as a desktop so I'm just using the desktop interface.

I have been able to reproduce this using the emulator included in version 7.1 of the SDK and have filed bug #15858237 to track this. I have also been able to narrow this down to some specific code in the apex.submit function, which was added in 4.2 to address a separate bug relating to browser autocomplete support for IE. I have no easy workaround for you currently, but will update the thread with any further progress and also have this added to our [url http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/application-express/apex-42-known-issues-1863578.html]Known Issues page.
In one of your posts, you mentioned that you were able to workaround this by "manually program the submit code via a dynamic action on the button executing PL/SQL which does the submitcode(insert/update or what else is needed) and after that redirect to the wanted page". Can you expand on exactly what you did here?

Lumia 520 - Video playback issues with new IE browser after WP8.1 upgrade
As title says, I'm experiencing many issues in my Nokia Lumia 520 with the new IE browser included in the Windows Phone 8.1 upgrade.
As example, the following page has an embedded video that when I try to play the audio starts but the display comes absolutely black and doesn't respond to the windows button,back,search, anything.... The only way to regain control is pressing the lock/unlock button to restore and reinitiate the browser app:

As this example many other websites with videos content like Coursera or Edx my phone has issues to play the content using this new video player embedded in the IE browser included in Windows Phone 8.1 upgrade (Nokia Cyan).
Notes that before this upgrade I haven't any issue with videos reproduction in the browser part of Windows Phone 8 (Nokia Amber).
There is more people experience this kind of problems with videos in the browser?
This is annoying, I'm enrolled in many MOOC courses and my phone was the ideal device to visualize the videos but after the WP8.1 upgrade this use is impossible.
I had no issues with Youtube website, so I don't know if this is an issue with specific kind of video format like flash(flv),mp4 vs. html5,etc. What I know is that my Lumia with WP8 had no issues with this websites,no matter the full-screen approach, but now with WP8.1 is a painful experience.
I would like to know the experience of other users about this topic.

You need to contact the developers of the game and ask them if they plan on releasing an update that works on lower memory devices. Nokia has no control over this.

Problem with the Update Nokia Lumia 620

The update was initialized on my Nokia Lumia 620 that I bought yesterday. When it started the phone was connected to WiFi. However, after 10 minutes I thought it stuck so I put the battery out and in again. But the update started again. The WiFi was still on. I waited an hour but nothing happened so again I put the battery out and in. Later the WiFi connection was shut down and the update still going. Later I tried to put the battery out and in all over again. I left the phone for the night, it lost all the battery so I plugged the charger in it and then the update started again! I have the 3G internet purchased, so when it's not on WiFi then it should be working. So my question is if the update is really going on (since 4am, that is almost 4 hours till now) or is something wrong. How long can it take on 3G in the situation I described? Will it ever end or should I go and return it to the service for them to fix it? Please help me! It's really urgent!

Update is possible thru' WiFi only.. It may take in excess of an hour for the whole update process to complete ..so once you start it (thru' WiFi) just leave it .. Don't go on removing the battery all the time ...Keep the phone on charging when you update. Additionally you may have settings-->WiFi--advanced ..and select 'Keep WiFi on when screen times out..' .
If you still get the problem visit Nokia Care to get it updated.

How do I sync my iCloud calendar with my Windows Phone?

My personal life is filled with Apple products (iPhone, iPad, Mac.. you name it). My work life is full of Microsoft products. This means that my entire family uses iPhones but I have a Windows Phone. In an effort to simplify life and better organize family activities and obligations, I have set up a shared calendar. Since this is for family purposes and my family all use Apple products, it made sence to set it up in iCloud. The email I use for my Apple ID is my hotmail address.
On my WP, I have set up the hotmail email and the hotmail canendar syncs up without any problem. However, the iCloud caledar does not sync at all. I am able to get the calendar to sync with my outlook on my PC and iPad without any issues but neither of these devices is carried in my pocket and readilly looked at for scheduling and notifications.

Windows phones and iCloud are not compatible I'm afraid. Try going to the iCloud website on your phone, you may be able to view it there.

Is there a way to use Itunes with a windows phone?

I just bought a windows phone and would like to bring in tracks from my Itunes library to use as ringtones. I have 5000+ tracks in my Itunes (for windows) library and refuse to purchase any more as ringtones.
Is there a Itunes for windows phone app I can get? Or is there a good 3rd party software utility that I can use to import tracks to my phone, either using the web; or with a direct connection. My phone has the Zune software and it will not allow tracks within it used as ringtones.

[Windows Phone] Lumia 640 won't connect to Spotify via mobile data

For whatever reason, Spotify refuses to allow me to use it on a mobile network. I see no settings to change this. Under "Settings -> Offline & Sync" it identifies my connection type as "WiFi" and will not change to mobile data, just say "Spotify is offline" and "Spotify cannot be reached on this connection".
What am I missing here? I have no problem streaming anything else (iHeartRadio, if it *ever* works, Xbox Music, Xbox Music Radio, TuneInRadio, MixRadio) except this app - which *should* also be covered by T-Mobile's music freedom. What's going on here? Getting annoying as I primarily use Spotify in the car.

Hello, Vaibhav_16390. Have you already tried the suggestion given by eshiejamz? BTW, are you also using a Lumia 620? You may also try deleting the browser's history. Go to Settings > applications tab > Internet Explorer > delete history. Once done, press and hold both the volume down and the power keys for 10-15 seconds.
Let us know the outcome.

Hi Mattia, Welcome to the HP Support forums. I see that you would like to learn how to print from your HTC Windows phone to your Officejet Enterprise X585 printer. There is not a Windows version of the HP ePrint mobile app or the HP AiO Printer Remote app and I am unaware of any timetable for the release of a Windows version of the mobile apps. Once the ePrint feature on your printer is setup you should be able to email the printer from your HTC Windows phone. I noticed that you are also requesting help on connecting your printer to the Cloud. For this I recommend posting it in the commercial forums. Yosemite/SMS Relay - with a Windows phone?

I currently have Yosemite on my iMac which is SMS relaying from an iPhone 6 Plus on my personal number.
My work phone is a Nokia Lumia (Windows). Is there a way I can either:
- set up multiple Apple ID's on the same user login so that I can use iMessages for both sending from my personal number and work number,
- just make do with switching from one user account to another, ie to different iMessages loads in different user accounts, but somehow getting my 07736 number working so that I can use it with relay (but I don't have the 07736 on an iOS device).
Annoyingly, my 07736 number has an old/bigger SIM card, so I can't temporarily put it in my iPhone 6 Plus so I can register it for SMS relay.

At this time iMessages and the forwarding of SMS only works between iOS iPhones on at least iOS 8.1.1 and Macs running Yosemite.
This is set up when both the iPhone and the Mac are connected to the same Network (AND the iPhone has a carrier signal)
The SMS messages then come to the iPhone which forwards them to the Mac.
The Mac will play "catch-up" each time the iPhone comes back into range and is On.
It does not see the SMS messages at other times.
Ergo: it cannot be set up and then the SIM placed in a non iPhone as this will not be able to forward any new Messages.

Intune trial with sccm & windows phone issues

I've got intune up and working with sccm but I have a couple of issues. Can anyone help with these?
1. I have enrolled 2 phones, Nokia Lumia 520 and Nokia Lumia1320. The company portal is available on both but doesn't work on the 1320, I just get a blank white screen.
2. When I look at the deployment status in SCCM for the portal application it shows 'Host platform not applicable' for both phones even though the application is installed.
