  • Manual/Guide for disassembling Qosmio G10

    Hi,
Just a question. Does anyone have a good link or guide for when you want to open the Toshiba G10? I dont have any more warranty and unforutnately I believe the graphics card is dead, but just want to make sure.
    Thanks,
    Blunder

    Hello,
Ive already performed a disassembling on two Qosmio models. The F15 AV201 and the G15 AV503. All this line is similar in construction.
I will link you to a site with pictures and how to disassemble the Qosmio F15 15(the same as F10). But is much similar to the G10, G15.
    http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptops/Toshiba_Qosmio_F15/open_laptop_case_1.htm
Note: There is no way to change the Nvidia Graphics card because it is a BGA soldering type chip. I believe it is the Fx5700 128MB for your model.
All these models F10, F15, G10 and G15 are with a known problem of design project.
THE GRAPHIC CARD STOPS WORKING WITHOUT NOTICE AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME.
It can take a month, some months, a year or more, but sooner or later it will happen.
Toshiba is exchanging the motherboard with the nvidia FX5700 card for a new one with the go6600 graphic card. And you must upgrade your Notebook BIOS for using the new graphic card.
Well, after technical service it will come with the new BIOS version 2.0 and the label Refurbished.

  • Satellite 2450 -101 Broken Hinge - Disassembly guide required

Hi does anyone know where I can get hold of a disassembly guide to replace my broken hinge? I have the part but want to make sure I strip it down correctly. Any help gratefully received.

    Hi
I would also not recommend removing and opening the notebook by yourself if you have no enough experience. You could damage some parts instead of repairing ;)
Every notebook technician could do this job for some bucks. so asks someone in your area.
By the way; I found an interesting website how replacing Satellite 2435 LCD screen. This notebook is similar to Sat 2450.

  • MSI FR600/FX600 disassembly guide issue.....

I'm not sure how this got messed up but....a few things....
    https://forum-en.msi.com/moderator/assembly-guides/fx600-fr600-disassemble-guide.pdf
That disassembly guide isn't readable. Everything is just garbled and pixelated for me right now. I'm not sure why.
Also, the link TO that assembly guide isn't correct on this page:
    https://forum-en.msi.com/faq/article/fr600-fx600
It links to this address (which is incorrect):
    https://forum-en.msi.com/moderator/assembly-guides/fx600-fr600 disassemble guide.pdf
I'm not sure how to go about fixing that, but I figured I'll copy this to the disassembly guide forum as well...

Yeah, I just re-opened it now and it looks fine. Dunno why it didn't look good the other day.....Thanks Svet!

  • CQ71-401SA disassembly guide or guidance?

    Hi,
My father owns a Compaq Presario CQ71-401SA which he recently dropped, cracking the screen. As I have a few years experience fixing laptops, he asked me to fix it for him. One massive inconvenience though is that he lives in France and wants me to order the new screen without seeing his laptop (as its in France and I am in England) so I can fit it when he visits England in about 3 weeks time.
I've searched the net and thus far have come a cropper on two counts that I hope someone here may he able to help me with.
    1) Is there a disassembly guide available for this model? The newer compaqs are slightly counter intuitive when it comes to taking them apart.
    2) Are all CQ71-401SAs the same? I am trying to buy a replacement screen online and was told to confirm the screen serial number as there are two possible models.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Where to get Disassembly Manual for Toshiba P505D laptops (P505D-S8007)

Is there any place to download the Disassembly Manual for the Toshiba P505D series of laptops (mine is the P505D-S8007).
    Thanks!

I have followed the above referenced video and successfully disassembled the Toshiba P505D-8930.  The video was almost a perfect guide with perhaps one exception.  It shows taking ribbon cables off quickly, and not in any detail.  I almost wrecked on cable so I'd like to pass on what I found.  There are 3 types of cables on the board (my own made upped names):  a plug in, a slide in and a clip in.
The plug in is sort of obvious because the wired portion is inserted into a plug.  You grab the wired plastic portion, pull outwards while wiggling slightly left and right.
The slide in cable has a piece of extra plastic hanging from the ribbon cable.  The plastic is used to pull the cable out of the socket (again wiggling as pulling).  However, be careful.  Look to make sure it is not a plug in or a clip in first.  The piece of extra pulling plastic does not, by itself, mean it is a slide in cable.
Lastly, is the clip cable.  On my board the clip cables have a white socket with a thin black piece of plastic in front.  If you take your fingernail and put in under the black plastic, you can push upwards and the plastic will swivel up 90 degrees to the unclipped position.  You then pull on the plastic tab to remove the cable.
One mistake I made was on a cable that ran from 2 plugs on the far right hand side to one plug in the middle of the board.  The middle, single plug had a black cloth pull tab instead of plastic and I thought it was a slide in.  I pulled on the cloth and it ripped (because it was a plug type, not a slide in).  I think I only damaged the cloth and not the underlying wires but it is why you should check, double check, that it is not a clip/plug before pulling on something.
When following the video, you do not need to remove the LCD screws/screen if you have nothing that needs to be done to it.  The motherboard comes out fine without removing the screen.
The CPU is as I described it in the previous post but the screw to release it has to be turned 180 degrees (the screw will stop turning when fully unlocked or locked.  Turn counterclockwise to unlock, clockwise to lock).
The YouTube video is outstanding but it only shows how to unassembled it, not reassemble it.  You can get the video to run backwards by using freeware called Video Time Reversal 2 located at:  http://www.xander.free.fr/info/Time_Reversal/index_en.html.
Keep track of your screws and where they go.  The screws in the plastic base the motherboard metal casing and the motherboard itself have different sizes.  As you remove screws, note the labeling near the screws (etched in the black plastic base, the metal interior casing or the motherboard).  The larger screws are indicated by" an Arrow symbol on the motherboard, an etched number of M25x6.51 in the metal casing and F8 on the plastic housing.
I know the original post is old and so is the computer.  But it is old stuff that needs work and it is always the hardest to find.  Hope this helps someone.

  • Barebones MS-16F4 937-16F454-017 Disassembly Guide

    Hello,
I'm looking to disassemble the Notebook. Currently using the 16F3 guide already on the list, but I'm having trouble removing the Sensor Panel, the guide shows the GT60 panel and speakers and not the barebones one, but it does not shows "how to" open the Sensor Panel, I'm afraid I might break something if i pulled it wrong.
If possible, can I have a guide for the MS-16F4 Barebones Notebook?
And if it's not in the wrong place, I also want to ask if I can Upgrade my Graphic Card from GTX 770M to GTX 880M? Will it works right away (MB will support, BIOS will support, Heatsink will fit) or do have to upgrade them too?
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Yuri

  • GE70 2PC Disassembly guide?

    Hello,
I would like to add a mSATA SSD to my gaming notebook, but most of all check the cooling paste situation for this machine is seriously overheating.
In order to do this in a fashionable way I could use a disassembly guide: the model # == MS -1759.
The best I've seen is a guide for a MS-1756; is this guide sufficient for the 1759? If not, what major differences can I expect?
Or (I hardly dare ask) is there a guide for the 1759 somewhere lying around..?
    In any case: Many thanks..!
    Best regards, Erik

Thank you so much Svet for the guide
