Disc dosen't insert into superdrive
hi guys i hope you can help me. I looked over different sites but i cannot find a solution to it. anyways when i try to insert any cd/dvd into the superdrive, it dosent go in at all. it pushes the media to the left and it seems like there is something in there that is preventing the disc to go in. obviously i checked and there is nothing in there. most common questions in here at for stuck cds inside the drive and not being able to insert the disc at all. please help thanks

Disc won't insert into Superdrive
I noticed recently that when trying to put a disc into my macbook, it was very hard to insert the disc. It still went in, but took a significant amount of force. Once it get in far enough, the drive started making noise and trying to accept the disc, however it would never actually go in. I took it to the genius bar and was told I needed a new drive, but it was out of warranty. I replaced the drive myself with the exact same model drive (HL-DT-ST DVD+/-RW GSA-S10N) with the guide at iFixIt.com, and the install went smoothly. However when I started the macbook up again, it has the exact same problem as the old drive. This leads me to believe it isn't the drive, but what else could it be? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Regions selection continues to come up every time a disc is inserted into computer
I have an old Mac A1185 that I am trying to fix. The DVD player seems to have a mind of its own. Every time a disc is inserted into the drive the 'region' selection appears - I have selected the appropriate region and then the DVD player closes. Is there a patch or something i would be able to use to stop this from occurring?
Try googling to see what are the available softwares for burning DVDs apart from Nero. You can also post in AUS(Anything Under the Sun) Forum, since many members who are using different DVD writers can give you better suggestions than me .

hello everyone i am trying to Burn A DVD Disc That when inserted appears as Three separate discs such as if it had been partitioned but disk utillity.app can only partion a disc once.
I have a SuperDrive and have used it before so i know it works and that i have one.
If anyone has an idea as to how i may do this i would really appreciate any help you have.

You dvd has been written in sessions (three in this case).
You can copy all the data from the original DVD into one folder and burn the folder onto another DVD.
Do you want to make your life harder? Do the following: start Disk Utility (inside /Applications/Utilities) and click on the new image icon on top left. Pick a name for the image and specify the size (4.7 or 8.0 GB depending on the size of the original DVD as well as the rest of parameters from the drop down menus: encryption-none, format-read/write. Save the image and expand it (open it). Coppy all the required data inside it and burn it. -

I am wondering if Snow Leopard has integrated any tools that can create a .dmg file for the CD or DVD inserted into the system?

EDIT: This is basically how it's done; however, there may be other steps involved, depending on the type of disc you're trying to copy and what your goals are with the .dmg. If you provide more details about what you're trying to achieve, maybe we can help you further.

Five ways to eject a stuck CD or DVD from the optical drive
Ejecting the stuck disc can usually be done in one of the following ways:
1. Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
left mouse button until the disc ejects.
2. Press the Eject button on your keyboard.
3. Click on the Eject button in the menubar.
4. Press COMMAND-E.
5. If none of the above work try this: Open the Terminal application in
your Utilities folder. At the prompt enter or paste the following:
/usr/bin/drutil eject
If this fails then try this:

Disc drive automatically rejects discs after being inserted.
The past few days, whenever I insert a disc for a game into my MacBook Pro 13" (2009 model, purchased in 2010) will reject the disc and spit it back out. To describe the noise it makes, it is the usual start up noise the drive makes, and then it suddenly drops off, then starts back up again, as if the computer is trying again to read it, but cannot. Consistently after 3 'tries' it will reject the disc. It has done this maybe every other time I insert a disc for the past week, but often I will try to roll the dice later in the day and it may or may not work.. Today it has happened every single time I attempt it. Not sure what I should do. Is this something I can adjust from home in preferences or something? I don't want to fiddle with the components or dismantle it myself in any way, so if it needs servicing I will take it in, just need to know where to start from. Anyone else experienced something like this before?
It sounds like the lens on your optical drive is dirty. Use a cleaning DVD or wrap a microfiber cloth around a credit card and carefully slide it in and out a few times.

How can I insert into a table other than the default table in a form

I want to insert into a table with some fields value of a form of another table. I have written insert code On successful submission of that form, but after submit it gives the following error

When do you get this error? Is it while running or while creating the form.
Here is a sample code which inserts a non-database column dummy into a table called dummy. This is done in successful procedure.

Best Practice to fetch SQL Server data and Insert into Oracle Tables
Hello,
I want to read sqlserver data everry half an hour and write into oracle tables ( in two different databases). What is the best practice for doing this?
We do not have any database dblinks from oracle to sqlserver and vice versa.
Any help is highly appreciable?

use a TimerTask to do the following every half an hour:
- open a connection to sql server
- open two connections to the oracle databases
- for each row you read from the sql server, do the inserts into the oracle databases
- commit
- close all connections -

Inserting into a table which is created "on the fly" from a trigger
Hello all,
I am trying to insert into a table from a trigger in Oracle form. The table name however, is inputted by the user in am item form.
here is what the insert looks like:
insert into :table_name
values (:value1, :value2);
the problem is that forms does not recognize ::table_name. If I replace :table_name with an actual database table, it works fine. However, I need to insert to a table_name based from oracle form item.
By the way, the table|_name is built on the fly using a procedure before I try to insert into it.
Any suggestion on how can I do that? My code in the trigger is:
