Disc keeps ejection when trying to burn audio cd

Trying to burn a playlist to audio cd and the disc keeps ejecting.  Have done this with no problem before, but since upgrading itunes have this problem. Any help appreciated

I have the same exact problem trying to burn a disc with iTunes using an external CD/DVD drive. I'm also running OS 10.4.11, but on a 1.83 GHz Intel Core Duo Macbook with 2 GB RAM. My external drive is a Samsung SE-S084C/RSBN.
Has anyone out there found a fix?

  • IPhoto keeps crashing when trying to burn disc

I am trying to burn a cd of pictures (500 mb) and everytime I try to burn iPhoto crashes. It select the pictures, it recognizes the disc, the size is fine and then it crashes. I have a powerbook G4 with 1 gig RAM. I am using iPhoto 5

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Backup the library and try the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your User/Library/Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache files that are located in the User/Library/Application Support/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
    Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select options #1, #2 and #6.

  • Error 4450 when trying to burn audio cd....used to work fine with older version of ITunes....

Is Itunes not compatible with windows cd burner.....

I'm having the same problem using 700mb cd-r, but when I try to burn smaller size playlists (300mb) it works fine. I know that when burning as an audio cd the tracks about double in size, so this makes sense. However when I try to burn a playlist 400mb (ends up as 800mb on audio cd) itunes burns most of the songs but errors out on the last few. My guess is the cd runs out of room because itunes thinks it's a 800mb cd and tries to burn that much to it, when in reality it's only a 700mb cd. itunes will actually try to split a playlist that comes out to 1200mb across 2 cds, but still tries to burn 800mb per cd and errors once the cd runs out of room before it has 800mb on it. There needs to be some way to tell it the size of the cds, or at least an update where they fix the size detection. In the mean time it looks like we're stuck with manually splitting playlists so they're smaller than 350mb (if you have cds a different size than 700mb then just keep the playlist below half the cd's capacity).

  • Corrupted gaps when trying to burn audio CD without gaps

I've tried to burn a mixed song set as a normal audio CD. I had about 20 seperate titles that should play seamless. First I tried Toast 8, setting the gap length to 0 seconds. In Toast I checked the result, and everything sounded perfect. But when I burnt it, the result on CD was somehow corrupted, it seems that at the beginning of the titles one or two seconds are missing. Prefs were set to "Disc-at-once", of course.
The I tried the same with iTunes: Prefs were set to "no gaps", the whole thing sounded well in the playlist, but the resulting CD was again botchy.
I burnt many CDs like that with all my older Macs, this is the first time I have these problems, and the first time I try this on my Alu-iMac with 10.5.
So I really don't know what went wrong. Is it the drive, is it Leopard?
    Please help!

  • I keep getting errors trying to burn AUDIO dvd:

The attempt to burn a disc failed. An unknown error occurred (0xE00002CA)

    Any suggestions? Thx.

iTunes will not burn audio DVDs, only CDs (since iTunes 10.4 iTunes won't even use DVDs for backups). If you wish to burn an audio DVD, you will need to use third-party software. I'm not aware of any current software for Mac that can burn an audio DVD, but there might still be something available.

  • I tunes: when trying to burn a playlist I keep getting the message: the attempt to burn a disc failed. The disc could not be read from or written to. I am using version 12

I tunes: I am using version 12 of I tunes. Ever since downloading it I get the message when trying to burn a playlist it says, The attempt to burn a disc failed. The disc could not be read from or written to.
I uninstalled V-12 and then reinstalled it. This enabled me to burn a disc again but after a couple of tries I received the same error message again. Has Apple put out a fix to this problem that anyone is aware of?
    Thanks.

    Hi rossfrombluffton,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  The resource below provides some general things to consider when burning a disc with iTunes.  I would also try burning a music CD and a data disc from a different application in the Windows OS and trying a different brand CD just to confirm the issue is not with the optical drive.
Can't burn a CD in iTunes for Windows - Apple Support
    http://support.apple.com/en-ae/HT203173
Find out what to do if you can't burn an audio CD using iTunes for Windows. Sometimes an audio disc may not burn as expected. Here are some things to check.
    Update iTunes
Download and install the latest version of iTunes for Windows.Check for unauthorized songs
iTunes will stop burning a disc if you purchased one or more of the songs in a playlist from the iTunes Store and the songs aren't authorized to play on your computer. This message should appear: "Some of the files can not be burned to an audio CD. Do you still want to burn the remainder of this playlist? For more information on why some files can not be burned, click below."
To find out which songs aren't authorized, play each song in the playlist. Songs that play are authorized. Songs that don't play aren't authorized. You'll be asked to authorize any unauthorized songs.Make sure your playlist will fit on a single CD
If there are too many songs in a playlist to fit on a single CD, iTunes should ask if you want to burn multiple discs or cancel the burn. This message should appear: "The songs in this playlist will not fit on one Audio CD. Do you want to create multiple Audio CDs with this playlist split across them? This will require more than one blank CD to complete."
If you click the Audio CDs button, the burn will continue and you'll be asked to insert blank CDs until the playlist is completely burned. If you click cancel, the burn will be canceled.
To make the playlist shorter so that it will fit on a single CD, select a song to remove from the playlist and choose Edit > Clear. Repeat this step until the duration of the playlist is between 60 and 80 minutes. The duration appears at the top of the playlist window. Most CD-R discs can hold 60 to 80 minutes of music.
Check how many times you've burned the playlist
An unchanged playlist that contains songs purchased from the iTunes Store can be burned no more than seven times.Additional steps and submitting feedback

I updated my itunes this morning, and now I keep getting an error message when trying to burn a disc. Any ideas how to resolve this?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • I keep getting a 4000 error when trying to burn discs....only been since the update....Help

Ever since the Itunes update, I keep getting an 4000 error when trying to burn my music to disc.  How do I fix this?

    Zachy,
    It goes something like this...
Put your new drive in the enclosure. Use Disk Utility to format it, etc. I'd give it a slightly different name than the original. Let's say you have Old Disk and New Disk as your drive names. Use Carbon Copy Cloner to copy Old Disk to New Disk. Now you should have an exact copy, which you can test by rebooting and holding down the Option key. Choose New Disk from the list and let it boot, make sure all is well.
Shut down and physically swap the drives. Take Old Disk and put it in the enclosure. Now your system has a new disk with a lot more space and you can reformat your old disk and just use it for large files or whatever.

  • Keep getting error code -50 when trying to burn a disc. how do I solve this?

Does anyone know how to solve the problem of getting "unknown error" code (-50) when trying to burn a disc? I don't know how this happened

    marobinson58 wrote:
keep getting the error code 0x8002006E when trying to burn a DVD.
It's an error thrown by Mac OS X's DiscRecording framework (as opposed to an error communicated by the drive's firmware). The message is (as you probably saw)
"The burn failed because of a medium write error."
Could this be a dirty lens issue in the drive.
I don't think there's one single cause for this error. It might be a dirty lens. It might be something else. Not all recordable optical discs work well with all burners. Try a different brand.

  • Keep getting Disc Burner or software not found when trying to burn a CD

I am not able to burn a playlist to a CD and get an error at the top of Itunes window "Disc Burner or Software Not Found". I have been able to burn CDs in the past with this same computer but had some issues with songs in itunes. Support had me uninstall Itunes and reinstall. I have also uninstalled the device in the device manager and re-installed it. I really don't know what to try except to ask for help here. I would appreciate any direction I can get. I have a Dell desktop XPS running on Windows 8.

    Hi daurel,
Thanks for participating in the Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you receive the error "Disc Burner or Software Not Found" when trying to burn CDs. You mention that you've already tried removing and reinstalling iTunes, and other drivers, and these are good steps.
If the situation continues, be sure to try the tips in this article:

I keep getting unknown error occured(4450) when trying to burn a CD, running Windows Vista...any help would be apprciated.

I had this issue to when trying to burn discs recently. I went into the CD creation settings in iTunes and I "unchecked" the option to "Include CD Text" and after I did that, the disc I had been trying to burn several times with error, actually burned without fail. Give that a try and see what happens.

  • Enocore CS5 error when trying to burn to blue ray disc

My project consists of 4 AVCHD clips imported separately into Encore as timelines and then I deleted the timelines to keep just these assets.  I built a new timeline and added these three clips to this timeline.  Three of the AVCHD clips are on the timeline with a total time of about 3:30.  The fourth is a 30 second clip used for the motion menu  background.  The file size is 22.95 GB.  There are 39 chapters in the project, the top page (page 0) has three buttons linking to chapters 1, 21, and 30 (the start of each of the clips).  The other pages of the menu have 6 video buttons per page linked to chapters.  All of the clips when highlighted will lead to the project setting "Do Not Transcode" (which is what I want) and I am buring this to a 25GB blu ray disc.  When I checked the project everything seemed okay- no error messages.  I then went to build the disc and after about 20 minutes I got the following error message:
    "Blu-Ray Object: "<Menu>NTSC_FISH top menu",Error:"device error",Code: "2",
Note: "Too many primary video streams in clip (Spec Table 9-3,Annex B)"
The menu name is NTSC_FISH topmenu.  Any ideas what the problem is and how I can fix this?

I went to the original motion menu source and saved it as Microsoft AVI (file name:    Premiere pro avi for menu.avi) instead of AVCHD hoping that might help and then brought that file into Encore and linked that as the motion video for the top menu (the other menus don't have a motion background). I tried to animate the buttons for all the menu pages.  When I click on the Premiere Pro avi for menu.avi asset the options show for DVD Transcode automatic and for Blu Ray Automatic (for transcoding).  The file shows as 720X576 and it is 34 seconds long.  The top menu is checked to animate buttons and I can uncheck it if I want, the submenus-start at page 1- have the animate buttons grayed out but checked and I can't uncheck these even if I wanted to. When I tried to burn this to disc, it got further along- burning 13.15 gb to disc and then I got the following error message:
Blu-ray error:File already exists",Code:"6", Note:Video buffer underflows. Total bitrate is too high near time = 1321.253267 seconds-
I am running Windows 7 64 bit, 2.4 ghz processor Quad core, 6 gb of memory and 69.1 gb free on my external hard drive and 29.7 gb free on my c drive.  I have an NVIDIA GE force 8500T card.  Any ideas?

    Hello, cinemann,
    Welcome to the discussions.
+Can you help me?+ Maybe....probably....but you need to give more information about your project.
What are you trying to burn? Movies, photos? From where? iMovie, iPhoto? What versions are you using?
What exactly is the error message? At what point do you get the error message?
What is the 'path' that you checked?
What OS are you using? How much free drive space?
Once you provide more specific information, we can address your problems.
