Disc Player not reading CD

Greetings,
I am looking for a solution. Prior to getting my iMac, I had a Windows based computer. I copied my photos to CD's from that old Dell PC. I wanted to look at some of these older Photos from us and also some which other people sent me. I am pretty sure most are JPEG files. But when I put the CD's in, it just makes a noise as if it is trying to read and never shows up on my desktop. Finally it just spits them out again.
Is this a possible problem between Mac and Windows? And could someone point me in the right direction of solving this issue? I appreciate any input! I would like to have these files accessible to copy onto an external drive.

I did check within System Preferences and the pop up menu was already selected to "OPEN iPhoto" WHEN YOU INSERT A PICTURE CD.
I tried again with CD's that I recall having viewed before and the player just keeps making the beeping sound about 4 times and then ejects the CD.
I am starting to suspect the player is no longer able to read. Admittedly, I have not used it much, so it cannot be overuse. But perhaps not using it enough?

Burned DVD issues in DVD player not reading or music issues stop and start

I'm a PC converted to a MAC (less than a month) and love it so far. I have been able to create and burn a DVD. The problem I'm having is one DVD player will not read the DVD (Hitachi). The other DVD player will play it, but the music stops and starts when it transitions (twirl) to another picture (Panasonic DVD/VHS combo). I'm using a DVD R Memorex. Neither one of the player are new. Would love to use this to make the Grandparent's a DVD of the grandchildren from birth to present as Christmas present. What do I need to use or do to be able to watch on any DVD player as well as the computers?

Welcome to apple discussions. Try using 99 photos / less to avoid issues with audio fades / drops. Also do a search for Memorex on this forum and you'll see it's not the first choice of dvd's for most users. Instead try Verbatim, Maxell, or Taiyo Yuden and burn at 4x from a disc image for best results. Wish you luck and feel free to post back with results or any further questions.

TOSHIBA Blu-ray Disc Player not compatible with USB speakers

I have a P850, using Logitch Z305 USB speakers. The speakers work fine with all other multimedia software such as WMP, iTunes or MPC, but not with TOSHIBA Blu-ray Disc Player. The Toshiba program either won't work or will crash if the speakers are plugged in. Is anyone aware of a way to fix this?

This Logitech speakers are plug and play device that uses standard driver and are installed as any other plug and play device. I dont have it but I saw interesting movie on You Tube about it.
To be honest I dont understand why it cannot works with TOSHIBA Blu-ray Disc Player. I think you are the first one who has reported about this issue.
Problem is that Toshiba doesnt support third part software or hardware so it is not easy to find solution for this.
I really hope there are other users who have fixed it or can offer some useful tip for this pretty strange issue.

CD/DVD player not reading

I have a Satellite Pro C650-EZ1250D and a month ago my CD/DVD player stop reading media. I just was on the MicroSoft Windows fixz it website and downloaded two different fixit files and after running them both I received the same message:
This troubleshooter is invalid or might have expired. If the file name was changed when the troubleshooter was saved, the troubleshooter is rendered invalid and cannot be run.

Attach a picture of the message you get when you use the Fix it there.

CD/DVD disc player not auto reading when disc inserted

CD-DVD drive not working properly . Will not auto read when a disc is inserted to play music even tho Windows Media Player is designated as the auto player. Have checked the DVD-CD disc drive in device manager and it says it is working properly and there are no updates at this time available!

I understand the computer cannot read CDs. To assist you properly, I do require the following information:
1. The computer's model number. If you require assistance locating this information, please reference this website: Guide to finding your product number
2. The computer's operating system. If you require assistance locating this information, please reference this website to determine your Windows operating system.
3. Does this occur on certain programs, or all programs?
4. Have you installed any new hardware, software or drivers on this computer, before the issue appeared?
Additionally, if the issue just began occurring, I would perform a system restore. I want you to bring the computer back to the earliest restore point possible, in an attempt to dodge whatever caused the issue. Here is a document on how to perform a System Restore: System Restore

DVD player not reading discs. Any DIY advice?

Clicking sound indicates optic lens is trying to focus on disc, 2 DIY options, try both. First make sure discs are clean & have no finger prints or smudges on them, second, if the lens is dusty you can open the drawer and shoot some air duster striaght in the center (the compressed air duster you find in the computer dept. for cleaning keyboards & dusting screens). You can put the straw in the opening about 1 inch, directly in the center, make sure the can is upright. If this doesn't work, it might be time for service.

DVD Player not reading CD or DVD

I have a Satellite A665-56093 laptop, and the DVD/CD player was working, and now it won't read CD's or DVD's. The model on the drive (according to device manager) is TSSTcorp CDDVDW TS-L633Y.
When I put a CD or DVD in you can hear the computer trying to read it, but then after a minute or so, it just ejects and asks for a valid disc. I can see that the drive exists in Windows Explorer, but can not see the contents of the disc.
It appears that a data disc (software install) is read fine. I tried updating the drivers for the Drive, but it says that they are up to date.
Any Ideas? I am just stuck...

Anyone find a fix to the tsstcorp TS-L633Y reading only 1 out of 3 DVD movies during the past 2 months? I've searched high and low, but can't find a fix. It spins the movie and kicks it out asking for a valid disk. I uninstalled the driver, reinstalled, and nothing. I've Googled and googled, but nothing comes up to help me sort this problem out. The Redbox DVD's work in my sister's HP laptop. It's a Samsung problem in my Toshiba notebook as it's a Samsung drive with Korean electronics not being fully perfected yet to the Japanese level of perfection in my experience. The player seems to be find and plays some DVD's and all CD's. I didn't notice the problem until I started renting Redbox back in late January. I thought for a while the DVD's were requiring validation that they were valid copies, but that's not the case. It's some kind of software problem, but the system says the device is working fine.
Eludes me????

Disc player not working

Hi, I am new to Mac products and have just tried to use the dvd player for the first time. I have two problems. First, I inserted a CD and received the following message "Supported disc not available". Then when I clicked on eject nothing happened. Any suggestions, please?

To eject the disc, restart the computer then press and hold the trackpad down.

Im running windows 7 64 bit. installed itunes 10.5.4.1 and now cds will not import or play. If i have the cd in the drive and then open itunes it will importor play but after removed the next disc will not read. the system has passed the cd/dvd test.

Cd import/play problem. Downloaded itunes 10.5.. Cd will play and import when disc is present when itunes is opened. If itunes is open cd will not import or play. Itunes passed the cd/dvd test.

I ve tried completely removing itunes and reinstalling. also unchecked autocorrect and find art and track names which did not work as well. Any ideas of how to fix this?

Also dell has included a temp read in the dell support center. temp is 30 right now. Also listed was the max temp. in the pcs lifetime as 43.

Adobe CS3.3 update discs will not read

I have a brand new iMac running 10.5.2 and the update discs for CS3.3 design standard (from CS2) will not even read in the computer. I've tried three different sets of software and not one disc in any pack will even show up in the computer. Other discs (music, software and dvd movies) show up with no problem. I called tech support and received a new set of discs today. same problem. please help.

Buy a firewire DVD drive and get back to work. I have a new iMac and use a LaCie Porsche external DVD drive since it is faster and frankly a lot easier to use on the desktop than the slot is.

Flash Player not read.

First let me start that I do NOT know much about computers. Here goes. Adobe flash plyer works on only severa sites. I can watch Hulu fine, but when I go to Youtube I get a notification I need to install Adobe Flash Player. But it is there!!!! Why can Hulu see it is on my computer and use it, but Youtube for some reason does not see it to use it. I have uninstalled flash player several times and reinstalled. SOME times this works and youtube is ok for a day or so, then bang Youtube starts telling me I need to install flash player. This is driving this non computer person crazy!!! FYI I have a Dell laptop with Windows 7. Thank you so much for your help!!!

I have the same problem. I used to have Adobe Flash Player 11.2.202.235 and I upgraded to the audio-chopping 11.3.300.268 before reverting back, but now YouTube won't let me play without upgrading to the appropriate, most recent version! Somehow version 11.2.202.235 just won't work on Firefox 14, so I upgraded to the horrible, choppy, most recent version! When will these issues be fixed?!

Need Help with Kontakt2 player - not reading Garritan GPO files in Pro 7

I upgraded to Logic Pro 7 from 6 and messed up one of my libraries. First, the Kontakt player did not even show up in my pull-down menu, so, I upgraded to K2. Now, the player loads but it tells me that my GPO (Garritan) patches can't be used. What is going on? Anybody? Please help. Thank you.
P.S. I upgraded to 7.2.3 and that did not do it.

The problem is that Kontakt plugin has no files in it
Kontakt has a file browser, which lets you access all the files on all your disks. It also has a comprehensive database function.
You do not need to put files in any particular place, you just need to navigate to where your files are, and load them. If you don't know how to use the disk browser, then read that section in the manual.
All you sample/instrument/multi files on your computer won't magically show up in this window, you need to do some file management or point the browser to the files you want to load.
I get the message the files cannot be used.
This is probably related to the issue I mentioned i my first response above.
Seriously - this is not a Logic issue, it is an NI one - you will get much better help in the NI forums, or GPO support than here.

The PSE 12 DVD disc does not read. I am using windows7.

I purchased Photoshop elements 12 from a retailer. Other DVDs read correctly. Could this disc be corrupted? Can I download PHotoshop elements using the serial number on the DVD box.

Download and install the PSE12 trial version from the Adobe website.
Enyter your serial number to license it.

I'm being told that I've inserted a blank DVD. The same DVD contains videos and opens fine on other MacBooks.
