Disc Drive wont Load Leopard DVD

Got round to buying Leopard this week and inserted the disc only for my Macbook to make some rumbling noises and eject the disc. I was wondering if there are any solutions to my problem or if anyone else with a Macbook is suffering from this problem.

I am having the same problem with a replacement MBP 2.4GHZ which arrived today from Apple. I have a Leopard family pack which has no problems on 3 other macs. The Leopard "CPU Drop-in DVD" from the DOA computer and this replacement are all summarily spit out by this MBP??? No dirt or scratches involved. This computer has passed an extended Apple Hardware test. Will let you know what Apple Care has to say. After falling victim to the unresponsive keyboard issue on the first MBP, I am not a happy camper to say the least.

Satellite L10-151 wont load XP or recovery disc

I have a Satellite L10-151 model and it wont load windows. Every time I try and start it, it says operating system not found. When I put the Toshiba recovery discs in that came with the notebook and I also bought a windows XP disc that wont load either.
I have also taken the hard drive out and put another one in and it works fine so it must be the hard drive but dont no what.
I have also tried installing windows 7 that doesnt work either :s
Please help? The HDD has everything on it.

In my opinion the CD/DVD drive cannot read the inserted disk and therefore its not possible to boot and to install the new OS.
It could be an problem with the CD/DVD drive or the ODD is not able to handle this one recovery disk
Try to copy/burn the recovery disk using another computer.
Possibly the notebooks CD/DVD drive would be able to handle this second disk and you could be able to install the Win XP
From my experience this helps in many times especially if the issue is related to the ODD

I purchased adobe photoshop Elements and premiere 13 for windows. I received the disc, loaded it into my dvd drive and it wont load.
I tested the drive with another dvd and it plays fine. any suggestions?

Start up using your original install discs by inserting the disc and holding the C key while rebooting. Run Disk Utility to repair the drive and restart. If everything goes ok run Software Update again.

Z87-GD65 BIOS Wont Load

I was working my OC and my BIOS A wont load, i had to switch to BIOS B so my question is how do i reset BIOS A if i can't even get it to load up. I cant find a bios reset switch anywhere in the manual.

Ibook g4 wont load

hi my ibook g4 with lepoard 10.5.8 wont load up,when i press the power button the fan wisses and the chime goes then the apple logo come up with the colour spinny thing and thats it stays on that till you force it to shut down with the power button,any ideas

You may be able to get your machine to start up further, by holding
the Shift key down immediately after the boot chime and keep the
key held down until you get a login window; you'd apply the admin
user password at that point to continue startup into SafeBoot mode.
When running in Safe boot mode, you could run Disk Utility (see GO
in the main Finder window; locate Utilities folder> Disk Utility) and on
the Macintosh HD as seen in the utility's sidebar, chose to run the
'repair disk permissions' selection. When done, note messages; and
quit the Utility. Then, restart the computer to see if it can start normally.

The actual computer specifications, RAM installed; & HDD capacities of
both free space and used space (total capacity, vs. percentage free) so
as to see if the drive is actually getting too full. The problem may be in
more than one area; given it is an older computer and probably worn.
Chances are the computer could have most anything going on in it; since
it is several years old and portable computers with runtime on their parts
would tend to need a new replacement hard disk drive installed. That also
means a new installation of the system from scratch on a prepared hard
disk drive. There are other means to do all of this, if or when needed.

Your PowerPC G4 series iBook G4 is at least 5 years old, so it may
be due for some replacement parts; to include a new hard disk drive.
And if it does not have the most RAM installed it can run, that can be
of help in multi-tasking apps in OS X. The RAM upgrade slot, under
the keyboard, is also where in older G4 models is where the wireless
card would be located. However, last model iBooks had their card on
the logicboard; and also used a different version of RAM (PC2700.)

Wont load Stuck at Apple

I got a ibook and it had a few versions of OS on it and i loaded one up. The cd-drive is broken. Now, when started up the screen opens to the apple, it moves down maybe a centember and looks like it locks up and then stays like that. It wont load further. Is there anyone that has seen this before and would know what to do?

IMac wont load install DVD 10.5 on iMac g4

I have older iMac g4, which i've kept for design-reasons - its nice to look at.
I bought it as demo-model from a dealer when the model just had gone out of production.
It runs OSX 10.3.9.
I wanted to upgrade to 10.5, so I bought an original second-hand DVD;
"MAC OS Leopard - Install DVD - Version 10.5 - 2Z691-6037-A" (black-blue color; NOT grey)
It wont load at all. It just runs in the drive for 10 - 15 seconds and then autoejects. Same thing if I restart pressing "c". At no time does the disc appear on the desktop or a start window opens. Just nothing.
The CD drive works ok - can read and burn.
I tried to start the Install DVD in the new iMac and the iBook; both macs can read the dvd and opens the install window.
What should I do ?

It sounds like a problem with the Mac not being able to read the disc rather than the disc being an upgrade-only edition etc as it won't even read it - do other DVDs (not just CDs, as sometimes a drive will partly die and be able to read CDs but not DVDs, or vice versa) definitely work in the drive?
I think a few of the early iMac G4s came with only a CD-RW drive ie not compatible with DVDs at all, so again testing another DVD will show if you have one of those. If this is the case you could try using Target mode to install using the DVD drive in another Mac, if you don't want to replace/upgrade the drive in the G4.

Reinstall OS X, either from disc or a recovery partition. You don't mention which version of OS X you're running so I don't know which it will be.

My app store wont let me search for apps it wont load anything

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. Head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (Although the procedure is for Vista and 7 and you've got XP, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

In trying to include what information all that I could I should have specified I DON'T KNOW THAT IT WAS DEFINATELY JAILBROKEN when I took it to the apple store they told me there's no way for them to tell if it was jail broken or not. I'm only going by what ppl have told me COULD HAVE BEEN DONE TO THE PHONE. With that said the only thing I know for sure is that the apple tech at the Genius Bar told me that someone took control of my root menu in February & I've had no control of my phone since. I asked him how to regain control & how he knew his exact words were "oh that is out of our scope of capabilities here at this level & you would need an apple engineer to fix it". I said ok then how do I get an apple eng then? He laughed & said you can't!!!! To which I was furious I came home & called apple requesting to speak w/the fraud dept to file a report they said we don't have a fraud dept!! So after a 45 mn phone call again I left w/no answers.

I DON'T HAVE THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS TO SPEND HIRING AN ATTORNEY & Although I appreciate your suggestion I fail to how an attorney would be able to facilitate in any way since there's no suspect. I cannot prove that it's him doing it so I certainly can't pursue legal action w/no proof & no money. :'((

I was looking more for a TECHNICAL way to avoid this happening w/a new phone should I buy one or trying to get them out of my phone now! Such as installing some kind of software protection?? Someway to clear out the entire phone (other than factory reset which was done 10 x's w/no success, etc. if this person got in then there HAS TO BE A WAY OF GETTING HIM OUT, right????
