Disclosure tab?

My print pop-up menu does not show printer name nor preset, and thus, there is no "disclosure tab" beside the printer. I can only print the whole document whether I'm using internet, word proessing, or Acrobat reader, since I am not given any option. I checked the printer set up through Finder, and I can't find the solution for this problem. It is same with two of my printers, one HP and the other Canon. What did I do wrong?

I don't think you did anything wrong. It sounds like your core printing system has a problem and needs resetting.
Open System Preferences > Print & Fax. Move your mouse over the printers list on the left. Hold down the Control key then click. A box showing 'Reset printing system' will appear. Release the Control key, if you still have it held down, and click the Reset box. This will delete your printer queues but should also get the print dialog working correctly again.
If that doesn't help then download a utility called Print Therapy from www.fixamacsoftware.com.

Installing OSX 10.4 from scratch??

Hi All,
Recently I bought a new hard drive, and have copied all my files i want to keep onto DVD's. I would like to start from scratch again with the new hard drive, does anyone have any tips/instructions on how to install OSX 10.4? I have the 2 startup disks that came with my MacBook. Is it just these 2 i need to install the whole system? Do I need to partition the drive or anything?

although I am having a bit of trouble with this:

I can't see the disclosure tab? What is it you mean by that??
The way I have understood doing this installation so far, is this. Is this right?:
1. on inserting the disc, and selecting the language, i go onto disk utility.
(according to http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/partitioningtiger.html , i don't need to go onto the erase tab, as 'If you are going to partition your new drive you can skip down to the Partition section below, as when you partition your hard drive, you will reformat the drive during the partition process.' Is this right?)
2. i go onto partitioning, select my one partition i want to make, select it from the big box to the left, click to format as mac os extended (journaled)
3. click the partition button, and wait for this to finish.
4. carry on installing tiger as i've finished formatting/partiting.
does this sound right? if not, where have i got it wrong, and what do i need to change?

Repeatedly installing flash player

I know this problem probably pops up all the time on here, but I have not been able to find a solution. I'll start with the fact that I have never had any problems with my macbook since the day I bought it a year and a half ago. Everything has been in perfect working order. However, a month ago I was prompted to update my flash player, and since then the flash has not been functioning on Safari, which is my main browser. Any website that I visit that contains flash player content will prompt me to get the latest version of flash. I have done everything I can think of and have tried every solution I could find on the internet. I have downloaded the uninstaller and the up to date installer from the adobe and apple websites countless times. I always make sure that I have everything closed while installing and I restart the laptop and run repair disk permissions. I downloaded Firefox the other day and the flash seems to be in working order there, but still nothing in Safari. I'm not sure where I'm going wrong here. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

First, try Safari Maintenance
If that doesn't help, try Open DNS Click the computer icon and follow the instructions.
Make sure there is sufficient disk space on your MacBook.
Right or control click the MacintoshHD icon. Click Get Info. In the Get Info window you will see Capacity and Available. *Make sure you always have a minimum of 10% to 15% free disk space at all times.*
Open Safari/Preferences - Security and deselect: Safari. 'Warn when visiting a fraudulent website"
Check ~/Library/Internet Plugins. If there are any files in the internet plugins folder, move them to the Trash. They may be incompatible with Flash.
Repair disk permissions.
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.
Go to your Applications folder and right or control click Safari, then click "Get Info". In the Get Info window, make sure Safari isn't running in Rosetta. (If necessary, click the disclosure tab so it's facing down under General).

If you are running anti virus software on a Mac, it can cause more problems then not. Disable or delete it from your system.

Programmatically Controlling tab disclosure

Hi ,
I have master-multiple child relationship. In the jsf page master is displayed as Table and the children are displayed in tabs(2 tabs) below the table.
I am using af:panelTabbed -> af:showdetail item to achieve this.
When the user enter data to one of the child (say child1) and tires to click on the second child tab I have to force the user to save the data before moving to another child.
To achieve this I need to know the tab name and control the disclosure of the second tab.
How to achieve this?

The disclosure event is for each tab , so this will not tell me the state of the tabs if i am moving from tab1 to tab2--
like tab1 disclosed=false and tab2 disclosed=true.
I saw the UIShell pattren and there is TabContext method which gives the context,
is there anything similar for paneltabbed from where i can get tab states of all in the paneltabbed children.

Dynamic tabs not firing disclosure event

Hi,
I am using a af:panelSpringboard with showDetailItems dynamically created using af:iterator bound to collection model.
Lets consider each element in the collection model is referred by variable "row". I see that tabs getting created properly with text from iterator element (say, #{"row.name"}).
I have added sub-component (tree) under showDetailItem. I notice that only the first tab (first to get disclosed) is getting disclosed properly with tree getting rendered.
I have disclosureListener on the showDetailItem which I expect to get fired upon disclosure of each tab in the tabs list.
But subsequent click on any other tab (showDetailItem) does not seem to fire disclosure Event nor the child components of the tab (tree) is getting rendered properly.
Is this due to component id conflict on showDetailItem?

How to intercept tab disclosure in javascript

I am trying to write some ADF and javascript code that intercepts a tab disclosure event, and pops up a message that says when the tab is dirty, as the user do they wanna save first.

I've implemented this the way that he has listed. However, I'm getting a weird behavior. When I click on another tab, I get the popup and my javascript is getting called, but the tab I'm switching to is still getting disclosed. Based on the document, the tab shouldn't get disclosed after I cancel the discloseEvent in my javascript.
I currently have something like this..

How tio navigate to parent task flow from Tab disclosure

Hi all ,
We have requirement is that ,
page contains two tabs
tab 1( Flow1 and Flow 2) user can navigate back and forth between flow 1 and flow 2.
tab2
from tab 1 user can navigate to flow 2 from flow 1 , if user navigates to flow 2 and modify some data and switch to tab 2 (click on tab 2) a warning message displayed to user stating that unsaved will be lost .
click in "Yes" user will be switched to tab 2.
from tab 2 if user click on tab1(switch back to tab1) , my requirement is that user should be navigated back to tab1 (flow1) not to flow 2.
Please suggest how can i implement this functionality.

are you using the uncommitedDataWarning="on" property to check for dirtyness? if so... can you do that programatically by calling
ViewPortContext.isDataDirty();and based on this navigate back to the corresponding flows..

Making showDetailItem disclosure dependant on URL param breaks tab content

Hello,
I'm trying to achieve URL parameters control over my application state.
As soon as I can't use bugged bookmark page property, I'm trying some workarounds.
One of the things I've tried led to an unexpected behavior.
The use case is to open a certain tab of panelTabbed with an URL.
I've added disclosed="#{param.tab=='2'} to the second tab. In the tab there is a table in the upper section and a region with a form in the lower section.
There's a partialTrigger from the region to the table so when I run the application and select a table row, the form shows it.
But if I run the application with ?tab=2 parameter, partialTrigger doesn't work any more and the form only shows the first row whatever I select in the table. Also there's a af:showDetail which you can't disclose.
If I set the table contentDelivery=whenAvailable, the data wouldn't be shown at all.

Your scenario is interesting. Since your error is 401, this is related to a credential issue. There was a bug in PI such that once you use dynamic configuration for your URL, the username needs to be also included in the dynamic config. The technical name for the username in the UDF is TAuthKey. You set the password in the SOAP receiver communication channel by going Advanced Tab -> Variable Transport Binding -> View Authorization Keys.
Standard SOAP sender in PI requires you to still provide a username/password even if you are using SSL. Make sure that the username is existing in PI and has the necessary authorization. For now, try inputting your PI username and password.

Panel Tab disclosure issues

Hi Experts,
JDEV Version :1.1.1.5
DynamicShell Tab A has a grid with some records.
User clicks on the hyperlink of one of the records available in the grid.
Task Flow A is invoked which opens a new DynamicShell Tab B.
Task Flow A has the following PanelTab with
i) ShowDetailItem A
ii) ShowDetailItem B
iii) ShowDetailItem C
iv) ShowDetailItem D
v) ShowDetailItem E
ShowDetailItem C is disclosed by default when the TASK FLOW A is loaded in DynamicShell Tab B
Problem Statement:
1) Now the user manually clicks on ShowDetailItem A .
2) ShowDetailItem A has a grid with some records.User clicks on the hyperlink of one of the records.
3) When clicked on hyperlink the same TASK FLOW A is invoked.
4) As the user is already in that TASK FLOW A( no new Dynamic shell Tab is created), the screen is just refreshed and control stays on ShowDetailItem A.
Expected :
As the user is already in that taskflow when clicked on the hyperlink in ShowDetailItem A, ShowDetailItem C should be disclosed but that is not happening

Safari wont let me open links in new tabs anymore? Please help!?

On my Macbook, I'm using Safari as my browser.
Everything was fine until this morning; suddenly Safari will not give me the option of opening links from one page in another tab in the same window.
For example, if I'm browsing on EBay and want to open a search result in a new tab of the same window, usually when I would right click on my track pad or magic mouse, it would say "Open link in new tab" or "Open link in new window". However, now when I right click, it just says, "Open link" "Open link in new window" and "Copy link".
I haven't changed any settings or anything on my Macbook whatsoever in the last 3 hours (at least that I'm aware of). Can anyone please tell me how to get this back to normal?
Also, it seems that when I right click anywhere on a page, I only see the options "back" and "reload" whereas before there was "view source" etc.
Please help!

Go here for trouble shooting 3rd party plugins or input managers which might be causing the problem. Safari: Add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues
Since you are running Snow Leopard, *make sure Safari is opening in 32-bit mode, not 64*. Right or control click the Safari icon in the Applications folder, then click: Get Info In the Get Info window click the black disclosure triangle next to General so it faces down. Select 32 bit mode. Also, (in that same window) *make sure Safari is NOT running in Rosetta.*
  Web pages now include a small icon or 'favicon' which is visible in the address bar and next to bookmarks. These icons take up disk space and slow Safari down. It is possible to erase the icons from your computer and start fresh. *To delete Safari's icon cache using the Finder, open your user folder, navigate to ~/Library/Safari/ and move this file "webpageIcons.db to the Trash.*

Why do I continuously have pop-ups in new tabs in Safari?

Hi everyone!
I recently had a lot of my settings changed for Safari, due to my little brother's actions and I don't know why I'm suddenly getting all kinds of pop-ups... For example, whenever I click a link or right before I click a link, a new tab pops up and it can be about the mac or windows cleaning programs... Or inappropriate sites. Like. What, why? I don't know why it's doing all of this, but my brother tore my keyboard keys off my macbook pro's keyboard and he messed with a few other things. Also, whenever I view words and what not, certain words are underlined and happen to have an additional hover-over window in it. It's really annoying and I don't know why it's happening. Whenever I turn on Javascript, it happens, but when I turn it off, it's okay. But a lot of the sites I go on like social media say that I need Javascript to run on my computer, but a whole bunch of stuff comes with it... I don't think Java did this before, but it's super annoying. I really don't know if Java was on, before the accident with my bro. Also, I'd like to mention that several of my keys on my keyboard can't go back in. I literally think that I have general computer issues, but I don't have 2 grand in the back of my pocket to just whip out. So please help me with this :/

Adware often will utilize JavaScript. If you turn off JavaScript, you eliminate the symptoms without removing the cause.

How to refresh a region during tab change

Hi All,
In my page I have two tabs.There is one region each in each tab.
Tab 1 region is on top of Parent View Object and Tab 2 region is on top of Child view object. Relationship is one-to-one.
In tab 1 region, If populate some attributes <of ParentVO> then, those attribute values will be copied to the Child View Object by calling an AM method from the tab disclosure listener.
When I switch from tab 1 to tab 2 for the first time all the populated attributes < Parent VO in Tab1 > are getting copied to child VO and I can see those values in tab 2 <UI> .
But after that when I switch back to Tab 1 and change some attributes and go to tab 2 then, the newly populated attributes are not shown in the second tab.
But If I go to the next page and come back to the same page then in the second tab I can see all the newly populated attributes..
refreshCondition of the task-flow is ifNeeded.
In my disclosure listener I am trying to refresh the region binding programmatically. <AdfFacesContext.getCurrentInstance().addPartialTarget(regionbinding)>.
But the region in tab 2 is not getting refreshed.
Please Help...

Earlier I had tried #{true} as refreshCondition. But that didn't help. And I had tried changing an input parameter value by calling a bean method [toggleValue: which will toggle the parameter RefreshFlag ]
and keeping the refresh Condition as ifNeeded. But in this case it didn't work. Earlier I had tried this approach and it was always working.
Now I will try with the option you gave me.. Calling refresh method of UIXRegion. The method seems to be the exact one which I was looking for from the doc.
The documentation says...

public void refresh(javax.faces.context.FacesContext context)
Refreshes this region's model. This method calls RegionModel.refresh(javax.faces.context.FacesContext), and adds this region as a PPR target. This method must only be called during PhaseId.INVOKE_APPLICATION phase. A RegionNavigationEvent is always queued.
So can I call this method on a tab disclosure listener..?
Or Do I need to check for the Phase and call this method.. It would be great if you can make it a bit more clear.
Do I need refresh or refreshCondition along with this approach..

Video corruption when detaching tabs after updating to Snow Leopard 10.6.3

Hi,
I began experiencing video corruption in Safari 4.0.5 right after I installed the Snow Leopard 10.6.3 update yesterday. The problem arises every time I detach a tab and it affects only the browser window that's detached, not the main one.
FireFox 3.6.2 is unaffected.

Tabs won't show up in the bottom half of my page

Hi everyone,
I'm trying to make a page split in 2 parts, a top one and a bottom one. I don't want the top one to ever change but I want 2 tabs on the bottom one. When I click on a tab, I want the bottom part to change to something else. I used the option to show the tab at the bottom of the page but it stays at the top of it. Anyone knows how to fix that?

It happened with several pdf forms that I created yesterday with logos. The logo quality is fine as we use them for print ready jobs. The first version of the pdf document saved fine and the logo was present when it generated as a pdf and as a web form. I had to make text edits and after that the logo would show on the web form version, but not on the pdf version.

Spry Tabbed Panels- Open link on click

I am completely new to Dreamweaver and web design in general so please bear with me. I have created a tab menu using Spry Tabbed Panels but dont know how to make it so once a tab has been clicked an html file (ex. tab1.html which is saved on my computer) opens in the content portion, not open a new window.Can anyone post a tutorial or if its simple enough, post some directions?

Spry Tabbed Panels are not a "menu" per se, but a series of panels, all but one of which remain hidden until their tab is clicked. Tabbed Panels is a Spry "disclosure" widget. All the content may actually exist on the same page as the Tabbed Panels widget, or you can use <iframe></iframe> to 'surface' other pages in your Tabbed Panel Content divs.
As it sounds as if you want to use the <iframe> approach, here's how:

You can also omit the frameborder="0" if you want to keep the default look of an iframe. Remember to give both a height and a width to your iframes. Test them in several different browsers (or BrowserLab) to make sure they look the way you want.
