How to Disconnect Spotify from Facebook
This is not an officially supported Spotify workaround.
It seems to be a common request on the community to want to disconnect accounts from Facebook.
If you wish to do this, then follow the instructions below closely.
Please note: It is highly recommended that you log in and cancel your subscription IF and ONLY IF you are planning to deactivate your Facebook and you have Spotify account created with Facebook , as once you have done that, you may not be able to log in to cancel. You may also want to log into your online profile and set all the email notifications to "Never" to stop Spotify sending you emails on that account.
This serves as a "Do It Yourself" guide since it is the fastest way to disconnect from Facebook. If you have a premium/unlimited subscription or would rather have someone at Spotify assist you in doing this, don't hesitate to get in touch with customer services instead using the online contact form.
    1.  Check your account type.
The method of how to disconnect from Facebook depends on how you originally created your account.
If you have a dedicated Spotify username and password, then go to step 2a.
If you created your Spotify account using Facebook, and therefore log in using your Facebook email address and password, go to step 2b.
If you log in using Facebook normally, but are unsure if you created your Spotify account using Facebook or a Spotify username, log into your online profile using your Facebook details. If you see a username consisting of ten digits you're likely using a Spotify account created through Facebook. and need to go to step 2b.
    2a. Disconnect from Facebook.
Since you have a dedicated Spotify account, disconnecting from Facebook is easy.
    In the desktop client:
Windows - Go to Edit > Preferences > Social Network > Disconnect from Facebook.
Mac - Go to Spotify > Preferences > Social Network > Disconnect from Facebook.
Once you have done that, your Spotify account is no longer linked to Facebook, you need not continue any of the steps below.
You may find due to data caching in the client, that you still see Facebook information (such as the People list) hanging around, a quick clean reinstallation of the application should fix that for you.
If you can't see the option to connect/disconnect, then you are logged into a Spotify account created with Facebook not a dedicated Spotify one.
    2b. Create a new account.
Disconnecting from Facebook is not possible if you have a Spotify account created with Facebook.
You can obviously select not to share your activity on Facebook from the Preferences menu, however, if you wish to completely disconnect then read on.
If you wish to stop using your Spotify account created through Facebook, then you will need to create a new dedicated Spotify account from the signup page which should now be available in all launch countries. Once you have done that, make sure to note down your new Spotify username and password and keep them in a safe place. Continue to step 3.
The easiest and quickest way to move your playlists from one account to another is explained in steps 3 and 4. Since there is no way to directly transfer playlists from one account to another, this process subscribes your new dedicated Spotify account to the playlists on your old Spotify account created via Facebook.
    3. Backup Playlists
The easiest and quickest way to backup your playlists is to sign into your Spotify account created with Facebook and simply drag and drop them from the left sidebar of the desktop client onto your desktop, or into a folder. This will store links to those playlists locally.
    4. Restore Playlists
Log into your new dedicated Spotify account, created in step 2b.
Now, drag and drop your playlists from your desktop (or folder) into the Spotify client, and they should reappear. These playlists won't be editable, since they are still "owned" by your old account. However, once you have got them into the client, if you want to make them editable you just need to make a new Playlist (File > New Playlist) and then copy and paste all the tracks from the uneditable one into the new one. You can also drag a subscribed playlist to the "New Playlist" button which will instantly copy the playlist and make it owned by you (Thanks Stupify for this awesome tip!)
The fastest way to highlight all the tracks is to click on the playlist, press Ctrl/Cmd+a and then press Ctrl/Cmd+c to copy them. Then navigate to your new playlist and press Ctrl/Cmd+v to paste. Continue to step 5 (if applicable).
    5. If you have an unlimited/premium subscription…
There is no easy way for you to transfer an unlimited/premium subscription from one account to another.
The simplest and fastest way to get back up and running is to simply unsubscribe from the subscription page on your old Spotify account created using Facebook and then resubscribe on your new account. I would recommend you cancel and then use up all your remaining premium days on your old account before you subscribe again, you have already paid for them!
6 (Optional). Request the removal of your Spotify account created using Facebook.
If you wish to request your Spotify account created through Facebook be disabled then please read and follow the instructions in this topic.
I would strongly suggest that if you do not do this step, that you at least log into your online profile on your old Spotify account created with Facebook and set all email notifications to "Never" to stop Spotify sending you any emails.
Once you have completed the required steps above, you should have a complete Spotify account which is not in any way connected to Facebook.
    Happy Listening!
    Peter
If you have any issues with your account, or in following these steps, then the Spotify team will be happy to help, just drop them an email using the online contact form.
I do not work for or in anyway professionally connected to Spotify.

    Hi!
I'm trying to disconnect my spotifyfrom my facebook so i can shut my facebook down. I used your tutorial however could not find the social network tab, The only option is to uncheck "Share on Facebook what i listen to" which is unchecked BUT sharing on Facebook anyways. I'm also on a premium account. How the hell do i do it? I just want to get rid of facebook. Let me goooooooo.....
    Hey :)
    Did you read step 1?
If you created your account using Facebook, you won't have the disconnect from Facebook option, since your account is tied to Facebook. In that case you will need a new account as described in the tutorial.

  • Thumbs up from facebook friend disconnects faceboo...

I'm not sure if this is the right place to report bugs, but apparently when I'm talking to my friend and he sends a "thumbs up" from his facebook messenger account to me, Skype disconnects from facebook. Can anyone reproduce/fix this?

Friend Stream is a built in application from HTC on the Droid Incredible.  It combines Facebook, Twitter, and FlickR all in one news feed.  You log into your accounts and when launch the application it will load all those apps into one streamline.
Course I only use it for Facebook; I really dislike the Facebook Application that comes with Droid incredible/Market
I use a separate twitter client to gain access to my twitter feeds.
I have tried going into m.facebook.com on my internet application on my cell phone; yes she does show for now; was just hoping for easier access using the friend stream. Cause i can make a comment right there without having to log in and such.
    Oh well
LOL as my previous post said, I tried using 3 other 3rd party apps that uses Facebook integration but really didnt have luck on them 'at all'

  • How do I disconnect an old icloud account from my iPhone 5?

When I bought my iPhone, I did not have an icloud account so I used my sister's account. Now that I have an icloud account, I want to change the old one and use the new, but it shows me that the old account will be eliminated and I don't want to eliminate it; just disconnect it from my phone.
    How should I proceed?
    Thanks in advance.

Settings > iCloud > Delete account
It's only deleting the account from that device, not completely.

  • How can I get contacts to update from Facebook if I have them in my email account as well?

    Hello,
I'm running iOS 8 on my iPhone 6.  I have contacts coming down from several email accounts as well as Facebook.
For contacts that exist both from an email account and Facebook, the Facebook data doesn't sync down.  So I don't get, for example, people's pictures.
For people that I have only in Facebook, everything is working fine.
It's not an issue of duplication either, because I'm not seeing multiple entries that I can link.  My wife, for example, only shows up from my email account's contact, and I know she uses the same email address and name I have stored for her on Facebook, but I can't see her Facebook name, messenger ID, or photo from Facebook.
When I go into Facebook settings and force a contacts sync, it says 0 contacts were updated.
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks!

No iOS 7 for 4G iPod
As Apple said in June, iOS 7 is not compatible with the 4G iPod. Not enough RAM
All the iOS devices compatible (iPhone 4 and later, iPad 2 and later, and 5G iPod touch) with iOS 7 have at least 512 MB of memory (RAM). The 4G iPod only has 256 MB
Apple will only give you a 10% recycling discount if you turn in an old iPod when you purchase a new one. Better off selling it yourself.

Also, how can I reconnect my iphone to my Apple ID?

Do you mean that you removed the phone from the 'manage devices' section of your iTunes account ? If you do then that won't stop you being able to purchase items on your phone - you only need to be logged into an account to be able to purchase with it.
If you do mean the 'manage devices' section then you can associate, or re-associate, a device (or computer) by using iTunes Match, or automatic downloads, or redownloading past purchases on it : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627

  • How do I delete a facebook account from my notifications that I don't want to be integrated to on my computer anymore?

The notification center is telling me I must delete the account first before I add another account, but I cannot find, for the life of me, how to delete that account from being integrated on my computer. My friend got on facebook when I first had Mountain Lion and she accidentally selected to integrate it when she logged on to her facebook- before that mine HAD been integrated before. I've logged back onto MY facebook, but it hasn't asked me if I would like to integrate that instead. Help! I'm getting notifications from her page!

System Preferences - Mail, Contacts and Calendars - delete the Facebook account you see there, and/or add your own account.

  • HT1222 I got disconnected after the release of the last update! I'm disconnected only from the app store and itunes. Do i have to update to activate my account? What to do, i'm stuck.

    Have you restarted your phone?
If so, try a reset. Press and hold the home & sleep/wake buttons until the screen goes blank, ignoring the power off slider if it comes up.
Check for the app again after the phone starts back up.

  • Email address cannot be unlinked from Facebook account

Hi, I would like to decouple my Facebook account from Spotify.  I happened to create my account against my Facebook account and, after deactivating my Facebook account, found that I could no longer log into Spotify.  I reactivated my Facebook account and was then able to log in.  I would like to decouple my email address, but it shows in your system as 'in use' and I cannot unlink it.   This was frustrating enough that I switched to Rdio several months ago. I like Spotify, though, and want to switch back.  I won't though, until I can use my regular email address and not be dependent on Facebook.  What I would like is to have my account unregistered so I can create a new account using the same email address I've been using for years, and then sign up for the premium membership.  Is there any way to disassociate my Facebook account from my Spotify account?   It makes absolutely no sense to me that, because I initially registered with my Facebook account, I now need to forever maintain a Facebook account to also maintain a Spotify membership and that there is no way to separate those two things.

Hey there , welcome to the community!
If you get in touch with Spotify directly through the online contact form they will set you up with a new account and transfer all your music over, so you won't have to use your Facebook account anymore. :)

  • TS4020 "cannot get mail" The connection to the server failed. My mail account from Icloud will work if I only disconnect my wifi in my iphone and use internet plan from carrier. Anybody else with this proble??

My mail account from icloud will work if I only disconnect my wifi in my iphone and only use internet plan from my carrier. Anybody else with this problem??

I've been having the same problem since iCloud appeared and complicated an otherwise trouble-free system. Doubling frustrating is that iCloud duplicates my .Mac account so I get two of everything in my Inbox. I turned off iCloud and now mail at least goes out but I can't delete the duplicate account.

  • Change login from Facebook to Spotify account

I currently log in via Facebook but want to access my Spotify on a shared ipad where it's not my Facebook that is on there. So how can I change to logging in to Spotify n not through Facebook?

Thanks for posting in the Community. :)

  • TS3899 While messing with my two step verification I inadvertinely did something to disconnect myself from my gmail account that is on my mac mail.  I can't send or receive any mail

while messing with my two step verification on my gmail account I inadvertently did sometime to my gmail account on my Mac mail.  I can't send or receive mail.  Any thoughts

When it asks for the password, typically this is a random number sent to you via text message from Google.  I get a new code everytime I want to add a new device or log into from a new computer.  It can get very annoyingif you access your account from various computers or devices.  Once its working its not bad though.  You may want to go back in and turn the 2 step authentication off.

  • Unable to add Flickr account with facebook login

    Hi,
rMBP upgraded yesterday to Mountain Lion...trying to add Flickr connection, using Facebook dropdown and I get a blank screen...is this working for anyone?
    thanks!

Still no resolution on this but I stopped by an Apple Store and confirmed that the same happens on all their Retina MBP's with Mountain Lion installed but does work correctly on the regular MBP's.
I filed feedback with Apple and even called tech support but the call wasn't exactly fruitful.  I assume we will have to wait until 10.8.1 for this to be fixed (hopefully not longer).
In the meantime I figured out how to disconnect my Facebook account from Flickr (although I'm not positive that I really had to) and log in with my Yahoo ID instead.  I successfully setup Flickr in Mountain Lion using just my Yahoo ID.
The trickiest part for me was figuring out what my Yahoo ID and password were. Turns out it was just my Facebook login email and password.
