I already went into the Sql Server Configuration manager and set the TCPIP Keep Alive value to 0 (default setting 30000). But still, after like 5 minutes it disconnects, and I have to re-log back in. The problem with this is that I will usually have several

I wish to continue with thanks to all for replies.  The disconnect property after Query execution is not checked. And I am not sure about not letting my computer sleep.  Sometimes I have to leave
    it for extended periods.
    Good day Rich
    P123,
Sometimes for monitoring we have to do actions that are one-time in order to check our assumptions. In this case I recommend that you do this check :-)
you just need to check it once (like 24 hours), to make sure that this is the the source of the issue, or not :-)
In any case you can use screensaver, but make sure that you do not close disks as well.
    Please inform us your result

  • Airport disconnects after a few minutes

I can connect to the internet via Internet Connect wi-fi. After a few minutes all signal strength is lost and connection is lost. I can then open Internet Connect then turn Airport off, then turn Airport back on and I will now have full signal strength and use the internet again for about another 3 minutes until it loses all signal again. Any ideas?

It is indeed my Net Gear wireless router that has been in use 2 months. My I phone gets wi-fi dropped here too. Curiously enough, my friends EEE laptop will stay connected. My I Book and I phone have worked perfectly in other hot spots. Thanks

  • IPhone 4 wi-fi connection disconnects after a few minutes, but used to work just fine.

I got my iPhone 4 a few months ago. During the first few months, I would come home and connect to the wi-fi in my house with no problems, and it would stay connected until I left the range of the router. Just two days ago, I was starting to have some issues with the iPhone: I would open an app, and it would run just fine for maybe a minute, then black out and go to my home screen. If I tried to open the app again, it ran normally. Trying to troubleshoot this problem, I restored my iPhone to its factory settings, keeping my media and data. Now when I come home and connect to my wi-fi, although my device does recognize and connect to it, the connection stays for maybe 5 minutes before the phone switches back to 3G, unless the wi-fi is being actively used from my phone. Every time I want to use my home wi-fi I have to go to settings and choose a network. This is an inconvenience for my, especially since I never had to do this before; I would always stay connected. I have a feeling that I may have messed something up when I restored the phone, yet I do not know for sure what happened. I have tried restoring my network settings, restarting my iPhone, toggling the wi-fi and cellular data on and off, and turning my router on and off again. I don't think the router is the problem since everything worked before I restored my phone. Also, all of the other devices in my house that use my wi-fi work perfectly. The only thing that has changed is my phone, and I do not know how to solve this problem. Any help and information will be greatly appreciated.

If it makes you feel any better, I run networks for a living, and am having the same problem without a fix when outside the house.
When I am at home, I can get a really good signal, it stays on the network for more than a few minutes, but if I am in a coffee shop or something like that, it drops. So it is either the Access point (bad location) or an older 802.11 standard they are using (probably a g) that does not support that many connections. Or a more finicky problem that is going to require a future patch to address...
iPhones are finicky about where they get their wifi from, sometimes to excess, especially in a saturated environment... they are always looking for the strongest signal, which leads to access point hopping if two or more in proximity...
if multiple WAPs are unsecured and broadcasting SSIDs, the iPhone will try and switch back and forth between them looking for the stronger signal. In a busy city, or a coffee shop with multiple WAPs on the same network, the iPhones can play havoc. (Supposedly Duke University has a ticket with Apple because two iPhones dropped their whole wireless network access point hopping).
How i got mine to stay solid at home was to get a linksys wireless N router, not broadcast the ssid and have the iphone connect (the SSID was case sensitive to the iPhone, but not to anything else on my network... weird). In a busy environment, I would recommend putting all but the strongest signal on ignore... a pain but helped me so far get at least more than 30 seconds of wifi connection.

  • Wireless modem disconnecting after 10 minutes consecutively...

My wireless modem is disconnecting after every 10 minutes...I just replaced the modem and cable so it is not that.
It shows as a Ethernet port connection...it is plugged into a USB port.
    Help

Interesting. I have a Macbook pro 17" and although all is fine using either of the 2 usb ports on the left, my external modem is either very slow or disconnects for no reason when I use the usb port on the right.
I think it may have occurred after I upgraded to 10.4.7 also.

  • Express as extender disconnects after 20 minutes

I have an 802.11n Time Capsule as my main router. I got a new 802.11n Airport Express to extend the network's range. Since then, it seems to work fine, but then after about 20 minutes, the connection between the Express and Time Capsule seems to die. My computer is connected through the Express, and it has full bars, but I can't connect to the internet. If I open Airport Utility, it can only see the Express (which has a green light) but not the Time Capsule. If I reset my Airport card on my MacBook, I can't get an IP. But as soon as I reset the Express, everything goes back to normal.

I noticed that another user has just posted a similar thread to yours with the same type of disconnect problem after a limited time period. Maybe a problem with a recent production run of the Express?
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2311877&tstart=0
Don't bother with WDS as it is an older technology which will result in a 50% drop in the bandwidth on your wireless network. Difficult to configure as well.
Higher frequency 5 GHz signals are absorbed by walls and any obstructions much more quickly than 2.4 GHz signals, so its possible that the 5 GHz signal is not as strong at the point where the Express "extends".
Not sure about your question about wireless cards. I do know that the radio power of the Time Capsule and AirPort Express are identical according to Apple's specifications.
Might be worth trying a new Express if you can work out a swap.

  • IChat disconnects after 12 minutes.

Don't know what is going on, iChat opens fine, it disconnects after 12 minutes and it will not reconnect. Does any one know what I can do to solve this problem?

    Hi,
What is the time the Modem or router says it is using ?
Some devices say 24 Hours and as long at the Computer is on again before it is up it keeps the IP.
Others like an Airport say 4 hours but then do different things
Some remake the connection at renewal and can break any internet connection you have.
Also does the computer keep the Same IP when the lease does get renewed ?

  • SQL Developer on Linux hangs when disconnecting after VPN reconnect

    Hello,
I have a problem with using connections after general link failure (Cisco VPN disconnect in my case, lost of route to Oracle DB).
When I reconnect to a VPN and I'll try to disconnect from a previously opened (before general link failure) connection, I need
to wait more than 10 minutes to complete this process. SQL Developer is completely unusable during this time.
    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Connect to VPN
    2. Open connection in SQL Developer to host accessible only by this VPN
    3. Restart VPN
    4. Try to do anything with this connection (disconnect, execute sql in opened SQL Worksheet, view tables, etc.)
This bug is not new in recent versions, I'm using SQL Developer from over 2 years and this bug was always with me. But if I remember correctly in earlier versions (<3.0) I couldn't reuse the connection to execute sql (hanging SQL Developer for more than 10 minutes) but disconnecting would succeed without a problem.
Maybe SQL Developer should move connection management to separate thread to resolve this issue... or is there another solution?
    I'm using SQL Developer 3.1.07.42 @ Linux 3.0.4
For VPN connectivity I use vpnc
When I restart VPN connection I'm loosing TUN interface and all routes.
I have tested this issue on a few versions of SQL Developer on Windows XP, including 3.1.07. There is no problem with disconnecting after vpn failure on Windows.
Maybe I should fill some bug report? When I can do such thing? Metalink?
    Best regards,
    Irek Slonina

    Hi Irek,
Possibly you can resolve this issue by altering the type of the connection that becomes non-responsive upon a VPN reconnect. What type are you currently using: Basic, TNS, etc?
In this forum thread (for Windows, unfortunately, not Linux), although different from your case, the solution used Thick/OCI driver, not Thin/Basic:
    Windows 7 VPN
I have no VPN client on Linux (much less vpnc), only Cisco AnyConnect on Win XP, so I cannot test your scenario.
    Regards,
    Gary

  • I can't be the only one with this issue. MacBook Pro Retina Late-2013 WiFi disconnects after waking up from sleep.

Did anyone buy a MacBook Pro Retina 13" from Best Buy this Black Friday?
I'm having an issue where the WiFi disconnects after the MacBook wakes from sleep but only after a couple of minutes.
Once the WiFi disconnects, I can't reconnect to the same network and sometimes it won't find nearby networks.
I have to turn off the WiFi and wait for at least 5 seconds before turning it back on for it to auto-reconnect to my home network.
If I wait less than 5 seconds, it will continue to attempt connection to the home network but won't connect.
I've tried reformatting and deleting my network configurations as well as resetting my modem, power cycling it, etc.
    I am using 2Wire Gateway modem/router from AT&T on b/g network.
I've tried connecting to a friend's network under Time Warner Cable and the same issue occurs.
I exchanged the MacBook at a Best Buy for a brand unopened one (I hope) and the same exact thing happens with this new one.
Really, I can't be the only one with this issue. Unless in a 0.00001% chance I received two defective units in a row?
Please.. does anyone have a clue why this is happening?

You're definitely not the only one.  I have the same issue.  I spent 6 hours over multiple days on the phone with Apple support trying a variety of things (some of which are mentioned above), and none of them worked.  They finally sent me a replacement laptop.  I made sure to try it periodicaly as I was moving files and installing applications to see if I ran into it again and things seemed okay at first but now I am running into the same issue and it is terribly annoying.  I've got 5 other devices that connect to the same router and I've never had this issue with any of them.
My router is a Linksys E2000.  I haven't tried changing the router channel but I have tried to cnnecting to other networks in the building I live in and I have run into the same issue there.

  • Zen Sleek Photo Freezes/Locks Up after about 5 minutes usage (need to drain battery to recov

    Hi,
My 20G Zen Sleek Photo has just recently transformed itself into a useless brick.
No matter what I try and do, it always ends up freezing after about 5 minutes usage. When you force a reset it does unlock but when it comes back on it sticks on the Creative "copyright" start up screen.
I've reformatted and re-installed the firmware several times but with the same result.
    font face="comic sans ms,sans-serif">
The only time it totally unlocks is when you either:
() let the battery fully drain and then recharge it or
    (2) you disconnect the battery lead and then press the On/Off switch for several minutes.
I've looked everywhere for a solution/reason but nothing. You find plenty of people with the same problem but no answers. Surely someone knows how to fix the problem
Is it a faulty battery (unlikely because mine charges up fine and holds it charge well)
Is it the hard dri've (very unlikely since the player can start up correctly [given the above recovery procedure] and play tracks within the 5-0 minutes you have available)
Is it the firmware (I doubt it, I can't see what the firmware's got to do with a delayed lock up, having worked fine up to that point)
Is it the motherboard (maybe....., to my mind it points to a component failure that allows an electric charge to build up and not dissipate, the only way to discharge it is to short the battery pins [with, I hasten to add, the battery removed!])
    font face="comic sans ms,sans-serif">
Has anyone within the Creative community successfully solved this problem Has anyone received a decent answer from Creative
I find it staggering that the guys at Creative have washed their hands of this problem. They, after all, are the most likely people to identify the problem - only they have a schematic of the motherboard that would allow them to investigate and locate the problem.
For the record the firmware I'm using is v .0.0.
Any guidance would be much appreciated,
    Victor

Is there really no one with an answer to this problem or have I overlooked a previous post that explained the fault.

  • Multicast stops after about 2 minutes

    Hi,
We are testing IP Multicast, with Flahs media player 4.0.
We set up the encoder and generated the manifest file.
Multicast start, but we see lot of bufferring and video running fast.
After about 2 minutes, the encode stops publishing to the server.
We are using digital rapids as the encoder.
Any idea this might be causing ?

    A few things to try:
    1. If you're using the 'multicast' application that ships with FMS4, it logs state transitions and event info to the app log as the server-side multicast relay (a server-side NetConnection/NetGroup/NetStream) start up and redirect the ingest stream from FMLE into the Flash Group. I'd recommend reading through that and verifying that the server-side objects handling the relay into the Group are happy (i.e. not disconnecting or being closed down).
    2. The multicastplayer client SWF app has some flashvars defined in the HTML shim file that loads it. One of these is a debug flag. If you set that to true, you'll get some debug info surfaced up to your UI. This will include the various events the client is processing on its NetConnection/NetGroup/NetStream that's being used to play the multicast stream out of the target Flash Group. Feel free to post those details back to this thread.
    3. If you're doing IP multicast, that won't work over the public internet. In that case you'll want to be using P2P multicast.
    Best,
    Seth

  • Wifi Auto disconnect after 5-10 of sleep.

    Here's my technical data:
    Iphone 4s
    iOS 8
I connect to wifi and lock my phone, after 5-10 minutes of sleeping the wifi auto disconnect.
To test this, I tried sending a LINE message and as expected, I didn't receive the message.
Is this a problem with the OS or is it normal for wifi to disconnect automatically?

    Reset the device:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You may have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.
    * No data is lost due to a reset
