Disconnected iPod still says connected on screen

I've disconnected my 4th generation iPod from my laptop only to have the screen still read "Connected-Eject before disconecting." several times. I've usually been able to get that to go away somehow in the past. Now I can't get it to go away for anything. What the **** am I supposed to do?

Try holding the center button and the menu button until the apple symbol pops up, then wait for it to restart. If that doesn't work then idk...

  • I restored and updated my iPod, but when I turned it on, it still says connect to iTunes

My brother just got an ipod for Christmas, and we told him not to put a passcode on it because he would forget... but he did it anyways and he did forget! He ended up disabling it trying to unlock it. It said ''Connect to iTunes." When I connected to iTunes, it said it was disabled and needed the passcode to do whatever,  but I held the top button and the home button down for ten seconds to Restart it because we don't know the passcode! It said to Restore and Update, so I did that. Now it's in Recovery mode... and I can't get past that part! I thought I had done it right, but when it turns back on, it still says connect to iTunes! Help??

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

  • I just restored my ipod and backed it up but it still says connect to itunes

I just restored my ipod and backed it up but it still says connect to itunes.Help.

If the restore was successful, that is went through all the steps without errors then likely:
Restore loop (being prompted to restore again after a restore successfully completes)
Troubleshoot your USB connection. If the issue persists, out-of-date or incorrectly configured third-party security software may be causing this issue. Please follow Troubleshooting security software issues. .

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
