Disconnecting an accociated client

I am supporting a small cluster of AP541N WAPs and would like to know if there is an easy way to manually disconnect an associated client (recognized by MAC address) from the Associated Clients screen in the Access Point Configuration Utility Status view. That type of feature might come in handy with unruly bandwidth hogs down the road.
Thanks!

Sorry Ben, but without ARD, SSH, or VNC, I can't think of anything that doesn't involve cutting power to the building hosting the client computer.

    Is it possible to disconnect 2 wireless clients from my network if I do not have access to the clients? ie 2 iPads.

    You would have to set up Timed Access for each device.
    This consists of specifying the amount of time each day that wireless devices will be allowed to connect to the network. You must provide a MAC or hardware address for each device, which is a long code that might look something like this, for example......A1-B2-C3-D4-E5-F6....and then specify the hours each day that this device is allowed to connect to the wireless network.
    You have to do this for each device, which is tedious. Devices that are not on the Access List cannot connect to the network at any time.

  • WAP 321 disconnecting all associated clients

    Hi Support,
    I am a newbie technical support. Currently, I encountered a issue about WAP321 that will occasionally disconnecting all the clients(about 7 clients only) in one shot and cannot connect back at all. However, after login to the Web Gui and reboot the WAP321. It is able to connect again.
    I had upgrade the firmware to 1.0.4.2 but the problem still exists. The AP is using only WPA2-Personal.
    The environment of the AP is like this:
    Internet->Watchguard Firewall (with AP too but different SSID with the WAP321, flat vlan) ->switches and WAP321
    Is that any misconfiguration of the AP or the network environment cause this issue?
    Another problem is the time of the AP cannot be fixed. I had tried either set the time using NTP (port 123 is opened in firewall) or manually input but it will revert back to 1999 after reboot.
    Thanks in advanced!

  • EXCEL VBA: Inserting rows code returns error "2147417848 The object invoked has disconnected from its clients"

    I was executing the following code in Excel 2013 that is linked to a button I use to add multiple rows in a chosen section of a worksheet
    Sub Add_Rows_dc()
    Sheet53.Unprotect ("xxx")
    X = Range("C1").Value + 1 'Section Counter
    Y = ListSheet.Range("I" & X).Value 'Existing rows counter
    Z = ListSheet.Range("H" & X).Value 'Position counter
    Righe = InputBox("How many rows would you like to add?", , "1")
    If Righe < 1 Then GoTo err ' test for invalid row number
    RigheSheet.Rows(X).Copy
    Rows(Z - 1 & ":" & Righe + Z - 2).Insert Shift:=xlDown
    GoTo Fine

    Range("U" & Z - Righe - 2 & ":AF" & Z - 2).FillDown
    Sheet53.Protect "xxx", , , , , True
    End Sub
    From time to time it returns me the error "2147417848 The object invoked has disconnected from its clients" and the debug point out the line
    Rows(Z - 1 & ":" & Righe + Z - 2).Insert Shift:=xlDown
    I cannot find any specific reason due to the fact that the error seems randomic, sometimes the code is perfectly executed, sometimes not.
    I wrote this piece of code in Excel 2010 and never encountered such problem before reusing it in Excel 2013
    Has someone an insight or a suggestion?
    Thank you very much

  • The object invoked has disconnected from its clients

    Hi
    I decided to take the plunge and update our server and take it up to SP1
    I updated it at weekend and it all seemed fine.
    I could log in and it all seemed wonderful, and I breathed a sigh of relief. Yes.
    Err NO...
    Come in this morning and I cannot remotely log in.
    I go locally to the machine and try to login but get this message "The object invoked has disconnected from its clients"
    I wondered if anyone has encountered this error and managed to fix it?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your posting in Windows Server Forum.
    Can you able to login successfully after this error occurs?
    Did you try to take the console of server?
    Please try to find out the logs to see if there is any detailed error message during this issue. Also please try to login with admin account and check the result. If this can’t solve, you can try to start with safe boot mode and login into the server and try
    to find some logs related to the issue.
    Hope it helps!

    I recently bought an Airport Express (n) so I could stream music to my Hi-Fi and bridge my Xbox 360.
    I have configured the AX to connect to my existing wireless network which is served up by a Billion 7800n router (G+N mode).

    I'm using WPA2 AES encryption, wireless is on a non-competing channel and the airport is only 2-3 meters away from the router in the same room.
    Things I've tried are upgrading Router firmware to latest (1.6), switching Wi-Fi channels, enabling B mode on the router (BGN) but nothing seems to work.
    I don't think it's interference as it disconnects almost every 5 minutes which suggests some config/hardware issue.
    Anyone have any ideas? I've hit a brick wall.
    Thanks...

    Update:
    This appears to be by design? - connection doesn't drop when using AirTunes/Airfoil which is what I bought it for.
    However I thought the Ethernet port wouldn't work when used in Client mode (according to the FAQ). I was able to connect my Xbox 360 to the AX when in Client mode using a network cable and it is able to connect to Xbox Live. When doing this it drops off on the 5 minute intervals when the AX disconnects and reconnects.
    I guess if I used AirTunes at the same time as the X360 it would work.
    Would be nice if it worked as a stable bridge in client mode as I could bin off my other wireless bridges. Never mind - I ain't forking out for another AX so I can use "Apple's" WDS.

  • Guest client disconnect non guest clients

    Hi,
    I have 2 WiSM in the branch office and 1 4404 working as Anchor in a DMZ all with the 6.0.188 version. In this moment just 1 AP 1242 is working, in a testing environment with 2 SSID:
    1. internal WLAN with WPA+WPA2 802.1x with certificates
    2. Open guestnet in a EoIP tunnel
    Internal users working correctly, but when other clients start to connect to the guest network, clients connected to the internal network are disconnected.
    Do you know some way to assign to the ssid a priority or what can I do to mitigate this problem,
    Thanks

    i like it when i get debugs :).

  • WRT400N - issues with brief disconnects and DHCP client table

    Hello,
    I recently bought a WRT400N to replace my (seemingly) dead WRT54GS. It worked great out of the box, and setup was quick and intuitive, just like my previous router. It came with firmware version 1.0.10 B19.
    I'm having two problems. First, while playing some online games, I'm getting brief disconnects every 2-3 minutes. It's usually just enough to make the screen studder (I'll get a "Connection Interrupted" message for a split second), and then it goes away. It's happening often enough where it's causing issues, though. My computer is connected directly to the router via CAT 6, and the only component that has changed since the issue started is  the router itself. To add confusion to the problem, when I do a tracert to something like Google, most of the hops come back fine, but I'm noticing it takes 4-5 seconds before it lists an IP address for any given hop, UNLESS a domain name is specified. The actual columns with the latency numbers are filled in quickly, but the IP address itself at the end of the line hangs for a minute. For example, the  final hop, "12    22 ms    24 ms    23 ms  od-in-f104.google.com [64.233.161.104]" is displayed instantly, but any hops along the way that just show an IP address, such as "11    27 ms    26 ms    25 ms  216.239.48.190" have a long pause before the IP address (bold) is displayed. Normally I would think it's a problem with the routers along the way, but the delay even happens before it displays the hop to my router's IP - 192.168.1.1. Very weird. I wasn't sure if these issues were related.
    The second problem is the DHCP client table in the router's web administration utility. On my old router, the DHCP client table always displayed all computers that were connected to the router (DHCP set to auto). With the WRT400N, I'm noticing only a few of the machines are actually showing up. They're all being assigned IPs without any issues, and they're all able to connect; they're just not showing up in the table. I often check the client table to see who's connected or grab a MAC address when I need to mess with QoS or access restriction, so the fact that some clients are missing is a bit annoying. The old router didn't have this issue.
    Thank you.

    As you are facing this problem with the Wired Computer, then i think you need to change some settings on your Router. Once you login to the Router GUI, below the Setup tab you will find MTU, which will be set to AUTO,So change it to Manual and change the Size from 1500 to 1365 and click on Save Settings. Once you are done, now try to play the Games and check if you are facing the same problem or not.
    If still you face the same problem, then i think you need to Re-Flash the firmware on you Router.. Go to website linksysbycisco.com/downloads .........insert model no of your router in serach tab......select proper version of your router........download the firmware file......save that file on desktop..
    Follow these steps to upgrade the firmware on the device : -
    Open an Internet Explorer browser page on a computer hard wired to the router...
    In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1...Leave the Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
    Click on the 'Administration' tab- Then click on the 'Firmware Upgrade' sub tab- Here click on 'Browse' and browse the .bin firmware file and click on "Upgrade"...
    Wait for few seconds until it shows that "Upgrade is successful"  After the firmware upgrade, click on "Reboot" and you will be returned back to the same page OR it will say "Page cannot be displayed".
    Now reset your router :
    Press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...

  • FDK Framemaker Server: How to properly disconnect an asynchronous client

    Description: We developed an asynchronous client DLL that starts up and connects to FrameMaker using a registered prog id. Everything works fine but we have the following problem: When the DLL disconnects from the FrameMaker process, FrameMaker can not be stopped but makes the FrameMaker process and the application hang. When the DLL is unloaded after disconnecting, then FrameMaker can be stopped normally. We like to know how to disconnect from the FrameMaker process in such a way that FrameMaker can be stopped normally without the requirement to unload the DLL first. This way we also want to be able to stop FrameMaker using the DLL.
    Details:
    To connect and start-up the FrameMaker process we use the F_ApiWinConnectSession() function.
    To disconnect we call the F_ApiDisconnectFromSession() function.
    We tried different options with initializing COM and intializing the message filter using FDK and the F_ApiShutDown() function.
    Regards,
    Edwin Walter

    I've always shut down the projector, and the computer reacts by reverting to single built-in monitor mode. Then I diconnect the cable.

  • [SOLVED] Disconnecting session when client close browser's window or tab

    Hello,
    I'm looking for disconnect my database session and invalidate the session with the "onunload" af:document function. I think that is the same as the "onunload" in "body" html tag.
    I see some documentation about that, for example:
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/htdocs/partners/addins/exchange/jsf/doc/tagdoc/core/document.html
    and I see that is enable to put an EL Expression, so I try with this:
    <f:view>
    <af:document binding="#{backing_user.document_user}" id="document_user" onunload="#{backing_user.logout}">
    <af:form binding="#{backing_user.form_user}" id="form_user"/>
    </af:document>
    </f:view>
    and not works, then I try:
    <f:view>
    <af:document binding="#{backing_user.document_user}" id="document_user" onunload="return logout_function()">
    <af:form binding="#{backing_user.form_user}" id="form_user"/>
    </af:document>
    </f:view>
    and as this, I try a lot of combinations, with no result. I take my time searching in various browsers but, surprisingly, I fount not much information about this (rare, I think is a very interesting matter).
    What is the way to be able this funcionallity?
    Thanks,
    Westh
    Edit: obviusly, logout_function() is a correct javascript function :P

    Hello,
    I resolve my problem. Now I go to describe the steps in a little tutorial.
    Remmember that this is a very basic tutorial that only allow you to do this matter, but not in deep. See bottom links for more information.
    Step's list:
    1) Download Shale framework from http://shale.apache.org/index.html#download
    2) Import all .jar libraries in your application.
    3) Open your web.xml file and add this:
    <context-param>
    <param-name>org.apache.shale.remoting.DYNAMIC_RESOURCES</param-name>
    <param-value>/dynamic/*:org.apache.shale.remoting.impl.MethodBindingProcessor</param-value>
    </context-param>
    4) Consider this:
    4.1) Managed bean --> userBean.java that have this method:
    public void logout () {
    /* Your logout code */
    and this name in faces-config.xml:
    <managed-bean>
    <managed-bean-name>userBeanId</managed-bean-name>
    <managed-bean-class>userBean</managed-bean-class>
    <managed-bean-scope>session</managed-bean-scope>
    </managed-bean>
    4.2) JSP Page --> home.jsp that have this code:
    A clinet listener:
    <af:clientListener method="unloadEvent" type="load"/>
    and this javascript functions:
    <f:verbatim>
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function unloadEvent () {
    window.onunload = function () {
    processUnload();
    function processUnload () {
    var httpRequest;
    if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {
    httpRequest = new XMLHttpRequest();
    } else if (window.ActiveXObject) {
    httpRequest = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
    httpRequest.overrideMimeType('text/xml');
    httpRequest.onreadystatechange = function() { alertContents(httpRequest); };
    httpRequest.open('GET', 'dynamic/userBeanId/logout.faces', false);
    httpRequest.send('');
    function alertContents(httpRequest) {
    if (httpRequest.readyState == 4) {
    if (!httpRequest.status == 200) {
    alert('There was a problem with the request. Http code: ' + httpRequest.status);
    </script>
    </f:verbatim>
    Assuming the suffix '.faces' is mapped to the JSF servlet.
    With this, you are able to acces to logout method of userBean (using ajax) when client closes window or tab. No servlets, no 'logout.jsp' pages, etc; and the most important thing: the code never be repeat! it's funny :)

  • Addon disconnected in some clients

    Hi All,
    I had developed an addon that worked fine for about 2 years. Now I have upgraded to SAP 8.81 PL8 and in some clients it stops working (disconnected) when it is triggered. In others clients it's working fine. As a remedy I reinstalled specific client
    Any idea?
    Vangelis

    Hi Vangelis,
    Because your add-on is developed under the old DI, you need to recompile it under new DI to make sure it work under new B1 system.
    Thanks,

  • Disconnected/Hung RDS Client Sessions

    We have a Windows 2012 (not R2) RDS environment as follows:
    We have one domain, one licensing and one connection broker server.  Three rd gateway servers, two web access servers, and 5 session host servers.  All servers are virtualized.
    In our peak times, we have an average of 150 users logged in and running a published app.  At those times, the used memory on the session host servers is pegged at over 95% utilization.  CPU, Disk, and network are normal.
    Our session host servers are using a quad core cpu and 8GB RAM.
    Our proposed solution to solve our disconnects/hung sessions is to at least double the RAM on our session hosts.
    Does this seem to be the right course of action or could I get the right solution proposed?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
    Since there is no overload issue with other system resources, increase RAM sounds like a good plan to me.

  • Server socket disconnection in a client-server setup.

    Hi all,
    is there any way of knowing when server side of the socket connection goes away?
    The scenario is like this, I have a client-server environment with sockets connection. The server can detect when the client socket closes or just goes away but, it is not happening the other way. The client socket remains unaware that the server has gone down and could still send messages across a PrintWriter stream. I guess I am missing something here.
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Cyrus

    Fundamental lesson in Sockets:
    1) A socket is nothing more than an address and port to the programmer.
    2) When you create the socket, data flies then.
    3) If you cannot create the socket, your exception tells you the reason.
    4) If you are open and go to send data, you will can tell by exceptions whether it flew or not.
    5) If you are open and go to read data, you have a time out option which will allow you to go into error recovery mode. For example:
    read_data_and_wait_45_seconds
    if ( exception) then (See if port is still up do error checking) else (received the data)
