Disconnecting from usb port prob

I have a brand new muvo micro 52 mb black Mp3. I was transfering songs to it via the usb port. When I disconnected it as the player guide states, the symbol that shows up on the screen while it is hooked up, will not go away and it will not power up, can anybody help? I have had it 2 days and transferred a few songs and it worked fine.

A number of us have had this same problem (see thread entitled "Muvo Freezing Up" from AGreg in this forum). It seems to happen regardless of hardware. One person suggested that he believed it was caused by removing the USB cord from the player before removing the cord from the computer. It appears the plug into the computer should be removed first.
Please post anything you learn about this. It's ridiculous that the order in which one removes the different ends of the USB cord has an effect on the proper function of the player. I am not aware of any other device that reacts this way (including my bottom-of-the-line digital camera).
I exchanged my first player (like yours, an N200 52MB); if I have the same problem, I'm returning it and getting something with more technical sophistication. I know these things aren't supposed to be fancy, but they should at least work.
Cheers.

  • Just updated to Yosemite, computer crashes everytime I unplug my WiMax from USB port

I have a MacBook Pro Retina, and updated from Mavericks OS X to Yosemite OS X.
Ever since the update, my laptop crashes everytime I unplug my WiMax portable internet from USB port.
The error message that appears says: “your computer restarted because of a problem, press any key to continue…”.
After pressing a key, the Apple logo and a loading bar appears, ~30s later, I am brought to login page.
I already tried to "repair disk permissions" in disk utilities, but the issue is not resolved.
Can you please teach me how fix my computer, so that it doesn't crash everytime I unplug my WiMax from USB port?
    Thank you very much!

I have the same problem in Yosemite. If I turn off or disconnect my G-Technology Thunderbolt drive, my MacBook Pro freezes/crashes every time. I get a dark screen and message: “Your computer restarted because of a problem…” (and then it restarts automatically).
I always eject the drive first with no issue. It’s just when I power the drive down or physically disconnect the cable that the crash occurs.
    Anyone find any solutions yet?

  • IPod Nano (4th Generation) switches on when connected to USB power - shows Menu & hangs (unresponsive to click wheel) - deems off after 5-sec - Switches off after disconnecting from USB Power - syncs with iTunes - Tried 5R's - Problem still persists

    1. The iPod Nano (4th Generation - 8GB) switches on, only when connected to USB power by showing apple logo and displays Menu options thereafter..
    2. However, I can not access Menu as it is unresponsive to click wheel. As a result it is inaccessible to any further use,
    3. NOTE: it displays "Battery Fully charged" icon on the screen without any "Lock" icon.
    4. After  5-sec to 10-secs the screen deems off.. i.e. goes to sleep mode.. And thereafter would probably remain like that (sleeeping) for eternity!!!!
    5. It Switches off after WITHOUT DISPLAYING any Apple Logo immediately after disconnecting from USB Power.
    6. In other words, it can be switched on only through USB power in spite of battery being fully charged.
    7. Interestingly, it syncs with iTunes. It is recognised in iTunes (Latest version 11+).. Displays on screen all commands Like.. syncronising, connecting, connected,
    8. Allows to add Music, videos like a normal ipod & displays all status information in iTunes.
    9. Read Trobleshooting & Tried all 5R's. Registered, Resetted, updated & Restored to iOS 1.0.2
    10. It is now displaying to select Language in place of Menu options, with no access through click wheel, centre button whatsoever... Problem still persists
KINDLY GUIDE ME THE SOLUTION. APPRECIATE YOUR RESPONSE in advance...

"I get the feeling that this is a software issue that could probably be solved quite easily"
Since you have already tried all the normal troubleshooting solutions, take the iPod to your nearest Apple Store for a *proper diagnosis.* The staff there will be able to confirm if your problem is software or hardware _*at no cost to you.*_

  • ITunes Library set up on NetGear R6100 router with ReadyShare from USB port?

Can the iTunes Library be set up on a NetGear R6100 router with it's NetGear ReadyShare feature. from a USB thumb drive or USB hard drive attached to the one available R6100 router's USB 2.0 port?
I have read the Apple forum post about a similar question for the more advanced NetGear R7000 router, which says it can work there.  Unlike some of the other sibling Netgear routers that do not have ReadyShare, my R6100 does, which leads me to believe that it should work, since its the same technology (they both have a router USB port with ReadyShare). It just appears that the documentation is very limited. The other post said to format the USB drive to the Apple format (HFS+), rather than Fat32, get the Mac or Apple to see the iTunes directory located on the router's USB port.
I'd like to know if anyone has had any luck using the ReadyShare.feature on their R6100 for sharing their iTunes library to the same iTunes account on different devices (laptop, PC, AppleTV, iPod, etc).  My Apple TV has recently acquired a problem of not being able to detect the iTunes library on my PC, aftert a recent iTunes update, but that's another problem that the forums show a lot of people having.  So I figured that since my R6100 router has the ability to share media over the network, I would try to move my iTunes library there, hopefully to make it easier to access by my Apple TV, and make it unnecessary to have my PC running when I watch my purchased iTunes movies, that are stored in that library.  Interestingly, my movie and TV show files are stored in my iTunes Music folder under the "Movies" and "TV Shows" subdirectories (folders). The way it is set up now, if I'm watching a HD movie purchased from iTunes with my Apple TV, the movie stops playing as soon as my PC is shut down, which confirms to me that the large movie files are being pulled from there to my Apple TV.

Oh groan, not another conspiracy theory.  No, it's a lot more likely Apple and Netgear and the dozens of other manufacturers haven't gotten together with the thousands users who have come up with hundreds of thousands of ways of rigging things up and tested each and every one of them.  I am confident if Apple were out to mess things up for you they could have come up with something a lot more devious.
Did you do a web search for this?  With a Google search specifying Netgear with this error I found:
ReadySHARE USB Hard drive access issue from a Mac Computer (Time Machine or iTunes not working properly)
    - Able to see USB hard drive content but unable to write to USB hard drive connected to router's Readyshare port from Mac computer.
    - Error that says  "The iTunes application could not be opened. Unknown error 13008"
    http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/22763/~/readyshare-usb-hard-drive- access-issue-from-a-mac-computer-%28time-machine-or
In fact it is almost certain that it is an issue of that particular model router and the drive formats it can use.

  • IPod Nano Drawing Too Much Power From USB Port

My daughter plugged her iPod into the USB port of our iMac today, something she has been doing for months and months, and yet this time she was greeted with an error message telling her that something was drawing too much power from the USB port, so my iMac was shutting down that port.  I moved the iPod to another port -- same error message.  I moved the iPod to another iMac -- same message.  So I am confident that the culprit is the device and not the computer.  Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?  The iPod is an iPod Nano 7th Generation (current model).

My issue has been solved.  The USB cable was bad.  I am unsure how to remove my question from the forum ... sorry for taking up anyone's time.

  • Cannot remove iPod Shuffle from USB port

    Any ideas?

Wow!!! Take it to a Apple or Dell computer shop and hope they can remove it for you

  • Music does not stop playing when I disconnect from USB in car

When iphone is connected to car stereo, music does not stop playing when I disconnect the usb cable. If someone is calling me and I unplug from USB, all I hear in my ear is music...I cannot hear the person calling me. Not sure what's happened but it never used to do this. Any suggestions?

Nseries phones have behaved this way since forever.
I don't know any way to change this. Same behavior happens if you unplug your headset or headphones.

  • HT5868 My iphone 5 with ios 7 stopped promting me to "trust this computer" and wont charge from USB ports now

My iphone 5 with ios 7 stopped promting me to "trust this computer" 1 day ago after doing it everytime i plugged it in to a USB port on my work laptop. It will now no longer charge from any of the USB ports. The USB ports work fine on the laptop for other devices and my phone will prompt me and charge at any other computer in my office. I possibly hit do not trust by accident which may have caused this. I reset all settings on the phone and rebooted my laptop and none of this fixed the issue. Phone syncs and charges fine at home and there were no issues with my work laptop up until 2 days ago with prompts or charging. Any ideas??

    Hi,
I'm new on this forum and with my iphone 5c.
'Till some days ago I had a Windows Vista pc and when I connected the iphone, it was recognized.
Yesterday I decided to change my SO in Linux Ubuntu 13.04 but now my iphone isn't recognized and I'm not able to use it.
This message appears on my iphone
"Trust This Computer? Your settings and data will be accessible from this computer when connected via USB or Wi-Fi. [Trust] [Don't Trust]"
I clicked Trust but the iphone buzzes twice, then repeats the prompt. This will repeat endlessly.
I read a lot about the bug, but is there any solutions waiting for the resolution of bug?
    I can't use my iphone!!!!

  • Thunderbolt Display Hum from USB ports

A number of people on a number of threads have reported strange sounds (hum, hiss, crackle) coming from their Thunderbolt monitors. Some reflect electrical interference from other appliances. Some are the result of defects in the Thunderbolt firmware that has allegedly been fixed. A lot of the problems seem to be connected to the speakers. My problem has nothing to do with the speakers, but with a quite pronounced hum (nothing subtle -- you can hear it ten feet away) that arises unpredictably, and can be changed or even temporarily elminated by changing the screen angle. To me it sounded like what in other contexts would be a "ground hum," and perhaps that's what it is, I don't know. What I do know is that, if you have this particular problem, you can solve it by removing all USB devices from the ports on the back of the monitor. These work as ports, but they do produce the hum, at least on mine, regardless of what you plug into them.
There's really no excuse for this kind of thing, but lets face it, Apple products can sometimes be surprisingly shoddy.

See:  Thunderbolt Display Firmware 1.2 broke the USB inside the display.
No solution yet.  I have a call in w/ Apple Support later today.  I recommend you all start calling them.
Symptoms are:  TBD connected, Mac goes to sleep or hibernate...when it wakes, USB (including Audio) is inoperative.  Unplug/plug TBD back into Mac, item restores.
SMC and PRAM resets do not work permanently...restarting Mac (whether MacBook, Mac Mini or MB Air) doesn't work permanently.
The audio card in the TB Display is a USB device.  If you look in your system report you'll see that it's connected.
Here's another thing you can try...Start FaceTime...You'll notice your FaceTime camera doesn't work (in the display) either.  It's USB also.
I would strike a guess that the USB driver got borked on the firmware update.

  • K7t266 pro optical mouse disconnects on usb port

i have a k7t266 pro MB and my optical wheel mouse mouse disconnects every now and then on the usb port for a sekond. anyone know a solution? is there a usb driver or some kind of fix for this problem? maybe i configured something wrong.

  • IPhone 3G won't charge from USB port

Suddenly I am getting an error sound (no message though) on my computer when I plug my iPhone into its USB port and it no longer charges the battery. I don't have iTunes on this computer (not allowed/work computer) but I have been using the USB connection to recharge my phone until yesterday when it stopped working.
    Here's what I've tried:
    1. Tried 2 different cables - same result, no charge and an error tone.
    2. Tried connecting to a USB hub, direct to several USB ports on computer, and via a USB port on the computer's keyboard - same result, error tone and no charging.
    3. Tried various combinations of two cables and two AC wall adapters, all work fine to charge my phone.
    4. Tried plugging my iPod into the USB port on the computer and Windows XP immediately identified it as a iPod and started charging it.
I have not tried plugging it into my home computer where I sync it since this started happening yet.
Is there something wrong with my phone?

I've had a computer "suddenly" refuse to charge an iPhone that it had previously charged reliably.
In my case it was because Vmware was active in the background managing a background Virtual Machine, and it grabbed the USB port on behalf of that background machine, which immediately gave the proper beep sounds, but since the virtual machine had no drivers, it didn't charge. (in fact the charge indicator went backward fairly quickly).
If you have to ask what Vmware is, this is probably not your problem, but there may be similar scenarios that could cause this with background tasks, or other logged in users running things that think they "own" the usb port.

  • IPod not recharging from USB port

Hello and greetings, my 30gb iPod Video was acting just fine a few weeks ago in my computer, but all of the sudden it stopped charging whenever I plugged it into the USB port, it's working just fine, transfers songs, I can make playlist, I got it all up and working YET it just stopped working so after a couple of hours plugged into my PC it just turns off because it rans out of battery so I have to run and find another computer in order to recharge it, it used to recharge before what happened? how can I get it to work again?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your welcome. You know that its not possible to charge and synchronize the music at the same time because of only one port for both syncing and charging when you are charging it with the ipod power adapter.I have read in one of the articles that its necessary to have good charge on the ipod before syncing, restoring or updating the software. That's why the best thing for your ipod would be Ipod usb power adapter available online , costs pretty high 30$ but thats worth . Like many people even i think that apple should provide this power adapter as an included accessory.
And if you have more questions about ipod's battery ,you can go through this article which has battery faq's (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=62018). Cheers.

  • TS3694 getting a 3014 error message when trying to recover my itouch. All PC software is currect, I have disconnected all USB ports and even turned off all security and still get a 3014 error. I got this after I upgraded to IOS 10.7.0.21

I am getting a 3014 error message when trying to recover my iTouch after upgrading to 10.7.0.21. Everything worked fine until the upgrade. My PC is current with upgrades, I have unplugged all USB connections and I have disabled my firewall security.

    Did you try this:
Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network.
