i am not sure whether discount is applicable against date of deposit
or
date of realisation of cheque.
but this is periodic based.
can any one identify the type business process applicable in R/3.

The Cash Discount calculation starts depending on the Baseline configured in definition of the Terms of Payment in OBB8. You can check there the various options available under base line date.

Lockbox Issue with payment on exact day as Cash Discount Days 1 Due Date

Dear Gurus
We are running into an issue in as much as when we receive a payment against our Lockbox on the exact day as the Cash Discount Days 1 due date the system posts this as an on account posting as opposed to applying the cash against the open receivable and posting the difference to the Cash Discount Account.
E.g. Invoice 10000 Payment term 34 days 2% Net 35. I created the AR invoice today with invoice date and posting date of Oct 9, 2009 and posted the same. Received payment $ 9800 on Lockbox file today Nov 12 using the BAI2 format Lockbox file and found that the system did not even show the invoice # on the Lockbox reports but it recognized the customer based on the MICR # and posted an on account payment. It gave the error" F5 263 Difference too large for Clearing"
The users have prior complained that this situation arises in F-28 as well where they would have to force the discount instead of the system recognizing the same if cash was being applied on the same date as the Cash discount Days 1 due date.
Any help in this regards will be geratly appreciated and points awarded.

Please check the net due date of the document which you are trying to do the payment. As it is critical information to calculate the cash discount.

Where to see Terminated Applicants against a vacancy ??

Dear Friends,
We are using Oracle iRecruitmnet for recruiting. Lots of candidates apply for one vacancy. And HR puts candidates in different statuses like fist interview, second interview, offer and so on.
Also HR termibnates applicats against a certain vacancy.
No I want to see a report where I can see all the terminated applicants against a vacancy.
I have tried it in Core HR (Recruitment Administrator) but I could not find one.
Please let me know, if by any way I can see terminated applicants against a vacancy anywhere in the application.

I was wondering whether it is possible by people folder. Like List Peole by Assignment (View -> Lists ). I have tried out though, but no success.
To my surprise in the list of values for Status 'Terminate Assignment' is there. When I select that, and click on FInd, no data is retrieved.
Is this a functinality provided by oracle to see terminated applicants ? Or I am doing any mistake.
Please have a look into this.

Significance of Pay Date,Direct Deposit,Pay Advice and Cut-Off

Can somebody please tell me how the number of days mentioned against Pay Date,Direct Deposit,Pay Advice and Cut-Off play a role in the payroll processing?
Eg:Direct Deposit of -3 from the end of the month that ie. 28th Jan if it is month of Jan.

In the Date Offset region, you can change the zero default to a negative or positive number of days before or after the period end date. For example, for a semi-monthly payroll, the Cut Off date can be 3 days before the period end date (-3), while the Scheduled Run and Check dates can be 5 and 7 days after this date, respectively.
The Check Date, sometimes called Pay Date, is the date of constructive receipt of pay, on which paychecks become negotiable.
The Scheduled Run Date is the date scheduled for the Regular run of this payroll each period.
The Cut Off date, included for your reference, is the final date for entering or changing payroll information before a run.
These offsets are the defaults for the calendar. You can manually make date changes in the calendar, for example when an offset date falls on a weekend or holiday, by choosing the Period Dates button.

Discount not applicable on some materials

I am coming across a scenario where for few material discount should not be given, there are some condition records for discount which applicable for all the materials.
Please suggest.

Hi,
1. In the material master record in Bsaic data 1 there is a filed called as 'material group.' Maintain this field for those materials for whom the discount is applicable. For those materials on which the discount will not be given do not enter any value in this field.
2. Go to V/03 and create a new condition table and select the field 'material group' along with the previous fields. Save it.
3. Go to V/07, delete the old condition table and assign the new condition table created in step no. 2. Save it.
4. Go to VK11, select the particular discount condition type, select the new key combination in which the field material group is also there and maintain the condition record for the material group.
Now all those materials for which the material group has been maintained , the discount will be given. For the remaining ones, no discount.

BAPI for Changing Applicant Master Data

We are trying to access our SAP R/3 remotely for the creation and
maintenence of Applicant Master Data. We were able to identify the BAPI
"BAPI_applicant_create" for the creation of an applicant but are unable
to determine the BAPI required to maintain / change applicant data. Can
you please assist us in this regard.

I believe since there is no BAPI available so we could use the FM. And as far it being not remote enabled, i think thats not a major problem, we can always make a copy of it and make it remote enabled.
If anyone has any other option in mind, please do share.

Indexes against Date Columns

Dear All,
I am trying to run query and in WHERE clause using DAtes columns but performance is very slow. Can I declares then indexes against date coulmns? If yes what is general formt to create index against Datae column?

Indexing on the date columns would be similar to other column. You can create normal B Tree index on the desired Date column as usual but before creating, keep track on the unique values for column. This is because if your data is like grouping the data per dates, you can even look for Bitmap index too.

I tired it all , this what worked for me : FIRST turn ps3 in to safe mode:Step 1: With the PS3 on turn off the power by holding the power button on the front of the unit till the power light is red.
Step 2:
1. Touch and hold the Power button, you will hear the first beep, meaning the PLAYSTATION 3 is powering on.
2. Continue to hold the Power button and after about 5 seconds, you will hear a second beep, indicating the video reset.
3. Continue to hold the Power button and after about another 5 seconds you will hear a third beep and the system will power off.
Step 3:
1. Touch and hold the Power button, you will hear the first beep, again for the PS3 to power on.
2. Continue to hold the Power button and after about 5 seconds, you will hear a second beep for video reset.
3. Continue to hold the Power button and after about another 5 seconds you will hear a quick double beep. At that point release the Power button. If you succeeded in activating Safe Mode, you will see a message on the screen saying, "Connect the controller using a USB cable and then press the PS button."

5. Then you will see the Safe Mode menu. Next : download ps3 update on playstion website , and put into usb stick: make sure its lile this : PS3/UPDATE/XXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXX is the file you downloaded, and ps3 and update need to be caps, after safe mode out usb for controller in first ONLY, do not put usb stick with update in yet, then after in safe mode go restore setting, this will take you back to the page where you need to put your ps3 controller on again, then it will ask you for update, THEN you put usb stick in, and folow on screen. i tired everything, this way it worked for me, safe mode then update, make sure usb is phat32 like always,

How can I do multiple edits, cleansing against data

We are processing outside data and we want to edit and cleanse the data prior to loading to ensure the data is good and follows normal data referential integrity. We are loading the source data to a SQL Server Table. Can I then read this data and bounce
up against our database to ensure the data is clean? Some of the cleansing would entail table joins. So do I do this through an OLE DB Command to our application tables? And can I use raw SQL with the parameters from each row of the outside data in order to
do the table lookups to our application database? And how do I do that using OLE DB Command?

bear in mind it is an expensive operation so it may take a long time and resources.

Employee discount applied to international data

Ok heres my question i know that for international data plans you are charged only 64.99 for unlimited data but are these plans charged in top of the current data plan for smartphones which are 15.00 and 29.00 or its 64.99 for both domestic use and international use? and second if it is charged only 64.99 for both domestic and international does my employee discount still applies to that plan as well?

Not all plans are eligible to receive a discount. The following plans are not eligible for discount:
Nationwide Unlimited plans,
Some Mobile Broadband plans,
Family SharePlan® Secondary lines,
North America's Choice plans, and
Month-to-month agreements.

Header Discount Condition type Control data

Dear All,
            I Maintained Header and Item discounts and frieght condition type and in header level the system is not calculating header discount or frieght for all items but its taking as item only.

Yes, everything on those channels will consume data from the internet.

Sending Pics does that go against Data

Does sending pics with these smart phones count as data everytime you send one? I noticed when sending a pic on task bar it changes to 3g and some colored arrows are displayed next to it showing it's sending

If you are sharing it via an app or email, then yes it goes against a data allowance.
If you are sending it via a text message, then it does not go against a data allowance, but does go against a texting allowance.

Do MMS messages count against data useage, since I have to have 4g turned on to send and recieve them?

No; a data connection is required to send/receive MMS if you're not using Verizon Messages, but they count against your text plan, not your data plan.

PREDICTION JOIN OPENQUERY against data source view does not work

to do a prediction join with a table defined in a data source view of our cube/mining structures. No matter how I specify the table in the OPENQUERY statement I get: "OLE DB error: OLE DB or ODBC error: Invalid object name 'DataSourceView.dbo.TableName'.;
42S02." I've tried specifying the table name in 1, 2, and 3 parts, with and without the '[]' brackets but get the same error every time. I thought something might be wrong with the table in the DSV so tried putting other tables in the query,
but that produces the same error. Any ideas on the problem?

I want to be able to query a data source view table/named query. This TechNet article seems to imply it is as simple as running the following in a DMX window:

I've also tried:
     select * from OPENQUERY ([MyDatasourceView],'select Column1 from DataSourceTable')
Both result in:
    "Query (1, 1) Parser: The syntax for 'OPENQUERY' is incorrect."
Can we query a DSV table from a DMX query directly with OPENQUERY, or does the OPENQUERY only work within a PREDICTION JOIN? Seems like such a simple case for it not to work.
