Is there anyway online to find out if I get a discount based on the company I work for or do I have to go to the store to find that out? My sister recently bought a laptop from the apple store and she received a discount based on her employer. I searched online and can't find anything. Thanks!

Suggestions for buying iPod?

HELP!! My husband and I would like to buy our daughters (age 10 - 4th grader and age 7 - 2nd grader)iPods for Christmas. Our first thoughts were that to get a good quality "MP3" player...we should be looking at Apple iPods. My daughters being the ages they are...they do not need to store hundreds or thousands of songs. But my husband is thinking that perhaps it would be nice to get them something that has the video screen so that for occassional long trips we could download a video for them (we don't travel enough to warrent a dvd player in our van. For those of you on here who are tech savy and already well into the world of MP3 players, etc. Any recommendations on what to consider buying? We had looked at the shuffles...we are just not sure what to buy. Since we've not had a need for this type of thing before...although we are aware what they are and how to use them...we are not familiar enough with different brands, models, etc. to feel confident in our buying!! HELP! (your suggestion does not have to be Apple brand)

Not familiar enough with other brands to recommend them, but if you are wanting a screen, and you believe they are both responsible enough to not lose/break them, I'd go with one of the new Nanos and let each one of them pick the color they want.
But I would also not let them use the supplied earbuds (which probably will not fit their ears anyway) and buy these for them: http://www.loudenough.com/
If you are concerned about loss/breakage, and can live without the screen, go with a refurbished Shuffle from the Apple Online Store. But I would still buy the Loudenough earphones and protect their hearing.

By "charger," do you mean a USB power adapter that plugs into the wall outlet (used to "charge" the iPod), or are you asking about the USB docking cable that connect the iPod to the computer?

I believe that is a 4th gen iPod. When you say "charger," do you mean the USB docking cable? Or do mean a USB power adapter that you connect to a wall outlet to charge the iPod?

If you happen to have a Mac with a FireWire port, the 4th gen iPod actually ALSO works (better) over a FireWire connection. But you'll have to look for an old FireWire docking cable on eBay (or other online source).

There should definitely be no issue. You can register more than one Apple device with the same Apple ID and get the same apps on both devices without having to pay for the apps again.
Alternatively, if you want all your settings to say the same, do a backup of your old iPod Touch and then whe you receive the new iPod, restore the backup on it and it'll save you the trouble from having to redownload everything.
