Discover a VB Password

We have an Excel 2010 file that has VB macros password protected.  The individual who wrote the code has left the company, have no idea where he is and now need to get into the VB code.  How can I unprotect the VB code?

Hi,
You will see answers here stating there is software out there that can hack and crack the code. Basically you (or better your company) is at a stand still. Software that can crack passwords is software that handles against agreements. Your company had a
password on the file for a reason or the developer placed a password to protect the intellectual property of the code. If you are an employee at that specific company you have to explain that there are two options available. 1. use software that cracks the
password, which i think will be against company policy or 2. accept the fact that the file is password protected and conclude that the file has to be remade.
Tough call to make. I'd say let the company decide and don't go on a personal hunt for the solution here...

  • How can I retrieve a forgotten password for my home wi-fi network?

I have a wi-fi network at home for my iMac, printer, phone and two iPads. On trying to connect a new device I discovered that the password I thought was correct will not work. How can I retrieve the correct password from one of the devices already on the network? If I cannot to that, how can I change the network password for all the devices?

    Hi ...
Open Keychain Access located in HD > Applications > Utilities
    Select Passwords on the left.
Type Wi-Fi (or the name of your Wi-Fi network0 in the search field top right corner of the Keychain Access window.
Then right or control click that keychain then click Get Info then selec the Attributes tab then click:  Show password
You may need to entier your admin password to proceed.

  • Help with access to files after password reset...

I am asking this question on behalf of my Dad who, last week, discovered that the password I had set up for him on his PowerBook no longer worked.
After many attempt and "over the phone" coaching it was clear that something had happened to "corrupt" the password and I ended up having him call Apple support. They seemed to have experienced the problem before and walked him through a process that ended up giving him back access to the computer, but I think via a new user account.
All of the applications are still there (including 3rd party apps that would have otherwise been gone if it was a completely clean install of the system). There are also two folders that say "previous system folder".
He does not appear to have access to any of his old documents, address book, quicken data files etc. I am wondering, if it is at all possible to retrieve these items.
Until now I have been coaching "remotely", but this week I am going to be able to sit at the computer and take a look.
If there are any suggestions as to how to retrieve these docs and data files from an account I would appreciate any advice. I am not a Unix pro but I have mucked around there enough to make myself dangerous and to know that the Super User role is to be treated carefully but may be a way to do what I am hoping to do.
Again, any ideas or guidance would be appreciated.
    Scott

Get info on his current user folder (CMD+I), note the ownership and permissions. Do the same on the old user folder in Previous System and set the old ones to match the new one and click on apply to enclosed items button. If successful, he should be able to drag it onto his Desktop and puts things into the appropriate places within his new user folder.
See http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120 for details on the A&I installation. It should answer all your questions.

  • I didn't change my password yet my macbook pro does not accept it.

I've been trying to log in to my macbook pro that I only bought this past black friday. I put in my password, and it didnt accept it. I didn't change my password either and I know no one else did because they would have to know my password. Is this a glitch? What can I do to fix it. As you can tell i'm very upset because I spent 1,000+ dollars on a computer that wont even let me in on the password that I set.

  • Synchs iphone but won't restore without password

itunes synchs with iphone but won't restore without password to unlock iphone backup files. Have tried every password I know, including the one revealed in keychains, and numeric values such as 0000, etc. to no avail. Have checked other forums and all offer possible solutions such as deleting files from itune restarting and upgrading, jailbreaking and various other terms which I do not understand...all sound iffy and possibly precarious, at best since they are not apple supported forums and some users report success using such methods but others do not. This is an apple issue and should be addressed by apple. How can I discover the wanted password and restore function to my phone, avoid this happening again with future updates, and not have to waste 3 days of my life to recover from an apple generated issue?

  • I have forgotten my password but use a PIN to log in. Is there a way to find my PW?

I have forgotten my password but use a PIN to log in.  Is there any way to discover what my password is or to just reset it? Thanks, Jay

As you have forgotten your Windows password, you need to reset it by following the instructions mentioned on the link below:

  • Keychain password request on login

When I log in (admin account) I am asked for my keychain password. I'm not sure why?
When I enter my password (my login password) I am told that iti is invalid. I looked in the Help (a bit!) and it said the keychain password was the same as the Login password. If that's not the case, which password would it be as I haven't set any others up. Have I??
    iBook 1.42Ghz   Mac OS X (10.4.3)

Your keychain password is usually the same as your login password, but it doesn't have to be. You can manually set the keychain password to be different, or in some situations it can become "out of sync".
Have you perhaps had to reset your password by booting from the install CD? Or have you logged in to another admin account and then used Sys.Prefs to change the password of the account that now has the problem?
In either of the above cases the login password will be changed but the keychain password will not. In those cases the keychain password will still be the original password it had before the change. So you might try using a previous password when prompted by the keychain to see if it works.
If you can discover the keychain password, then you can use Keychain Access to change it's password to match your login password. Then it will unlock automatically when you login and you'll stop getting prompted.
I suppose it's also possible that the keychain password may have become corrupt in some way. If this is the case you may be out of luck.
If you can't get the keychain unlocked after attempting any previous passwords, then you'll likely have to simply delete the keychain and let the system create a new one (which will be created with your login password).
In your home folder, go to ~/Library/Keychains and drag "login.keychain" out of the folder. Then logoff and log back in. This should create a new empty keychain for you and it should be "in sync" with your login password.

  • Password attribute stored as binary

Trying to bind against an iPlanet directory with ADSI. Anonymous
bind is no problem. However, any use of passwords
return 'Inappropriate Authentication' error. I discovered that the
password is stored in binary format. Does anyone know if there is
a "special way" to do a bind against a directory whose passwords are
    stored in binary.
    Thanks.
    Michael

If you are talking about entries like this:
    userPassword:{SSHA}xxxxxxxxxx==
That's the server encrypting the passwords. The password you want to use for the bind is the original unencrypted password.
The system encrypts automatically. That is if you add a user with attribute
    userPassword: foo
and then look at the directory entry, you'll find that "foo" turned into {SSHA}......
But they still login with "foo".

  • Is it possible for someone to hack in your iphone and follow everything you do?

    my phone is acting funny

I suppose if you had find your iPhone enabled there is potential for some to follow your every move
If the managed to discover your iTunes password
But that wouldn't cause your phone to "act funny". You wouldn't know your every move was being watched unless they got bored  and decided to liven things up a bit by randomly locking your phone, downloading useless apps on your dime ultimately wiping it for fun

  • Can't connect via WiFi on one Mac, but another works

One of two iBooks connects to the internet perfectly via an iMac using WiFi, but the other fails.  The Network Diagnostics says it fails on "ISP".  The promblematic iBook's toolbar Airport dropdown shows the correct network for the iMac with a checkmark.
The iMac's preferences Status panel Says "Self-Assigned IP" under "WiFi" in the list of Networks on the left and says "Wi-Fi has the self-assigned IP address 169.254.99.198 and will not be able to connect to the Internet" under Status (On)..... even though the other iBook connects to the internet via the iMac at the same time!
    What is wrong here?
    Mant thanks in advance!

    HACKINTOSH:
Thanks for the reply.  I'm sorry for the confusion.  Yes, I'm talking about sharing internet service on an iMac with two iBooks.  One works, the other doesn't.
After searching on "...self assigned IP address..." I discovered the WiFi password on the iBook that wouldn't connect had an ancient password... for an earlier iMac, I suspect.  Updating that seemes to have fixed the problem....  problem solved!
    Cheers!!

  • OS 10.2 Won't boot even in safe mode

I was having problems with the Finder on my work i-book so reinstalled the OS. The first disc was fine, though the second wouldn't be recognised. Since it said that this disc could be installed later, I quite the installation and rebooted.
I went to the log-in screen and discovered that my password would not be recognised.
So I used the install disc again to reset the passwords, though didn't actually do the installation again (and since it wouldn't let me shut down properly within the Installer I had to reset the computer by just holding down the power button).
Upon restarting the password now worked, though when I logged in I got taken into Darwin. Since I didn't really know what to do I restarted again by holding down the power button.
And now nothing happens. I get to the grey screen where the apple logo is visible and the little spinny icon goes round but nothing happens after that; I've tried with and without the install discs installed (holding down c obviously) and have also tried to do a safe boot following apple's instructions with no joy.
    Anyone got any further suggestions?
    Many thanks,
    t

Sometimes when the 'C' key doesn't work, you can try the Startup Manager described below:
