Discover Miles Denied & Others

Last statement cut my FICO showed up at 760 with Discover, been having their It card for about four years now, good payment history, ran about $10k on it so far and mostly always paid in full. Now that they have a miles rewards program I thought my score was good enough and relationship to get approved, nope, denied. They actually double pulled Experian and Equifax, which has one baddie. The account has been paid but had some lates on it about two years ago. Shame, maybe I can ask them to take a look at my TU report? Barclays CLI request on Ring, denied, they pulled TU too since if I requested it it's always a HP, I called the number on the back of the card to ask if I could speak to someone about the request and maybe get a manual review since I was thinking it was an auto denied for requested in less than 6 months (got the card back in February), lady was not very helpful, she said that if she transferred me it was going to get denied anyways because the "other people" will use the same system that already denied me, maybe I should try the backdoor number... Went and tried the Barclay rewards, wanted to test out if they could use the same HP for the CLI request, got the 10 day message (including another HP on TU)... so I guess I should call the backdoor number on Monday and ask someone competent to take a look at both requests. 760 ain't doing me any good.

A lot goes into their decision besides your Fico score. They look at the whole picture. How you've been charging/paying recently and they can also be a little spooked by a lot of new accts and many inq's over the past 6 month to 2 yrs. Those lates seem old enough but you never now with them. I have a Discover it but never app'd for the miles. Just got in on the Barclay's Arrival+ with as you see a lower score and inq's as follows: 14 - EX, 14- TU, 9 - EQ. I have a few ready to fal off but was still approved with a sl of 10k. I woud recon both of those as soon as you can.

Will my discover miles account shout up on the same page as my discover it card? They said I would receive the card in 5-7 days, do I have to add the card or go to a different site? Thanks in Advance!!!

Got my discover it card about 3 months ago, got a 500 cli yesterday, so I thought I would apply for the discover miles card since I guess I missed the double cash, I was approved so at least I will get 1.5 miles per dollar and then it will be doubled so 3 miles per dollar for the first 12 months.

How to deny other hostname or domain name pointing to same IP address in MySQL

Im using Cento 6.5
and
MySQL version 5.6.25
For example:
IP address:
192.168.1.250
this IP has 2 domain name
1. db.mysqldatabase.com
2. web.mysite.com
i want to block or deny the 2nd domain name in database hostname
if i update our Mysql Connection should be like this

But if i use also web.mysite.com i still connected i want to use web.mysite.com as my url website

Hi Linda, are you referring to the Domain Name showing in the Connectivity Tab of the Linksyssmartwifi utility? The Domain Name is automatically assigned by Comcast. This setting will depend on the type of internet connection that is set up for you by your ISP. Can you give me more details of your Internet connection set up? I'd like to see how it goes. Did Comcast provide you a new Domain Name?

Allowing first multiple consumer to dequeue; deny others

Hi.
We have defined a multiple consumer queue, and in it, we would like to be able to post a message to one or more consumers, but have the message fully consumed by the first consumer that dequeues it.
For instance, suppose a message is enqueued for 'Blue' and 'Red.' The way I understand AQ, both Blue and Red will have to dequeue the record before it is removed. What if, instead, I would like the record to be dequeued by only one of the consumers. So that if Blue dq's it, Red will never see it; and if Red dq's it, Blue will never see it.
Is there a way to do this?

It sounds like all you need to do is to set multiple listeners to false. Multiple listeners implies that the message will be delivered to all listeners. You can set multiple listeners to false but have more than one application pulling (or being event driven) from the queue. In that case only one connection will get the message.

When I replaced my PC desktop with a Mac Mini and hooked up my HP printer to it, I discovered my other computers on the Wi-Fi network could no longer access the printer. The manual says Maverick OS will not allow PC's to access the printer. Any thoughts?

The manual says Maverick OS will not allow PC's to share the printer. Does anyone else have this problem? My printer does not have on-board Wi-Fi but, otherwise, works fine. I shouldn't have to buy a new one. Is there a OS patch out there that would open the printer port for my PC computers?

I'm assuming that on the Mac, the System Preferences -> Sharing -> Printer Sharing -> [X] HP printer -> Everyone can print is selected? That is to say, the Mac will allow anyone to print using the printer, and that you did not try to restrict who can print.
How is your network configured? Bonjour as a protocol will NOT cross a router boundary. If you have 2 or more subnets active with the PCs on one subnet and the Mac on another, that would block the PCs from seeing the Mac.
You could have multiple subnets if you have more than one router, such as an ISP provided broadband modem/router and another WiFi Router. If the PCs are talking to one router and the Mac is talking to another, that could be a 2 subnet situation. The additional routers must be put into bridge mode, which is done differently depending on the router. But the basics are to diable DHCP and NAT services on the secondary router(s) having just one active router on the network.
Also, using Bonjour Browser on my Mac, it is showing me that the printer is being advertised as using Internet Printing Protocol, so if that is something selectable on Windows, maybe you can bypass Bonjour on Windows.

Adobe Media Encoder stopped working in this project, works in others

Adobe Media Encoder just stopped working in my current project (in PPRO CS3). I'd output several MPEG2-DVD and Windows Media Files. Then I went to make one more MPEG2-DVD file, and when I clicked OK in AME, nothing happened. It should open a window to select where I want to put the file, and a few more options. No crash, no freeze, no error messages..and no output.
None of the AME formats work (WMF, Quicktime, etc). But other exports do work. I made my MPEG2-DVD file using Export to Encore.
I opened another project I'm working on, and AME does work in that project.
Back to my current project, and it still doesn't work.
I've rebooted, and uninstalled-reinstalled PP CS3.
Anyone fixed this? Thanks!

After some more playing, I discovered that the other sequences in this project do still export using AME. So I made a new sequence, copied all the media from the problem sequence into the new one, and it exports OK. I lose fairly extensive Encore chapter marking, but that's a minor problem. No way to "cut and paste" chapter markers, I don't suppose?
For curiosity value, if I make a duplicate of the problem sequence, all the media in the duplicate sequence has a red bar (unrendered) except for the parts that have already been rendered, which have a green bar. This is straight transferred DVCam media and shouldn't need rendering. If I add some new video to the sequence, it gets a red bar too. Bizarre. Oh, and it won't export.
I tried a few other tricks with the original problem sequence: delete all media, and replace with one new short clip; delete the chapter markers; shorten the work area bar to just a few seconds and try to export "work area only"; turn off tracks; deselect either audio or video in AME... nothing worked to make this sequence export.
I also tried making a whole new project, and importing this one into it. Nothing changes - the problem sequence still wont' export, a copy of it leaves all media "unrendered..." exact same trouble as the original project. But it was while playing with this new project that I discovered that my other sequences did export, leading me back to the original project. That should have been the first or second thing I checked. Brain-dead Sunday.
Conclusion: something corrupt in the sequence, but darned if I can figure out what. Not the media. Not the chapter markers. There's code in the sequence itself, and I guess that must be it.

How to hide different Viual Studio Projects from each other in one TFS Team Project with areas?

at the moment I try to set up a "good" architecture for projects in TFS for our company.
As often mentioned in TFS documentation we try to reduce the number of Team projects in our company which is organized in different business units (BUs).
One great Team project shall contain a number of different Visual Studio projects, each one belonging to a separate BU.
The grouping is as follows:
Global Team project
       Business Unit A
                     Visual Studio Project A1
                     Visual Studio Project A2
       Business Unit B
                     Visual Studio Project B1
                     Visual Studio Project B2
The programmers in business unit A must not see the Visual Studio projects of Business Unit B, but both groups (A an B) use the same process model (that is the reason why we try to group them in on team project).
I try to put all the projects from both BUs in one TFS team project and separate them logically by an Area hierarchy like mentioned above.
But areas only separate work items from each other, not Visual Studio projects.
In Source Control Explorer I can only assign security issues on team project level (Global Team Project), not on business unit level.
So every developer in BU A can see the Visual Studio projects in BU B...
How can I model these dependencies?

In Source Control Explorer, you can right-click on Business Unit A folder and select
Advanced>>Security… to deny other group(s)’ access permissions on this folder. Then use the same way to set permissions on Business Unit B folder too.

PDF Export = System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'T2Embed': Access is denied

Hello,
I am using the ReportViewer over asp.net pages on a web hosting service. I am generating the reports independently of the 'Sql Reporting Services' windows service. In fact I have 'Sql Report Services' service turned off.
All export works okay when I test the report in IIS7 on my local machine and in Visual Studio. After I FTP the web application to the remote web host the report still works but only the Excel exports properly. The export to PDF or Word generates
the error
System.DllNotFoundException: Unable to load DLL 'T2Embed': Access is denied
Other people have had this problem too but their remedy is to run cacls.exe and fidget around with t2embed.dll. Maybe that will work for a local client machine but that is not something I can do on a web hosts server. They seem to think the font
has security issues and a hotfix may be causing it. The next thing I will try will be to use a generic font in my report like Arial or Courier but I doubt that will fix it.
Any clues?

Please try to check the permission on "T2Embed" file, which is located in the C:\WINDOWS\system32 and C:\Windows\SysWOW64

Is a Miles card right for me?

Hi, I've utilized this forum a long time and reading all the posts and helpful responses has been invaluable, so thank you to everyone for that. I have a specific question that I cannot figure out a clear answer for. Here is all the pertinent information. 1 - I want to take a trip overseas once a year for a week to get to seeing the world. I would love to travel business class if I could do it for the same price as coach, however, wouldn't we all? ;-) 2 - My FICO score is 722 3 - I spend about 1.5k to 2k a month on cards that I pay off the same month. 3 - I will be focused on finding cheap flights to Europe for 2 people and visting 2-3 bordering countries a trip staying in the best bang for buck reasonably priced hotels I can find. 4 - I do not travel for work and get none of those free miles some other folk do. So, would I benefit from a Miles card or should I just stick to my Cashback cards? If I would benefit, how so, and what card would you recomend?

As always, the answer is run the numbers for your spend and look at redemptions. Redemptions have a significant impact on reward value with miles/points cards (that are not simply restricted cash back cards). You need to look at the transfer partners for a given program and see if you can make use of those partners. Also consider the conversion rates and fees when calculating reward value. Consider how long it would take you to accrue the miles/points youwould need based on your spend, earn rates and redemption rates and calculate what value you would get per mile/point. Compare that to what your spend would earn you via cash back and go with the larger number and/or other considerations important to you. I have arbitrarily selected a United flight from Houston to London (IAH-LHR) as an example. This flight in Novmember would cost $1,980 or 60K miles. At a 1x earn rate that means 60K in spend is required to accumulate enough UR points to transfer 1:1 to United. With 18-24K spend that's nearly 3 years of spend. However, your spend may fall into categories that qualify for higher earn rates so you have to take that into consideration. You might also be able to find sign on bonuses with cards that help to get you there more quickly. In any case, if you had a 2% card you'd earn $1,200 cash back on that same $60K spend. If 3 years is too long to wait to redeem then taking the cash back and just paying for the flight may make more sense even though you'd get $780 in additional value via UR in this particular instance. The problem with these questions is that there are a lot of variables at play. Not only do your spend categories and the earn rates on a card have an impact but the travel companies you can use and the flights you redeem for will also have an impact on the value of your rewards. Some programs do not transfer 1:1 to travel partners. Some transfers will incur additional fees. The flights you're looking to redeem for may have a higher or lower dollar value. You have to look at the details of the different rewards programs, see what suits you, consdier your travel plans and do some number crunching to compare. It is possible to end up getting much more value with travel cards, however it is also possible to end up with much less value. It all depends on the specifics. Lemming wrote:

Using that info might be an easier approach than the general info I provided above. Given that you want to to do this and that your spend is 18K to 24K annually, what programs will allow you to redeem for the travel that you're looking to do? If you're only earning 1x on your spend then can you redeem 18K to 24K miles/points for international travel? Does your spend qualify for higher earn rates that would change things? Can you get sign on bonuses that would help you get there? If not then your only option may be to go cash back and apply the cash back against your international travel. It won't complelety offset those costs but it would help to mitigate some of them.

Protection to deny variant modification

Hi everybody !
We have some variants which have been created by a normal user (who had of course the authorisation) who set the "No modification" flag to deny other users to modify them. That user has now left the company, and the new employee must modify those variants but he can't. We can re-create that user but we hope it exists another solution (licence purpose).
Could anyone telle me if he (she..) knows a solution to allow that new user (and only he) to modify them without unsetting that flag ?

Yes, we have considered to transport ot. However, we would like to keep the "historic" of files. If we transport it, we will overwrite the file everytime we execute it . This is the reason why we would like to modify it without opening the client.

Server Software - No more Deny Permission Feature!!??

So unfortunately the new Server software for Mountain Lion no longer offers the "Deny" permission option. I'm currently using my Mac tower to host specific folders and sharing them via FTP. You used to be able to "Deny" others from seeing folders you didn't want them to see. Now when people log in via FTP, they can see all the other folders that are currently in my share point. Granted I haven't given them read and write permissions to the other folders so all they can do is "see" them, and can't actually open and access them.
Has anyone found a workaround for this? Apple care said I can do a "chmod" function in Terminal but I'm not really code savvy and don't feel like going this route if I don't have to.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Well, there is one way to get your hands on the "delta" installer packages. Normally, the packages are downloaded, installed, then deleted. However, you can select "Download updates automatically" in the Software Updates preferences. With this option selected, updates will be downloaded in the background whenever new updates are available. When the download is complete, you will be prompted to install them.
Instead of installing right away, you can then find the packages and copy them to some other location.
A better solution might be to download updates manually. They can be found here.

Unable to discover AP350 using WLSE

I am using WLSE 1.3 and using AP350 12.01T. It always give me snmp unreachable. unable to read cdp cache. What can be the problem. I put the seed device as the switch that is connected to the AP and the device credential is the AP that I am going to discovered. Any other settings?

I can't see others machines in my network

I have this problem: I have a network (with the same range of ip in computers, the same mask, etc). In this network, the wired devices can discover and see others devices in "network places" or "network map". But, when I connect
with my laptop (windows 7 pro) I can't. I can't see in network places, but if I write in explorer bar "\\IP-otherMachine" I can see his shared folders. I connect with my laptop with wireless wpa2-enterprise (aes & peap). Obiusly I have checked
"discover other devices..." in home group options. Can anybody help me?

I mean that I always can to access shared files and folder's other machines in my network. The problem is:
If I want a file of my other computer named "Example", I must to write in Explorer "\\IP-for-example-machine" (172.17.10.111 for example). But, if I click in "Network" in any Explorer folder or "Start button,
click Control Panel,
click Network and Internet,
and then click Network and Sharing Center.
In the upper-right corner, click View full map. "
in "Network and Sharing Center" options in Control Panel, I can't see any PC.
If I write "\\Example" in Explorer I can't see shared folders of Example machine, but if I write the IP I can.
All of this in Wireless. In wired, all is normal.
And these option that you said, I have checked, the problem still.
