Discover page won't update?

I use the discover page all the time to find new music, and it usually updates with new recommendations every day or so. But lately it hasn't updated in a while, at least a week. I was wondering what the issue is and if anyone else has been experiencing the same problem.

Ok, they must've just updated it because I checked when I posted this question and it was still the same, but now it is updated. Hopefully they fixed the issue because it used to update all the time for me.

  • Pages won't update to 5.1, refuses to open documents

First of all, pardon me while I scream. AAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGHHHHH!
iWork! I've stood by you all these years and this is what you do to me!!!!!
OK. So - Keynote and Numbers recently updated in late January, but not Pages. Today (18 February), I tried to open a Pages file and it won't open. The error message says that I need a newer version of Pages to open this document. I check and my version of Pages is 5.0. The app store says the latest version is 5.1 but it also tells me I have no updates available and I can't update or reinstall it because the button in the App Store just says "installed" for Pages.
    Can anyone help please??
First off, why does Pages refuse to update? And, how can a simple upgrade from 5.0 to 5.1 immediately and automatically render my old documents UNOPENABLE? This is so ridiculous. I want to cry/scream because I'm wasting hours and hours now trying to open this one document.
    Please help? Thank you.

That is not a "button" that is the icon and it is for the older version of Pages.
You have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5 the Pages '09 files can not be opened in Pages '09.
Once opened and saved in Pages 5.1 files can not be opened in Pages 5.
Anything that is saved to iCloud is also converted to Pages 5 files.
All Pages files no matter what version and incompatibility have the same extension .pages.
Pages 5 files are now only compatible with themselves on a very restricted set of hardware, software and Operating Systems and will not transfer correctly on any other server software than iCloud.
Apple has removed over 95 features from Pages 5 and added many bugs:
    http://www.freeforum101.com/iworktipsntrick/viewforum.php?f=22&sid=3527487677f0c 6fa05b6297cd00f8eb9&mforum=iworktipsntrick
Archive/trash Pages 5, after exporting all Pages 5 files to Pages '09 or Word .docx, and rate/review it in the App Store, then get back to work.

  • First page won't update

I just updates my site, which contains a fait amount of photo pages, a blog, a welcome page and an «about me» page. The update works fine, but the welcome page will not change from what it was. The «topics» lines will not change, so there is a lot missing. All the other pages are fine though.
I rebuild a page that looked exactly the same as the page I wanted to put up as the welcome page, then erased the old one... Still, it publishes the old one first (which was erased from iWeb...) and then, if I click, lets say, on the blog, and then, on the welcome page, it will put my new one...
Is there a way that I don't know to make my new opening page the official/working page that shows up when a person loads on my site?
if you want to check it out: web.mac.com/fremilie
    It's all in french though.
    Thanks for the help!

    Hello Em
It sounds like a caching issue, the first thing to do is clear your browser cache, in Safari, go to Safari>Empty Cache..
You could also try putting a ? at the end of the url in the address bar, this forces your browser to call the most recent version of the page that it can find.
Thirdly, the .mac servers sometimes seem to take a little while to reflect your changes, again I think that this is a caching issue, at their end not yours. I normally find that by the next day all is well.
It looks OK to me, but then I dont know what it is supposed to look like!!

  • Child pages won't update

I have a template "main.dwt.php" that has a spry menu, I updated a link on the spry menu to another page in the site, but the child page does not update.
I'm having weird results with templates in DWCS3, don't know if it's worth it for a 20 page site. Sometimes it updates other pages and sometimes not.
Now on the other hand, I updated some text on the main template on a side bar and after I saved the template DW did ask me if I wanted to update the other pages.
    Any recomendations for this problem??
    Have a good holiday weekend!
    Kevin

Is the Spry menu in an editable region?  A 20-page site is ideal for Templates.....
Here are seven common mistakes that will result in changes not propagating from Template to child -
    1.  Rename the Templates folder
    2.  Move the Templates folder to some other folder level in the site other than root level
    3.  Move a template out of the Templates folder.
    4.  Make changes to an editable region of the template (which will not propagate)
    5.  Assume that template changes can be uploaded to the server without also uploading the changed local files
    6.  Corrupt the site cache so that the link between template and child page is broken
7,  Improperly create your child pages by simply opening the template, adding page specific content, and resaving the template with an *.html extension rather that its *.dwt extension. (you can tell if this is the case by looking at the code on a child page - if you see anything like <!-- TemplateBeginEditable... then this is what you have done)
The 6th problem can be repaired by using SITE | Advanced > Recreate Site Cache, and the six others can be fixed by just not doing them.  Have you done any of those?

  • Template pages won't update

    Hi,
I am making a website for somebody and for now I am looking
at it in a folder on my site. I am having trouble with the template
pages not updating when I make changes to the template. Would it be
because I have a folder named Template in my site and another one
within the folder where the other site is? If so, how can I fix it?
    Thank you,
    Charley

Here are six ways to make changes not propagate from Template
    to child -
    1. Rename the Templates folder
    2. Move the Templates folder to some other folder level in
    the site other
    than root level
    3. Move a template out of the Templates folder.
    4. Make changes to an editable region of the template (which
    will not
    propagate)
    5. Assume that template changes can be uploaded to the server
    without also
    uploading the changed local files
    6. Corrupt the site cache so that the link between template
    and child page
    is broken
The latter problem can be repaired by using SITE | Advanced
    > Recreate Site
Cache, and the five others can be fixed by just not doing
    them. Have you
    done any of those?

  • Iweb/ pages won't update to add new pics+info.

Does anyone know why iweb will only update pages when it feels like it?
I have tried clearing the cache, updating one page at a time, deleting pages...
but it does't seem to work!

Remember that this would be the case regardless of what tool you used. iWeb is uploading the information just like an FTP program would upload the information to any other host. Caching is what happens when you view content and it happens to any sites. I think iWeb's ease and quickness is a testament to how many people might not even understand the processes behind creating a web site, but are nonetheless able to turn out some impressive stuff!
One thing I did to make sure I'm always getting the latest stuff is that I didn't visit my site right before publishing AND I didn't visit it until I'm sure there are no more major changes to make. This way, what gets cached will be the most recent info.
It's not really a problem for me anymore as it appears that I could make a change now, refresh my browser, and it's there. But for you, wouldn't be a bad idea to pick that up as a habit.

  • Url is correct but page won't update

i'm having an infrequently re-occuring problem where I get to a webpage and - at some point pulldown to a new bookmark or hit the back button or do something similar and the webpage that Safari is on stays static but the url obviously updates.
I can run a Reload page and I can keep pulling down to other bookmarks or continue clicking back or forward and it stays on the same page. I feel like I am usually around the Wordpress help website when this happens but that could be totally way off.
Is there something that I can delete to try and refresh Safari is someway? Is there some other isssue that may be involved here?
    Thanks.

    Alright,
Here it is, in sequence, starting with deleting the cookies (please note that by clicking on Details, in the window as shown below, you'll get to selectively delete some cookies, but not all of them), then clearing history and cache:
More to follow in my next post, since obviously, you can't upload more than 5 pictures in any given post...

  • Pages won't update from 4.3 to 5.2

When I open pages and check the version I see 4.3, when I go to the App Store on my Mac it says the program is installed and up to date even though the current version is 5.2.  How do I force an update? Should I uninstall all together? What is the best way to uninstall? it's been a long time since I had to on a Mac.
    Thanks,
    Merlin

When you installed Mavericks, the older versions were rounded up and placed in a folder in the Applications folder titled iWork '09. The new iWork apps are scatter4ed alphabetically in the Applications folder with your other apps. If you are opening these apps from the Dock, you still have shortcuts to the old apps there. You will need to find the new apps in the Apps folder and drag and drop each of them to the Dock to get new short cuts to the new apps.

  • FTP Pages won't update

Getting to the angry side of frustrated, what with all the crazy 'helpful' options they've thrown in there.
I created a page and uploaded it via ftp to my host company (not Adobe), this upload worked fine.  I then made alterations to the page and uploaded, using ALL PAGES, only CHANGED pages, no matter what the changes are NOT making it through.
They appear in the 'edit in browser' somehow, but not on my site.
Yes, I HAVE cleared the cache, and in fact grabbed my ipod and opened it for the first time ever on that machine, and it finds the first version but none of the changes.  It blows my mind because this works gracefully and flawlessly with the bargain tool Sitespinner, and yet Muse happily chugs along and tells me it worked, but no.
What else is there to try?

    Thanks JT,
I use www. when uploading. Haven't tried http:// though. It's hard to tell whether that would matter because it's pretty inconsistent. But worth trying.
Agreed, it can't be caches. I got the same result as you when visiting the site from a new device.
As far as I understand routers themselves don't hold copies of webpages, the device does. Routers do hold a route table (type of cache), but i don't think we could visit the site at all if these were corrupt? Don't quote me on that. I fixed a different issue with pages not loading by resetting my router last week. (Switch it off for at least 2 minutes). Might be worth a try.
I'm on a mac, so I don't know how to refresh using f5! haha
I'm wondering whether it has something to do with this thread: Muse 2014 Crashes During FTP Upload. I've been having this issue as well. In which case we might see and improvement in the upload to live in the couple of days?

  • Page won't update in browser

Hello. I have been working on a site and everything was going
along fine. Then I made two changes - one to the style sheet and
one to an image. I preview in browser and neither are changed. But
the style sheet is changed and so is the image.
I have tried purging the cache but it does not help.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Laura

OK - I tried renaming the .swf, but then the index.html that refers to the new named .swf isn't getting refreshed - the browser loads the old index.html with the old .swf reference.

  • HT201064 my pages won't update yet my app store tells me it has updated.

I need to convert .cwk christmas list to something

There have been several threads here regarding this; take a look at these:
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/15284265#15284265
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4650
The consensus appears to be that someone is either running pirated software or it may or may not have anything to do with the trojan appearing in several places.
Contact the Apple store and, if you are running any pirated software, get rid of it.

Please elaborate on what exactly you mean by it "won't open".
Do you try to launch it and get an error message from the Finder (for example, something like "This application is damaged and cannot be launched....")? Does an icon for the application ever appear in the Dock when you try to launch it? Does it start to launch and then immediately crashes (Finder will display an "unexpectedly quit" dialog)? Or does it start to launch and never seems to "finish" launching (in other words, it basically hangs and is unresponsive)?
If the application crashes, please post the contents of the crash log here.
Otherwise, if the application seems to be hanging, can you, before attempting to launch it, open the Console.app application (it's in the /Applications/Utilities/ folder), and see if anything is reported when you attempt to launch it? If so, please post it here.

  • Pages won't open after I downloaded some of your updates. HELP

Pages won't open after I downloaded some Apple Updates

First, we are all just users like yourself so it's not "your" updates. Which updates have you applied & in what order?
Quite a few users have had problems. From what I've read of those who have had success, this is what I suggest. It all depends on how you obtained Pages in the first place.
If you bought Pages from the Mac App Store:
Delete the Pages.app from your Applications folder. You will need to enter your password to do so.
Launch Mac App Store  & click on Purchases. You should now see an INSTALL button. Click that, enter your password, if necessary, & you should now have the latest version.
If you installed Pages from a retail box or purchased a license from the downloaded trial:
First, you must make sure the applications are where the installer initially put them. The updaters are very picky. If the location is not where the updater is programmed to look or if the folder doesn't have the name the updater looks for, it will not work. The applications cannot be renamed or moved. All three applications must be in the iWork '09 folder in Applications. That iWork folder must be named iWork '09. If it doesn't have the '09 Software Update won't find them & the updaters won't work.
Now, choose Software Update from the Apple menu, from System Preferences or launch the Mac App Store & click Updates. You should get a window similar to this screenshot. Now click the Update button next to iWork 9.2.
Alternatively, you can download the standalone update here. http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1563

  • Template "main.dwt" won't update template pages

    Hi there,
I'm super new to dreamweaver and I'm having a problem at the minute with the template. I've got my pages, etc, but I need to apply my logo image in the header sector and also an anchor link at the bottom and top of the main content body. So, my biggest problem really is that when I click the line, which highlight's the header, and make it into a "New Editable Region" and name it, like, "banner_image" or whatever and put my banner in there, and then click "Save All"; nothing happens.
I mean, it's worked before but I don't understand why it won't update my other pages into editable regions so I can add the banner to all pages. I would've tried to add it in manually, but stupid me, I realised that the headers weren't editable, still.
And I can't even update anything on the template page, really. I was wondering if there was a solution to this maybe?
I'm using CS4 at college, but I've been coming home at working at it on my laptop (both macs) with CS6.
Please help, I spent around five hours this morning in class pulling out my hair because my div tags were all over the shop. Boo!
    Thanks,
    Andrew!

    Hi Nancy,
Thanks for the quick respones! Honestly, I only used them because we were told to by our lecturer, which now I'm second guessing. Just for clarification, you would use Editable Regions on the child pages (i.e. not the template)? Here's the html
