Discover Plus works with internal IP, Gives error with External IP

Oracle 9i Discoverer plus works with internal IP but when I try to access using the external IP it gives error while trying to load workbook wizard.
Error : Unable to Connect to Discoverer Application contact Administrator

Well a virtual host will certainly help working with a firewall its may mode of operation is to allow a different IP and / or DNS URL to work.
Are you sure the virtual host you added is the correct one as per what you want to do? I ask because you may have one in there for a different reason.
As I mentioned earlier though, whilst I am happy to contribute and try to help I am by no means an expert in doing what you are trying to do. I've always thought that changing a name like this would involve a re-install of the server which is something I believe you are trying to avoid. Personally I don't recall seeing a situation like yours work without re-installing which is why I encouraged you to speak with Support.

This means that your customization is wrong then...
In KE4J or KEPC you have assigned costing keys to your material types or some other combination... You should have done this config in a way that costing key is not called for in the case of non valuated materials...
In Ke40 you have defined costing key where in you have specified "Issue error msg if no cost estimate found".. This costing key is assigned in KE4J or KEPC in a way that it is getting called even in case of non valuated materials...
Do you have a separate mat type for non valuated material? If yes, remove this mat type from KE4J/KEPC..
If you dont have separate mat type i.e. in the same mat type if you have both valuated and non valuated, then you have a problem.. You would get stuck in that case

Diagnosis
In Profitability Analysis (CO-PA), the system tried to valuate a line item using the current standard cost estimate.
In order to determine the current plan period, the system needs to read the valuation segment of the material master.
The system has found that the current plan period is not filled forproduct "117122" in plant "UBE1".
We have the follow configuration in trans.: KE40:
. Determine material cost estimate
   . Transf. Standard Cost Estimate
. Costing Variant
. Control Data for Standard Cost Estimate
   . Period Indicator = "Current Standard Cost Estimate acc. to entry in mat master
. Addiitonal data CO-PC
    . Transfer cost estimate in controlling area currency "activated"
We think the reason about our error is because the field above is activated and some configuration more is necessary for this case. For examplo: Trans.: OKYW and this one was not configurated yet.
Do you know what happend?
If we need to configure some transation, or sonly process the cost estimate?

It is happenning in a Client that some people are doing the configuration.
Before we didin't have in KE40, the fiel "Transfer cost estimate in controlling area currency" activated.
And now, the people activate that in this new Client and I don't know the impact about that.
I think we have to make the configuration in OKYW.
The other transation you told me, we don't have any information.
Could you tell me some other idea what happend?
Message error is just "Message no. KE350"
Abou claculate the cost:
It was calculated by trans.: CK11N for future planning and the real wasn't not possible to release because this material already have moviments.
Could you tell us is there is some thing more to do?

Kindly assist on the same?

If this material is mto material go to t.code KE40 and maintain define access to standard cost estimate define cost key with
"Transfer sales orde cost estimatex".
If it is mts material define costing key with Transfer std cost estimate and in costing data
costing variant : ppc1
costing verstion: 1
period indicator: Release std cost estimate matching with goods issue or material costing matching posting date.
This will resolve ur problem.

Having trouble with itunes update. Error with itunes64.msi. Windows 8.1 64 bit. I tried uninstalling, but I am stuck now trying to reinstall.
It says itcan't find the itunes64.msi destination folder.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:

BO Mobile url gives error with hostname

Dear All,
We had done the BO Mobile installation for DEV Landscape and it is compelted without any errors.
Now when we are testing the URL with the localhostname it is working fine and gives result.
But the same url with the PUBLIC IP Address(Hostname is not yet finialized) is giving time out error.
Do I need ot define the public ip/host name any where is Tomcat Configuration or is it due to any network/hostname configuration issue.
Any idea please suggest.

Hi Kumar,
it seems that your connections are fine, as you are able to connect using localhost.
however, if using public IP it is trying to time out, may be because, it is either failing to resolve the external to internal IP ( NAT ) or proxy settings can cause the problem with public IP.
Check with your network Admin, if you are able to use public ip and open http://publicip:8080 from your ipad?

It's a warning, not an error. From the API:
The serialization runtime associates with each serializable class a version number, called a serialVersionUID, which is used during deserialization to verify that the sender and receiver of a serialized object have loaded classes for that object that are compatible with respect to serialization. If the receiver has loaded a class for the object that has a different serialVersionUID than that of the corresponding sender's class, then deserialization will result in an InvalidClassException. A serializable class can declare its own serialVersionUID explicitly by declaring a field named "serialVersionUID" that must be static, final, and of type long:
ANY-ACCESS-MODIFIER static final long serialVersionUID = 42L;
If a serializable class does not explicitly declare a serialVersionUID, then the serialization runtime will calculate a default serialVersionUID value for that class based on various aspects of the class, as described in the Java(TM) Object Serialization Specification. Seeded LOV in OA Page works on internal server, does not in external server

I am using the appraisal creation page '/oracle/apps/per/selfservice/appraisals/webui/MASetupDetailsPG'. Here we have a LOV that lists the appraisal template.
The LOV returns records when Pressing 'Go' from the LOV Search page while accessing from internal server.
However, while performing the same steps from external server, on clicking 'Go' , we get 'No Search Conducted'. ideally , we'll expect the records to come up (or) no results match the chosen criteria. However in this case, it simply gives 'No Search Conducted'.
The 'About this Page' on LOV Page does not show the VO/AM details from external server.
I have checked the following:
1. Class path is same while accessing from both external and internal server
2. Page personalisations are fairly starightforward, just prompts,instruction text changes etc
3. There is no VO/AM customisation. This was done by checking jdr_utils from apps. i suppose this is just application-wide and cannot be checked at server level. pls validate my statement.
4. I have tried 'Diagnostics' using 'About this Page'. It works internally and gives the LOV query with bind parameters. However when I try to do 'Diagnostics'-->Show log on Screen, the screen just hangs before i can see the 'log Level' list on the screen. So I am unable to take trace even from external server.
5. Few other LOVs work from external server. But this one does not.
What could be the cause and how do i debug further?

As far as I know, if he does what you suggest he won't be able to resolve the "main" domainname.
The internal DNS will think it is the SOA for the "whole" domainname, including subdomain or not, and woun't ask any other DNS. So he needs to add all public IPs/names in his DNS if using the same domainname.
Delegation of a subdomain, this requires both DNS using public IPs:

I guess this is "wishful thinking":
IF he (most likely woun't happen) could/be allowed to do zone transfers from a DNS hosting the "main" domainname and run that zone as a slave/secondary on his internal DNS it should work. It wouldn't be ugly if it can be done without adding his internal DNS IP as a NS record. I don't know about notifying the slave about changes to the main domain then though.

Sqlplus exit with bind variable gives error

I want to return the ID-value from an insert-statement back to the OS, but I can't catch it properly in a variable to exit that variabel. here's the script:
variable logid NUMBER;
select id_seq.nextval into :logid from dual;

---values :logid..... -> nothing to do with the problem
exit :logid;
I get this:
SP2-0670: Internal number conversion failed
To make a minimum test, I do:
variable logid NUMBER;
select 5 into :logid from dual;
exit :logid;
but I still get that error !
what am I doing worng here ?
it is a number isn't it ?
why do i get a conversion-error than ?
how do I fill and return a variable correctly ?

Your problem is with your select statement. SELECT...INTO is PL/SQL, not SQL, and can not be used to set a variable. Alternatives:

are caused by the fact that jboss doesn't explode the
uix install zip. uix needs access to the local file
system to store images and style sheets. try unzipping
the zip file and make uix is configured properly to

I have Windows XP and can't sync my Ipod Touch with itunes. Gives error 13019. I did all the recommendations recommended, including unchecking the sync and resyncing all the music, but it came up again. No voice memos or videos checked. Help! Please!

Again, I went through the "fixes" recommended, but none of them have worked. Please help! I can't get any of my new music that I just bought onto my Ipod! It fails at the last second with that 13019 error code even after removing all the music and re-syncing. Thanks.

Thank you, but I did that. I de-selected and then re-selected but because the 13019 still won't allow the sync, all it did was completely delete everything on my Ipod! I now have no songs on my Ipod when at least before, I had all my songs but the new 12 songs! I'm freaking!

The above program works on my Windows desktop. If I try this in Solaris, OCILogon fails and gives an error. If I check the value of rc, I find that it is -2. I can connect to the database using SQLPlus, but not through the program. Not sure how to debug this...
Any pointers ?

Did you make the required port entry in the /etc/services file? You will need to add the gateway service port there. Then try to run your program.

Reed solomon VI gives error with higher values of n and k.

I am receiving the error message "Error -21872 occurred at mod_Validate RS code prms.vi"
If I use n = 15 and k = 11, it works fine. But if I use n = 64 and k = 32, it does not work and gives above mentioned error.
Can anyboody guideme how to fix it.

0COMP_CODE gives error with 0CURRENCY in RSECADMIN

We have created Analysis Authorization and secured the Infoprovidors through company code (0COMP_CODE). All was working well since last week. Now yesterday some change was made to the infoobject 0COMP_CODE and the Analysis Authrorizations are not working. In RSECADMIN when you try to pull up the company codes in the 0COMP_CODE infoobject it gives me a strange error which says "Please enter a valid value for characteristic 0CURRENCY ". Please let me know if anybody has any idea about how to fix this error.

try to upload the global settings via rsa1->infosources, right click on your infosource and select transfer global settings. After that, try to reload.
