Hi,
The Discoverer user guide can be referenced on-line (http://download.oracle.com/docs/html/B13987_04/toc.htm)
Is that the documentation you were looking for?

My car does not start please tell me why?
Even if I do not know why my car does not start I know what brand it is. Why do you not know the name of the product you are working with?
There is no product named simply OEM. So the question still remains. Is it OEM Grid Control or OEM DBConsole?

  • Graphs in Discover Viewer

I can't see the graphs using Viewer, though they have been generated using the Web based Discoverer Plus. Have tried the xhost + etc. Have changed the properties file to change the display setting. Any body done it, and has the steps needed?
This is for Solaris (8) on SUN.

I am running 9iAS on SuSe Linux SLES, and have done all of the settings from editing the opmn.xml file, to editing the configuration file, installing the xvfb etc.
I have not found any solutions on why I can not view my charts/graphs in Viewer or in Portal(can view worksheets in portal) Can anyone please give us an answer on how to solve this problem PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!Anyone at Oracle maybe??????
I don't know if this might have something to do with the fact that I got 9iAS installed on one machine?

  • Discover plus vs Discoverer Viewer

    Hi ALL,
Can someone tell me the difference between Discover plus
and Discover Viewer. Does Discover Viewer require
    J-initiator?
    Thanks in advance
    Joe

    Try this FAQ http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/discoverer/index.html
I guess you could say that Plus is Java-based and Viewer is browser-based.

  • Copy/Clone Discover Weekly playlist to your playlists for longterm listening.

Spotify's new Discover Weekly playlists are pretty great. What would make them better would be the ablilty to copy/clone them to your playlists for longterm listening since they get replaced every week.

  • DROID RAZR issues with status bar - Winamp

When i pull the status bar all the way down it is really hard to get it to stay locked.  It just keeps flying back up to its normal position.  Winamp is also borked

If your Having Issue Linking too Winamp an other Stuff with it you might Give this A Look an see if can Help Ya:
You need to install both the Winamp for Android and the latest Winamp Media Player for your PC.
    Step 1::
On your Android device, download Winamp for Android.
    Step 2:
When you initially launch the application you'll see a "Winamp Help" screen. Click on the "Wi-Fi Sync" button and following the onscreen instructions. If you don't see the Winamp Help screen, simply launch Winamp and from the Home screen press the Menu button (hard button), go to "Settings" and "Enable wireless sync".
    Step 3:
Make sure your PC and Android phone are on the same Wi-Fi network.
    Step 4:
From your PC, download & install Winamp Standard (free) or Winamp Pro (premium). Version 5.6 or later is required. Please note that Wi-Fi sync with Winamp for Android will not work with "Winamp Lite". After launching Winamp you will be prompted to "Add Media to Library" or "Import from iTunes".
    Step 5:
From the Media Library tab, select "Devices" in the navigation panel (left-hand side of screen).
    Step 6:
Your Android device should now be visible in the "Discovered" area of the "Devices" view. If not, click the "Discover" button. You'll also want to be sure that your device is not in sleep mode.
The "Discovered" view only indicates available devices. To sync with your device, you will first have to attach it.
    Step 7:
To attach a device, double click on your device icon (or single click on the attach overlay button). This will send a pairing notification to your device.
    Step 8:
After clicking "Attach", a notification will be sent from the Winamp Media Player to your Android device asking you if you would like to allow Wi-Fi pairing. Click allow.
    Step 9:
Once you have selected "Allow", you should now see your device in the "Attached" area of the "Devices" view. Additionally, you will see your device name appear under the "Devices" node in navigation panel.
(Note: You only have to pair your phone once. After initial pairing, your device should automatically appear in the attached state. You may be prompted to pair again after upgrading to a newer version of Winamp for Android).
At this point your Wi-Fi set-up is complete and you are ready for wireless syncing.
    Step 10:
Once your device is "Attached", mouse over the device icon and click on the "Sync" overlay button. Alternatively, you can manually drag and drop files in your "Audio" library to your device (pictured below).
You also have the option of setting up your Preferences by right-clicking on your device or by going to Options >> Preferences >> Portables >> [Device Name]. Learn more about sync preferences and settings.

  • Problem in passing url

    Hi Everyone,
I have a issue in my application. I would be glad if any could help me with this.
I have a couple of parameters on my main page which the user can select and then click on the link below to open a report filtering on the basis of the parameters chosen. The link(displayed dummy below) would look like this...
    http://myapplication.com/discover/viewer?cn=a_123&eul=eul_abcd&.........¶m1=Applications¶m2=Tools & Others
Here param 2 value is "Tools & Others" but since there is '&' in the link it is passing just Tools into the next page ignoring & Others.... and so the report doesnt open up correctly. If there is no '&' in the parameters selected, then the link opens up correctly.
I hope I am clear on my problem.... Please Help!
    Thanks,

    Hi Scott,
Thanks for the solution, it works.... wonder why I didnt think of it before :)
    Thanks again!

  • What's up with the fat characters in my PDF? (I and L)

Outlined type in illustrator (CS 1) exported to PDF and then combined (2 pages) in Acrobat makes my resultant file have "FAT" characters, namely the I and Ls, respectively. Acrobat 6.0.2 professional, Illustrator CS 1. HELP!

    Guys,
this issue has just come to light for me in the last couple days.
Here is what I believe is happening:
Some outlined text or even graphics that are nice even rectangles in illustrator are changed to stroked lines in Acrobat. And only in Acrobat from what I've seen.
I found this out by digging for a while in Acrobat, and discovering View > Wireframe!!!!!
Try this with your files, and you'll see exactly which characters and objects are being affected. The biggest news to me from my customer, and the reason I've dug into this SO tenaciously, was that IT WILL SHOW UP ON THE PRINTED PIECE!!!!!!!!!
So, far I've found this to be true only when the pdf file is printed from Acrobat. The stroked line weights are imperfectly generated by Acrobat, and apparently subject to interpretation by the DPI of the printer used!!
If your client takes the file back into illustrator, it will print fine, view fine even in Outline mode, and continue to give us that warm safe feeling convert to outlines has always given us in the past.
TAKE NOTE ADOBE, YOU NEED TO INFORM USERS AS TO WHY ACROBAT DOES THIS!!
(Steve Ð hinting?... outlined text is vector art, and unless you create it in Corel Draw, it is scalable to ANY size without degredation. Make sure you know what your talking about before you condemn a valid and often necessary feature!)

  • OracleDiscoverer4i service terminated with service-specific error 6.

    Hai Friends..
Tried installing 9iAS 1.0.2.1.0 on NT. When I tried to start the Discoverer4i service got this error. When i am running Discover Viewer it is saying that Communication error or ORB internal error.
    I wouid appreciate any help.

Navigate to the drive:\%oracle_home%\DISCWB33 directory in a DOS prompt. Type in dis33ws. This executable should run. It will give you output similar to this:
    D:\orant\DISCWB33>dis33ws
Setting up the Operation Mode and Application Name
    Session name: OracleDiscovererSession
    Preference name: OracleDiscovererPreferences
    Setting the creator of DCSThreadMonitor
    Registering SessionManager
    Error binding to Preference Repository
    Starting the memory manager
Session Manager destructor called (or some other message)or Wakeup if configured properly
This is normal since we are not passing any parameters to the executable as the batch
files or services would. The point here is to see if the executable responds and runs.
If the executable does not run, then the likely cause is corrupt or missing .dlls.
In this case you would need to reinstall Discoverer.
    Example of one particular resolution:
Ran dis33ws and received an ODBC error indicating a .dll problem exists.
Reinstalled Service Pack 6a (SP6a) and Microsoft Data Access Component 2.5
(MDAC). Re-ran dis33ws and received proper resonponse above.
Brought up Discoverer via the portal page with no error.

  • Change from Actual Host Name to a DNS alias

Here is our current standalone Oracle Application Server 10g configuration:
    Platform
UNIX Owner = ora10g (all services run from this account)
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4
All services run from this host
    Database version 10.2.0.4.0
    Infrastructure
    Version = 10.1.2.3
    Installation Type Identity Management
    OHome = /ins01_app01/oracle/oraInfra
    UNIX Owner = ora10g
    MiddleTier
    Version = 10.1.2.3
Installation Type = Business Intelligence and Forms
    OHome = /ins01_app01/oracle/oraMidtier
Only two mid tier components contain apps we use:
Discoverer Viewer (integrated with EBS) and OC4J_Portal (for Web Services).
I’m new at this so please bear with me. I want to change the URL from the actual host name to a DNS alias. For example, the current URL for Discover Viewer:
    https://actualhost.dom.com/discoverer/viewer
I want to change the URL to use a DNS alias, such as this:
    https://devhost.dom.com/discoverer/viewer
I have reviewed the following documentation on how I might accomplish this task:
    Oracle® Application Server Administrator's Guide 10g Release 2 (10.1.2)
    Chapter 8 Changing Network Configurations
8.2.2 Changing the Hostname, Domain Name, or IP Address of a Middle-Tier Installation
ID 734821.1 - chgiphost.sh Fails with java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError Can't find library pass (libpass.so or .so) in
    sun.boot.library.path or java.library.path
However, there are some questions I want to resolve before proceeding:
    1) Am I on the correct path with section “8.2.2 Changing the Hostname”
    2) How can I confirm the middle-tier instance is registered with Oracle Internet Directory and therefore must supply the orcladmin password during this procedure.
    3) Are there any specific to our installation that I might be missing.
    Thanks,
    Pat

    1. Yes you are on the right track.
    2. You can confirm by going to AS Control Console for Midtier; click on Infrastructure link, among the top left links; and see which OID it points to.
    3. you seem to be having it all.

  • Discoverer 3i /4i

What version of Discoverer would work best if the environment
consists of Oracle Apps 11i and Oracle 8i?
    Thanks,
    Vishrut

Oracle Portal version 3.0.8 has introduced a new WebView component "URL component" which would allow the user to access an external URL. So, you can use that to access your Discover Viewer which in turn would give access to your WorkBooks. You can expose this component as a portlet and add the same to a page.

  • [All Platforms][Your Music] Weekly Discovery Playlists

I have a couple of ideas for the Weekly Discovery Playlist. I think the idea behind the Discovery Playlist is great and receiving a bunch of new stuff regularly is fantastic. However, because there is such a lot to get through, I think it would be good if the contents of previous lists could be retained when the new list is released either in an additional playlist or by adding new content to the existing list. Another idea might be to release a new playlist every two weeks to give users the time to familiarise themselves with the content and give them time to add that content to their own playlists or Your Music?

I logged in to my device in my laptop and I discovered that another device is also connected to my apple ID. When I find MY I PHONE, I can also view the other device exact location. Is my account being hacked or hijacked? Please help...

I guess you're talking about iCloud?  Yes if you can see two devices it would appear that someone else can get into your account.  Best change your password.

  • Unable to see views Active Alerts, Discovered Inventory, Distributed Applicatios, Task Status, Unix/Linux Computers, Windows Computer under Monitoring workspace after upgrading to UR6

    Hi All,
Recently I upgraded SCOM 2012 SP1 CU5 to CU6 and facing following issue:
    1. New menu item got grayed out that appears upon the right click on Monitoring node(root) under monitoring workspace.
    2.  When we click Monitoring in the navigation pane, the Monitoring Overview opens, which displays a summary of health states and alerts. if we click any of the numbers in the overview, it is supposed to open a state view of the selected category but
this function does not work now.
    3. Views like Active Alerts, Discovered Inventory, Distributed Applications, Task Status, Unix/Linux Computers and Windows Computer do not appear under Monitoring workspace after upgrading to UR6.
Has anyone out there facing such kind of issue? Any help on fixing these issues would be appreciating.  Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
Have you re-opened the operation manager console?
There are some known issues when intalling UR6, please go through it:

In addition, there is CU7 for SCOM sp1, why not installing the newest one:
