Discoverer 10.1.2.2.0 Patchset

When can we expect Discoverer 10.1.2.2.0 Patchset on
platform Sparc/Solaris?
I understand that it's only available on Linux!
/Thomas

Hi,
It is still recommended to move to 10.1.2.2 + Discoverer cumulative patch III per MetaLink Note 237607.1 ALERT: Required and Recommended Patch Levels For All Discoverer Versions
This patch contains all the EBS 11i FND/SSO code necessary for integration. There is one specific bug on certain platforms using EBS 11i 'SECURE' Mode with 11i (does not affect 12) that Oracle Support/Development will work with you if you encounter it. They stated that it will likely be in the next Discoverer cumulative patch and that EBS development will update the note you mentioned to state the certifications.
It sounds like there might have been some crossed communication in your case. Hope that helps you out.
Regards,
Steve.

  • Patchset 10.1.2.2 and latest Discoverer version

Hi all, I have successfully installed Discoverer 10g 10.1.2.0.2 version from the ΟAS_Business_Intelligence_Pack_101202_(HP), but after a couple of days I discovered some bugs like the double '00' for totals and
On Metalink I found the Note:399843.1 (Upgrading Discoverer 10g (10.1.2.0.x) to Patchset 10.1.2.2) to fix this and other problems.
    So...I have 3 questions:
    1) Which is the latest Discoverer version actually available ? is the 10.1.2.2 ?
    2) with this Patchset, can I upgrade Discoverer 10g to the latest version ?
    3) Instead of installing this patchset, does exist a "business intelligence pack" from the latest Application Server 10g Release 3 (10.1.3.x) in order to install the latest Discoverer version ?
    Thanks you all
    Alex

    Hi,
We had the same issue (discoverer displaying '00' instead of '0') along with couple more issues. We fixed them as below.
    1. Install iAS patch 10.1.2.2 (Disco 10.1.2.54.25) on a development or test server.
This patch is on Metalink and does not require a password.
Patch 4960210 Oracle Application Server Products Family: Patchset
    PLACEHOLDER BUG FOR AS/DS 10G R2 PATCH SET 2 10.1.2.2
    2. Open a Service Request (SR) with Oracle Support to request the password for Discoverer Cumulative Patch III:
Patch 6155500, CUMULATIVE PATCH III: MLR ON TOP OF 10.1.2.2 FOR MLR 6129303 + NEW BUG FIXES
    3. Install patches as described in the patch readme.txt files.
    4. Retest Viewer and workbook identifier to ensure errors no longer occur and workbook identifier is unchanged.
    5. Promote patches to your production environment once bug fix is confirmed.
    Hope this Helps!

  • How can I uninstall a damaged installation of Fusion - PFRD 11.1.1.6.0 - Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer

    Hello,
I am upgrading EBS 11i to 12i, Discoverer 4 to 11. After completing ebs installation and upgrade successfully, I am now working on the Oracle Fusion piece of the upgrade.
    I have installed
    1. JDK
    2. Repository Creation Utility - RCU (schema)
    3. Weblogic - WLS 10.3.6
    4. Oracle Fusion - Discoverer 11g Release 1 Patchset 1 11.1.1.2.0 PFRD
    5. Oracle Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer 11g Patchset 11.1.1.6.0 - Patchset 13517084
    6. Executed config.sh and it failed with but continued.
During the Configuration of Oracle Fusion with config.sh there was failure at with "fails at creating data sources" and accidentally proceeded and all seem to go well until after shutting down the servers when Weblogic Managed Server is unable to start.
The start log indicated: "weblogic.store.PersistentStoreFatalException: [Store:280105]The persistent file store "_WLS_WLS_DISCO" cannot open file _WLS_WLS_DISCO000000.DAT." and I have been unable to find a solution for this error?
See log file error at https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/15497130/oracle/ebs11/startManagedWebLogic.sh_nohup.out
If re-installation is my only option, then what are the steps to uninstall, and which components do I have to uninstall given that I had upgraded all the schemas involved?
    Mathias

    Hey,
You can always change the JDBC datasources in the Weblogic admin console . but have you recorded what is the specific error you got during the datasources creation .
I prefer...create a new user , give him sysdba privillages . Start RCU and create the DEV_DISCOVERER , DEV_DISCOVERER_PS schemas (prefix is your choice)
The Admin server will start . so go to admin console .
    click services -> Data Sources
Check the data sources you have . edit each datasource and update the connection pool information .
after this you can start the Managed server WLS_DISCO
i believe this will solve this .........
if you still get issue again . you can try the link Using the WebLogic Persistent Store
    Thanks

As you can see, I have more components on production.
    My question is :
It's possible to loss functionality applying the patchset?
(I did read the README, but I'm not sure)
    Thanks in advance!

Your first issue is that QA is not exact copy of Production. It makes it difficult to really test these sort of stuff. Most of the differences are related to Application Server stuff. Have you checked the compatibility matrix for App server and its repository? Maybe you should upgrade App server as well.
I've applied 10.2.0.4 on HP-UX cluster many times without problem. But that doesn't mean it works for everyone. Your safest option is to make QA like Prod.

Please post the details of the application server version, database version and OS.
Was this working before? If yes, any changes have been done recently?
What kind of OracleAS installation you have? I see that this is an OracleAS issue, so any reason you are posting this issue in Oracle E-Business Suite forum?
Please review these docs and see if it helps.

  • 10.1.0.3 Patchset Now Available

The 10.1.0.3 patchset is now available on Metalink for Microsoft Windows and Intel Linux. From a brief glance at the rest of the platforms it doesn't appear to be out yet for the Unix platforms.
Can anyone from Oracle let us know if there's any changed/improved functionality from an OLAP point of view with the 10.1.0.3 patchset? One thing I do know is that Discoverer Plus OLAP (aka Drake) requires 10.1.0.3, but is there anything else in the patch that should interest us?
    thanks
    Mark

    A few comments...
    1) I urge all OLAP 10g users to apply the OLAP 10.1.0.3.0A patch (PS# 3769360) to their 10.1.0.3.0 databases. Do not run OLAP without it. Currently the patch is only available on Windows. Linux and HP-UX should be available soon.
    2) Be sure to patch both the Oracle Database Server and Client with the RDBMS 10.1.0.3.0 and OLAP 10.1.0.3.0A patches. Analytic Workspace Manager is found on the Client. So if you fail patching AWM, it will become out of sync with the Server and will not work.
    3) Any new functionality with AWM 10.1.0.3.0A? Users are no longer required to manually enable the analytic workspace for query by the OLAP API. Dynamic enablement automatically creates compatible SQL views over the analytic workspace even if you change the logical model.
    4) Does AWM 10.1.0.3.0A use AWXML? Yes, however only for the query access. The building processing has not changed. With the upcoming 'AWM2' (10.1.0.3.0B), this will completely change over to AWXML.
AWM2 will allow you to go directly from Oracle relational source tables or views to a multidimensional analytic workspace, without the previous prerequisites of creating ROLAP objects. Simply define and alter the logical model within AWM2 and see your results instantaneously. Easily create calculated measures with sophisticated, custom aggregations, etc...
Currently the OLAP 10.1.0.3.0B patch and corresponding AWM2 has a GA of September 30th.
    5) Will the OLAP 10g docs be updated for 10.1.0.3.0/10.1.0.3.0A/10.1.0.3.0B? Yes, the Javadoc for the OLAP API and AWXML has been updated for 10.1.0.3.0. The OLAP DML Guide is being be re-edited and should be available within a week. The OLAP Reference and App Developer's Guide are being overhauled for 10.1.0.3.0A and will be available by the end of the month. Then again for 10.1.0.3.0B, the App Developer's Guide will be updated.

    Thank you for your help

    Hi Amer,
For OLAP access in 10g database you must apply the 10.1.0.4 patchset that can be downloaded from Metalink. This provides many new features for the OLAP option such as improved sparsity management and paritioned cubes to name a few of the new features.
Once you have this patchset installed you will then be able to use Discoverer to access your dimensions and cubes.
    Hope this helps

  • Passing Paramter Values to a Discoverer Worksheet

Hi. I've set up a link from a measure in my OLAP workbook. It attempts to pass values from the OLAP workbook to parameters in the Discoverer workbook. This seems to work fine if I pass the dimension label (i.e. the descriptive name of the member). If I try and pass the value however, it always seems to prefix the "code" with the level name. I have NOT used the surrogate key option when generating the cube in AWM2 - I have used the natural key option as all of my codes are unique across all levels. I simply want to pass back the code. E.g. my dimension is time and the level is Quarter. The member on display is Quarter 3, with an underlying code of Q3. When I pass back the dimension value, it passes back Quarter_Q3 and not Q3. Can anybody help? Thanks.

    Hi,
This looks like a possible bug. I presume you are using the 10.1.0.4 patchset or the 9.2.0.6? If not I would recommend applying that patch ASAP
I tried this on my installation and the parameter values were passed through correctly, with no '_' characters inserted before the value.
Otherwise, this might be an issue with Discoverer. I would recommend creating a TAR with Oracle Support via Metalink to resolve this issue.
    Hope this helps,

  • Displaying Discoverer report through Apps Form

    Hi all,
I have a question as to, is it possible to call a discoverer report created in discoverer desktop and which is stored in the database., from an Oracle Apps form using the following method
WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT(url,target).. and if yes what url needs to be passed.
    Thnx
    Shruti

If you have a 11.5.10 instance with Advanced Supply Chain Planning setup (of a Vision Instance), apply 4103334 PLANNING DETAIL REPORT FOR MSC PATCHSET J
Then look at the function MSCPLDTL_DISC, it makes a call with Parameters Workbook=MSC_PLAN_DET_REP_WB&Parameters=Sheet~1*, of Type SSWA plsql function and HTML call OracleOasis.RunDiscoverer.
The form that launches the Discoverer report is MSCPLDTL.fmb.

  • Install  Portal, Forms, Reports, Discoverer on weblogic

I have weblogic 10.3.4 installed and configured. I am trying to install Portal, Forms, Reports, Discoverer on top of weblogic so I can host my (fmb and fmx ) oracle forms and reports based apps.... i downloaded 11.1.1.2 Portal, Forms, Reports and Discoverer... but when I try to runInstaller it bombs and I get an error /PFRD : not found....
    Edited by: user9021545 on Sep 14, 2011 5:51 PM

Just unzip all the zips to the same directory, then you can something like:
    Directory
    - Disk1
    - Disk2
    - Disk3
    - Disk4
In Disk1 the runInstaller is present and can be run
After the installation you can do the same for the patchset
    PatchSet11.1.1.*
    - Disk1
    - Disk2
    - Disk3
    Disk1 contains the runInstaller
You need to perform four steps:
    - Install the WebLogic 10.3.4 software
    - Install the Fusion Middleware 11.1.1.2 Portal,Forms,Reports,Discoverer software
    - Install the FMW 11.1.1.4 Patchset for Portal,Forms,Reports,Discoverer
    - Configure a Fusion Middleware instance (the configuration steps are presented here: Re: 10gAS to 11g - Do I have this correct?

  • Discoverer 10g installed with Ora Apps 11i on same box

I've worked through the "coexistence restrictions" for Discoverer 10g (9.0.4) and 9iR1 (1.0.2.2.x) which states:
"The following instances of Oracle Application Server 10g (9.0.4) and Oracle9i Application Server Release 1 (1.0.2.2.x) can coexist on the same computer only after Oracle9iAS Discoverer has been shutdown in the Oracle9iAS Release 1 (1.0.2.2.x) Oracle home:
1.0.2.2.x Standard Edition and 9.0.4 Business Intelligence and Forms
1.0.2.2.x Enterprise Edition and 9.0.4 Business Intelligence and Forms
1.0.2.2.x Standard Edition and 9.0.4 Business Intelligence and Forms without OracleAS Infrastructure 10g
1.0.2.2.x Enterprise Edition and 9.0.4 Business Intelligence and Forms without OracleAS Infrastructure 10g"
Does this imply that I can install 11i on a box, permanently shut down Discoverer and then ON THE SAME BOX install 10g Infrastructure and Midtier including Discoverer 10g?
Has anyone worked through this installation and made it work?
    Thanks

This IS possible and have now done it with assist from Oracle tech support.
    1. Install 64-bit 10.2.0.1 Databse into OraDb_home.
    2. Install 32-bit 10.2.0.1 Client (needs Windows ODBC extensions) into OraClient_home.
    3. Apply patch 5500954 for 64-bit - this is a Critical Bug patch 8 for 64-bit.
    4. Apply patch 5337014 for 32-bit - this is a patchset to upgrade the Client to 10.0.2.0.3.
    5. Contrary to what Oracle note 334528.1 says (which is to patch the 64-bit Server, you must patch/upgrade the 32-bit client as well (otherwise, it still fails).
Also, DataDirect's Connect Ver 5.2 ODBC Oracle "wire-driver" (32-bit version) will work without installing the OraClient at all.

  • Discoverer Patch 3.1.40

We have Discoverer 3.1.36 User Edition installed on about 50 Windows PCs, and the Disc. Admin 3.1.36 installed on my PC and my manager's PC.
We're not ready to migrate to Discoverer 3i, but we think we should install one of the latest patchsets. A support analyst told me that Patchset 3.1.41 has caused some serious problems and that it might be withdrawn from the Oracle website. Is this true?
How about Patchset 3.1.40? Has anyone installed it? Has it proven to be solid?
Does this same patchset upgrade both User Edition and Administrator?

There are some issues with 3.1.41. These have only been significant for a small number of customers, but to be on the safe side, we recommend you upgrade to 3.1.40 instead. We have already fixed the 3.1.41 issues and the 3.1.42 release should be very solid.
    Hope this helps,
